Aries Month Ahead Horoscope - Results
The Following Month Ahead Horoscopes Were Found:

1st February 2003 - 28th February 2003

Some of January’s pressures appear to lift as February comes in. This is not only because of general improvements in your life but also because your attitude is more upbeat and relaxed. The eleventh house of your solar horoscope sees most of the action, which brings friendship, team-work and creative projects to the fore. So often the loner of the zodiac - at least in the sense of liking your own way and not being beholden to anyone else’s opinions and direction - you’ll get a whole lot further now by sharing your ideas and taking a consensus over the best actions and strategies. Togetherness and team-work win the day.

Until the 14th life seems to run smoothly but the following weekend sees an astrological sea-change. This sea-change involves the zodiac as a whole so although you may have a unique experience it is more likely that a global development or an event concerning other people in your life will make an impact upon you. Several major planetary aspects all come together between the 14th and 21st: a full moon in Leo (16th), Jupiter opposition Neptune (16th), Mars conjunct Pluto (16th), the sun conjunct Uranus (17th) Mars opposition Saturn (20th) and Mercury conjunct Neptune (21st). At the very least we can say that this period of time brings simmering issues to a head and gets rid of any nagging doubts. Technically, the area of far horizons is in the frame here, so it may be that events taking place in another country will change one or more of your plans or you may find that an offer or opportunity arises from afar, which will change your long-term horizons. Whether the news is wonderful during this time or somewhat unnerving, take your time before you commit thoughts to action.

1st January 2003 - 31st January 2003

Aries the Pioneer should relish the beginning of a new year but with certain aspects of your life still unresolved and memories of 2002's less than glorious offerings fresh in your mind you are in a more conservative and sober mood as January comes in. Nevertheless, with a cluster of planets sharing the ninth house of long range pursuits and the tenth house of life-direction this is a prime time to get behind your ambitions and to affirm your unique self and your abilities.

Mercury turns retrograde on the 2nd and will head back across old territory until the 23rd so it may seem as though you are dealing with old issues to the detriment of everything else. However, you are making progress. The tying up of loose ends and learning from past actions will help you approach new situations in a more strategic way and you will benefit from ensuring that ventures are put on solid ground right from the outset.

Venus and Mars will both transit the area of long-distance affairs so if you're not travelling to foreign parts or making overseas connections you could be planning such things for later in the year. Some Arians may be conducting a long-distance romance while others will be endeavouring to put some distance between themselves and their problems, no doubt of the opposite sex variety, but in the main these planets in their current position will elevate your thinking and inspire you ever onwards and upwards.

The full moon of the 18th highlights the life-direction axis so you should be able to make a decision about a job or your home/family circumstances from then on. All full moons have a chapter-closing feel to them so it would be appropriate to bring an end to anything that is preventing your from achieving your long-term goals.

Between the 23rd and 25th reality is the order of the day, which means emotions and dramas cannot be allowed to interfere with common sense actions and discussions.

I wouldn't say this was a magical start to a new year but it does have its promise of better things to come.

1st March 2003 - 31st March 2003

Ever had that head-stuck-in-a-paper-bag feeling? Wondering why the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing? No surprise there then. The sun’s passage through the reclusive twelfth house tends to make it seem as if you’re being kept in the dark and instead of your usual Aries decisiveness and energy you’re feeling vulnerable and uncertain. Also, usually a robust and resilient sign you are suddenly much more susceptible to coughs, colds and sneezies and a tad more accident prone. All of which mounts up to a period when you need to take it as easy as possible and to refrain from life-changing actions. That is until the sun enters your sign on the 21st when gradually your spark will come back and situations will begin to come together.

But, let’s face it, this is not a particularly great month for anyone. Once the Mercury-Uranus conjunction of the 4th has got to work awakening everyone to a previously unknown fact or two a string of important connections follow one after the other from the 8th and 18th. This ten days, like other such blocks of time in preceding months, is likely to coincide with a period of international tension, which in turn makes us all as individuals less easy to live with. Thus, while you may not have anything specific to complain about during this ten-day stretch, dealing with other people and their dramas could prove draining to say the least. But, if anything of a major nature does indeed occur at this time avoid making any finite decisions until you are one hundred percent sure of the facts and where your best interests lie.

From the 4th Mars will be at the zenith of your chart encouraging you to strive towards material benefits and to accomplish your mainstream goals and desires. Yet since this is at odds with the strong twelfth house influence you would be better making plans on paper and lobbying support in a low-key way until the last ten days of the month.

During March many situations are coming together in the background - you won’t see them in reality for a while. However, that all-important point - the Spring Equinox, when the sun enters Aries - signals the start of an extremely positive period for your affairs. It’s that old patience thing, Aries.

1st April 2003 - 30th April 2003

This is your month in ever sense of the phrase. Not only will the sun be in your sign until the 20th but the very next day Venus takes over, giving your confidence, your plans and your love life a serious boost. More about this shortly!

April has fewer astrological difficulties than the previous three months. Now, this doesn’t mean you can spend all that money you don’t have and go into situations with complete abandon but it does mean that you will face fewer obstacles and you should enjoy life a whole lot more. The most intense and therefore the most stressful periods of April fall between the 11th and 18th so do your best to trim your schedule then and make a determined effort to be tolerant and forgiving.

The full moon of the 16th flanks the relationship axis, thus coinciding with the end of a chapter. For some Arians this full moon is the signal for marriage or a sign that you have/are about to join an organization. However, for other Arians the reverse is the case and the full moon represents the severance of a contract. If the latter turns out to be the reality, Venus’s arrival in your sign on the 21st (for a four-week transit) could do much to repair a broken heart or a severed connection.

Venus tends to enhance your image and your reputation when she is in your sign, so you can look forward to more success across the board. You may change your ‘look’ and, perhaps because you are feeling more positive about life generally, you may receive more attention from the opposite sex. Venus can do much to sparkle up a lacklustre love life and the latter part of April (and much of May, as we shall see next month) is a premium period for Aries nuptials in particular and romance in general.

1st May 2003 - 31st May 2003

The month ahead is all about self-worth, both in financial and psychological terms. Aries, of course, rarely suffers from any lack of self-esteem or confidence, and you are one of the zodiac’s most enthusiastic consumers, but you’ve had a bit of a bumpy ride recently and May gives you the chance to right the balance.

On the plus side, the lovely Venus will be in your sign until the 16th so you have a certain amount of good will and good luck operating in your life, and for some Arians this could turn out to be a seriously romantic period. New liaisons begin beautifully and even tired old relationships could get some of their lustre back. But on the minus side, a lunar eclipse on the axis of self-worth (16th) could bring a financial matter to a head and/or put a relationship on a knife-edge. With this in mind, right from the beginning of May you should have a long, hard look at your financial position and attend to any debts or loans with a view to reducing them or at least making a plan to resolve them over a given period of time. Eclipses either produce out of the blue events that change the status quo or they bring simmering situations up to boiling point. Whatever you do, do not ignore a red light and check out all rumours and anomalies.

The reason I mention rumours and anomalies is the strength of Neptune during May. The 3rd, 12th,16th and 27th are all days when Neptune forges challenging links to the personal planets, and Neptune tends to blind us to reality and make the going very slippery indeed. Friends, colleagues and organizations may have different agendas from the ones you believe them to have and although I don’t want to make you unnecessarily paranoid, nor do I want you to make a mistake that could have been avoided simply by being more thorough with the facts and figures. Charm and bluster simply won’t get you through May.

On the 20th Mercury turns direct and with a solar eclipse on the communications axis on the 31st, be prepared for some 180 degree turn-arounds where contracts, meetings, travel and planning are concerned. Don't light the touch paper.

1st May 2003 - 1st May 2003

Due to unforeseen circumstances, this months forecast has been delayed! Please call back again soon. Penny

1st June 2003 - 30th June 2003

Fortunately, Aries is not averse to change and the unexpected, nor are you a sign who backs off from a challenge. And it is with these positive messages that we head into June - a month of surprises and pitfalls. Now, before you delete your June stars, let me expand on the alignments. Both Pluto and Uranus are big players now and, since there was a solar eclipse on 31st May, all members of the zodiac should be on orange alert for events of the sudden and unexpected kind. You are not alone. What you need to do, however, is look at those situations that could blow up in your face, so to speak, and deal with them while you still have some manoeuvrability. Communication is all this month - how you say it, when you say it and what you do with it. Yes, you may be travelling and spending less time at home, which you usually enjoy, but you should be aware of other people’s agendas and never assume that you know what the other person is thinking, or what he or she will do. Remember, this is a month of surprises. Where travel is concerned, make sure you have flexibility and enough cash reserves in the event of circumstances beyond your control affecting your plans.

For some Arians the end of a contract or the end of a period of learning/experience lies ahead. And while there may be some regrets about such scenarios, new frontiers wait to be conquered. The periods around the 9th, 14th and 23rd are the stuff of dynamite, whether you are seeking a spring-board to the new or whether events suddenly make your long-term outlook seem very different indeed.

On the 4th, Saturn enters your fellow Cardinal sign, Cancer, which in your solar chart brings into focus the area of home, family and the foundations of life. Saturn will take two years to finish his tour of duty here so, although you may get to put down roots and establish yourself - professionally or personally - there will be some painful lessons to learn in regard to those things that and those people who represent the pillars of your existence. Budgets and economic common sense are essential commodities from now on. With this in mind, and especially if you have a birthday on or near 21st March, the period between the 21st and 25th June could show you where any weaknesses lie and what may have to be jettisoned in order for you to thrive and prosper.

June’s stars pack a powerful punch.

1st July 2003 - 31st July 2003

After June’s stirring alignments July looks positively dull! The main focus of the planets is on your base in life, making this the month of the year to attend to family business. Aside from family gatherings and family discussions there could be some activity on the property front. At the very least this is an excellent few weeks to look at your domestic situation and to see whether a move or some renovation and refurbishment would be the way to go. The full moon of the 13th will help bring simmering family/property issues to a head, after which you can begin to sort what is practical and realistic from what are pipe-dreams and unsubstantiated fears.

Saturn plays a similar role in helping you make realistic decisions: since this planet arrived at the base of your chart in early June it has made only one connection (to the sun on 24th June) but will now hook up to Mercury (1st July) and Venus (8th July). Especially if you have a March birthday these are times when you may feel uncharacteristically negative about life but instead of bemoaning your lot, and in the process avoiding facing an unpalatable truth, you should look a difficulty in the face and make a practical plan to resolve it. Remember the three ‘D’s’ - Deal with it, Defer it or Delegate it! But, whatever you do, make a solid plan and stick to it. If, on the other hand, events are generally dispiriting, do your best to remember that what is going on is only part of life and not all of it.

But before you gain the impression that July is nothing but Saturnian realities, after the 13th Mercury, Venus and the sun will all move into your fellow fire sign, Leo, setting the stage for some fun, pleasure and even some romance. From the 22nd you will enter one of the most creative and self-expansive periods of the year. Yes, you may take a holiday or find yourself with invitations to social events and other activities that bring out your fun side, but if you have been wanting to get an endeavour off the ground or seeking to establish a niche for your talents, opportunities should now unfold. The weekend of the 26th is a particularly happy period and one when a big decision can be made joyfully.

1st August 2003 - 31st August 2003

Isn’t it about time you took off that hair shirt you’ve been wearing and stopped working for the planet? There are other people who can be trusted to carry out instructions - the world won’t stop because you’ve taken your hand off the steering wheel. Now with the sun and Venus sweeping through the pleasure-dome of the horoscope it is time to re-discover the fun-you, the one who doesn’t take everything so seriously and can show other people how to live, not a little but a lot.

For some Arians the truly creative aspect of the fifth house will emerge this August, in that you’ll be bringing new things to life, whether in the literal sense of tiny human beings or in the metaphorical way of endeavours and social/artistic productions. The full moon of the 12th cuts across this fertile axis of your horoscope, so ending a gestation period and signalling the birth of a new cycle. Your confidence could come back big time in August and you should be brimming with new ideas and enthusiasms.

Romance could also make a bit of a come-back in August - you should be looking your best and in the mood to flirt and frolic! Therefore, even moth-eared relationships could get back their sexual sparkle and in some cases a new romantic liaison will spring up suddenly and in the most surprising of ways.

Quite the most brilliant alignment dominates the mid-to end part of August - Jupiter and Uranus stand at opposite ends of the zodiac and are joined by the sun and Venus. While Jupiter adds to the success and joy to be had this month, Uranus brings an out-of-the-blue edge to the proceedings: on the plus side this astrological set-up portends the appearance of a totally unexpected offer or experience but on the down side you will have to watch out for accidents of the verbal and bodily kind. Especially on or near the 28th be very careful what you say and do.

Nonetheless these are minor warnings in an otherwise fun-filled few weeks.

1st September 2003 - 30th September 2003

Aries, the workaholic and the hypochondriac, emerges now! Thanks to a cluster of planets in the area of work and well-being, plus some of the years toughest alignments, you may well feel you are on a knife-edge. Just how true this really is depends on many individual factors, not least whether or not you have paid attention to a warning light or two.

It may be that you have been pursuing a punishing time-table and you have reached a point where you must try to streamline your life and make some sensible cut-backs. In many ways this is what the alignment of the 5th to 17th is all about, whether you just run out of steam or whether external developments bring a halt to a particular avenue of activity. I don’t mean to be alarmist here, of course, but Aries is renowned for steaming forth regardless and ignoring the occasional red light. And this you cannot do when Saturn is on your case. One of the reasons I mention hypochondria is that if you have run down your batteries, a simple state of exhaustion could become completely exaggerated in your mind. Thus, an overall health check and some attention to nutrition and general fitness would not go amiss. Likewise, as far as work goes, you need to look at the real state of a working commitment and if a job comes to an end now, try to see where you have overestimated yourself or where you have overextended yourself.

On the plus side, lovely Venus heads into the relationship zone on the 15th so romance could make a wonderful come-back. Established relationships get back some of their old lustre and new romances spring into being. The only minus-factor here is the combination of the full moon in Aries (26th) and the Venus-Saturn square of the 25th, which could produce a relationship pothole of a rather large variety. On the other hand, Saturn does make for binding commitments so that if you are marrying or making a long-term decision then, it should prove binding indeed!

1st October 2003 - 31st October 2003

Since mid-September Venus has been at work in the area of relating, so already you may have seen some positive developments in your love life or a pleasing event brought about by someone you know in a professional or personal capacity. However, if relationships have continued to be hard work and no one has given you the benefit of their advice, support, influence or love, the passage of the sun and Mercury through this same area during much of October could well produce the goods.

Saturn makes an appearance on the 6th and 14th so around these times you are advised to keep to the straight and narrow and if you are concerned about anything to make a pre-emptive move. November looks to be a month of financial crunch-points so by taking certain preventative steps in October you could save yourself a lot of hassle in a few short weeks. And while we’re on the subject of Saturn, this planet’s retrograde move on the 25th signals the beginning of a five-month period when you must be prepared to deal with ancient history, especially of a family nature.

The full moon of the 10th is in your sign, and is the only one this year, so you are both empowered and in the hot seat. Full moons always represent opportunities for closure and completion, so if you have any unresolved issues with a partner or a friend, this is the ideal time to deal with them. This would also be an appropriate time to set the seal on a relationship, whether this means marriage or setting down some ground rules in a working or romantic relationship. Of course, sometimes this theme of closure and completion applies to the end of an association: if this is so, try not to head into despair mode but to see this ending as part of a continuing cycle of endings and beginnings.

