The Following Month Ahead Horoscopes Were Found:
1st February 2003 - 28th February 2003 One thing you can say about your chart in February, it’s moving. But where that movement takes you and what transpires will vary considerably from Sagittarian to Sagittarian. In some cases movement can be translated quite literally so that you will be travelling during February, whether in the sense of one long journey, perhaps to foreign parts or out of state, or many short trips. In other cases, movement implies plans that have been lying idle will spring into life. And in general this is a month when there is much to be discussed and many journeys taken in the sense of understandings and agreements.
February can also be divided into two neat halves - the first fourteen days looking relatively trouble free and the second half appearing rather more convoluted. Until the 14th the alignments do not guarantee success and happiness but they will make your negotiations easier and any difficulties will be softened. And by the same token, just because the configurations from then on are more challenging does not imply that you’ll experience failure and misery. You may instead feel more under pressure and other people will be less malleable.
Mars remains in your sign throughout the month and this planet will provide you with the energy and grit to get you where you want to be. But, as you may know by now, Mars transits bring their share of conflicts and from time to time you’re likely to come up against some strong opposition - take the period between the 15th and 22nd for instance. If you do run into a proverbial brick wall at this time, distancing yourself from the situation could be your best policy - taking on someone bigger and better than you is bound to result in a severe bruising. And sometimes there is no more you can do about a situation - it’s simply run its course and you have to move on in a different direction. Saturn and Pluto are in the ascendant from the 12th onwards so although their combined force can help you achieve a major objective they will also help you see where you have clearly run out of road.
1st January 2003 - 31st January 2003 The arrival of Venus in your sign (7th) could do much to repair any of the damage incurred by last month's stormy influences. And with the prospect of Saturn exiting the area of relationships in a few months time your levels of confidence and optimism should be gradually creeping up the scale.
Somewhat perversely Mercury slams into retrograde almost as soon as the year begins so travel and communications will be less than plain sailing, especially around the 3rd and 12th. You can take the usual precautions, of course - not leaving journeys until the last minute and going everywhere with all the information you might need in the event of a last minute change. Also, you will need to be a little more patient when it comes to answers and decisions. The plus factors to retrograde Mercury remain the same - gaining time to reconsider your plans and learning much from the past. And since Mercury is retrograding in the area of money, going over your credit card statements and looking at the history of your spending could do much to illuminate any anomalies raised by the full moon of the 18th. This date, by the way, marks the point at which a new financial order begins.
Not only Venus but also Mars will be transiting your sign from the 17th and this is a very sexy combination. While Venus ups your charisma quota Mars provides you with the necessary determination and assertiveness to make any conquests and to get behind an ambition or two. Your appearance is likely to be more important to you and you may set about changing and certainly enhancing your looks. The one tendency you have to watch with Mars is over-assertiveness - you don't want to alienate all those people you could now have falling at your feet!
After the 23rd the cosmos begins to tie itself up in knots once more and around the time of the Venus-Pluto conjunction (25th) you will need to handle sensitive people with great care. Passions are indeed raised by such an influence, which may be fabulous if you're at the beginning of a romance but rather more of a problem if there are already any strained relations. Don't break any bonds in a fit of peak - use strategy and exhibit patience.
Otherwise, not a bad start to a brand new year.
1st March 2003 - 31st March 2003 When the sun arrives at the base of your chart and begins its transit of the fourth house, you are at the beginning of an important six-month cycle - a cycle when new ventures can be started and a fresh chapter opened. March itself is a prime time to plant seeds of any description and to lay the foundations of new structures with firmness and commitment. Home and family life are always important but never more so that when the sun and key alignments focus on the fourth house. Thus, these next four weeks could contain developments that add richly to the texture of family life and for some Sagittarians the prospect of a house move arises.
Mars will head out of your sign on the 4th and into the sector of money and self-worth. This planet could do much to chivvy up finances and it will certainly help you get behind any debts or flagging financial negotiations. Mars may also encourage you to spend more money and to increase your income in order to provide you with more security. All of which is to the good. Also in your favour is the passage of Venus through the area of communication, which should lead to some positive experiences, even a sprinkling of romance, linked to travel and, perhaps more importantly, make for effective discussions and good decisions.
Between the 8th and 18th a major configuration, involving the sun, Mercury, Saturn and Pluto is holding sway so this is a period during which to act cautiously and to look beneath the surface appearance of events for their truth. It could be that a conflict of interests will arise at this time or you could just experience conflict per se, therefore you should endeavour to have all your ducks in a row by the 8th at least. Other people are likely to be difficult to handle during the mid-month period and you may find yourself dealing with an outright enemy. Whatever the scenario, please remember that you are not invincible and that sometimes compromise, even withdrawal, is the better part of valour. At least give it a thought.
On the 21st the sun moves into your fellow fire sign, Aries, so beginning a much more light-hearted and fun-oriented few weeks - indeed the weekend of the 29th could mark a turning point for the better.
1st April 2003 - 30th April 2003 With the sun in fellow fire sign, Aries, and several pleasing alignments April is a predominantly happy month. All right, this may not bring an immediate cease-fire - in every sense of the phrase - but it will promote greater harmony.
The fifth house of the horoscope is the setting for much of the positive action, which means creative endeavours, competitive and social events, and romance swing into prominence. March may well have been a trying month and one when you doubted your abilities and feared you might come seriously adrift, but you seem to have got your confidence and optimism back in April. In part this may have to do with your own resilience and resourcefulness but there is a real possibility that an event - or series of developments - will account for the big bounce-back.
You may have to tread cautiously between the 11th and 18th, when Saturn and Pluto return to the foreground, but a difficulty overcome then will set your course ever more surely. Once again, it seems other people, if not a partner, is the source of any conflict, and withdrawing magnanimously is probably the best way to go. What Saturn and Pluto bring out into the open requires great tactical skill to resolve, and sometimes you really do just have to let go and move on.
This aside, the Easter theme of resurrection appears to be alive and well in your chart, with, perhaps, the return of a past issue or long-lost love/friend. And at the very least you yourself will find the capacity to pick yourself up out of the dust and get back on the proverbial saddle.
1st May 2003 - 31st May 2003 Sagittarians are the broad-brush-stroke artists of the zodiac - you care little for the minutiae of life and rarely have the time for contemplation or post mortems: it’s the new adventure that matters, the next horizon to explore. However, planets currently transiting the sixth house of your solar chart indicate that this is a time of preparation, a time when details count and a period when reflection and forethought make all the difference between success or failure.
This is also a month when health and life-style issues are to the fore. On the one hand May is the time to check out those aches and pains that you have been ignoring and a month when an overhaul of your health and fitness regime should be mounted. This is probably not the month to strut about your stage of life, displaying your talents and informing everyone how great you are. This may be true but for now you need to work on the details: practice makes perfect. Time spent in constructing your endeavours, following up information and checking out any anomalies will pay off big time later. Another reason for this extra vigilance and attention to minor flaws is the pre-eminence of Neptune. Neptune is not the most reliable of influences - things go missing under Neptune; plots are lost. Therefore, you need to be equally skeptical over wonderful news as rumours of impending disaster! Where work is concerned, the rumours could indeed be flying and a calm, measured attitude will save you grey hairs and gain you admirers.
Two eclipses in May make this a significant month for world affairs, but since the solar eclipse of the 31st falls in your opposite sign, Gemini, and occupies the relationship area of your horoscope, someone could be about to make a big impact on your life. Especially if you have a late November birthday, partners in particular and other people in general need to be heard: events in their lives could change your plans and you would be wise to acquiesce to their wishes or demands, for now. June also contains some block-buster alignments and although these may well be portents of great and good developments, they could also cause a few wobbles. Therefore, giving yourself time to think through best and worst-case scenarios before issuing instructions and stating your position would be in your best interests. Think like a Capricorn.
1st May 2003 - 1st May 2003 Due to unforeseen circumstances, this months forecast has been delayed!