By mid-month there will be an increasing focus on finances and the deeper layers of love and relating. On the one hand, this may translate as your having discussions with banks, lawyers or lending organizations in regard to your financial future and, on the other, sharing secrets and exchanging feelings of a profound nature with someone to whom you are close. Indeed, the overriding message of October’s stars is that while you may be a fearless fighter and an independent spirit this doesn’t mean you can live without love.

1st November 2003 - 30th November 2003

Not a month for the fainthearted and, if you’d like me to shed a little more light on why, take the time to read my new article - Harmonic Convergences, Eclipses and other awe-inspiring matters.

Until the 22nd the sun will be transiting the complex eighth house of your horoscope so right from the get-go we are in strange and unpredictable ‘star’ territory. Certainly, this is a period during which you need to look deep beneath the surface of presenting situations and to question other people’s real agendas. It is also a time when money matters need your attention, whether you should be re-structuring existing financial agreements or looking at ways in which to stem the flood of money from your account. Relationships also require greater care and while this is an ideal time to strengthen the roots of partnerships and alliances it is also a period when estrangements and betrayals of trust can occur.

Money and partnerships are the focus of the lunar eclipse of the 8th/9th, and with Neptune also in the frame you need to be particularly careful about making unwise investments or losing the financial plot. Take six days either side of the lunar eclipse to be on your guard for slips of the monetary and relationship kind. By the 20th we are in the aura of the second total eclipse of the month - this time in Sagittarius. Risks of any sort should be avoided for the entire month but especially around the 20th, 23rd and 26th. Travel and communications are the areas of life most likely to be affected by this eclipse so keep your travel plans fluid and be accommodating when in meetings and discussions.

As I said: not a month for the fainthearted.

1st December 2003 - 31st December 2003

With the ninth house of overseas connections in the frame, you could be travelling widely in December and getting together with people far away from home territory. If such things are already on your agenda, might I suggest you do as much of your travelling and networking before the 17th because once Mercury has turned direct, getting from A to B is going to be a Christmas pantomime!

Saturn and Pluto are in charge of events throughout the month so, especially around the 12th and 31st you will need to be a little more careful about how you go and what you say. Actions have lasting consequences with these two planets. The full moon of the 8th flanks the travel and communications axis of your chart so this is one of the most delicate periods of December for journeys and negotiations. On the other hand, what agreements you make and the decisions you reach should prove lasting and worthwhile.

Indeed, aside from getting places in the sense of travel it seems you are also in one of the most ambitious phases of the year, and much can happen in regard to your career and/or your role in life. It may be that social events provide a setting for career openings; on the other hand, a social event may have to be set aside because of the demands of a job. Mars’s arrival in your sign on the 16th ensures that you’ll leave no stone unturned in achieving your objectives, but you’ll have to be a little wary of making enemies in the process.

Now, I don’t want to be a complete party pooper but Saturn’s input just prior to Christmas and over the New Year is not an indication of pure unbridled joy. It could be simply a case of your having worked too hard and are consequently too exhausted to enjoy the festivities but there is a chance that someone, perhaps a member of the family, makes life rather difficult. Grin and bear it, Aries. In the words of Scarlet O’Hara: Tomorrow is another day!

1st January 2004 - 31st January 2004

Do not judge this book by its cover! You know, that old truism has a great deal of relevance to your January stars: this opening to 2004 is far from light and breezy - indeed, you could feel anything but your usual feisty and positive self - but as the month goes by and certainly the year, things will get better and better.

So what’s the problem with early January? Well, Mars in your sign squares up to dreary Saturn on the 1st and the full moon of the 7th covers the same ground creating a Cardinal “T”-square involving the axis of life-direction. Especially if you have a late March/early April birthday this is a time of realities and reckonings: you may feel as though you are being blocked by circumstances beyond your control, or you may simply feel severely under the weather. Whatever that first week brings in the way of frustrating or painful developments, you need to look at your part in events and try to extract the lesson therein. It is a seven-day period in which to put on the brakes and to be cautious in your words and actions.

By the 9th a sea-change starts to take place and you could already be seeing the positive side to recent events - some Arians may be able to celebrate a success, probably one linked to your career or a personal goal. Indeed, with the sun in the area of life-direction until the 20th, this is a premium period for career moves. From the second week of January, your efforts to gain promotion or find more of a niche for yourself work-wise should meet with success. Health too could be a key feature of January, whether you are dealing with the effects of Christmas past, long-term health concerns or getting into shape.

From the 20th, life shifts into another gear and instead of feeling like the lonely foot soldier you are more the warrior among like-minded souls! Indeed, friendships, collaborative ventures and teamwork are the theme of the moment. Events around the 15th and 22nd could change a long-standing pattern, and these are times to go carefully with people you need to keep on side. Otherwise a month with a better ending than a beginning.

1st February 2004 - 29th February 2004

Now, I’ve got good news and bad. The good news is that Venus enters your sign on the 8th (more about this shortly) and the bad news is that this lovely planet hooks up to Saturn on Valentine’s Day!

But, first things first. The sun’s passage through the area of companions and collaboration makes February a month to forget all about being the star of the show and share your ideas, talents and resources with others. You’ll have good times with friends but you’ll come up against the occasional obstruction in regard to a joint project, probably during the first ten to fifteen days of the month. The idea here is not to throw a wobbly but to track down the source of the problem and see if it can be fixed. February’s influences are largely favourable to Aries so you should be able to get an endeavour heading in the right direction again.

And so to Venus. I often think Venus is like a charm particle or a get-out-of-jail-free card: you just have that extra bit of magic about you, and where your love life is concerned Venus can help a treat. Thus, between the 8th February and 5th March you are at something of a peak of your powers and you should make the most of it. With the exception of the 14th. Now, I know that’s Valentine’s Day and you had a hundred red roses pictured in your mind but you need to cut your expectations to a realistic size. Princes turn into frogs under Saturn and unless you’re tying the marital knot around that time, which is the one good thing you can do on a Venus-Saturn aspect, the climate tends to be somewhat dispiriting. You can put in some good work on a relationship in February but there is an 80% chance you’ll have a painful and certainly truthful moment.

Uranus puts in an appearance between the 19th and 25th, so not the period to take an undue risk nor to vote with your feet unless you can live with the consequences. Nonetheless, February ain’t a bad month at all.

1st March 2004 - 31st March 2004

Ever had that head-in-a-paper-bag feeling? Sometimes felt that everyone else seemed to know what was going on while you were completely in the dark? Well, if you are familiar with such feelings, you’ll have some experience to draw from in March. Until the 20th, the sun and Mercury are closeted in the fog-bound twelfth house, so it will be difficult to see your way ahead clearly and you may not feel your usual feisty self. All this will pass, of course, but my advice to you would be to try to take it easy and to delegate as many of the tasks and chores to other people. By contrast, if you sense other people are not telling you the whole truth and nothing but the truth, rather than press them for answers, withdraw from centre-stage and wait until all the pieces of the puzzle are to be seen.

On the plus side, this is a few weeks when things of the spiritual kind take precedence: your dreams may speak volumes to you and activities like meditation and yoga do more for you than any amount of socializing and net-working. And, if you have any health issues, now is the time to deal with them. The period between the 6th and 12th is delicate to say the least and the 15th is another date you need to look out for in the sense of painful realizations. But once past the 15th it’s a case of onward and upward.

Venus charms the financial sector of your chart, so there could be more money coming in and opportunities to spend it too. The 17th looks to be an excellent day for making financial agreements and an offer or work opportunity that arises then could and should lead to great things. Indeed, work and finance look to be the reasons for any March celebrations.

One last word: on or near the 28th Mars and Uranus rule the roost, making for sudden and unexpected changes, especially regarding travel. There is also an end-of-an-era feel to the astrology then. Onward and upward, Aries!

1st April 2004 - 30th April 2004

This is Aries’ month in more ways than one. We have left behind some of the darker influences that dogged the first three months of the year, and with the sun in your sign, in place of doubts and set-backs come renewed confidence and faith in the future. The only drawback to April’s largely sunny astro-scape is retrograde Mercury. This planet, as you may well have learned by now, doesn’t make progress as swift or as uncomplicated as you may like, but it will give you a chance to take some time out and to recapture a lost cause of some description.

The full moon of the 5th, as in the case of all full moons, ends a large or small chapter - on this occasion linked to your interactions with others. 20th March - 19th April represents a period in which you may find yourself putting certain relationships under the microscope, and while some partnerships will appear to be in fine shape, others may look distinctly moth-eared. Thus, the full moon becomes a time when stronger bonds are formed - in some cases implying an engagement or marriage - and also a time when rifts and separations occur in friendships, working associations and romantic relationships.

The solar eclipse in Aries on the 19th is all about new starts. Clearly, you can stage manage your own new beginning any which way you choose - a new health kick, perhaps, or a spring-clean - but as with all eclipses events have an out-of-the-blue quality about them. Sometimes a life-changing happening occurs on the day of an eclipse itself but you would be wiser assuming that this eclipse portends an unexpected and major development before mid-June. Now, this may sound a little waffly to some of you, but in my long experience as an astrologer I have come to understand that there is a longer time line to an eclipse than the mere few minutes it takes for the moon to separate from the sun.

The week of the 19th finds Mars opposed to Pluto, so while you can take on a huge challenge then and succeed, there will also be a trend for confrontation and anger. Do your best to find a middle way in any disagreement and be very philosophical about those things that you cannot change.

1st May 2004 - 31st May 2004

The month gets off to a powerful start, so hopefully your batteries are fully charged and you’re ready for the assault course ahead. Technically, it is the area of finance that looks to be hit the hardest, so if you already sense a cashflow crisis coming on, don’t add fuel to the fire: begin your economy drive at the outset and initiate discussions with financial organizations before they come looking for you! By contrast, the lunar eclipse of the 4th and strong Jupiter aspects near the 1st, 24th and 31st could see you increasing your monetary lot and finding greater financial security.

On the 7th, ruler, Mars, reaches the base of your chart, thereby generating intense activity on the home front until the end of June: this ‘activity’ may manifest as changes to the home itself or developments in the lives of one or more family members. However, this area of the horoscope also represents the foundations of life, so you may well begin new professional endeavours in May and see some changes to your life-style and your overall direction. Mars, of course, is not the sweetest of influences, so you must also be prepared for some opposition to your ideas, and the odd skirmish or two - watch the period around the 25th.

As soon as the sun enters Gemini on the 20th, the area of travel and communications swings into view: life will start to move apace from this time, and aside from travelling or making travel plans for the future, a season of important meetings and discussions will have begun. More about this next month!

1st June 2004 - 30th June 2004

Been feeling a little bored recently? Fed up of the same old, same old? Well, fasten your seat belts, Aries - this is one huge roller-coaster ride. However, whether you’ll enjoy June’s thrills and spills, or come off the worse for wear for them, is the bigger question!

The blockbuster alignments cut across the axis of travel and communications, so even if you stay put, the chances are that what you hear, see and discuss will change your outlook considerably. But, if you are travelling during the first seventeen days, do go prepared for some detours and disruptions to your schedule. Likewise, do not expect to be able to predict how certain people are going to respond to your suggestions or invitations. One way or another, something looks set to surprise you in June, and contracts, legal matters, education and long-distance connections are all in the frame.

Clearly, we cannot rule out major global upsets at this time, so your chart may have more to do with your reaction to what’s going on out there in the big wide world, rather than your own small world. Nevertheless, if you want to stay sane, and on the right side of the law (Saturn’s law too) you won’t cut corners in June, nor rattle anyone’s chain.

Ideally, what needs to happen this month is that you re-write one of your life-scripts, because what you once wanted, believed in or used as a tactic/skill is no longer appropriate.

1st July 2004 - 31st July 2004

The first ten days of July may not be to Aries liking but from the weekend of the 11th , it’s a relative pleasure trip. And why do the first ten days have a cloud hovering over them? Well, the full moon of the 2nd flanks the life-direction axis, and while full moons are useful in the sense that they encourage the process of closure and completion, they almost always up the emotional amps. Those first ten days are also coloured by the applying sun-Saturn conjunction, which is exact on the 8th. Sun-Saturn conjunctions are always serious business: they reveal weaknesses and drive home the need for practical, pragmatic action: you can feel dispirited, sometimes for no discernable reason, and other times because you have suffered a defeat of some description. On this occasion, the area of home and family is involved, so it is here that you are most likely to experience an end of a chapter. Of course, sun-Saturn aspects have their plus sides too, and some Arians may well have good news in early July, perhaps because a contract is ready to be signed and you now know where you stand - in the most positive sense.

Certainly, July is all about seeing to the foundations of life, whether in terms of family, the home itself, or plans for the future. This is a premium period of 2004 for renovation, refurbishment and house moves, and also a time when parents, children and the rest of the family require attention.

Mars and Mercury will be in the area of creativity and fun, so July is not without its happy social events - and happy events of another sort too. Some Arians will be welcoming a new member of the family or attending functions that celebrate the success of an offspring. Indeed, from mid-July, although you may not be able to walk away from work and responsibilities, you should have reason to feel that life is good: the sun shines on you. At last!

1st August 2004 - 31st August 2004

You’re in creative mode this August, and, after a year of hard slog and more than a few challenges, you’re ready to enjoy life. Yes, August is holiday month, whether you do indeed take off for vacation paradises or simply shut up shop and bring self-indulgence to the top of your agenda. Of course, the planets haven’t shut up shop! As August comes in, Mercury and Uranus are at opposite ends of the zodiac, thus setting a trend for the unexpected and the unorthodox. Once again, you may be able to reflect this theme in your life-style - bringing a dash of colour to your home decoration and a flavour of the exotic into your cuisine - but you will need to monitor your temper and be prepared for some last moment changes to your plans.

From the 10th, little Mercury is retrograde, so the usual communication log-jams and mis-understandings will pepper normal life. However, what happens to you may pale in comparison with the dramas at airports and other transport terminals. Between the 17th and 27th, Uranus will be centre stage yet again, so if you are travelling in this part of August, take your patience pills, along with your powers of ingenuity. Uranus aspects encourage computer blips and power-cuts/surges, and since we depend so heavily on this kind of technology now, part of the problem with getting from A to B could be down to computer crashes.

Even though I have suggested that you take some time out in August, the area of work is under focus too. Some Arians will be experience sudden and unexpected changes to their jobs, thanks to Uranus, while others will be acquiring new skills to improve their professional chances. Health too could be a feature of August stars - not a time to take risks with life and limb, nor to ignore distress signals of any description.

On the 31st Venus and Saturn combine to consolidate an agreement or bring you down to earth with a bump. Be practical, not a prima-donna.

1st September 2004 - 30th September 2004

September's stars require work. On the one hand, nothing will come easily - almost everything will demand effort, and obstacles of one sort or another will appear, and when you least expect them. And, on the other hand, many of the most important developments of the month could centre on your work situation. If I have two pieces of advice to offer the warrior of the zodiac, they are 1) do not underestimate the opposition and 2) opt for the diplomatic option when and where possible. If you have an opportunity to change your job or diversify in any way, take it; and should a company decide to let you go, or you sense the writing on the wall, start networking!

Another point to be raised by September's horoscope is your health: small problems should be dealt with now so that they do not become major difficulties later, and if you already know that you are not in the greatest of shapes, now is the time to start an exercise programme and begin to eat more nutritiously.

Clearly, when you have alignments such as those dominating the period between the 7th and 22nd, there are going to be some hugely important developments on the world's stage - politicians and leaders may come and go, and all sorts of already contentious situations could reach melt-down, so even if your life continues in much the same vein, you will be hearing about other people's dramas and disasters.

This all-important fifteen-day period will bring simmering issues to boiling point - information that has been suppressed or misplaced could emerge and you may feel as if you are fending off one problem after another. Now, I know this sounds alarmist at worst and dreary at best, but there is good news to come, and in the form of Jupiter, which will enter the zone of relationships on the 25th.

Over the next twelve months most Arians will experience improvements in their love life - engagement and marriage for some, a return to a near-honeymoon state for others, and in general people will appear in your life who will add to your happiness and success story. Indeed, for the March Arians these scenarios may well start to come in towards the end of this month and through October too. (A little something to keep you going, should those cosmic storms of mid-September temporarily dim your enthusiasm.)

1st October 2004 - 31st October 2004

Aries is one of the most independent and assertive signs of the zodiac but you are going to have to hand over power to other people in October. And, scary as this sounds, you may not dislike the experience. The seventh house of relating is the centre of most of the planetary activity, so other people play a crucial part in what happens to you. Yes, there could be plenty of Aries nuptials and engagements in October, and organizations could welcome you into their fold but also events in the lives of partners, family and close associates could affect your plans and prospects. October is a time when others need to be heard, and it is your job to attend to their needs. It is also a time when the advice of others should be listened to, and in most cases taken.

Compared to September's stormy offerings, October is a far, far easier month but it does contain some potholes. These come largely in the form of Saturn, and they appear on or near the 13th and 20th. Around these dates, play it by the rules and don't attempt to cut corners or make a threat or promise that you cannot fulfil. Saturn always shows us where we have overstepped the mark, so these dates could be ones when a financial reality has to faced, some other moment of truth hits you like a sledgehammer!

There are two eclipses in October - the first on the 14th and the second on the 28th. And while the total lunar eclipse of the 28th is more powerful (and on the financial axis, bringing a monetary matter to crunch point), the 14th's solar eclipse falls in the area of relationships. This eclipse also forges a link to last April's eclipse in your sign. Thus, for some Arians events that took place in April reach their conclusion in mid-to-late October, and should a bolt from the blue emerge around the 14th, it may well have its origins in mid-to-late April.

Nevertheless, although I have mentioned some 'danger' spots in October, a better, happier, more successful phase has begun.

1st November 2004 - 30th November 2004

This could be one of your best months of 2004, largely due to the presence of Venus in the relationship zone. Venus always does her bit to get your love life moving and motoring, so stale relationships perk up and new romances begin. And even if you're not waltzing down the aisle with Mr or Ms Right, a tango with Mr or Ms Wrong could be nothing to complain about. Friday 5th puts Venus and Jupiter together - and in the seventh house of love and relating - so offers and invitations that are given then should be accepted whole-heartedly and developments on or near that date promise to add greatly to your happiness and success. Certainly, November is a month when you'll discover who loves you and who definitely does not.

And speaking of those who may not love you, Saturn's difficult angle to Mars (7th) and to Venus (20th) could produce two of the month's upsets. Thanks to Saturn you discover the limitations of life, and you also run into brick walls invariably in the form of people opposed to you and your ideas. If an endeavour grinds to a halt around these dates, or an association goes into a nose-dive, do your best to remain upbeat and approachable - not everything that falls apart under Saturn is irreparable.

The 20th marks the beginning of a ten-day period that contains enough planetary ammunition to start a small war. While you may be out of the direct line of fire, you could be living or working with people who are in the centre of a storm, therefore, be prepared to be tolerant and supportive of others, and, of course, there's no harm in going very carefully yourself during these last few days of November.

1st December 2004 - 31st December 2004

We Arians are almost as keen on travel as our brothers, the Archers, and we have plenty of opportunities to stretch our wings and cross frontiers in December. Of course, there is a small matter of retrograde Mercury, and a troublesome set of Pluto alignments, but with a little bit of Jupiterian luck we'll be heading away from problems, or at least gaining the means and the perception to successfully deal with them.

The ninth house of the horoscope isn't just about getting out your passport and heading to distant places, it's about reaching beyond your normal boundaries for answers, fulfillment or just plain experience. Creating long-term plans and setting up new blue-prints for the future are two more themes that emerge with a ninth house transit, matters to do with education and religion are also in the mix. And for you December is often a month when one or more of these things has a real relevance in your life. You may be able to sign a contract, tie up a legal matter and you'll certainly be making contact with people and places on foreign soil.

However, a retrograde Mercury and a series of aspects to Pluto will make for complications, detours and delays. And the periods during which to expect the most interference with your plans are around the 7th, 12th - 14th, 18th and 31st. Christmas is always a time when there are extra demands for travel and considerable pressure is exerted on all systems of communications, including postage, so although Mercury manages to turn direct five days before Christmas, if you're travelling before then or trying to tie up plans and arrangements, don't leave anything until the last minute or to chance.

A full moon presides over the Christmas weekend, so emotions will be running high - great in some households but oh so tense in others. And with the New Year coming in on a Uranus and Pluto note, it seems many Arians will be entering a whole new phase of their lives in 2005.

1st January 2005 - 31st January 2005

Question: Do we like January? Answer: Not a lot. The year opens on a Mars-Uranus square, followed by conjunctions from Mercury and Venus to Pluto so quiet and uneventful is not how I'd describe the first week of the month, if not the second, third and fourth too. Venus and Mercury are both in the area of far horizons, so travel and news from distant places are likely to be the reasons for any controversy or changes of plan: and with aspects to Saturn on the 10th, 13th and 27th from his standpoint in the area of home and family, other challenges for Aries will tend to be domestically related. A burst pipe, perhaps, or a simmering family situation reaching boiling point. What you will need in spades in January is common sense, a cool head and faith in your self.

The sun will be transiting the tenth house of career and life-direction so January is also a month when you should be focusing on professional ambitions. The sun-Saturn opposition of the 13th could reveal the limitations of a job or the fact that you have taken on an unacceptably large burden, therefore a re-think or a redesign of your schedule could be in order. (And this is especially so for the 8th - 15th April birthdays.) However, Venus will also be in the tenth house from the 9th January onwards, and this transit is often coincident with career successes, and the ability to find people to back you and your ideas. Indeed, the period between the 18th and 24th could be very bullish indeed.

From the 25th, the cosmos returns to its opening-of-the-year state, so particularly between the 25th and 29th you'll need to treat people with kid gloves and to avoid any kind of aggressive action. Once February gets rolling, life will be easier, happier and generally to Aries liking.

1st February 2005 - 28th February 2005

The one good thing about February is that it's not January. Actually, there are many wonderful features to February's stars, which I will expand upon shortly, and they are certainly a great, great improvement on January's alignments.

The main thrust of the planets is aimed at friendships and collaborations. While some Arians will be devoting more time to their friends and enjoying a spirited social life, others will be joining up with like-minded individuals with the purpose of mounting an endeavour of the professional, altruistic or social kind. Now, it hasn't escaped my notice that Valentine's Day occurs this month, and while there may be many celestial Rams getting married or engaged, this year the astrological emphasis is on the spirit of friendship as opposed to the joy of passion. In other words, the focus of your relationship should be on working as a team, and treating your significant other like you would your best friend. Venus, the planet of love, will be transiting your sign from late March until mid-April, so this is more truly the time to expect romance to blossom.

Ruler, Mars will be charging through the zone of career and life-direction so February is also a time to pursue your professional ambitions and to put energy behind material aspects of your life. While Mars could produce the occasional skirmish between you and an employer, you should be able to impress those who count with your expertise and your commitment to the job. And, if January's stars deflated your ego, and caused some kind of upset regarding a job, the next four weeks see you back in the saddle, and with a conquest.

Until the 20th the planets are on their best behaviour, making life a lot easier and more fun, but during the last eight days unpredictable Uranus takes control, so there is more static to cope with, and you may face sudden changes to your agenda. Uranus is tucked away in the secretive twelfth house, so on the plus side the end of February could spark some great new ideas but on the minus side you may be prone to feelings of anxiety. Since the sun will also be residing in the twelfth house, health requires a little more attention and you should avoid pushing yourself beyond your physical and mental limits. But these are small niggles in another wise excellent month.

1st March 2005 - 31st March 2005

With the sun slip-sliding away in the land of mists and murk - the twelfth house to you and me - you may not be the brightest bulb on the tree in March; on the other hand your dream life could be riveting. The sun enters your own sign on the 20th March this year, so until that date you could consider yourself to be hibernating or preparing the ground in some way. Between the 1st and 20th is an ideal time to put health under the microscope, whether you attend to a problem that you have been avoiding for some while or whether you take a general look at your health and fitness levels. Clearly, you cannot climb all those mountains when you're not in peak form! Venus, the planet of love, pleasure and harmony, is also secreted in the twelfth house until the 23rd, so don't be surprised if your love life takes a temporary dip, or if you feel less inclined to party, and less impressed with life's beauty. Good spirits will return before Easter.

We will all be suffering from the Pluto effect in March: this planet forges three major angles to Mercury (1st) the sun (14th) and Venus (18th), not to mention the new moon in Pisces (10th), so on or near these dates in particular you should not expect an easy ride. Since Pluto is currently residing in the zone of far horizons, travel and dialogues with people at a distance could be the primary source of any aggro; on the other hand if you have been in denial about anything, prepare to be enlightened!

Mars, on the other hand, is on top form in the zone of career and life direction, so technically this should be a period to pursue your ambitions with gusto, and your plans should have turbo power. However, given the strong twelfth house influence, my advice would be to take the pedal off the metal for much of March, and especially around the 7th, to avoid locking horns with employers, authority figures, or indeed anyone who has power and influence on your life. April is going to be a far better month for climbing those mountains.

On the 20th the vernal equinox announces the arrival of the sun in your sign, and three days later Venus enters Aries too, thus you should be in sparkling, and possibly very romantic, form for Easter. And even though Mercury goes into reverse thrust on the 20th, thus interfering with the smooth flow of communications, Aries can turn this to its advantage by enjoying life in the slow lane and reconnecting with times past. Happy days!

1st April 2005 - 30th April 2005

Birthday month certainly starts out on a joyful note even if you have to get serious by the 10th (more about this shortly). The sun's return to your sign regenerates your batteries and gives you back your pizzazz, but although you may want to steam into action immediately, it might be more prudent to wait until Mercury in your signs turns direct (12th). By that time the darker side of situations will have been revealed and you should know where you stand.

The weekend of the 2nd finds the sun and Venus, the planet of grace and balance, in your sign opposing larger than life, Jupiter. This double-whammy has the power to bring you great success now, or in the future based on the actions you take at this time. And this is especially so should you have a birthday on or near this date. This would be a perfect weekend upon which to marry or to celebrate a loving anniversary: it would also be an ideal time to heal a rift or to inject some life into a moribund situation.

By the 8th, the cosmos looks rather different. On this day a Venus-Saturn square and a solar eclipse in Aries, urge caution, and suggest a disappointment or set-back. And with the sun squaring Saturn on the 10th and Mercury getting back on track on the 12th, there is a sense of realities being revealed. Certainly, at this time you should not exceed your limitations or attempt to bend the rules. Saturn has been known to reward hard work and to deliver you from a difficulty with which you have been struggling for some time, but you would be better taking the stance that a comeuppance of some description could be in the pipe-line: actions have consequences, and Saturn insists that you understand this. By contrast, should you be signing yourself up to a long-term agreement or making a serious decision, Saturn will help you do so, and with conviction.

On the 13th ruler, Mars, hooks up to Neptune, creating some self-doubt and causing some general confusion. However, provided you check all information and do not act on rumour or your gut feelings, the earlier realizations made and actions taken under Saturn should hold firm.

The second half of the month is far easier on the Aries nervous system. The best things in life appear to have a foreign connection or will be related to far off plans. You may also find that what appeared to be such a giant pain in that 7th-13th April period has some distinct advantages, or can be worked through.

1st May 2005 - 31st May 2005

It's May! It's May. The merry, merry month of May. Or goes so the song from Camelot. I'm not sure that I can describe this May as merry but I know you won't be bored! The areas principally in focus are finances and communications, and in regard to both you'll need to be flexible and realistic.

During the first week, Saturn and Neptune share the honours. Saturn encourages us to face facts and put endeavours on a solid and lasting basis while Neptune inspires us to follow our dreams and forget all about facts and figures. In other words, you could be see-sawing between optimism and pessimism, perhaps because one aspect of your life is coming up roses while another is blowing you raspberries, or maybe one situation is continually presenting different versions of itself. Where finances are concerned, be circumspect, waiting until you have an offer on paper before you celebrate and keeping your costs and your expectations on the low side. Neptune, on the other hand, could be creating confusion in a working or personal association, and you may have to wait until the week of the 9th before establishing the truth.

Uranus dominates the mid-part of May: on the 15th, this planet hooks up with your ruler, Mars, making you extra impulsive, causing you to jump to conclusions and make silly mistakes. You could be less than your physical best at this time, so avoid pushing yourself beyond your emotional and physical limits and don't overreact to people's statements or news that you receive. By contrast, Uranus could produce a wonderful surprise or introduce you to someone who or something that will change your outlook, if not your life horizons.

The period between the 17th and 30th May is a delicate one for travel and communications: this is not a time to rush to your destinations or to judgment - the phrase, more haste less speed, comes to mind. The full moon of the 23rd could preside over the signing of a contract or the successful conclusion to a series of discussions, yet this same full moon could also presage some news from abroad that makes you less than ecstatic. Certainly, should these last ten days reveal signs of distress in a plan, project or alliance, take them seriously and wave the olive branch.

1st June 2005 - 30th June 2005

Fasten your seatbelts, Aries - June promises to be a roller coaster ride for the whole zodiac. Dates to mark in your diary are the 1st-3rd, 8th, and 26th-28th - times when, at the very least, other people are more likely to be tense, moody and downright awkward, although these are also times when you can unload rather a lot of unwanted baggage. As they say to be forewarned is forearmed...

Now, before you skip to some other astrology site, let me assure you that your long-term future is in safe hands - Jupiter is a great protector and Saturn is serving to help you shore up weak structures. However, when the cosmos is a stormy as it is between the 1st and 15th, you need to curb your impulsive nature and deal with any developing crisis in a calm and logical way. The areas of communication are highlighted at this time, so information reaching you could upset your equilibrium. Perhaps a contract has come to an end, or a planned holiday/journey has to be postponed but whatever appears in your life as a major blot on your current and future landscape, there will be ways around the situation. What you must avoid at all costs is going on the offensive and making matters ten times worse than they need be.

On the 12th, ruler Mars arrives in the area of love and relating. Now, this may be very good news for a lacklustre sex life, but while this planet can work wonders in the ferrimone department, it can reveal enemies and certainly hot up the competition. Thus, realistically, the advice given in the preceding paragraph applies beyond the 15th June and until the end of July.

Communication is indeed all this month - what you say, how you say it and what response you get. It would be wise to make no assumptions about what another person is thinking and to double check arrangements to avoid misunderstandings. On the plus side, the sun, Venus and Mercury are all offering you the energy and the creativity to find new solutions to old problems but on the down side you may have to yield to other people's wishes and needs. The period since April may have brought you some personal challenges in which case June's alignments provide a welcome opportunity to refine your ideas and implement new personal and professional blueprints.

One final thought - the last week of the month brings Saturn into the foreground. As you may well have discovered by now you cannot cut corners on Saturn's watch, yet if your integrity is in tact and you have worked hard towards a specific goal, this planet will give you a result..

1st July 2005 - 31st July 2005

The good news is that July promises to be a much kinder month than June for all of us, so although you cannot afford to dump all your responsibilities and act with impunity, singing the blues should be a thing of the past. The bulk of the planets will be in the area of home and family, giving you the perfect opportunity to redecorate, refurbish, even move house, and to put family values first. Indeed, Aries tends to be a sign that likes to be on the move and conquering new territory, but while you may travel in July, the most rewarding experiences are likely to take place on home ground.