1st June 2003 - 30th June 2003 In need of a little love? Looking for investors, supporters and a partner? Or simply seeking a meeting of minds? I’d like to say all your needs and expectations will be met by this month’s relationship oriented stars but let’s err on the side of realism and say instead that June sets the stage for significant exchanges of the verbal and emotional kind. The sun entered the solar house of partnerships on 21st May and is to be followed by Venus on the 10th June and Mercury on the 13th - and, of course, there was a solar eclipse in this selfsame area on 31st May. What all this jargon adds up to is a month when, especially if you have a November birthday or one between 8th and 12th December, someone is going to light your fire. (And I choose my words carefully.)
There will be a variety of ways in which an individual or an organization could make an impact: in some cases you may meet someone or join a company, which will change your direction and bring out dormant talents and feelings; in other cases, it will be apparent that a person or an organization is not capable of meeting your needs, in which case it would be appropriate to say your goodbyes. But for many Sagittarians it will be what other people do quite off their own bat that will make June a memorable month. When Venus transits the seventh house, other people usually have your best interests at heart and, if appropriate, someone will declare his or her love for you, but it would still behove you to remember that most other people are not as open-hearted, honest and generous as you, therefore you should be a little less trusting, especially in regard to business and financial liaisons. The full moon of the 14th (the only one this year in your sign) is a particularly potent time for the making and breaking of contracts. The 6th, 9th, 12th, and 23rd - 26th are other days to be on your guard for the unexpected and the sudden.
Mars heads to the base of your chart on the 17th earmarking a six-month period when activity on the home and family front will reach fever pitch. While Mars will give you the energy and the opportunity to get behind family and property matters, it will create a more contentious climate - one in which squabbles all too easily break out. All the more reason, therefore, to treasure your Venus transit and to make love, not war.
1st July 2003 - 31st July 2003 The first half of July is depth-charged and complex while the second half is largely expansive and pleasure-driven, so start as you mean to go on and put in the hard work first, then you can enjoy the rest to the full. The reason I use the words, depth-charged and complex is the concentration of planets currently in the eighth house of hidden agendas and transformational experiences. As a heart-on-your-sleeve, frank and fearless fire sign you tend to have a lot of trouble seeing behind the appearance of people and situations, which is why you can be duped by others and impervious to the signs of distress - especially financial distress! Thus, July’s more challenging first half could have much to do with chickens coming home to roost in the financial sense. However, if you do your sums first, you may well pre-empt a crisis. And if your monetary situation is fine and dandy apply a little more thought and caution to your dealings with other people in general and organizations in particular. The full moon of the 13th is guaranteed to bring to a head any simmering situation and while this may prove to be the moment to end a commitment it could also be the beginning of a new entente cordiale.
Also on the 13th, Mercury moves into your home territory of the solar chart - the ninth house of far horizons - and it will be followed by the sun (23rd) and Venus (29th) so by the end of the month you should be winging your way to distant locations, or at least making plans to do so in the future. Of course, not all the Sagittarians of the world will be queuing up at airports from the 13th but the theme of getting away from it all is playing long and loud. You may also find that by distancing yourself from certain individuals and situations that you gain the clarity you require.
The month ends on a Uranian note, which means surprises and changes to the agenda and, especially if you have a November birthday and/or you are thirty-nine-ish, this could be a liberating although somewhat volatile end to the month. And with more Uranian moments to come, any writing on the wall should be taken seriously. Conversely, Uranus may well produce the break-through you have been looking for.
1st August 2003 - 31st August 2003 It is said the Celestial Archer likes nothing better than to be on an adventure, preferably heading towards distant lands - the journey being an even greater experience than the destination itself. Well, if this strikes a chord with you, you’re going to love August’s planetary offerings. The ninth house of far horizons is lit up by the sun and Venus, taking you far in literal or metaphorical terms.
Travel is writ large - and in the main you should find journeys and visits to far away places enjoyable. The main danger spots fall around the 12th and between the 22nd and 30th. And by danger spots I mean that the influences at those times could produce delays and frustrations with transport and transportation; likewise, meetings and discussions could be convoluted and argumentative. On the plus side, especially around the time of the full moon on the 12th, a contract could be signed and hands shaken on a deal; also closure can be attained on an emotional matter.
Venus’s transit of the ninth house promotes long-distance romance, so some Archers may find their trip to foreign parts results in a passionate love affair, or at least a few dates with a stranger! Honeymoons and romantic get-aways could also be part of August’s rich romantic pattern. And, if you’re getting nowhere with someone you fancy or love, the written word could make a big difference.
The most event-packed part of the month - although some might find the going somewhat rocky and unpredictable - is between the 21st and 30th. Ruler, Jupiter and revolutionary Uranus are poised at opposite ends of the zodiac creating a climate of excitement and uncertainty. On the one hand, you should take care not to aggravate people in general and employers/authority figures in particular but on the other, if you have been waiting for a break-through on a career or property/domestic matter, this could be it. Jupiter’s entry into the 10th house of career, life-direction and ambitions (27th) looks set to bring some great opportunities into your life over the next twelve months, and you can expect to make terrific progress, perhaps in ways you had not dreamed of.
1st September 2003 - 30th September 2003 There have been two previous periods this year which may have proved highly eventful but a mite stressful - mid-to-late March and the mid-to-late June. This is because an intense planetary pattern dominated the astrology, on the one hand enabling you to make those once-in-a-decade moves and on the other to deal with some tough and possibly very unexpected developments. From late August until late September we have another such compelling alignment so for some Sagittarians it will be a case of dealing with a further wave of the same ‘stuff’ but for others anticipated and/or unscheduled events lead to permanent changes in your life-path. And while all Sagittarians can expect a month of both challenging and rewarding events those who have a birthday on or near the 10th December are almost guaranteed to have a month for the memory books!
The main planetary emphasis is in the tenth solar house of ambitions so at the very least you will be giving thought to where you stand and where you want to be in personal and professional terms. Thus, if you can see where you are now is leading directly to where you want to be in the future there is little work to do, but if there is a gaping chasm between your current circumstances and your hopes and dreams, these kinds of influences will help you get on the right track. To my mind the full moon in Pisces of the 10th and the moon in Gemini of the 17th are the two most important spots of the month and even if you will be unable to say anything of a life-changing nature happened then it is worth looking at the deeper implications of apparently minor incidents.
With Mercury in retrograde until the 20th and Mars in retrograde until the 27th communications will be the source of conundrums - getting hold of people you need could prove frustrating and getting them to sign on the dotted line could be even more so but at least it gives you too an opportunity to keep someone at arms length and to delay a decision until you feel ready to make it. Above all in this complex month, keep your cool!
1st October 2003 - 31st October 2003 With three months to go before the end of 2003, you appear to have suddenly realized you have a considerable amount to do in a relatively short period of time. Thus, October sees you on a crash course to get one or more endeavours off the ground and to tie up certain arrangements for Christmas and New Year. Friendships and collaborative ventures are the stuff of eleventh house transits (your lot for much of the month) so aside from an increasingly busy social life, your biggest gains and losses are likely to be found through your personal and professional associations.
Saturn’s input is strong during the next four weeks and although this planet has long gone from the sensitive area of relationships, where it created constant obstacles and some dispiriting moments, it is nonetheless resident in one of the key financial zones of your horoscope, so you are not quite out of the woods when it comes to balancing your accounts and getting people to contribute their fair share, or getting people to contribute, period! The 6th, 10th 14th and 27th are all days when Saturn is hyper-active, so at these times especially, you need to watch your spending and go cautiously with people who could affect your long-term security. On the plus side, Saturn will help you put in place the building blocks of new financial deals and set on firm ground projects, plans and productions.
Venus slips into the reclusive twelfth house on the 9th so you may find that a romantic relationship appears to go under a cloud, or that you are not able to see someone with as much regularity as before. By contrast, some Archers could start a romance with someone who is already attached or someone who wishes to keep the relationship secret. This is just a temporary passage, however, so don’t press the panic button if you feel things aren’t speeding along as you’d like and by the same token do not assume that you can keep an affair secret forever!
1st November 2003 - 30th November 2003 November is often a stranger-than-fiction month for Sag but never more so than this year. Not only is the sun transiting the mysterious twelfth house of your solar chart but two total eclipses and several impressive configurations make it a month of dramas and detours. (And if you would like to find out more about the grand alignment, please go to my new article on the home page - Harmonic Convergences, Eclipses and other awe-inspiring matters.)