This having been said, Saturn has been providing robust life-lessons in this same area of your horoscope for the last two years so you could be forgiven for believing that you've been there, done that and got the 'T'-shirt when it comes to family business. With this in mind the full moon of the 21st marks the end of this Saturn cycle, so you may well find that there is one final lesson to learn by heart or that a situation which has been trundling on for some years becomes resolved at last. Saturn's passage through your fellow fire sign, Leo, will be a far more rewarding experience, bringing some of you recognition for your labours and others a stronger sense of their own identity and purpose.

Ruler Mars will be in your sign until the 29th so you should make the most of the extra oomph this planet generates to get ambitious plans off the ground and to attack situations that have been lying fallow. However, you also need to remind yourself that Mars will make you even more impatient so there will be an equally strong trend for sudden emotional squalls and conflict with authority and/or close associates.

The last ten days of July are probably the most challenging. Mercury will turn retrograde on the 23rd, clogging up the wheels of communication and transportation - and just in time for the big holiday season. Also, on the weekend of the 30th Mars and Saturn square each other, leading to a dip in the happiness barometer, perhaps because of a disappointment or financial blip. But these are small things in an otherwise pleasant month.

1st August 2005 - 31st August 2005

Take heart, Aries - August looks set to be much more your kind of month. The cosmic spotlight sweeps through the pleasure zone of your chart bringing fun, creativity and romance - all the things that make life worth living - to the top of your agenda. At the very least, you should question how much you've been enjoying yourself recently and if the answer is " not enough " why not seize this month's chance to do something enjoyable, just for its own sake. Bring the fun-you out of storage.

Nonetheless, as we tip into August, the heavy aura of Saturn hovers over all our affairs so the first few days could be less than joyous. Clearly, the terrorist outrages of mid-to-late July have left deep scars and generated many fears, although you may have personal reasons why this period is less than wonderful. Saturn's sharp link to ruler, Mars, on July 31st could mean that August opens on a financially challenging note or with some other development that temporarily dims your optimism. Treat events at this time in a practical way - dramas of any sort are best left where they belong, in the theatre.

Mars continues his transit of the money zone, stimulating your earning capacity and your resourcefulness, however this trend will be in effect until February 2006, so you will have further opportunities to seed money-winning projects and generally get to grips with your financial affairs. While I am not encouraging you to turn a blind eye to a monetary problem in August I am suggesting that you delay making radical amendments to existing policies - all may not be quite as it seems, which could lead to poor advice and unsafe actions. What you can do is keep within your budget now, and avoid any get-rich-quick schemes or impulse purchases.

One of August's major pluses is the arrival of beautiful Venus in the area of relationships. Between the 17th August and 11th September this planet will work her magic on your love life in particular and relationships in general - indeed, this is the premium period of 2005 to meet prospective partners and to put light-hearted romances onto a long-term footing. And while not every romantic and sexual wrong can be put to rights, those intimate and working relationships that may have seen better days can experience something of a comeback.

Two other reasons why pleasure should go to the top of your agenda this month are Neptune and retrograde Mercury. Neptune is the most unrealistic of influences to deal with - facts, figures and timetables go walk-about when this planet is in the ascendancy and any escapist tendencies you may have are inflated. Likewise, until the 16th retrograde Mercury turns simple journeys into slow and convoluted sagas, and getting reliable information is well nigh impossible. Put real life and deadlines on hold and make the most of your time in manyana-land!

1st September 2005 - 30th September 2005

If you've got some long cherished goals and ambitions - and which Aries hasn't? - then this is the month to dust them off and polish them up. Practicality combined with strategic thinking is the name of the game, and any effort you put into overhauling your grand vision will pay handsome dividends further down the road. The sun and Mercury will be transiting the sixth house of work, service and life-systems (which applies as much to your health as it does your daily routines) so, although you may not relish all that attention to detail and the necessity to streamline certain aspects of your existence, such practices will be to your benefit.

Speaking of which, a series of alignments involving Uranus and Pluto has more than a small capacity to eliminate the outmoded and the inappropriate. While the period between the 1st and 18th could prove destablizing in global terms, you too could feel as though circumstances beyond your control have interfered with your plans and wishes. Especially on or near the weekend of the 17th you may be on the receiving end of some disappointing news or discover that a venture or project upon which you'd pinned high hopes is simply not feasible at this time. Other people may be relishing pouring cold water on your hopes and dreams. This doesn't mean that you should abandon your goals and walk away; rather use the time to quietly take a different perspective and come up with something even better. By next month the eclipses in your own sign will open doors you never realised existed, so keep the faith in your own instincts.

As a counterbalance to Uranus, Pluto et al, early in September a Venus-Jupiter conjunction offers you some heart-warming moments in your closest relationships. If one special partnership has been under strain in recent times, these cosmic benefactors can be used to rekindle the flame. Some of you may discover to your delight that you are very much loved and cherished by a certain someone. For others, this could be the perfect moment to declare your feelings and risk all for love.

1st October 2005 - 30th October 2005

Aries may be the lone warrior of the zodiac but that doesn't mean you don't enjoy being with other people and having close relationships - you just like to run the show and have your own way! Well, all you ever wanted to know and more about relationships is the subject of October's stars. The sun and Mercury will be transiting the zone of love and relating, and with two eclipses focusing on the same area, there could be some intriguing, even somewhat fated, developments set to take place.

The eclipse of the 3rd October is a solar one, and accompanied as it is by a Mercury-Jupiter conjunction it seems that a new and rewarding relationship is on its way, whether this is a working, romantic or friendly association. This eclipse also heralds a brand new phase for a long-established relationship. The lunar eclipse of the 17th contains much the same message, although there is an additional suggestion that before you go on to open a new chapter, an old one must end, which may involve a painful parting. The weekend of the 15th has a Saturnian aura surrounding it, inspiring tough decisions and maybe some hard-to-swallow news. Still, Jupiter has yet to make its conjunction with the sun (22nd) so any sadness or disappointment should give way to joy, or at least a sense that you have much to look forward to in the future. For some Arians, especially those with late April birthdays the period around the 22nd could be one of great success and happiness - certainly events taking place at this time have much to recommend them.

Ruler, Mars, is beating a retreat - and in the money zone - so you will have to be very careful with financial transactions. I may well have urged you to be prudent and economical last month, and I'm afraid nothing has changed. On the plus side, if you're prepared to go over old bank statements and credit card statements you may come across some anomalies that will work out in your favour. Also, a deal that was thought to be done and dusted could come back to be re-appraised. Maybe for once Aries can forget about blazing a new trail, at least where finances are concerned, and take a second look at an old subject.

A month with two eclipses affecting your sign has to be of significance, so don't ignore small signals - distress or otherwise - and look beneath the surface of events for their true nature.

1st November 2005 - 30th November 2005

Being one of the zodiac's most cheerful spenders you'll know all about counting the cost... and often that cost has to be accounted for in November, the reason being that for much of this month each year the sun passes through the area of financial exchange. On the one hand, the next three weeks becomes a time when you can discuss to good effect policies and practices with financial institutions, and a time when agreements can be signed, especially those relating to property or monetary settlements. What you will have to bear in mind this November is that Saturn and Neptune are in the way of straight forward negotiations and, particularly on or near the 7th and 16th you must be absolutely sure that what you are signing up for is going to be in your best interests: leave no loopholes and consider the worst case scenario before you commit pen to paper.

This area of the chart also has much to do with the deeper layers of relationships, so November is a month when buried issues surface with a view to allowing you and your significant other to resolve problems. Some Arians could experience a deepening of a relationship that began some months ago while others may feel that their partner is less emotionally available to them.

On the 5th Venus will begin its four month sojourn at the mid-heaven of your solar chart, and since this planet is largely beneficial, you can expect to see some very welcome developments, especially in regard to your career and mainstream ambitions. Should you be unhappy in your job or concerned that you are not making the right kind of progress, now is the time to talk to superiors and to seek the right kind of vehicle for your talents and ambitions. Hopefully, by January, you will be on your way to success.

Just how much Mercury's retrograde move between 14th November and 4th December will help or hinder you remains to be seen. On the plus side, you may find that revisiting people and places in your past will give rise to a new project or will shed light on a deadlocked situation but on the minus side, you may experience delays with contracts and plans.

On the 22nd, the sun arrives in the zone of far horizons, all set to widen your sights, whether in the sense of travel or experience.

1st December 2005 - 31st December 2005

As December gets into gear distant horizons beckon, making this a premium time to peruse travel brochures and consider your holiday options. With Saturn in your pleasure zone for the coming year you may be more conservative than usual, whether this is caused by a shortage of cash or time. Nevertheless, you stand to profit from your excursions and adventures. And if foreign travel is not the subject of December's long-term planning, further study may be the way to go! Also, with Uranus in charge in early December there is a spirit of excitement in the air, and since Mercury will turn direct on the 4th it seems the blocks in the pipeline of life are over.

Not that December is all sweetness and light. On the 16th the sun joins Pluto in the aforementioned zone of travel, higher education, philosophy and religion. Pluto transforms your life by turning it upside down and giving it a good shake; some of you, therefore, could be more spiritually motivated at this time, and events may restore your faith in mankind. If there is a common denominator here, it is that journeys, whether in the literal or metaphorical sense, tend to change the way you view the world. Then again, there could be much happening in the world out there too, which could in turn change your opinions, values, and even a long-range plan or two.

Until the 15th Venus will be transiting the zone of career and ambitions, helping you plant the seeds of future success, and in some cases giving you clear proof that you're a winner. Venus will be going to and fro in this same area until 5th March so you have an extended period in which to further your dreams and aspirations. Arians rarely need encouragement to promote themselves or their ambitions but you may well have been hit by the recent planetary deluge and could do with my urging you to contact people of power and influence. Please set out your market stall.

Between Christmas and New Year both Saturn and Pluto insist on coming to the party, so do your best not to push yourself too hard, and if the weather or the family are against you, acquiescence is the better part of valour. Indeed, as the New Year comes in swallow any feelings of resentment and frustration. Tomorrow is another day...

1st January 2006 - 31st January 2006

As the new year begins, distant horizons beckon and since the sun is now highlighting your career and professional achievements it may be that working abroad is an option to be considered. You are hugely ambitious by nature and the sun's presence in your career zone will re-generate your desire for success. Even if you are happily settled in your current job, this is a good time to set yourself some new targets to aim at during the coming year, but with Venus retrograde, don't expect immediate results.

Mars in your money zone is also giving you the willpower and energy to increase your earnings, but, as fast as the cash comes in, you could find you are spending it with great gusto. Home and family are the most likely source of expenditure and, since property is a key feature this year, it's not such a bad idea to invest in your nest. Nonetheless, Jupiter is the planet of excess so avoid going completely bananas in the January sales, especially on and around the weekend of the 14th when Mars will be opposing Jupiter. This aspect may also light your fire in other ways so do your best not to let rip at anything or anybody who stands in your way. Practice restraint - I know how you love that word.

During the second half of January, a friend or collaborative project may prove to be the source of concern or disappointment, and you could feel let down or rejected. Before you point the finger of blame, however, ask yourself whether your own actions have contributed in any way. You are not known for your tact and diplomacy, Aries, and you might just be a tad too assertive for some more sensitive flowers to handle. Serious discussions towards the end of the month could sort matters out once and for all, and you could be making fresh starts, whether because you have cut dead wood from your life, or because you have resolved your problems and reached a new level of understanding. Saturn is responsible for any disappointments or difficulties during the latter part of January, and while you should always aim to take something of value from a painful experience, sometimes you just have to pick yourself up, dust yourself down and get back in the saddle.

You will certainly be feeling more sociable and creative with the sun in Aquarius (20th onwards) and after the rather intense focus on work and getting ahead earlier in the month it is no bad thing to enjoy the company of like-minded people and those who are as essentially fun loving as yourself.

1st February 2006 - 28th February 2006

As we skip forward into February, you are beginning to rediscover your sociable side and to realise that you need other people in your life to feel whole and connected to something greater than yourself. By mixing in groups, whether they be friends or people sharing your goals and endeavours, you will feel a sense of belonging and comfort which will bring more depth and intimacy into your life. So, if you receive a party invitation, accept it; if you feel the need to join a club, do so; in short, you need to get out more and join the throng at least in the first half of the month.

By Valentine's day a chapter will be ending in your love life or a creative project will be completed and this could give you renewed enthusiasm for taking a new direction in your career. This might not be the romantic message you were hoping for, but remember, as one door closes, another one opens... If you receive blinding flashes of insight at this time which appear from nowhere, take note because Mercury and Uranus could be inspiring you in their own inimitable way. Uranus is the planet of genius and is currently transiting your subconscious zone, so dreams could have particular relevance now. (The trick of course is in their interpretation!)

On the 18th, the sun's entry into the deep and meaningful twelfth house heralds a four-week period of retreat and reflection, thus, should you feel like withdrawing in physical and emotional terms during the latter half of the month, never fear. Even turbo-charged Ariens need to re-generate themselves at some point. Since ruler, Mars, heads into the communications zone on the 17th a conflict could develop between the need to travel and make connections with others, and your deeper need for seclusion. Some of you, for example, might find that your job demands that you keep on the move, but secretly you are longing to curl up in a quiet corner somewhere. Beware of being a tad too assertive with neighbours or close associates at this time... we all know you can stand up for yourself but you might just overdo it and actually seem quite scary to people in your vicinity.

February ends on a dramatic note, largely due to a hard angle between Mercury and Pluto - an epiphany, perhaps, or simply a sense that something has to be done about a painful situation that has gone on far too long.

1st March 2006 - 31st March 2006

During much of March the sun's passage through the subterranean twelfth house will be informing you that you are not superhuman (I realize this may be a shock to you) and sometimes even you need to slow down in order to take stock of your life. You are used to being in the driver's seat but a situation you hadn't bargained for could make you slow down temporarily. This is a time to look inward and to reflect upon changes for the better that are being made for you - they might not be the changes you wanted but they will be the changes you needed, and your psyche must adapt accordingly. The first weekend of March would be an ideal time for you to go away on a spiritual retreat - or at least to have some quality time to yourself: Pluto is in the mix, thus your belief systems are being tested and re-structured. You may also be called upon to be of service to others this month, but you will actually benefit from this and gain more depth in your life and thus more satisfaction.

March is a pivotal month for the whole zodiac: it begins with a volatile sun-Uranus conjunction and ends on a total solar eclipse in Aries, and in between there are tough connections to Saturn and Pluto, not to mention a retrograde Mercury. Clearly, the next six to eight weeks are going to produce some powerful events on the world's stage, and we can expect to see some leadership changes, a reshuffle or two in the corridors of power, even a natural or not-so-natural disaster. And where travel and communications are concerned, we can forget about getting anywhere in a hurry and a straight line. Of course, tough alignments produce wonderful events too, so don't rule out announcements of marriage in royal/celebrity circles and a major scientific or medical break-through.

And speaking of eclipses... The lunar eclipse of the 14th appears in your health and lifestyle zone. It may be that you began a rigorous diet or exercise routine several months ago and you now realise it was too extreme and need to ease off. Some of you will be patting yourselves on the back having reached a target weight or fitness level. And those of you who have not been looking after yourself could receive a wake-up call. Are you working too hard, over-amping, or ignoring a minor distress signal? If so, this eclipse will urge you into action and certainly stir your courage. The solar eclipse of the 29th is no doubt the more important of the two, and especially if you have a birthday then (or three days either side of the 29th) the signs are that a new era is about to begin, which could be made manifest by a new romantic relationship, a career opening, a different home or family addition. Not that solar eclipses should be treated lightly. Should you have been continuing upon a path that is no longer appropriate, the time has come to make a detour - unless, of course, you want fate to do it for you?

1st April 2006 - 30th April 2006

With the sun now in your own sign you should feel revitalised and ready for action, and in many cases the further you go the better. While for some Arians this trend may apply to long haul travel, others will be taking big steps career-wise or in regard to personal life. Relationships come under the spotlight too, and it may be that some of you are realising it is time to let go and move on. (More about this shortly.)

The week of the 3rd finds Mars and Pluto in opposition, thus upping the potential for conflict and certainly confrontation. We will surely see some impressive results of escalating tension in the Middle East prior to Easter, and the Bush administration will have to be very careful how it plays events in the early to mid part of this month. While in the Christian World Easter is a time of celebration, for many other creeds it is simply business as usual. This opposition flanks your solar axis of communication, so while it is possible that a contract can be struck, or some other matter finally settled, almighty rows could erupt. Remember Aries, patience is a virtue, and the least said, soonest mended etc. You may also need to take extra care when moving from A to B and please grit your teeth and smile sweetly if somebody cuts you up on the motorway or pushes in front of you in the bus queue.

The full moon of the 13th highlights partnerships of all kinds and since Mercury is also squaring Pluto on the very same day, you will be able to get to the heart of any matter with serious, intense discussion. However, relationships which are floundering may reach the end of the road, and although this may be painful, you will be removing the dead wood from your life and clearing the way for new growth. And we're not necessarily talking about romantic relationships here - business partnerships or any people who figure prominently in your life could be subject to the above mentioned trends. The good news is that Saturn turned direct in your house of love and creativity on the 5thwhich encourages romances or ventures made of the right stuff to move on to a more committed and level.

Money matters are in the frame after the 20th and you may be reviewing your budget, deciding on what are essentials and what are luxuries. By the 25th you should have a good idea about which route to take and will feel more settled, knowing that you can form long-term plans and take the necessary steps to make your future secure. For some of you this will mean putting pleasure, temporarily on the back burner, although with Venus angling Pluto on the weekend of the 29th there could be a very passionate end to April.

1st May 2006 - 31st May 2006

Your finances could receive a boost this month as the sun resides in your money zone and opposes Jupiter. Jupiter is one of the good guys in astrology - a bringer of gifts and opportunities - in this case directed at finances, however there is a sting in the tail here: if you are generally being sensible with your money, Jupiter will indeed bring rewards your way, but, if you have been extravagant, then this mighty planet could turn a fast flowing river of money out of your account into an uncontrollable torrent. It may be that you feel your partner has been over-spending, in which case on or near the 8th Mercury and Saturn will enable you to conduct some serious talks. Any anger that you are feeling then will be deep-rooted and highly sensitive because it touches upon your family and the things you hold most dear, and if your security is under threat in any way you will do your utmost to defend yourself and your loved ones.

One of the real pluses to May is that the lovely Venus will be in your sign, adding to your bank of charm and success, and increasing your desire to love and be loved. This would be the perfect month in which to marry, and should you meet someone now - especially on or near the 4th or 26th - the union should lead to great things. Also, if your confidence has been zapped by a series of professional or personal disappointments, this is the month to get back in the saddle and strut your remarkable stuff.

Another fascinating feature of May is the presence of a Grand Cross - an alignment of four or more planets, made up of squares and oppositions, which is in play between the 4th and 15th. Without becoming too technical, when planets are in this tense alignment, they bring all manner of issues to crunch point, and there is a feeling of having reached a giant cross-roads. While this configuration will certainly present itself in the form of moral and political crises for world leaders, in our own lives we too must make some wise decisions in a confusing and pressurized climate. Your crossroads may well centre on money and self-worth, whether you have a cash-flow problem to resolve or you feel short-changed by a partner or organization. Only you can decide whether it is wise to cut your losses now or to throw down the gauntlet and see how other people will respond.

After the 21st, the sun and Mercury will have both entered your travel and communication zone and since the new moon of the 27th is also in this area, you should be getting out and about - and possibly some considerable distance - and receiving or making more phone calls, e mails, letters etc. In short you'll have plenty of opportunity for making contact with the outside world in whichever way you choose. Money worries should fade into the background, especially as Venus enters Taurus on the 29th, promising gifts in this area of life. A surprise communication around the 26th could put you back in touch with a romantic figure from your past - there's an element of secrecy to this contact and it may even be a foreigner or someone who lives abroad. As May ends you could well be feeling romantic and inspired as you realise just how much you have missed talking to someone special.

I am sorry this forecast was delayed. The original sending was lost and both my webmaster and I have been in transit over the last 3 days. We have now added better facilities for updating forecasts.

1st June 2006 - 30th June 2006

It seems as though you are going on a journey this month Aries, whether literally, taking off for foreign shores, or metaphorically, going on a spiritual quest. You have the opportunity now of communicating your deepest feelings and desires to friends or lovers and in doing so you can bring more intimacy into your life. What you must try to avoid is angry outbursts because these will not encourage people to see you in a favourable light. Mars is the ruler of Aries and you can use the fierce energy of this planet to assert yourself in a calm manner if need be.

This month puts Uranus and Pluto centre stage and, since many countries have major events planned for June, these alignments underscore the importance and celebratory nature of national occasions, yet they will surely produce some shocks and tremors too. On the 3rd, Mars enters the regal sign of Leo for a six week transit and on the 18th this assertive planet hooks up to heavy-metal Saturn - and at the same time as the sun- Pluto opposition. Mid-month, therefore, will be a time to watch for international dramas and the push comes to shove syndrome. This conjunction falls on President Bush's Mercury- Pluto-Ascendant combo and Tony Blair's South Node, so neither of them is in great shape in June and there could be some serous threats to their tenure as leaders (as if they haven't enough already.) If travelling physically rather than metaphysically, sudden, unexpected incidents could change your course or even transform your life in some way. The outer planets, Uranus and Pluto are responsible for these changes and their energy is not the easiest to deal with. If, in aiming to get from A to B you somehow end up at Z, try to be philosophical and treat it as a learning curve.

Financial matters may require some attention, especially if you are tempted to overspend when you know your budget will not stretch that far. You might need to put your foot down with loved ones if they are the ones frittering away your hard earned cash. The good news is that Venus is passing through your money zone which suggests that there should, generally speaking, be more cash available now.

By the end of the month some of you may be moving to a new home as the new moon in Cancer indicates fresh starts on the domestic front. If you're not moving house this would be a good time to begin a home improvement project or get the paintbrushes out and re-vamp your décor.

One way or another it has not been an easy journey for you in recent months and there is a distinct feeling in these stars that there are lessons to be learnt and, though the learning may test your inner resources, you will emerge from these trying times a better and wiser person. Don't be afraid of asking for help from trusted friends if need be as there are great reservoirs of support available to you if only you will allow yourself to show your vulnerable side once in a while.

1st July 2006 - 31st July 2006

Hearth and home take precedence in July. The sun will be passing through the fourth solar house, encouraging you to revitalize family relationships and focus all that Aries energy on home management. Mercury, the planet of travel and communication will be retrograding throughout the month, reminding you of the past and enabling you to rethink one or more of your strategies. Ideally, you should take the opportunity to rest and relax, at least on the weekends - a little bit more reflection as opposed to action could aid your course considerably. Indeed, you may experience a sense of going to ground, perhaps because of a recent dispiriting episode or simply a need to re-charge your creative batteries.

After the planetary heat of June, July's influences have much to recommend them. Even with Mercury in retrograde between the 4th and 29th, there are many benign alignments, and in tandem, national and international affairs may be more fruitful than fraught. However, the Grand Cross in fixed signs will be loosely in place, so it may seem as if more than one situation is refusing to budge, and there will be very little give when it comes to matters of law and law enforcement. Many of the world's leading figures, including Tony Blair, George Bush, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip have relentless Saturn and nebulous Neptune on key planets and points in their natal charts, and it remains a mystery to me as to why the gathering gloom has not yet resulted in a truly serious crisis, although leaked information from the enquiry into the death of Princess Diana must be sending seismic waves through Britain's corridors of power. With this in mind, events on or near the Mars-Neptune opposition of the 5th and the full moon in Capricorn of the 11th could precipitate a minor tsunami... Pluto also puts in a double appearance on the 14th so the first half of July looks to be the most scandal ridden and generally explosive.

It may be asking much of Aries to exhibit patience and trust throughout the month, but this you must do, if only to retain your clarity and sanity. While the Venus transit of your third house of travel and dialogues bodes well for journeys, discussions and meetings - indeed, there could be more than a flutter of romance in transit or on unfamiliar territory - it may take until September for a contract to be signed or some other plan to be confirmed. When Venus moves on to spread sweetness and light in domestic circles she will also boost finances during the final week of the month, but once again you will need to display some patience and self-restraint when it comes to spending and investment.

Choose the weekend of the 29th for a fun event or a serious celebration - a romance could take an unexpected turn at this time and change of the best kind is more than in the air.

1st August 2006 - 31st August 2006

With the sun transiting the sociable and self-expressive fifth house of your solar chart, you should be at the top of your game, but, this year, Saturn has stuck his oar in, and although you may enjoy some serious pursuits and gain pleasure from taking a position of responsibility, somehow fun, sheer unadulterated fun, could be missing. To be honest the problem is not yours alone. A Fixed 'T'-cross will prevail throughout the entire month, and since Saturn and Neptune form the cross-bar, your mood may swing from optimistic to pessimistic day by day, in tandem with the way situations appear to be moving. Saturn and Neptune give conflicting messages: while Saturn provides reality and sets endeavours in cement, Neptune does his best to weave webs of fantasy and turn perfectly good plans into papermache. Thus, while one situation could be nicely settled another could be all over the place. Likewise, people may be easy to handle one day, and a nightmare the next.

I have written a separate piece on the Saturn-Neptune opposition, which becomes exact on the 31st of this month, so you'll have plenty of food for thought should you find yourself wondering why you're making little progress and running into troughs of low pressure at inappropriate intervals. August is always a strange (and often uneventful) month in politics, but given mid-July sparked another major conflict in the Middle East, under these relentless influences we can expect an intensifying of hostilities - and not just in and around Lebanon - and very little progress on the diplomatic front. I'd like to believe that the Jupiter-Uranus trine, which is both ebullient and barrier-breaking, will provide a balance for this depressing opposition but we will have to wait until the very end of the month before we see what rabbits these two can pull out of the hat. The usual suspects - that's President Bush, and Prime Minister Blair - face a dark and difficult summer break, although with the world in such crisis, their individual careers and reputations pale into insignificance.

Children, creative endeavours, romantic relationships and friendships all require patience in August. Don't give up, whatever you do, although feel free to make some detours and slight alterations, especially during the week of the 7th. (The full moon of the 11th and the Mars-Uranus opposition of the 13th will press your buttons, and a cool head will be needed if you are to score the kind of personal success and breakthrough that can be attained at this time.) There is no single week without some input from Saturn, Neptune, Pluto or Uranus, so flexibility and an ability to roll with the punches is essential. Past actions are being accounted for and the seeds of new karma being sown - in other words, think carefully before you take a short-cut, relegate an association to history - and in a hail of bullets - or assume that you have nothing to lose and blow every last penny in your bank account.

1st September 2006 - 30th September 2006

How well are you really looking after yourself Aries? This may be a question which poses itself this month as the sun passes through your health and lifestyle sector. You may receive some sort of wake-up call during the first week of September which forces you to re-assess the way you live your life. You are not known for mollycoddling yourself and your no-nonsense, just-get-on-with-it attitude may need overhauling to ensure that you really are getting the best out of life. Also, it may be that a friend or relative needs your support for some reason and this may serve as a timely reminder to you that you should not take your good health for granted and that prevention is much better than cure in the long run. As we move forward into a new season this is the perfect time to begin a new diet or exercise regime. Venus's presence in the above mentioned sector will ensure that whatever self- improvement moves you make now you'll enjoy to the full. Exercise is a great way for you to burn off some of that Martian energy which, if not properly channelled can all too often lead to explosive outbursts.

September, like August, is a big month in astrological terms. The Saturn-Neptune opposition is still dominating the heavens (and, if you need to gen up on this transit, please go to the article dedicated to it on the website...CLICK HERE) so we are still trying to get to grips with reality and watching some very weird situations unfold out there on the world's stage. There are two eclipses to take into account - neither of them total eclipses but nonetheless they can still pack a powerful punch. The first - a lunar eclipse in Pisces - appears on the 7th, and harks back to March in terms of eclipses and events, and the second, on the 22nd, is a solar eclipse in Virgo. Eclipses set in motion events that shape the destiny of nations, and also our own lives, should they fall on key planets and points in our charts, so anything that emerges on or around the time of an eclipse must be taken seriously. The period of the 11th - 17th looks to be the most impressive: transformational Pluto is centre stage, so we can expect some dramatic entrances and exits on the political scene and a rattling of sabres from the usual suspects. The sun's entry into Libra on the 23rd, followed by Venus on the 30th, heralds the beginning of a calmer period, and certainly one in which dialogue and debate pave the way for peace and concord.

Both eclipses highlight the good, the bad and the ugly in regard to work and lifestyle, thus, some Arians could find themselves starting new employment, and rather unexpectedly, while others could experience some tensions on the work front, which in turn may set you thinking about the advantages of moving onwards and upwards. Should you be entirely happy with your career status-quo, avoid making mountains out of molehills during September, and if a boss or colleague proves difficult, just take it all in your stride. Conversely, if a brilliant new opportunity arises, assume your good deeds and hard work have finally paid off.

From the 23rd, relationships zoom into the spotlight, but more about that next month.

1st October 2006 - 31st October 2006

With the challenges of August and September behind us we can all look forward to better times in October. Until the 23rd there are almost no hard angles to the senior planets (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) to hamper us, which means global hostilities should lessen and the climate will be suitable for discussion, debate, new peace agreements and generally more co-operation between nations and leaders. Of course, having put my pen where my astrological judgement is it wouldn't surprise me to find that a simmering hot spot boils over and that there are further terrorist outrages. However it is unlikely...by the 22nd this little patch of perfection will be over : the sun, Mars and Venus head into Scorpio, Mercury is squared by Saturn(23rd) and Mercury turns retrograde (28th), all of which is likely to create a more intense atmosphere, and we may see some reversals of decisions, and certainly far less progress made in war-torn areas.

For you too, Aries, it will be a surprisingly conflict free month and since the emphasis falls squarely in your relationship zone it seems you are at last enjoying some kind of respite from recent problems. The full moon of the 7th in your sign signals the end of an era; your spirit is restored, your resolve renewed. A new relationship could appear around the 22nd so at the time of the full moon it may be a case of one door closing and another opening. And while your love life might be the first beneficiary of this theme of endings and beginnings, also in line for positive change are professional relationships. With the sun, Venus and Mars all in the sign of Libra, the peacemaker, this is a perfect time to build bridges or reach a new level of harmony; by contrast this is an excellent period in which to end contracts thereby freeing yourself for other, more lucrative or desirable commitments. Also, you should be feeling more able to see both sides of an argument and more willing to reach agreements rather than to don your battledress and go on the offensive. Socially you should also be having a very good time with several opportunities for romance or glamorous outings.

After the 22nd, as mentioned above, the planetary aspects gain in intensity, and joint interests - financial and otherwise - spring into the mainframe. You could find yourself discussing joint projects, pooling finances, and making binding commitments; it is a time to consider actions intended to enhance your future security. Also, from the 22nd, new romances that may have started earlier in the month deepen, and if this makes you feel a little out of your depth, try not to press the destruct button: you'll regain your balance all in good time.