First and foremost you need to bear in mind that you may not be sparking on all four cylinders. Now, this may translate as your not being in such top physical form as usual or as your not being as emotionally or mentally strong. Therefore, you need to cut back on your working schedule and your social commitments. This is your time to focus on the inner-you, to take note of your dreams and to keep your distance from people who and situations that stress you out. That being done you will be in great shape to meet the total solar eclipse in Sagittarius on the 23rd!
Before that time, Uranus will have shaken up your timetable and possibly a few other items on your agenda too. Therefore, right from the 1st November you will need to keep taking your patience pills and remembering that it’s not you personally who is to blame for other people’s failings and vicissitudes - for once you can blame your stars. However, you will be able to help yourself by going at a slower pace than usual and not taking undue risks with life, limb and other people’s tender extremities.
The total solar eclipse of the 23rd, like all new moons, augurs a brand new cycle for your affairs, especially if your birthday falls on the 23rd. Although the promise of the new is exciting, solar eclipses pack a powerful punch and particularly if you have a birthday between the 7th and 11th December going forward into the new may well mean saying goodbye to part of your past - and that could be a painful thing.
Certainly, by the end of the month you will have reason to say - who would ever have thought it!
1st December 2003 - 31st December 2003 Hopefully, those solar waves will be working their revitalizing magic on your body and soul now. Since September your chart has been in the doldrums and under fire at the same time and it’s a rare Sagittarian whose been whooping for joy. But December has its positive moments - particularly the 10th, 21st and 30th.
But let’s get rid of the difficult stuff first. Pluto is always the trickiest planet for you - especially if you have a 7th-13th December birthday. All through this year Pluto has been endeavouring to set you on the right path, although in the process it may have seemed to be a case of one upheaval and trauma after another. One of the characteristics of a Pluto transit is that you do not get to be the one in control - events and other people shape your life - so, in a way, you have to labour under a policy of acceptance and non-resistance. This month, the times when this theme is playing at its strongest are the 8th, 12th and 22nd - so not the days to poke the tiger in the cage!
On the 16th Mars enters the creative fifth house of your solar chart, thereby giving you opportunities to have fun and to bring new endeavours and associations into being. Mars will chivvy up your sex life too. Another feature of this transit is the boost it will give your confidence. If you’ve been too badly dented to fight back, you’ll get the courage to do so and if you’ve needed to display your talents and charms you’ll have the confidence to go into battle.
Finances are probably one area in which you’ll need to apply the brakes , otherwise the entry into 2004 is going to be a painful one! Maybe just this year you should decide that small is beautiful - and we’re talking budgets here.
1st January 2004 - 31st January 2004 You may have the reputation of being the most positive and optimistic sign of the zodiac but even you will have your work cut out being the life and soul of this New Year’s Eve party. Saturn is holding court and this planet is renowned for bringing us down to earth and making us keenly aware of life’s duties and limitations. Arguments lead to full-scale hostilities and someone who was merely critical of you and your ideas could turn into a serious enemy. On the plus side of Saturn, you will be able to get through a huge amount of work and if you have practical problems to solve, this planet will enable you to do so.
Then there’s finances!
Saturn’s sojourn in the area of joint interests could change the shape of your financial empire during the next eighteen months. With wise investments and minimal borrowing you will strengthen your position but taking out large loans and making plans based on the best possible scenarios could lead to serious problems in the future. Also, if you are leaving a business partnership or ending a marriage, do not expect a golden handshake. The opposition will be tough and uncompromising and you cannot afford to take short cuts or be less than honest. This having been said, January could act as a sort of dry run in regard to all these points: it could also prove to be a month when a shortage of cash and a surfeit of bills leads to something of a crisis.
Saturn’s influence begins to fade from the 9th so while the rest of the month cannot be described as fun on sticks it does improve. Venus’s arrival in the zone of home and family could inspire a beautification exercise, and in some cases moving to a new home is the answer to any sense of disharmony or dissatisfaction with your four square walls. The added input of Uranus (13th - 17th) makes for impulse moves, and any simmering frustrations with where you live and with whom you live could leap to boiling point. If this indeed turns out to be the case, you should ask yourself whether making a change would be to leap out of the frying pan and into the fire.
Jupiter comes back on line during the last week of January, providing a successful and happy ending to a month that had a less than glorious opening.
1st February 2004 - 29th February 2004 After a rather house-bound January, February’s stars enable you to get out and about, in some cases quite some distance. Yes, Sagittarian travel bugs will be delighted with these movement-oriented influences and even if you can’t board a plane to distant parts there will be other ways to widen your sphere of influence.
I am not sure that a Venus-Pluto aspect is the most brilliant way to start a month, but it does have a wake-up-and-smell-the-coffee fee about it. Any buried feelings are likely to erupt in a Plutonic climate, and factors that have been hidden emerge fairly powerfully. So take your patience pills on the weekend of the 31st January/1st February. While Venus is placed in the area of home and family, suggesting that any revelations and revolutions (!) are likely to take place on home territory, the relationship axis is also involved so some Sagittarians (especially the 8th - 12th December birthday group) may well find a business or romantic partnership is on a knife-edge. (Remember those patience pills, eh?)
I am not a great fan of Venus-Saturn aspects, although they do have their upside. These two are ninety degrees apart on the 14th and in tandem you may feel a considerable distance from your partner in love! Contracts can be made legally binding, thanks to Venus and Saturn, but at the opposite end of the scale, any problems or deficiencies in a relationship appear even more intolerable under Venus-Saturn squares. Let’s just say you see the reality of love this Valentine’s Day, whether that means you discover the depth of feeling and commitment someone has for you, or just how mistaken you have been!
If you have needed a push in a new direction, Uranus will give you a hefty one between the 19th and 29th. These ten days are especially eventful for November Sagittarians, but whenever you were born, if you have been wanting to make a bid for your independence or end an old order of any description here come just such opportunities. As they say: you can’t make an omelette without breaking eggs!
1st March 2004 - 31st March 2004 March is one of the year’s key months. The sun will be at the base of your chart, urging you to look to the roots of life, both in the sense of the home and family, and the foundations of business, financial and personal endeavours. You may find it helpful to look back at the events of some six months ago because plans made then and incidents that happened could well have a bearing on March’s developments. On the other hand, what may take place in March could set a whole new era in motion.
Late November birthdays and those born between the 8th and 13th December have the most to gain or lose in March’s planetary sweepstakes, although in the great span of time what happens or begins during the next four weeks, will ultimately add to your life’s lot, at the very least in terms of experience! The full moon of the 6th flanks the life-direction axis, indicating a conclusion, whether in the sense of reaching an understanding or coming to the end of a small chapter. Since Pluto is also a prime-mover, the first half of March is an appropriate time to eliminate structures, habits, opinions and aspirations that are keeping you tied to the past and preventing you from moving onward and upward. In roughly six month’s time, what you put in motion now will reveal its worthiness.
The first half of March is not an easy period, even if events are happy, successful and fulfilling: change and transformation of the Plutonic kind is never a piece of cake. Likewise, around the 28th when Uranus angles Mars in the area of relationships, people have the capacity to surprise you with their statements and actions. Mars-Uranus aspects are largely volatile so you’ll need to remember your anger management programme then, and accept a large or small alteration to your agenda with dignity and philosophy.
1st April 2004 - 30th April 2004 Well, here in the Northern hemisphere spring is sprung - and don’t your stars just show it! And while ‘down under’ nature may seem to be indicating just the reverse, in astrological terms a new season of growth is heralded in April’s alignments.
The sun transits the fifth house of pleasure and creativity, helping you find the joy-within and giving you some opportunities to do those things that make your heart feel good. Actually, some cardio-vascular exercise would not go amiss under these stars, but, of course, I was implying that romance and other heart-expanding experiences are on April’s agenda. Just how much the 9th’s connection between Venus and Uranus helps or hinders your course - romantic or otherwise - rather depends! This couple likes to produce rabbits out of the hat, so some Sagittarians could be struck by the thunderbolt of love at this time while others may experience an unexpected rift or rupture in a romance. Especially if you have a birthday between the 24th and 29th November, you will need to keep a lid on your temper in early April and avoid giving out threats and ultimatums.