1st November 2006 - 30th November 2006

The big event this month is the entry of Jupiter into the sign it rules, Sagittarius. Clearly this is extremely good news for all Sagittarians, since the planet of increase will be transiting their sign until December 2007, but, hopefully, this planet's expansive nature will help us all take some impressive leaps of faith and encourage us to follow the spirit of religion as opposed to the dogma. Jupiter enters Sagittarius on the 24th, less than forty-eight hours after a sun-Jupiter conjunction in the final degree of Scorpio, and while this may prove to be a terrifically happy and successful period for those with birthdays on or near this date, new beginnings made at that time (whatever your sun sign) are auspicious indeed. We should look at global developments here too, whether we see magnanimous gestures on the part of leaders and governments or an aggressive show of power. Jupiter does not have the astrological stage to itself, however, and as if to remind us that the best things in life have to be earned and that all actions have consequences, Saturn makes regular appearances in November, and since Neptune is still in opposition to Saturn, especially around the 8th, 17th and 29th we will need to read between the lines when it comes to statements of national and international importance: the distance between reality and fabrication may never have been greater. While such influences would not be out of place with an announcement of a withdrawal of troops from Iraq, and a subsequent aura of failure and defeat hovering over the Bush administration - their chances of keeping the Senate Republican are slim - we may be looking also at a severe loss of face inspired by leaks and betrayal for Tony Blair upon whose Mid-heaven Neptune will be sitting.

Jupiter will be expanding your horizons througout the coming year, whether this translates as travel to distant places - and lots of it - or opportunities that take you into new intellectual, psychological and spiritual territory. Rather more significantly, since Jupiter will be in harmony with Saturn, whose presence in the area of creativity and joy has zapped your confidence and crippled some promising ventures, you should get back your joie de vivre and your muse. Also, instead of receiving a big fat no to your offerings, people will say yes. And you may also find that romance is no longer off the menu. If you're a March Ram you may well see the fruits of this prediction before the end of this year, but whenever your birthday, get ready for adventure and success.

For most of November there is a concentration of planets in your eighth solar house so for one reason or another you will not be skimming the surface of life but will be required to get to grips with some deeper issues. Serious discussions about money matters are likely at the beginning of the month. Your offspring could be making too many demands, so it may be time to put your foot down, which could be a problem for you, as you are usually a most generous parent. The good news is that it looks as though you are coming to the end of a period of isolation and you may be experiencing more intimacy in your life. Some of you will feel your libido increased, while others may simply feel more connected to your loved ones. And should you have been mourning a loss of any description, the light is now beginning to shine brightly at the end of the tunnel.

1st December 2006 - 31st December 2006

You will be on a voyage of discovery this month as the sun passes through the zone connected with foreign travel, higher education, philosophy and religion. A bolt from the blue around the 3rd could necessitate a long journey and someone close may need you to come to their rescue. If so, your tremendous courage and stamina will serve you well and you will be able to accomplish whatever you set out to achieve - your ruler, Mars, joins up with Mercury and Jupiter on the 10th forming a formidable trio in the cause of truth and justice. There could be contracts to sign this month, even some legal matters to attend to, all of which should be tackled in a cool detached fashion, leaving emotions well out of the equation. (Something to bear in mind especially on or near the 4th, 15th and 22nd.) Planets in this ninth house of your solar chart help you see the bigger picture; they encourage you to go to the ends of the earth for your desires and beliefs, so whatever emerges in the way of understandings and yearnings should be acted upon, if only in the form of a blue-print.

Each year at this time the sun squares Uranus and conjoins Pluto and often there are other alignments which add to this powerful mix, resulting in upheavals of a personal and global nature. Take the tsunami of 2004, for instance, which began as the moon clipped the degree of the sun-Pluto conjunction just prior to becoming full. Between the 1st and 22nd of December there will be no less than five planets in the sign of Sagittarius, so there is a concentration of ‘energy' in one area of the cosmos: in a natal chart this often manifests as an individual who is a specialist, one who is very focused, and in terms of events there can be a last straw effect to be observed. Put another way, people reach the end of their tethers and take extreme measures to prove their point. The period from the 15th to the 23rd is potentially the most explosive and we may see a lot of sabres being rattled by world leaders and another terror alert that interferes with our travel and our peace of mind. The year closes with war lord Mars and Master of Mystery, Neptune, in harmony, which is perfect for a champagne entry into 2007 but also a compassionate end to a year that has been full of strife and conflict.

Your personal challenges, aside from going into overdrive and overdraft for Christmas, is getting into arguments with anyone who dares to stand in your way, be they employers, associates or traffic wardens. In the bigger picture these are very small things, and simply not worth all that energy. While the overall astrological climate is stormy in December, you should be able to find distance, perspective and shelter. You may sense that whatever troubles you or your friends, loved ones or colleagues face, there is not only a purpose behind them but that there will be an upside. Indeed, events may well inspire a renewal of faith and optimism thus re-charging your spiritual batteries and filling you with fresh enthusiasm and zest for life. Perfect for that champagne entry into 2007.

1st January 2007 - 31st January 2007

Compared to December January's stars are a dream. Venus spends most of the month in Aquarius generally sweetening life for members of this sign and helping those of the opposite sign (Leo) find and celebrate love. The full moon of the 3rd is in Cancer and, like all full moons helps us close a chapter and begin a new one - something we tend to do anyway at the start of a new year., although of course, for Cancerians, this process is profoundly more marked. The Mars - Pluto conjunction of the 13th is the last in a series of aspects between the personal planets and Pluto, so events mid-month may well have a connection between those of the 8th-25th December. (Here in Great Britain the enquiry into the death of Princess Diana confirmed that it was an accident - not a white-wash surely? And on the same day (14th December) Prime Minister Tony Blair was questioned by police in the cash for honours enquiry - not an attempt to bury bad news, surely? - and in keeping with Pluto's principles of dark deeds, a nationwide police hunt began for serial killer of five young prostitutes, resulting in an arrest just before Christmas.) On January 16th Mars enters Capricorn for a six-week transit - OK Cappies, it's time to get moving and motoring! And on the 20th the sun arrives in Aquarius. These last ten days of January present a complex and certainly variety-packed picture. In a nutshell the theme is chickens coming home to roost (courtesy Saturn, Lord of Karma) so if we've spent too much money over Christmas we'll be paying the price at this time, and, in general, both on the world's stage and in our own lives we'll be looking at the cost of actions taken some time ago.

Your ambitions are stirred under January's pioneering stars, Aries, and it seems you have far to go. Some of you may be travelling long distance to further your career or simply for a well-earned rest, while others will be planning way into the future. If you meet with powerful people a brilliant job offer could be on the table. A word of caution, however: don't let your ego get the upper hand, especially around the 12th and 22nd. If you do behave in a less than meek and mild manner you might rue the day and miss out on an opportunity. Be careful too about divulging information. People who appear trustworthy may be anything but, so bear that in mind before you let any cats out of bags. Your crusading spirit will be very strong throughout the month so put that energy to good use (a worthy cause?) rather than getting involved in fruitless arguments.

1st February 2007 - 28th February 2007

There's no need to go it alone this month, Aries, as the sun is urging you to join groups, attend social events and generally join the throng. You're not one to sit around moping for long, but, with Saturn placing limitations and restrictions on the fun factor in your life, it may seem as though pleasure has been in short supply of late. A new relationship could even blossom for you at one of these events since Venus moves into your own sign on the 21st, showering you with all its beautiful gifts. While we're on the subject of love and romance, it's possible that you could be the recipient of a secret message around Valentine's Day so you might want to weigh up all the pros and cons of getting involved with anyone who's not wholly available, before jumping in with both feet. I know this isn't exactly your style Aries (by which I mean patient planning), but more tricky aspects mentioned below straddle your love and creativity axis and it may be that sacrifices involving the ones you love most come into play at the end of the month.

With a full moon opening to February the theme of endings and beginnings is clearly stamped on our astrology. The moon is in Leo so members of this sign and those of Aquarius are in the front row when it comes to bringing to a close anything that has outlived its usefulness. Relationships for these two signs in particular appear to be at a crossroads, and with Valentine's Day coming in between a sun-Saturn opposition (10th) and a Venus Pluto square (20th), the scent of final straws is in the air! This is far from a light and frothy month, primarily due to the applying Saturn-Neptune opposition. (And if you want to know more about this important transit, please click on the article relating to it on the home page.) This opposition is exact on the 28th, and from the middle of February onwards we can expect to see events out on the world's stage reflecting its theme of sacrifice and redemption on the one hand, and the erosion of established structures on the other. Among those for whom the Saturn-Neptune bell tolls are: Fidel Castro (sun: 20 Aquarius), Tony Blair (Pluto: 20 Leo), George W. (Venus: 21 Leo) and Queen Elizabeth (Mars: 20 Aquarius and Neptune: 22 Leo).

1st March 2007 - 31st March 2007

What can you say about a month that has two eclipses in it, the first of which is not only a total lunar but conjunct/opposition lively Uranus, and the second, a partial solar, which squares Pluto? I'd say it's one of those periods in which matters that have been rumbling underground for some while erupt with the force of a minor volcano! March is a very cleansing month: think de-tox and de-clutter, whether in terms of our homes and our offices or in regard to our opinions and belief systems. The periods around the eclipses (3rd and 19th) are the most dynamic or disruptive, depending on your perspective, and the final ten days with its heavy concentration of Saturn are the most hard work. Could we have an announcement about a forthcoming wedding for Prince William and Kate Middleton? Very possibly. And will events in the Middle East be the cause of even greater consternation? Almost certainly.

Happily for you, Aries, beautiful Venus will be transiting your sign until the 17th giving you all the charm you need to win hearts and minds, and if you've already settled on a wedding day, especially during the week of the 12th, know that you have chosen well. This week contains the best of March's planetary offerings, and while good things may simply happen, if you want to make personal or professional progress this is the week to shoot for, and certainly to flaunt your assets. Some Arians will start a new romance this month while others will see improvements in a relationship that has been going through hard times.

You may also undergo something of a spiritual change or awakening this month since the two eclipses highlight the zone concerning your subconscious mind. Work is another area under focus so while some of you might change your place of work, others will experience a shift in attitudes and goals. You may feel the need for a less materialistic lifestyle or want to give back more to society/humanity in terms of your energy, time or funds. If you feel less energetic than usual, even somewhat under the weather, don't panic: consider yourself a seed, germinating, waiting to burst forth when the sun enters your own sign on the 21st. After this date you should be back to your fiery, energetic self - in fact, you may be just a little too fiery around the 22nd when you should beware of upsetting friends or loved ones with an overly aggressive attitude. If you do overstep the mark, the 25th is a good day for eating a large slice of humble pie and apologising. And, during the last ten days of the month, should life throw you a curved ball, treat matters with common sense and composure - there is a solution to even the most pressing problem.

1st April 2007 - 30th April 2007

With the sun in your sign, the spotlight is firmly on you and your future. This is a time of renewal and of creating new targets for your energies and desires. And with two Grand Trines in play for much of April, you should find it easy to win friends and influence people, and generally acquire more balance and harmony in life. And speaking of balance... the full moon of the 2nd falls in the area of love and relating, suggesting that a relationship has come full circle. Now, in some cases this is a sign that a romance is about to become a permanent fixture and, in others, that a relationship has reached the end of its natural life. The Venus-Saturn square on the same day has a similar capacity to cement a union or to blow a lot of cold air on your once warm feelings. Whatever the case, be sure you are making a balanced judgement, not one that is overly rosy or too bleak and dark.

On the 6th, Mars heads into the introspective twelfth house - and for a five-week sojourn. By pursuing such practices as yoga, meditation or hypno-therapy this transit can be harnessed to give you extra stores of insight, however, you need to remind yourself that situations in the real world may not be quite as they seem and that certain individuals may be working in a way that is detrimental to you. Also, should you suffer any small injury or experience a minor health problem, do not ignore it: rest, relaxation and taking a concern to the professionals will ensure that you don't have to meet with a bigger problem when Mars enters Aries in mid-May!

And finally a word about Uranus. This planet is in full voice at the start to April and during the last weekend. An unexpected piece of news may be the reason the telephone wires will be buzzing but since you are a feisty sign might I urge you to rein in your temper and your enthusiasm at these times - you don't want to use up all those lovely Grand Trines mounting a rescue and re-build mission.

1st May 2007 - 31st May 2007

Financial matters take top priority this month as the sun transits one of the key money zones of your solar chart. The full moon of the 2nd with its theme of closure and completion, indicates that one association could be coming to an end - this may be a working or personal relationship - and it is therefore appropriate to sort out your joint financial affairs. And this same theme applies should you have parted company with someone in recent months. Going it alone should not be too difficult for you Aries, since you are one of the most independent signs of the zodiac, but, if you start to have doubts about your ability to make money or to be thought of value to others, this is a temporary state of affairs and almost certainly due to the presence of ruler, Mars, in the obscure twelfth house: when this feisty planet enters your own sign on the 15th your vim and vigour should return and you will be ready to take on the world once more. This date also coincides with the new moon in the zone of self-worth - yet another sign for you to get to grips with finances and put new systems in place, whether this translates as opening a new bank account, creating a sensible budget, taking out a loan or exploring investment possibilities. With Mars on your side you'll be in a good position to assert yourself and to stand your ground in any bargaining situation.

If you've read my general piece about the month, you'll have noted that week of the 7th, is effectively a mine-field. My advice would be to to look deeply into situations during this time before you air as much as an opinion, yet alone commit yourself to a major decision.

Your integrity could be put to the test and negotiations of any sort, but especially those with overseas or legal overtones, must be handled with great skill and diplomacy. As always with Pluto and Saturn in the mix, there is an element of karma surrounding events.

From the 21st the sun will be transiting the area of travel and communications. You will be in a lighter frame of mind, ready to explore new ideas with people and to take those leaps of faith you so enjoy. Indeed, the week of the 21st could bring good news and your efforts stand an excellent chance of success.

1st June 2007 - 30th June 2007

The sun is highlighting your travel and communication zone making this a month to talk the talk and walk the walk. Some of you might even be making a life-changing journey - the period of the 15th - 21st has the potential to alter your course in some way, and what you say, how you go and the news you receive could all be part of the equation. Expect more than the usual number of telephone conversations, e mails and letters; people may turn up on your doorstep, and you could be out and about more than you expected to be. This is an excellent month for getting involved in community matters, inviting friends and neighbours to your home and generally enjoying your local environment. You will be feeling particularly energetic and proactive as your ruler, fiery Mars is urging you to project yourself in a bold, assertive manner. Remember, however, that you Rams can be a little scary to more timid signs and with the added impetus of Mars you may appear to be aggressive when you are simply feeling impassioned. Stop and think about how you might come across to others from time to time... In other words try to be more objective and acknowledge that there are some grey areas in life, instead of seeing everything in black and white. While we're on the subject of communication, this would be an ideal time to talk about your feelings. I know this is not exactly your style, Aries - as far as you are concerned, actions speak louder than words, however, with Venus and Mercury at the base of your solar chart, there is an opportunity to get to the heart of a matter, possibly by examining the past or discussing something very personal with those closest to you. The full moon of the 30th signifies the end of a journey for you and while this may be physical, possibly with thoughts of a new home, it may equally be a spiritual journey, marking the end of a learning curve which leaves you feeling more at peace with yourself.

1st July 2007 - 31st July 2007

Home and family issues concern you this month and this would be an ideal time to put new systems in place which will enhance your everyday life. It may be that you need to rally a little help from other family members - encourage your children or house-mates, perhaps, to help about the home. If communication has been a problem, matters should improve after the 10th when Mercury goes direct, and you might be very pleasantly surprised by the change in a relationship you can achieve by having a heart to heart on this day. The new moon of the 14th signals a fresh start, which could be reflected in a house move, some domestic improvements or the arrival of a new family member. The chances are that you’ll be feeling very happy about any such developments as both Venus and the sun will be spending time in your pleasure zone, promising joy and warm feelings in abundance. It's also a month in which you should positively aim to put fun before hard work - you know what they say about all work and no play - it makes Jack a very dull boy!

Ruler, Mars squares Neptune on the 24th with the result that you may become disenchanted with a friend. Mars and Neptune are great deflaters - often because you are seeing that proverbial glass half-empty - so try to set situations in their corrective perspective at this time. Maybe a project has developed some teething-troubles or perhaps an event has to be cancelled, but these are things that can be overcome. The full moon of the 30th falls in the zone of collaborations making this latter part of July a period for putting the final touches to a business or creative endeavour and to set a close association on a new footing. If a friendship has passed its sell-by date, it will be the moment to allow it to hold a less important position in your life. By contrast, this full moon indicates the end of a gestation period so something you have been incubating in secret could be about to emerge into the open.

1st August 2007 - 31st August 2007

You're bursting with creative energy this month, Aries and will be in the mood for bringing new things into being. With the sun, Venus, Mercury and Saturn all passing through the sign of Leo you will feel inspired to unleash your creative potential and make something which will stand the test of time. If you have always thought about painting, sculpture, writing, acting, etc. but never quite found the time, the planets are now making the space in your busy schedule to accommodate such an activity. If you have been ignoring the ticking of your biological clock, rest assured the tick will simply get louder so it becomes impossible to overlook. And, if you are well past the days of baby-making, you might consider leaving something for posterity, so planting trees, or naming stars in your memory, are just a couple of ideas to ensure your immortality.

Nonetheless, as you will see from the general forecast, August is anything but a bright and breezy month aspect-wise - there's a little too much Saturn and Neptune for that - so particularly on or around the 1st , 12th, 21st and 24th you'll need to be philosophical about those things that fail to measure up to your expectations or drizzle into the ether. Fortunately, with Mars heading into the zone of communication on the 7th and Jupiter in the area of far-horizons turning direct on the same day, it seems you will not be short of great new ideas nor the arenas in which to express them. Between now and December you may well be travelling far and wide and/or spreading your influence outside familiar territory.

Around the 18th, a child may announce a plan which could stir up a multitude of feelings within you - love, pleasure, pain, loss, for instance. And while some of you are busy feathering your nests, others may be contemplating the empty nest. Once in a while you need to acknowledge your vulnerability, rather than imagining you have to be brave and steadfast at all times. If you feel the need for a good howl, do so, but bear in mind that tears shed now are just as likely to be tears of joy as of sadness. Also, let's not overlook the possibility that some of you may be falling in love this month, possibly re-connecting with someone from the past. Many of these possibilities stem from the all-important lunar eclipse of the 28th: eclipses tend to produce changes in our lives which are inspired by other people, or circumstances beyond our control, so during the latter part of August and early September expect some surprises.

1st September 2007 - 30th September 2007

There is considerable emphasis on health and lifestyle this month as the sun's transit of the sixth solar house urges you to get to grips with diet, exercise regimes and the day to day running of your existence. The celestial Ram tends to live life at breakneck speed, rarely making time for rest and relaxation, and with Mars currently transiting your travel and communication zone you are more likely than ever to be dashing around from pillar to post. Since this behaviour inevitably drains your physical, mental and emotional batteries the universe is encouraging you to take a step back at at least look at your habits and routines. Aries needs a positive outlet for all that feisty Mars energy which courses through its veins, so while this might be a good time to make room for rest and relaxation it might also benefit you to join a gym, take up a martial art or buy an exercise DVD - anything, in fact, that prevents you from over-amping at work or aggravating those situations that and those people whom refuse to go your way. (Thoughts to keep at the forefront of your mind especially on or near the 3rd, 11th and 21st.)

As you can tell from my general forecast, September contains some tough alignments, with most of them focusing on the aforementioned areas of health, lifestyle and travel. However, work too is in the frame. Some Arians will be starting new jobs while others will be working with new people and on new challenges, all of which is grist to Aries' mill, yet for others it will be the decisions of employers and organizations with whom there are work ties that will alter the pattern of working life. And even if nothing remotely different happens in regard to your job, with Saturn arriving in this sector for a two year transit it would behove you to look at the long-term picture and to make sure that you have a financial cushion should a job unexpectedly come to an end. Also, if you have been taking too many responsibilities on your shoulders perhaps, over the next few months, you will be able to find ways to off-load some of your commitments. Aries always thinks it's the only person who can run the show, but even you can run out of steam.

1st October 2007 - 31st October 2007

Partnerships of all kinds come under scrutiny as the sun passes through your relationship zone this month. The new moon of the 11th is also in the zone and for some of you this could indicate a new relationship beginning. This may be pleasure or business oriented, but, as Venus is transiting your workplace zone, it could mean a bit of both! The weekend of 13th/14th is an excellent time to get together with friends and to embark upon a relationship which will stand the test of time. Don't be surprised if someone from the past comes back into your life as Mercury goes retrograde on the 12th and you could find yourself having intense, intimate conversations around this time. For those of you whose personal lives are more settled, you might feel the need to discuss your joint finances, but avoid making any monumental decisions or signing any contracts until Mercury goes direct (1st November).

You also have an opportunity this month to improve your health and lifestyle, aided and abetted by the lovely Venus. Saturn's slow transit of this zone over the next couple of years will allow you to make some much needed changes, and Venus's presence should even make the process enjoyable. You might want to explore less physically arduous activities than you are usually drawn to - Tai Chi rather than kick boxing, for example - as Venus could have a wonderfully calming influence on your life this month. It would also be a great time to try a new diet, or beauty treatment, but avoid extremes of any kind, especially around the 25th and 29th. By the end of the month you should be feeling more optimistic than you have for some time and looking to the future with a spirit of hope and determination to improve your lot in life.

1st November 2007 - 30th November 2007

Joint finances may the subject of some discussion and possibly some heated exchanges this month as the sun and new moon of the 9th encourage you to get to grips with any lingering pecuniary matters: tax, insurance, inheritance, investments – any or all of these may need your attention. You will probably not be thrilled to hear this as you Rams prefer to be up and running rather than sitting at a desk pondering such things as your will or life assurance. The planetary energy this month, however, will be working in your favour. With Venus and Mercury transiting your relationship zone, you will find it more easy than usual to gain the co-operation of others, so if you need to get a partner to sign on the dotted line, try the 20th. And speaking of Venus... This planet will be gracing the area of partnership from the 8th November until the 5th of December, making this the premium period of the year for attracting members of the opposite sex and for experiencing union in every sense of the word. And if you're getting married or naming the day -Oh la la!

Rather less positively, Mars, your ruler, heads into reverse gear on the 15th, which could mean that old bones of contention are going to be dug up, and chewed over. Mars will remain in retrograde until late January so you face a period in which you may not be as free to go where you choose or to follow your desires every which way. On the plus side though, you will be more inclined to use diplomacy and tact. Whether you are laying down the law regarding your children’s spending habits, putting together a new salary package or negotiating a divorce settlement, you can afford to be firm but fair in these circumstances. On a more celebratory note, marriage proposals could be made or pre-nuptial agreements signed and sealed.

1st December 2007 - 31st December 2007

There's nothing Aries likes better than hitting the heights and hitting the spots! And you can do both this December. With the sun transiting the zone of distant horizons, you're either booking your tickets, on your way or making grand plans for the future. Of course, it's not all rosy - is it ever? - since Uranus and Pluto are in control most of the time, which means you may have to say, thy-way-not-my-way every so often. As I mentioned in my general forecast, the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction of the 11th is the centre-point of a series of major alignments set to send you in new directions or upset the apple-cart, depending on your perspective. Especially if you have a birthday on or near 21st March or 19th April, you will be looking at a very different canvas for your talents and affections after the events of this month, and, although the climate is stormy, the prospect is one of breakthroughs rather than setbacks.

Money and love have a part to play in December's highs and lows: on the one hand, you could be on the receiving end of a bonus or windfall; on the other, you could be spending more than you are earning. Venus will be in the passionate and complex eighth house of your solar chart, so there is a yearning for intimacy and a deeper connection with a lover or partner, yet in some cases you will fear estrangement and loss. Try to keep a lid on your paranoia, Aries, because it is the funny and feisty you that other people fall in love with.

On the 18th Jupiter moves to the very top of your solar chart where it will preside for over a year. Thus, you are at the beginning of a very promising period for your career and life-goals. Jupiter will bring success and opportunity - all you need is the will, the persistence and the talent to meet it half way. By the 23rd the sun will conjoin Jupiter indicating a highly favourable period all round, but especially in regard to your job and whatever happens at this time will surely be to your advantage.

I'm not so sure a Mars-Pluto opposition will be to your advantage over the New Year because although this will give you lots of energy for all those parties, it will raise your passions so take your anger-management pills before you tackle a thorny issue and don't forget that those who live by the sword...

1st January 2008 - 31st January 2008

A new year, and new set of hopes, dreams and ambitions, and, if you're typical of your sign, never more ready to go get! Ruler, Mars, sets the tone for the month with an opposition to mighty Pluto on the 2nd. This is a fairly combustible pairing so be careful whom you tango with in the early part of the month and on or near the 24th. It's good to be passionate about life but not so good when you allow passion to snuff out common sense. Some Arians may be in the throes of a grand passion while others will be using this same energy to eliminate something (or someone) from their lives. Christmas, of course, can be a great shaper of things to come so maybe what took place over the turkey or under the mistletoe has led to the events and decisions of this January.

In the main, the focus is on career and life-direction. It is a month to promote yourself and to discuss your future with your superiors and those who can help you achieve your ends. If you're a March Ram, you have Jupiter in your corner opening up exciting possibilities and bringing you solid success, and with Venus heading into this same zone on the 24th, there will be a general trend for good fortune and happy developments. The first twelve days of the month put Saturn and Uranus in the mix too, and since these planets are influencing work, on the one hand, and health and lifestyle, on the other, you may face a small and unexpected set-back. The way to deal with a disappointment, a delay or an expensive problem is to be strictly practical and to refuse to allow your emotions to get the better of you. There will be solutions. Indeed, one of those solutions may appear around the 20th when Jupiter and Saturn will be perfectly aligned, in some cases bringing about a very positive development, linked to your career and life goals.

Perhaps the most important planetary event of the month is the arrival of Pluto in the aforementioned area of career and life-direction. March 21st - 23rd birthdays are going to be the first to feel this planet's transformational power, and while you can and should be looking at where you are in life and what has to be done in order to get where you want to go, there will be circumstances beyond your control that shape your future too. A job could take you to a new country or the loss of a job could force you to plough your talents in a whole new direction.

Mercury turns retrograde on the 28th slowing you down to a degree yet two days later ruler, Mars, goes direct - something you will benefit from in the coming weeks when a plan gets back on track and you stop running into obstacles.

1st February 2008 - 29th February 2008

The Aries lone wolf has done something of a disappearing act. On the one hand, this is a period in which team-work and friendship play a big part in your life, and, on the other, if you are seeking backing for your ambitions, you could well find it. Venus, the planet of love and good fortune, will be passing through the life-direction zone of your solar chart, putting you in touch with people of power and influence and, at the very least, encouraging you to set out your market stall in terms of your talents. The solar eclipse of the 7th could well point to a new business endeavour or collaboration of some description, although you may find also that it upsets a long-standing friendship. As far as romance goes, I'm not sure you could count the 14th as one of the best Valentine's Days on record but if things go seriously pear-shaped in the love department this month, April's stars could set it all back to rights. (Keep your eyes trained on the future and don't sweat the small stuff.) From the 19th, the sun will be in the low-key twelfth house, making you a tad hermit-like and lowering your resistance, both in the sense of your state of health and your reaction to difficulties - the period around the total lunar eclipse (21st) could be really tough. Once again, be practical and work diligently towards your desires and ambitions.

1st March 2008 - 31st March 2008

This is a complex but important month. The sun's passage through the low-key twelfth house until the 20th will make you less resilient in physical and psychological terms, so do your best neither to push yourself too hard nor to overreact to situations before you know the full story. Ruler, Mars, will be at the base of your chart, urging you to get moving on family, property and domestic matters and presenting you with a tough challenge on or near the 7th and 21st (please don't take on anyone bigger and better than you because you'll sustain an ego-bruise at the very least). The full moon of the 21st cuts across the relationship axis, closing a chapter: for some Arians this presages the end of a business commitment, for others the end of a marriage but for the majority this full moon will bring to the surface issues between you and another person that need to be faced in order for you to move on stronger and more united. With Venus also in the twelfth house for much of the month, love and romance may have to take a back seat, and if your feelings change for someone or you sense a relationship is in decline, do nothing for the moment - Venus will head into Aries early next month on a mission to bring love back to life.

1st April 2008 - 30th April 2008

Get ready for one of the best months of 2008. And, after the first quarter's ups and downs, let's face it, anything's got to be better! Not only will the sun remain in your sign (until the 19th) but Venus will be in Aries from the 6th - 30th, and, when Venus is in your sign, the goodies come rolling in. Your powers of attraction are at their highest, whether you want to draw someone to your side in the romantic sense or you need to achieve a goal. However, with Pluto at a 90 degree angle to your sign, when the sun, Mercury or Venus enter Aries they are immediately challenged by Pluto. Thus, during the first ten days of April, you may face an upset of some description. My advice is to tread very carefully with certain people and not to use brute force to achieve your ends, or to seek revenge. Remember, love has the power to move all obstacles. The prevailing Grand Trine harmoniously links the areas of money, work and life-direction making this an opportunity-laden month for getting ahead. Promotion and professional gains are in the pipe-line. This is also a month in which affairs of the heart take precedence, whether you meet a new love, make a long-term commitment or enjoy beautiful times with your significant other.

1st May 2008 - 31st May 2008

The favourable trend brought in by April's harmonious alignments continues through much of May. It's going to be a month when finances and issues related to your standing in the world and your position in other people's lives, are dominant issues. On the one hand, extra monies could come your way, better financial agreements can be drawn up and, if you have any money problems whatsoever, you can go a long way to resolving them. Likewise, you can put new romances onto a more permanent footing, you can strengthen existing relationships by creating new structures - both of a financial and future-oriented nature - and if you have been caught up in the illusion of love you'll establish the reality (watch the 3rd, 22nd and 26th). This is also a premium month for getting ahead career-wise: you can showcase your talents and there may well be some offers from unexpected quarters. The periods on or near the 1st, 12th and 18th are pregnant with possibilities. Make the most of your May stars: they'll set you on the road to success and, more importantly, they'll show you what's real and what can never be.

1st June 2008 - 30th June 2008

Mercury may be in retrograde but you've got the travel bug. Planets in the third house of travel and communications earmark June as a time to both walk the walk and talk the talk. All right, you might take a while to get where you're going but the journey round the houses will be worth it. Plus, if you are travelling to distant places the experience will open your eyes to new possibilities. Rather more pertinently, discussions during the all-important 9th - 20th period could lead to some long-term changes of a personal or professional nature. Whether or not these changes will be seen immediately as being to your advantage rather depends but my advice is to listen carefully to what is being said and to avoid any kind of knee-jerk response. Legal matters require particular care, especially if they involve property or family concerns. Once Mercury heads into direct motion (19th) you will have answers to questions posed some time ago, although events on or near the 21st could prove deceptive. All in all a month to keep your hopes high but to watch your step.