Venus heads into the seventh house of love and relating on the 3rd, and she will remain here for five months. Venus is an absolute plus in this area of the horoscope: she does her best to find you someone to love and to give you a greater sense of being loved. But before you get carried away with the idea that the next five months are a piece of romantic cake, we must also accept that if the relationship you are in is mutually self-destructive or going nowhere, Venus will make you acutely aware of that fact. Then, at the appropriate times - a Venus-Pluto or Venus-Uranus moment, for instance - events become the catalyst of the demise of the relationship. As far as April is concerned, aside from the aforementioned Venus-Uranus square of the 9th, the Mars-Pluto opposition of the 24th requires care. In a nutshell, events of the weekend of the 24th are transformational - a time to let go, let live and move on.
1st May 2004 - 31st May 2004 The month begins with Mercury back on track: delays and misunderstandings clear up, and if you’ve been dithering about a decision, you’ll suddenly know which way to go. Not that this has merely to do with Mercury’s turning direct! On the 2nd, Venus, in the area of relationships, opposes Pluto in your sign, and two days later a total lunar eclipse takes place - this, on the axis of work and life-style. The usual birthdays - 9th - 13th December - are the principle candidates for any major developments in early May, while those born in November should expect their smooth pond of life to ripple at the end of the month. Certainly, we can look to some key world events between now and the end of the May - and June has an even stronger theme of ends-of-orders about it.
Venus has been transiting the relationship zone for just over a month, so a few of you have experienced some beautiful moments regarding a love affair, long-term liaison or marriage, but when Venus met Uranus (around Easter) a relationship could have hit a rocky patch and when Venus meets Pluto (2nd) those issues may resurface again, making this weekend crunch-point for the two of you. Passionate beginnings and tumultuous endings are the hallmark of Venus-Pluto aspects, and even on a good day these two planets can expose fissures at the heart of a relationship, which need resolving.
On the 17th, Venus turns retrograde, and will remain on a backwards drift until the end of June. This period may coincide with a touch of frost over relationships in general and one alliance in particular: my advice would be not to fuss about this state of affairs because every relationship has seasons and this may simply be a time when a liaison is in neutral, and by July you’ll be motoring again. However, if you know in your heart of hearts that a relationship is in crisis, once Venus has turned direct you’ll be able to make some sensible decisions. If, on the other hand, you are heart-free and you meet someone while Venus is retrograde, this relationship may have much to do with old issues (even a past life connection) and once Venus heads direct the relationship may already have served its purpose.
The week of the 24th puts Uranus back on the map, so the unusual and the unexpected will surround your life - the 27th is quite the most electric day of the whole month. As I sometimes say, be prepared to be shaken and stirred!
1st June 2004 - 30th June 2004 Life would be perfect if it weren’t for other people! a truism that will almost certainly apply during this month of celestial aggravation! However, you can draw some comfort from the fact that the whole zodiac is under these conflict-ridden stars, and one way or another everyone is making a rather large learning curve.
The seventh house of the horoscope is in the spotlight, so while relationships of all kinds become the focus for the month, it may be worth remembering that this sector of the chart is also known as the house of open enemies. And with hard aspects to Pluto and Uranus for almost three weeks, you may well find that you have a serious competitor, even an adversary. Therefore, forget your usual Sagittarian honesty and enthusiasm, and keep your plans and your feelings under wraps until you know for sure that they will be well received, not rejected or abused.
The full moon of the 3rd is in Sagittarius, and it sets the ball rolling for what may well be a memorable few weeks. While compelling attractions are born under Uranus and Pluto, abrupt and acrimonious endings also take place. Late November and 9th - 13th December birthdays bear the brunt of the combined Uranus-Pluto force, but whenever your birthday, put on your diplomatic boots (every day) and avoid topics and situations that and people who could be described as volcanic.
Life improves from the 19th and once Venus has turned direct (29th) a puzzling delay picks up or an association that has been under a cloud begins to warm. And while I have been less than joyful about June’s astrological prospects, what comes into being this month could indeed change your life for the better.
1st July 2004 - 31st July 2004 Well, that was the June that was! So if you are sporting an ego-bruise or two - or possibly worse - July represents a period of recovery. The planets are kinder to us all, and for Sagittarians in particular there are signs that you can get away from it all.
Mars and Mercury will be moving through the long-haul sector of your solar chart and, by the 22nd the sun will join them, so if you’re not already clutching an airline ticket, you could be making plans for a long-distance trip later in the year. Of course, the more significant message of ninth house transits is that you should now be acquiring distance and perspective in psychological and emotional terms. Therefore, if some of June’s events caused you a degree of pain and hassle, you can do some good work in July in the sense of coming to terms with situations and moving on from them.
Saturn sounds a note of reality during the first ten days, and since this planet is currently in one of the key financial sectors of your chart, you could resolve a monetary issue or making a sensible long-term financial decision. I wouldn’t describe Saturn as the cheer-leader of the planets, so it might be worth also preparing yourself for one of those moments of truth - and not necessarily in regard to finances.
By the 17th, life is looking a whole lot perkier: there could be happy social events to attend, and with Venus in the area of relationships hooking up to the really jolly Jupiter, a romantic high point could be on the cards. Certainly, if you meet someone around this time or you are celebrating an anniversary/getting married, you should be entirely pleased with the way things work out. A little less guarantee of romantic blue skies and sunshine is presented by the 25th’s Venus-Pluto opposition: while passion is a given under such stars, it remains to be seen whether this manifests as doing all for love or giving a romantic relationship the boot.
Nevertheless, July is on balance a far, far better month than June.
1st August 2004 - 31st August 2004 Most Sagittarians love travel, but under a retrograde Mercury you might be tempted to believe you’d have been better off staying at home! Now, before you cancel your travel plans, let me assure you that you can still reach your chosen destination under a back-tracking Mercury but it could take longer and you may have some very interesting experiences along the way. The first thing you should do is put away any expectations that you will get anything done immediately. Whether you’re home decorating, trying to get a business deal off the ground or simply communicating information to friends and family, virtually nothing will come together when and how you expect it. OK?
Now, the good news. Well, the sun is at a perfect angle to your sign, so, especially around the 12th, there could be a breakthrough in a dead-locked situation, and you should be entirely happy with the way events pan out. Choose this period to begin a new venture or make a romantic move, and you have your best shot of the month at making it work.
Uranus plays a big part in August’s story, which means from the 17th - 28th there are more twists and turns on life’s path than your average corkscrew. Especially if you have a November birthday, this is one of four periods this year (the others were to be found in late February/early March and late May/early June, and there are more to come in September and November) when overnight developments upend your plans, and everyone you deal with appears to have gone temporarily insane! Be ready to adapt to new circumstances, and don’t make a threat, a promise or a resignation without being sure you can live with the consequences.
1st September 2004 - 30th September 2004 Having fun yet? Well, I'm not sure that you'll have fun under these stars but you certainly won't be bored. Pluto and Uranus once again dominate cosmic affairs, so even if you graze gracefully through the month, you can be sure many of your fellow Archers are lurching from crisis to crisis. And, although you may be fortunate enough to score a major success now, this is not the time to act in a high-handed manner, nor to assume that what goes up will not come down. That word hubris is a good one to ponder on!
This is not the first month of the year to produce a series of challenging angles to Pluto and Uranus - we've seen similar patterns in March, June and late August - but they are nonetheless worthy of caution. You can consider the period between the 7th and 22nd to be one when you should avoid taking a risk of any description: information that has been mislaid or suppressed may surface and if there is a simmering problem it's likely to boil over during this fifteen-day period. These powerful alignments invariably preside over major world events, whether of the great and good variety or the deeply unsettling sort, and I wouldn't want to be a politician making any kind of false claim under these stars! truth will out.
The focus of the planets is on your role in life and your aspirations so, on the one hand, this is a dynamic and significant few weeks for your career and, on the other, you may make a big decision about where you want to be and who with. September's stars are all about location, location. Once again it is the mid-December birthdays and the late November Sagies that get the best and worst of these influences, and for as many of you as are celebrating your good fortune and progress there will be others who are suffering a loss or disappointment. Be sweet and charming to all and sundry - any opposition arising under these alignments will be fierce.
Ruler, Jupiter, enters the perfectly balanced sign of Libra on the 25th so over the next twelve months you should be able to concentrate on the quality of life as opposed to survival. Material concerns may not disappear but it will be vitally important for you to find a sense of purpose and fulfilment in what you do. To this end, one or more of September's developments could encourage you to leave a job or change some aspect of your working life.
1st October 2004 - 31st October 2004 You get time off for good behaviour in October, by which I mean if you fell foul of September's alignments you get the opportunity to relax and regroup now. The planetary focus is in the eleventh house of collaboration and creativity, so, on the one hand, October is going to be a sociable month and, on the other, friendships take precedence, and you get to find out why working as a team has its advantages.
Venus will be transiting the tenth house of the solar chart bringing you to the attention of superiors and people you would like to impress. It is a time when you can put yourself in a favourable light, and make good connections. The only times this trend will be in jeopardy are around the 6th and 20th - these are both periods to treat people, especially partners and employers/employees, with kid gloves. Uranus (6th) and Saturn and Pluto (20th) create tensions and often indicate a dark passage of some description. Thus the more aware you are of other people's feelings and intentions, and the more cautious you are with your words and actions, the better.
There are two eclipses this month: the first, on the 14th, is a partial solar eclipse and therefore not so noteworthy, but the second is a full metal jacket total lunar eclipse (28th) and therefore bound to make a wave of some description. World affairs aside, this latter part of October and early November could produce the results you have been waiting for, especially in regard to your career, and for some Sagittarians the eclipse marks the end of a chapter as far as a job or working association is concerned.
From the 23rd, the sun will be transiting the mysterious twelfth house so, aside from paying more attention to your health and getting as much rest as you can, you should bear in mind that, like the autumn itself, much is going on under the surface of life!
1st November 2004 - 30th November 2004 At this time of year - between the 24th October and 21st November to be precise - the sun occupies the subterranean twelfth house, making you feel less sure of your territory, become more physically and emotionally vulnerable, and both accentuating your fears and raising your hopes. In other words, it is a deeply confusing period. Therefore, try not to over-cram your social schedule and give a wide berth to situations that and people who press all your sensitive buttons. On the other hand, your dream life could be a gas! Indeed, the one area to thrive under a twelfth house transit is the inner world of dreams and psychic experiences. And, while you may not be able to do anything in the real world about perplexing situations, your unconscious can work effectively on problems: you can also sow the seeds of future events.
For the entire month you need to keep your baloney-meter charged - people may not be telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth, and it may be very difficult to separate fact from fiction. And if you see a distress signal, do not ignore it. I mention this because almost as soon as the sun enters your sign on the 21st it makes contact with crazy, unpredictable, Uranus, so that sleepers are awoken and all sorts of things that have been under wraps come out into the light. Of course, this period of surprises could be entirely heartwarming, but, especially if your birthday is between the 21st and 27th, this last week of the month is not a time to take risks with finances and relationships. On the other hand, it is an excellent time to make a break with tradition and to free yourself from commitments and situations that are standing in the way of your success and happiness.
1st December 2004 - 31st December 2004 Get ready for one of the most important months of 2004, especially if your birthday falls on or near the 24th November or 12th December. As in many Decembers of recent years, Pluto and Uranus take part in the run up to Christmas, ensuring that there are some surprises in store - and not just on the Christmas tree. More about this shortly.
Until the 16, romantic Venus will be tucked away in the low key twelfth house, so a love affair may be under a bit of a cloud, or you may experience difficulty in understanding a partner's feelings, or even those of your own. Once Venus enters your sign, this trend will gradually fade away: a love affair could be back on course, and you will be surer of your own feelings. Indeed, 16th December - 10th January is a premium period for Sagittarian engagements and nuptials, however, if a relationship has been continuing in secret, be prepared for the cat to come out of the bag. This theme of revelation is inherent in the alignments involving Pluto (6th - 14th) and Uranus (19th and 31st). As I often say, push comes to shove under both these planets, whether this means you reach the end of your tether and you can no longer hold back the tide of your feelings, or whether other people receive the same message and make a decision that affects you and your future. And, of course, it is usually under these kind of powerful and transformational skies that important world events take place.
Mars will also be transiting the undercover twelfth house until the 25th, encouraging the already strong trend for behind the scenes activities, and adding to the general confusion. However, your dream life could be fantastic, as will be your capacity to create blue-prints for the future. Also, it may help to know that Mercury will be retrograding until the 20th, so there may be perfectly logical reasons for anyone not returning your calls or a situation appearing to stall. As soon as Mercury gets back on track, communication melt-downs become a thing of the past, and a plan that was in disarray could be back together.
I'm not sure whether the 31st's Mars-Uranus square will turn out to be delightful or disruptive, but it is certainly a perfect symbol of the end of an old era and the beginning of a new.
1st January 2005 - 31st January 2005 This is turning out to be a Christmas that some Sagittarians will remember for a long, long time. Uranus and Pluto are both present at the New Year celebrations, and these two planets like nothing better than to surprise and amaze. Hopefully, any revelatory moments will prove delightful but if you, like your Martini, get shaken and stirred, remember: all things pass!
The planetary focus is on personal life and finances, with the emphasis on personal for the first week and finances from then on. Ideally, you should be waking up to the real state of affairs, whether this means recognizing your own true feelings and acting upon them, or whether you come across some information that puts you fully in the picture. Either way, January is an excellent time to make radical, life-defining moves. The usual suspects are in the frame here - in other words, the late November birthdays and the mid-December Saggies, and rather than wait and see what the cosmos can again do for you in waking you up to reality, right from the 1st of the month you should get behind any ailing liaisons and drooping financial situations. What you put right under Pluto, what you bring to an end and start anew, will prove very fruitful, possibly immediately but certainly in the future.
January is a tough month for the zodiac as a whole. Aside from major international events - all of them redolent with the theme of the ending of old orders and the implementation of new - it seems many people are cleaning house in every sense of the phrase. Therefore, you may be aware of a kind of domino effect, with one event in someone else's life rebounding on yours, and so on. The last week of the month contains similar influences as the first, so you may be able to settle a matter that arose earlier in January, or decisions made by others will take effect then. On the other hand, a new situation may develop, once again urging you to re-think a strategy, if not a part of your life. Endings and beginnings indeed.
1st February 2005 - 28th February 2005 Your sights should be looking a whole lot brighter thanks to February's vastly improved stars. Indeed, with the third house of travel and communications in the frame, the reason for any uplifted spirits could be a holiday or a journey with happy consequences.
Travel notwithstanding, life in general has more movement: situations that proved difficult in January could start to ease, and if you suffered a major set-back, perhaps in regard to a relationship or a job, networking could produce some excellent results. Getting ideas off the ground and being prepared to go out on a limb for your ambitions is another of February's themes.
Just how much Neptune will help or hinder this upwardly mobile process rather depends. .. Neptune encourages us to believe in our dreams and to pursue the path of the soul, but it can be a very deceptive influence, and we can be led completely up the garden path by this planet. Thus, in order to stay grounded, you must question the integrity of others and the reality of your own beliefs. Romance is another Neptunian cause celebre so many Sagittarians will enjoy the romance of February, whether this manifests as getting married, falling in love or simply being reminded of the importance and value of loving and being loved.
Until the 18th the cosmos is in a relatively calm and co-operative state but by the weekend of the 19th Uranus is back on the map. Uranus awakens us to previously unknown facts and feelings: it also jolts us out of routine ruts, so there is much to welcome from a blast of Uranian fresh air. However, Uranus is an unpredictable customer, and to remain sane and sober during the last eight days of the month, be prepared for some unexpected changes to your agenda and don't assume other people will conform to your expectations. On the other hand, if you have been debating a domestic or career move, these Uranian aspects are precisely what you need. Onward and upward indeed.
1st March 2005 - 31st March 2005 I've got one word to say to you about March: Pluto. Yes, this month is all about planet Pluto - its benefits and its disadvantages. As you may know, Pluto is working its way slowly through your sign but is currently focusing on the mid-December birthday group. A Pluto transit lasts some eighteen months, and represents a time of transition - you are going from one phase of your life to another, in the process some activities, people and situations are being left behind as new ones take their place. This is not always an easy process, primarily because you have very little say in what stays, what goes and what comes in. March is one of those months when the sun, Mercury and Venus all angle Pluto, thus aiding that slow process of change and transformation but in small, dramatic ways, and in case you want to know when these peaks occur, jot in your diary, the 1st, 10th, 14th and 18th. This month the base of your chart is the focus for these Plutonic themes, which means the big events of the month will tend to be related to domestic and family concerns. Making moves on the home front is appropriate now, whether you move house, renovate, refurbish or there are changes and key developments within the family circle itself.
Indeed, March comes in on a Mercury-Pluto square - and indication, perhaps, of jumping in at the deep end. You may stumble across some previously unknown information or a situation could prove unexpectedly challenging. While you may be able to tackle a Herculean task under Mercury-Pluto, and get to the root of a matter, you can also feel blocked by bureaucracy and intimidated by authority figures - power struggles are consistent with hard angles to Pluto. My advice would be to forget you're a straight-talking, shoot-from-the-hip Sagittarian and take a leaf out of Libra's book of winning friends and influencing people. In other words, remain charming, open to negotiation and compromise, whatever the aggravation.
Once the sun moves into fellow fire sign, Aries, life will take on a more upbeat tempo, and even if on the same day (20th) Mercury goes into reverse gear, thereby putting the brakes on travel and communications, you will be entering a period when pleasure and fun take over from strife and struggle. Indeed, Easter week could turn out to be brilliant, and certainly the time to celebrate love and the company of loving friends.
1st April 2005 - 30th April 2005 The month begins on a high note for Sagittarius with Jupiter , the ruler of your sign, inspiring high spirits and extravagant gestures. The zones of love, fun and friendship are brought into play here and, with the sun and Venus getting up close and personal it seems you can't fail to have a good time. Jupiter is the planet of expansion and new opportunities, so your social life could really take off, possibly even producing a new romance along the way. If there is a downside here you could just have a little too much fun... Jupiter can encourage you to be overly expansive or optimistic, so beware of flashing your credit cards too often and believing that you are invincible - there will be a price to pay! Being with groups rather than going solo will particularly benefit you at this time and travelling abroad with friends seems the perfect Sagittarian way of making the most of these alignments.
Now let's get down to the nitty gritty! On the 8th the eclipsed new moon combined with a series of aspects to Saturn brings a more serious note into life and love. Eclipses herald new beginnings - a happy prospect - yet the way the new comes in could have an element of difficulty and effort attached to it. Saturn is currently giving you lessons in limitations and boundaries regarding finances and relationships, so while new commitments and fresh starts may indeed lie ahead, you will need to be patient and prepared to work for what you want. Saturn can make us feel unloved or rejected, but this planet can also help us make binding commitments, so, for instance, you may find yourself temporarily parted from a loved one or you could suddenly realise that your feelings for somebody are much deeper than you imagined.
Pluto played a pivotal part in last month's astrological story, and if you went to hell and back with a relationship or felt you had encountered a brick wall of opposition, this planet was almost certainly behind it! In April, however, Pluto shows you his other side, encouraging you to have faith in yourself and to allow your personality to shine through your endeavours. Creativity is high and starting new ventures, finding romance and discovering the joy of life are major themes for April - it's an excellent time to start new projects, whether they involve trips to the DIY store, writing a novel or the patter of tiny feet!
The lunar eclipse of the 24th highlights the axis of work and lifestyle, and since this is a full moon, an ending of some description is appropriate. It may be that problems you have been coping with quite well suddenly become overwhelming, thereby precipitating changes in your job situation. On the other hand, with a change of season you could be discovering that last year's gear doesn't seem to fit so well, thus a change in eating and lifestyle could be in order.
In a nutshell, a month for new starts, however they come in.
1st May 2005 - 31st May 2005 With the sun, Mercury and Venus cruising through the sixth and seventh houses of your solar chart, the focus is on work and love, whether this translates as discovering you love to work or whether you have to work on love. I wish I could say it was all going to be plain sailing, but it might be nearer the mark to describe the month ahead as interesting.
Communication comes to the fore around the 7th when Mercury and Saturn add a certain gravitas to the areas of love and intimacy. It could be that you're having serious heart-to-heart discussions, or reaching agreements of a binding nature. Indeed, this weekend is a curious mix of the real and the fantastic, the dreary and the divine. Fortunately, Venus enters the arena of relationships on the 10th, so if the month didn't get off to a great start, from this point on, this beautiful planet should infuse life with grace, charm and, yes, love. Now is the time to enjoy your partner's company more, or, if you are single, to go out and meet someone new. But before you get lulled into a false sense of complacency, Uranus is back with a bounce by the 12th...
This controversial planet is still ploughing its way through the home zone, making for periodic upsets and unusual developments, one of which may arise on or near the 15th when fiery Mars conjuncts Uranus. If you have been debating a move or change in your lifestyle, this conjunction will be all you need to get moving and motoring, however, since to be forewarned is to be forearmed, this mid-May period could prove to be highly volatile and it won't take much to tip an already fragile situation over the edge. And on a purely practical note, since the watery sign of Pisces is involved, the unexpected and the volatile could literally mean a leaking pipe. Uranus, of course, is also known as the Great Awakener and, combined with energetic Mars, you could find yourself experiencing some profoundly stirring emotions, whether these take the form of angry outbursts or tears of joy. You choose!
On the 23rd the only full moon in your sign this year takes place, empowering you and encouraging the process of closure and completion. This full moon coincides with a series of powerful aspects to Venus in the area of relationships: aside from the already strong theme of emotional highs and lows, this mid-to-latter part of May could be the time the thunderbolt of love strikes or you run out of patience with a partner or loved one. Nevertheless, the Venus-Pluto opposition of the 29th, although passionate and explosive, could help resolve the outbursts, disagreements and uncertainties of May. And one way or another, I suspect your relationships will be more clearly defined as the month draws to a close.
1st June 2005 - 30th June 2005 Relationships are this month's big story: the sun will be bringing warmth and energy to those which are in a healthy state and highlighting difficulties in others which are in need of a little repair. Uranus enters the scene at the very start of June when you can expect to be shaken and stirred by people to whom you relate most closely. Over the past few months, Uranus has gradually been awakening feelings at the core of your being and urging you to look in new directions for your fulfilment, thus the passage of the sun and Mercury through the area of relationships and their links to Uranus make June one of the months of 2005 for sudden changes of heart and unexpected bursts of romance. It's also possible that you will be discussing a house move with partners since Uranus is currently based in the home zone, so if your present surroundings are failing to impress it might be time to consider other options...
While I will be giving you a week by week view of June's powerful alignments, it is safe to say that the first half of the month is the more electric and potentially life-changing. There could be a direct link between then events of December and those of this June, and if you are perplexed by someone's behaviour or the actions of an organization, you may find the reasons lie in decisions taken at the end of 2004. And while this notion may have relevance to your personal life, events on the world's stage could also hark back some six months. Pluto has a big part to play in the story of the 1st - 15th, and if you have a mid-December birthday you'll probably already know that this planet has ways of making you understand that you are not always in control of your own destiny! While Pluto may bring about new and powerful alliances, it will also expose and eliminate those that are rotten at the core - and this theme applies to working relationships as well as romantic ones. Thus, if you have been asleep at the wheel of a relationship, and you have a mid-December birthday, prepare to be forcefully awoken. June is indeed a month of endings and beginnings.
The sun enters the eighth house on the 21st bringing shared resources into prominence, and with the full moon of the 22nd highlighting the axis of finance and values you can sew up loose ends, finalize commitments and prepare the way for new contracts and monetary investments. And although the last weekend of the month has an aura of reality about it, revealing, perhaps, some unwise investments, this is also a time when great things are born.
1st July 2005 - 31st July 2005 Compared to June, July is a positive breeze, so if you came a cropper thanks to Pluto, Uranus et al you have a few weeks in which to repair and regroup. The deep and meaningful eighth house of the horoscope is where most of the action is - at least to begin with - so if you know your finances could do with a brush up, now's the time to get out the calculator and the bank statements, and if you want to take a new relationship to a more profound level, don't waste your July stars - go plunge!
Venus, the planet of love, harmony and union, is transiting the zone of far horizons, activating your desire to travel and expand your personal and professional boundaries: for some a new romance is sparked in a foreign place or with someone from a different background, while for others, time spent in a distant location rejuvenates a moth-eared relationship. Indeed, with dreamy Neptune's encouragement, the first half of July could prove spectacularly romantic. By contrast, should this same planet cast a less than wonderful spell over a partnership, avoid making snap decisions until you know the facts and the full extent of your feelings.
On the 16th July, Saturn heads into your fellow fire-sign, Leo, for a two-year journey through the aforementioned area of far horizons: potentially, this is a terrific development for you - you should be able to achieve a long-term ambition or two, and should you need extra skills and qualifications, putting in the study under Saturn could dramatically improve your earning potential, if not your life horizons. Sagittarius has a bit of a reputation for starting in a blaze of glory and fizzling out before the job is done, so to speak, but Saturn could and should help you fulfil a dream, and at least see projects through to the end.
After the full moon of the 21st, the astrology gets a little more sticky: a development during these last ten days could amount to a disappointment, although if you're prepared to wait until mid-August, things could change yet again. Mercury will be retrograde from the 23rd, playing havoc with travel and communications but helping you take a well-deserved rest from the rat race.
1st August 2005 - 31st August 2005 Foreign fields occupy centre stage in your life this month. Of course, this is nothing new for Sagittarians, whose hearts and minds are very much concerned with exploring new territories, but, whether your travels are physical or philosophical, you might just find it more difficult than usual to reach your destination. The sun is urging you to fulfil your Sagittarian nature by broadening your horizons, but there are some flies in the ointment to contend with. For starters, Mercury, the planet of travel and communications is travelling in reverse gear, which won't help you get from A to B. Then there's Neptune, adding it's own particular brand of confusion on the 2nd, so don't be surprised if you experience delays or lose your way around this time. On the 8th, the sun opposes Neptune, again affecting travel and communication, and it might just be that you decide to go with the flow and stay on the beach instead of battling against the planets. Who knows, there, might even be some sort of spiritual message for you here.
By the 10th, the emphasis shifts to your career. You could suddenly be gaining some reward, a pay rise or bonus, which could transform your life in some way. On the other hand, you could find yourself enjoying a boost to your public image, which will enhance your self-esteem. Before you feel too pleased with yourself, tempers could become frayed in the workplace around the 13th and you may need to curb your Sagittarian tendency to be too outspoken. Religion and politics could be at the heart of any dispute. The very next day, however (14th) you should be feeling energized and revitalised, so, if indeed there was an argument the previous day, it's likely that you will have come away feeling victorious.
Communications and travel should run more smoothly after the 16th, when Mercury resumes its forward motion. On the 17th Venus enters the sociable sign of Libra, and from this date social events and fostering friendships bring warmth and happiness to life.
For the remainder of the month, Mars, the warrior, is adding energy and intensity to your workplace, possibly urging you to get back in control of your diet or re-vamp your lifestyle. If your willpower has been a little lacking of late, Mars will give you the determination you need to succeed.
1st September 2005 - 30th September 2005
What can you say about a month that has Uranus and Pluto taking turns to amaze? Interesting at the very least... The sun and Mercury will be at the top of your solar chart, bringing you and your talents to other people's attention and encouraging you to get behind career matters and ambitions close to your heart. However, from the outset, you should be prepared for some strange developments, and for the occasional upset to those plans of yours, especially if you have a late November/early December birthday or were born on or near the 14th December.
Often, when we have alignments such as these, global developments grab our attention: you yourself may have nothing to complain about but events in near and distant parts could draw your sympathies and concerns. However, should Uranus and Pluto provide a personal awakening, you can be a hundred percent sure that it is in your long-term best interests. Uranus brings changes on the home and family front while Pluto is more concerned about your belief systems and your relationships. My advice, should you be on the receiving end of a less than welcome development, is to wait until the whole story has unravelled before taking action. And this may well mean waiting until after the 18th or better still, the 29th. There is something rather fated about September's events, so be patient and trusting.
As far as your career is concerned, you can look to September as the beginning of a new cycle. You get to see if your energies have been correctly placed and whether or not you have impressed those who count. Should you have been contemplating changing your job, and you are in one of the aforementioned birthday groups, this is the month to hand in your notice and head in a brand new direction.
1st October 2005 - 30th October 2005 Collaborations and friendships are high on your list of priorities this month and it may be that a group endeavour reaches a critical point or you are called upon to support a friend in need, and possibly around the 3rd or 17th when two eclipses illuminate this area of your life. Health and lifestyle issues are also being highlighted at this time as Mars stations in this sector of your solar chart, so if you have been thinking of joining an exercise class or going on a diet, this would be a good time to do so. However, expect to feel the benefits in months rather than days - the timeline of an eclipse can be anything from a few weeks to six months.
Venus enters your sign on the 8th,where it will remain for the rest of the month, so, if the beginning of October was a little fraught, this beautiful planet will lighten the load and inject more fun into life. Invitations should come your way and this is the perfect time to attend social gatherings where you can display your jovial nature to its best advantage - there could also be some romantic moments on their way. Make the most of any creative outlets or opportunities for pleasure, because, by the end of October you may well feel the need to withdraw a little.
The second eclipse of the month (17th) signals the end of a gestation period. Cast your mind back to April: did anything happen then? If so, events in this mid-to-latter part of October may well complete a process. A romantic affair begun in April could be in a state of transition now, whether some of you are thinking of ending a relationship, or ready to make a bigger commitment. Since Venus is in harmony with Saturn, the more likely trend is for commitment rather than separation, but partings, if they happen, should be good-natured and mutually agreed. Those of you in well-established stable partnerships could find that a child or creative project is requiring your attention - avoid shooting from the hip, Sagittarius...
On the 22nd the sun meets your ruler, Jupiter, so celebrations (maybe in secret) are the order of the day. As Jupiter makes its move into Scorpio on the 26th, you begin to seek more depth and meaning in your life. During the next year you will benefit from looking beneath the surface in life, preferring one to one contacts rather than large gatherings. Life is a spiritual journey and none understands this better than you Sagittarius. Thus, you may become more serious and introspective under this influence, although you will emerge a wiser and better person because of your experiences.
1st November 2005 - 30th November 2005 The sun has now entered the most reclusive part of your solar chart and the new moon of the 2nd, also in this area, emphasises the need for you to withdraw and replenish your inner being. For you, Sagittarius, this will probably mean curling up with a good book so you are broadening your knowledge and feeding your soul at the same time. We all need periods of reflection in our lives to re-connect with the divine and you are no stranger to the spiritual side of life. So, even though you might surprise your friends by declining invitations in favour of spending time in your own company, you should follow your instincts for the time being. By the full moon of the 16th, you will probably be feeling a strong need to be of service to others in some way. Demands may be made upon your time and energy, but you will be keenly aware of the value of helping those in need.
On the 14th, Mercury begins its retrograde motion so for the remainder of the month you might find it more difficult than usual to make yourself understood. Don't worry, things will return to normal in December, but don't be surprised if you find yourself saying, "He / she just doesn't understand me!" more than once during this period. Mercury could also be delivering sudden, unexpected news around the 6th and 21st, and this is likely to affect your home life rather than your career.
On the 22nd, the sun enters your own sign and this will encourage you back into the wider world. By the 29th, however, the sun and Uranus square up to each other, so those of you born towards the end of November could be on the receiving end of sudden unexpected changes, which affect your domestic bliss. Look back to February to remind yourself how the effects of Uranus can feel. Changes you might not have wished for could now seem to have been necessary and unavoidable. The same could be true of any surprise packages Uranus has in store for you this month. This time, Jupiter, your ruling planet, is assisting you on your journey through life and you should be feeling more optimistic about the future and ready to leave the past behind you. Spiritually re-charged, you're looking and feeling more like your old self which comes as something of a relief to us all.
1st December 2005 - 31st December 2005 Are you ready to rock and roll? I hope so because under a cosmos like this finding your centre and retaining your equilibrium could prove the challenge du jour, each and every day. The month begins with a new moon in your sign, so if you're ready to kick over the traces of the past and begin again, this is your first opportunity of December to do so, and if your birthday falls on this day, expect your year ahead to be full of pioneering possibilities. Mercury gets back on track on the 4th, followed on the 10th by Mars, so the delays and confusion of November will be replaced by clarity and action. Indeed, by the end of the month doubts of any sort should be eradicated.
Not that December is the easiest month of 2005. Like March, June and September before it, this month puts both Pluto and Uranus in the frame, forcing you to confront the good, the bad and the patently unworkable, and set about making positive changes. Quite the most spectacular combination of a full moon and Pluto during the 14th-19th gives you the power and the passion to remove a mighty obstacle, yet, of course, this same period is ripe for someone else to make a radical move that necessitates unexpected alterations to your life agenda. And if your life is rocking and rolling at this time, wait and see what's happening on the world's stage.
At different periods of the month Venus and the sun will both occupy the area of self-worth, bringing some welcome bonuses of the financial, professional or personal variety. December is also a premium month to set in stone new financial arrangements. Might I also suggest that you make a big change from your usual Christmas traditions and put in some sensible limits on the present-buying and the general festive outlay - by the mid-to-latter part of January an unexpected financial demand could see you scurrying from pillar to post to find funds.
Relationships may be subject to some sharp extremes in December - the good get fantastic and the bad, well, invest in several boxes of Kleenex! The full moon of the 15th is both the perfect time to tie the knot and to unravel one. And as a general rule of thumb, be patient and understanding with colleagues, business partners and spouses at this time, since there is a trend for final statements and irrevocable moves.
The year ends on a Mercury-Pluto conjunction - and if ever there was an aspect that represented an ending and a beginning it is this one. Some profound exchanges and understandings will surely be made in many Sagittarian households at this time.
1st January 2006 - 31st January 2006 Money, money, money... As if you need me to tell you that this month is all about making money, resolving financial worries and creating the foundations for future growth. OK, that's the theory. In practice you may find yourself scurrying to borrow from 'Peter' to pay 'Paul' and negotiating one financial pothole only to find another one in its place. The first half of the month looks to be the easiest so if you already know you have a looming problem - and not necessarily to do with finance - my advice is to deal with it before the 14th.
The weekend of the 14th sees a full moon and a Mars-Jupiter opposition - the former on the financial axis of your solar chart and the second in the area of work and well-being. While this weekend could be one when you enjoy the fruits of your labours by spending lavishly in the sales or celebrating a happy event with friends and family, there is a chance that simmering hostilities will erupt into a full-blown volcano. (You have to watch Jupiter - ticker tape one minute, fiery thunderbolts the next.) This weekend could bring all those aforementioned issues about money to a head: this may manifest as a small cash-flow problem, perhaps due to the Christmas extravaganza, but in some cases a situation that has been under discussion for some time, maybe with a financial organization or a business associate, could be settled - happily for some, completely the opposite for others. You may also find that the workplace is a setting for some exciting news, and should you have any grand designs on the back burner, this is the time to bring them to the fore.
On the 20th the sun moves into the area of travel and communications, encouraging you to spread your influence far and wide. Just how much the sun-Mercury-Saturn set-up of the 27th will help in your onward and upward progress rather depends. Saturn adds flesh to the bones of ideas and loosely formed situations so the week of the 23rd would be an ideal time to make legally binding agreements and to make a long-term commitment, however, travel could have its little problems and should there be a weakness at the base of an association or endeavour, Saturn will surely revel it.
You can accomplish much in January, but you will need dollops of self-discipline and a degree of emotional detachment.
1st February 2006 - 28th February 2006 February comes in on a distinctly Neptunian note which carries through until the 13th - and if you've no idea what Neptune represents, run through some of this planet's keywords - mystery, deception, misunderstanding and, on the up side, divinity, compassion and sensitivity. So, if you're on a mission to help, heal and save, you've got all the planetary ammunition you need but if you're looking for facts, solid answers and straightforward situations, forget it - at least until the 14th.
For much of the month, the sun and Mercury will be transiting the area of travel and communications, so if you're clutching a ticket to foreign parts or looking at a string of meetings in your diary, you know you're in tune with your stars. However, your ideas of where you're going and what you'll meet when you get there could prove very different from the reality. Other people may not mean to let you down, but somehow they do, and along the way others could misinterpret your motives. The answer is to be as thorough as possible with your plans and to keep a constant check on arrangements.
Valentine's Day arrives on a Mercury-Uranus conjunction and in the wake of a full moon - a recipe for a surprise ending and beginning if ever I saw one. While you may want to give your beloved an unexpected gift, just leave some room for the reaction - it may not be what you think. And vice versa, your partner could take your breath away. Especially if you have a birthday on or near 1st December Uranus is on a mission to liberate you and your ideas, and this mid-February period is ripe for deliverances of one sort or another.
On the 17th, Mars zips into the zone of love and relating all set for a six-week transit in which your love life could spring into action and you'll be dealing with people who are a force to be reckoned with. Mars may well reveal an opponent, but no matter how irritating this may be you would be better not fighting fire with fire, especially during the last week of February and for much of March.
The reason why the last week of the month is sporting an amber light is the approach of a Mercury-Pluto square (exact on the 28th) which is amplified by a new moon. While new starts are typified by this combination, bringing the new into being may well prove tough, even a tad painful. And especially if you have a mid-December birthday, don't burn your bridges unless you have a speedboat!
1st March 2006 - 31st March 2006 March is a pivotal month for the whole zodiac: it begins with a volatile sun-Uranus conjunction and ends on a total solar eclipse in Aries, and in between there are tough connections to Saturn and Pluto, not to mention a retrograde Mercury. Clearly, the next six to eight weeks are going to produce some powerful events on the world's stage, and we can expect to see some leadership changes, a reshuffle or two in the corridors of power, even a natural or not-so-natural disaster. And where travel and communications are concerned, we can forget about getting anywhere in a hurry and a straight line. Of course, tough alignments produce wonderful events too so don't rule out announcements of marriage in royal/celebrity circles and a major scientific or medical break-through.
Early December birthdays will be most affected by this meeting of the sun and Uranus at the very beginning of March. Early December was when you last felt the effects of this dynamic duo, so take heart from the fact that you have survived the buffets and blows of fortune so far and will no doubt go from strength to strength as Uranus tweaks all those areas of your life which need re-arranging. Since the sun is now situated firmly in the home zone it's worth knowing that Uranus can bring sudden surges of energy, so if you have any loose wires or dodgy electrical connections make sure you get a professional in to check them out rather than trying to sort it yourself. Then, of course, those surges of energy can bring great new ideas into being, even great new romances...
The lunar eclipse of the 14th falls in the area of ambitions and career, and with its theme of closure and completion, it may signal the end of a work project or the reaching of a much-desired goal. The trouble with this eclipse is that it is not alone - Pluto is close at hand, thus amplifying the good and the bad, and certainly adding to the drama and the dynamism of this period of the year. Especially if you have a mid-December birthday, do your best to remain centred and not to throw the baby out with the bathwater!
The solar eclipse of the 29th influences the creative side of life, and will inspire different responses in different Sagittarians - for some, the entrepreneurial spirit will take flight, leading to major new business projects, for others, the need for pleasure and recreation could send you off to your travel agent, and for a few, beginning or adding to your family could suddenly seem the most important thing in the world. Consider too, that both eclipses form part of a cycle, so decisions made this month could have their denouement in September. An opportunity, perhaps, for the impatient Archer to take a long-term view.
1st April 2006 - 30th April 2006 Whatever the real weather might be doing, the sun is out in April. Actually, the sun is moving through your chart area of fun, creativity and pleasure so at last you have an opportunity or two to let your hair down. This is an extremely fertile few weeks, whether you are looking at the seeding of new ventures, the beginning of a new romance or, quite literally, the start of new life. You seem to have got back your joie-de-vivre, whether spontaneously or because of the happy events set to come.
Not that April is fun on sticks each and every day. The week of the 3rd finds Mars and Pluto in opposition, thus upping the potential for conflict and certainly confrontation. We will surely see some impressive results of escalating tension in the Middle East prior to