1st July 2008 - 31st July 2008

The astrological focus is on all things of a family and property nature. The new moon of the 3rd sets a fresh cycle in motion, and it may signal news of a new arrival, whether by birth or marriage, or plans to make-over the home, even move house. Indeed, the first seven days of the month are all about surprises and change. Jupiter's passage through the tenth house of career and life-goals has earmarked 2008 as a year of growth and success, some of which you may have seen already, but, if not, the periods on or near the 3rd, 9th, 19th and 26th could do the trick. That having been said the 9th and 10th also have their astrological difficulties: it may be that you are overworked and under pressure, such that you cannot deal sensibly with a minor problem; on the other hand, you may have a tough decision to make or you could be on the receiving end of a less than welcome message. Either way, think compromise and common sense. From the 22nd, the sun will be in your fellow fire sign of Leo so you get back much of your confidence and sparkle: indeed there could be a happy event to look forward to later in the month or just around the corner in August.

1st August 2008 - 31st August 2008

August each year is potentially your time-off-for-good-behaviour month – the sun being in the creative, romantic and pleasure-seeking zone of your horoscope - but with two eclipses and some not-so-charming alignments, rest and relaxation are going to be expensive luxuries. On the plus side, offers and opportunities may appear out of nowhere but, on the down side, you could lose something that will cost you dearly, and we're not just talking finance here. Thus, from day one, you need to think way beyond the immediate present and overcome any feelings of anger or frustration so that you will make good decisions. The periods around the 6th , 16th and 23rd require great self-discipline. By all means, launch a new endeavour and welcome new people into your life but avoid putting all your eggs in one basket. Mars enters the zone of relating on the 19th for a six-week transit so while your sex-life may take off – and you'll definitely know who loves you – any opposition will prove daunting. Do your best to be understanding and accommodating, whether you're facing the cancellation of an event, or the inability of someone to carry out his or her original intentions.

1st September 2008 - 30th September 2008

On your marks. Get set. Go! After an August where things swung one way then another, you're heading in a straight line. The astrological focus is divided equally between relationships and work, and there is much to gained by a devotional attitude and a loving approach. The first week of the month should bring you a success, or at least a sense you are heading in the right direction, while the period of the 9th - 16th shows you where changes must be made, and they're probably in regard to work, although you should be wary of minor slip-ups and health upsets at this time. Venus will be working her way through the zone of love and relating until the 24th so if you've booked your wedding day you're in synch with your stars, and if you've been at daggers drawn with someone, it's time to wave that olive branch. People will be supportive, if not entirely admiring of your virtues, which may lead to new partnerships and lucrative offers. And if you meet a new love under these stars, let him or her lead the way. Mercury heads into reverse thrust on the 24th, slowing your progress and creating communication blips, but time spent in research and reflection will be a good thing.

1st October 2008 - 31st October 2008

Your October stars are all about money and love, and other people's influence on your life and your future. Normally one of the most independent and outspoken members of the zodiac it will be in your best interests to keep your mouth shut and wait for others to speak their mind, and, more importantly, make you offers. While the sun and Mercury occupy the zone of relating, bringing their welcome influence to bear on the formation of partnerships and the settling of disputes, Mars, the warlord, transits the area of finance and shared resources, indicating that any opposition or financial institution will be on the aggressive and wielding the upper hand. Settlements could and should be reached after the 15th and new financial starts made on or around the 28th. By and large this is a good month, however, especially for your sex life and for finding greater intimacy in close relationships. Just keep remembering to let your loved one, and those who have power and influence over your affairs, lead the way.

1st November 2008 - 30th November 2008

You've got money on your mind. It's time to settle accounts and reach settlements, time to stick your head out of the sand and see what's really going on. The full moon of the 13th is going to prove crucial in this regard, whether a large payment is received, a long-term agreement signed or it becomes clear that something radical has to be done to get you back in balance. As I mentioned in my general forecast the Uranus-Saturn opposition will affect us all (and if you want to know a little more about this important transit why not read my new article about it on this site); in your case this opposition will straddle the health, work and lifestyle axis of your horoscope so it is these three areas that require close attention and will be the focus for much change, not necessarily only during the the early part of this November but periodically over the next couple of years. Good things will come out of any change and upheaval but you can help make this an easier process by building up reserves -financially and professionally -and not taking a cavalier attitude to your health. On the 27th, Pluto reaches the Mid-heaven of your solar chart so, especially if you are a March baby, big developments are afoot, in some cases involving a major change of work or home location. And with Venus is this same area from 12th November until the 7th December, this is a premium time to market your assets and lobby support from people of power and influence. Love and relationships could also be to the fore, with some Arians preparing to take some very important steps indeed...

1st December 2008 - 31st December 2008

Are you thinking about distant places, planning to do some travelling or making big plans for the future? All these things and more could be occupying your time in December - and with some surprising twists and turns. Certainly, you should be looking at your future and accommodating the new developments that are coming into being. This is not perhaps the smoothest month on record, whether you've over- crammed your schedule or you are fending off the colds, coughs and sneezies of the season and dealing with a major blot on the landscape. Try to take small changes and inconveniences in your stride, especially around the 5th, 12th and 28th - use the Uranian lightening to awaken you to fresh possibilities not bring a hasty end to a long- standing arrangement. Pluto is also hard at work replacing the old with the new, and, if you're a March Ram, the second half of December could inspire a life- altering decision. On New Year's Eve, your hopes and spirits should be lifted, although there is some sadness too, if only because you are not with everyone you love.

1st January 2009 - 31st January 2009

You may be going far this month but you could be moving at a snail's pace. The full moon of the 11th coincides with Mercury's retrograde turn so if you're travelling then or trying to tie up a deal, expect to meet with some kind of delay. There is also a theme of going home, returning over old ground, so try not to become too frustrated if everything you had planned and hoped for doesn't appear to be materializing. You're the last person to live in the past but there's something about January that's got you reminiscing and wishing for what was once and is no more. This is just a temporary aberration, Aries, and by February, when Venus enters your sign, you'll be feeling much more your pioneering, optimistic self – love could also be back on the menu big time. There's a strong emphasis on friendship and working as a team – a new business venture for some Rams, a pleasurable group effort for others, and for all important moments with friends and colleagues old and new. Your thoughts will also be on your job, and even if you aren't operating at a cracking pace there are some useful dialogues you can have with others (the 9th and 26th are particularly good days). Watch your step around the 23rd – actions taken in the heat of the moment could lead to regrets.

1st April 2009 - 30th April 2009

After a tricky start April turns out to be a sunny month – possibly in all senses of the phrase. The accent is on your personal hopes and ambitions, and to this end there could be celebrations and happy events. The reason why the start to the month isn't as easy as it might be is the double-whammy of Venus squaring Pluto and Mars opposing Saturn. At best you have to take off the rose-coloured glasses and look at a situation in its stark reality but at worst you face a set-back that could send one of your plans into the shredder. Take note of any distress signal on or near the 4th because if you ignore a problem it could become ten times more difficult by the 15th. And this mid-month period could find you prone to slip-ups of one sort or another. By contrast, a new romantic interest could develop – and in a sudden and unexpected way. The full moon of the 9th cuts across the relationship axis: you may well experience a sense of completion at this time – perhaps because you are about to marry or make a long-term commitment – but if the Venus-Pluto combo has caused eruptions in a relationship, this full moon may well signal its demise. Venus has been retrograding in your sign since 6 March with the result that a project or an association may have been on hold or in decline, however, once Venus gets back on track (17th) this trend could be reversed. April ends as it began on a distinctly Plutonic note so rein in your temper and take those patience pills.

1st February 2009 - 28th February 2009

Winning friends and influencing people is your theme for February. The Aries loner is a thing of the past – you'll be hooking up with like-minded people for work, fun and creative enterprises, and, after the slow and laborious pace to January, you'll be zipping along nicely. Unless, of course, the combination of the Saturn-Uranus opposition (5th) and the Venus-Pluto square (6th) put an obstacle in your path. Then, there's the lunar eclipse of the 9th. Whatever blot on the landscape appears in this early part of the month, take a step back and do not commit yourself in writing – the heat of the moment is never a good spot for you... It may be that you're a little under the weather or that something you had set your heart on cannot materialize, but getting bent out of shape won't help matters. Seek counsel from trusted colleagues and friends, then make your counter move. The ace up your sleeve is the arrival of Venus in your sign (3rd): this planet will be transiting Aries until June, so you will be attracting good things and good people into your life. The period around the 17th is very favourable for you, plus the 14th finds the moon in the relationship zone, so whether you're kissing and making up, tying the knot or simply feeling the lurve, mid-February is a high point. From the 18th, the sun will be occupying the obscure twelfth house and you in tandem could feel a little more withdrawn and in need of TLC. Have some early nights and discover or re-find the benefits of yoga and meditation.

1st March 2009 - 31st March 2009

These are not the ideal influences for Aries to be dealing with: the astrology can be likened to a foggy landscape – situations cannot be seen in their reality and events suddenly loom up at you, plunging you into doubt and uncertainty. This will pass but you'll get through the first half of the month a whole lot better if you put yourself on a go-slow and do not to burn the candle at both ends. Even the Aries warrior needs some home-alone time, some time to heal and prepare for next stage of the journey - or the battle, whichever floats your boat! Venus, currently in your sign and doing much to massage your ego and bring more love into your life, turns retrograde on the 6th so you may face a temporary separation from a loved one or a relationship or project could appear to go into reverse. Patience is required here, not panic actions. Should there be something seriously amiss Pluto will bring it to light during the last ten days of the month. Birthday Arians are looking at a year in which much of your life could change beyond recognition, and, regardless of when you were born, late March brings buried issues and feelings to the surface giving you an opportunity for a re-think and a fresh start.

1st May 2009 - 31st May 2009

Speed is not of the essence this month. Mercury will be in retrograde from the 7th and you'll find life a whole lot less frustrating if you just accept that everything is going to take time. Money and love dominate the Aries headlines with some celestial Rams beginning a love affair, others moving a relationship from semi-casual to a lot more permanent and others just generally finding more romance to life. Passions are certainly stirred on or near the 2nd... The full moon of the 9th marks the end of the Aries financial cycle for the year so although you may feel the effects of the credit squeeze more keenly around this time, you can also put an end to a monetary worry and certainly any bad spending habits. You'll also have to keep your eye on your possessions, since there's a slight chance of a loss on or around the 17th. Watch closely the events on or near the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction of the 27th – hopes could be realized and a wish granted.

1st June 2009 - 30th June 2009

You make up for lost time this month, both in the sense of getting back your energy and focus and discovering that projects placed on hold in May are gathering steam. The sun will be transiting the area of travel and communications so you have people to see and places to go, plus your neighbourhood could be in need of your feisty attentions. The full moon of the 7th could coincide with the signing of a contract or the start of a legal procedure, and if you are travelling that day, leave plenty of time for your journey and prepare to be patient. The temperature starts to rise on the 21st when the sun reaches the base of your solar chart – and we're not talking weather here. From this point until late July things of a domestic and property nature spring to the forefront of life and there could be many changes – planned and unexpected. The new moon of the 22nd opposes Pluto so anything that needs shifting, whether that applies to a personal/professional matter or your plans, will indeed shift. Some Arians could find their lives taking a radical turn, possibly involving a home or career move, and to distant parts.

1st July 2009 - 31st July 2009

This month has its pluses and its minuses. The pluses come in the form of a financial boost and a loving or generous offer, and the minuses in the way of unexpected developments, first and foremost related to home and property and second your ambitions. The sun will be highlighting the roots of life and the foundations of the future so if you're already planning some home renovations, even moving house, or you're putting in place the building blocks of a business or an ambitious plan, you're more than in synch with your stars. Venus and Mars will both transit the zone of travel and communications making for some romantic journeys and exchanges plus some animated discussions. Watch your step on or near the 7th, however, because you won't know where you're headed and you could land in very deep water. By far the most dynamic astro-event of the month will be the total solar eclipse of the 22nd, which falls in the aforementioned area of the roots of life: especially if you have a late April birthday or planets on the 29th degree of any sign, one of those destined events is on its way, one that will take you to a new country, whether in the literal or metaphorical sense.

1st August 2009 - 31st August 2009

If you were expecting to stretch out on some tropical beach, pina-colada in one hand, the latest must-read in the other, you could be in for a disappointment. Even if you do have holiday plans you'll be dashing from one point to the next and probably doing a fair amount of wheeler-dealering in the process. Plus, the journey itself could be quite eventful. Creative Rams will be in their element, setting to work on a new venture, being the host with the most and generally starring in their own productions while those with financial worries – concerns generally – will find solutions popping out of nowhere. (The week of the 10th could produce one of those stumbling blocks, which you can and must turn into a stepping stone.) Venus will be transiting the home zone, helping you beautify your surroundings and mend fences with members of the family, and, for some, there will be new romances beginning on home turf. The most dynamic periods of the month are the weekend of the 1st and the week of the 24th: Pluto is in high profile at these times so while you can accomplish great things – sweep away the debris of the past, no less – you will need to be careful not to alienate someone you still need on your side.

1st September 2009 - 30th September 2009

If you're an Aries work-aholic, you're going to love September. Aside from burning the mid-night oil at work and devoting yourself to chores and other duties there could be key developments career-wise. Then there's health... This is the optimum month of the year to have dental and physical check-ups and to deal with any health worries. Plus, if you're looking in the mirror and not seeing the perfect-you reflected back, embarking on a fitness programme and eating nutritiously will fix the problem. (When we go with the astrological flow, we get results.) But back to work. The Saturn-Uranus opposition has been dominating this area of your horoscope for a little over a year, which is why you may have experienced work difficulties or sensed that you were stuck in a rut and beholden to other people. The week of the 14th gives you an opportunity to break free of restricting conditions, whether you take action yourself or the fates do it for you. Don't miss any opportunity to set work wrongs to rights and to deal with any complaints. Saturn will be heading into the relationship zone next month and you want to have laid firm foundations for business and romantic relationships. The week of the 21st puts Pluto back on the map – great for a make-over but not the time to give people ultimatums and generally throw your weight around.

1st October 2009 - 31st October 2009

Every year at this time, the sun moves through the seventh house of your solar chart reminding you that you do not exist in isolation: there are people with whom you must work, live and interact. So, before you take that all too familiar unilateral stance, consider the benefits of communion, discourse and compromise. Aside from other people's lives impacting on yours, partners and co-workers need to be heard and their needs addressed so October could turn out to be crucial for the future of a business or romantic relationship. Take the full moon in Aries (4th) for example: the weaknesses and strengths of a relationship could emerge over the course of this weekend; it could be the time you decide to marry/live with another person or the moment you choose to throw in the towel. And in general this weekend could turn out to be a watershed. Venus heads into this same area on the 14th, a transit that will pour soothing oil on churning emotional waters and set the stage for romance, proposals and reconciliation. The periods around the 10th and 15th are also notable for their ability to raise passions and begin new chapters. But while the sun and Venus may be annual visitors to your seventh house, Saturn takes twenty-nine years to return to this area, which he does on the 29th October. Thus, between now and October 2012 you'll learn everything you needed to know about the importance of other people in your life: some Arians will marry, others divorce, there'll be business mergers and professional fallings-out but above all, there'll be lessons and you'll see the best and worst aspects of yourself mirrored by the people with whom you fall in love and make a commitment. They may be the most important three years of your life.
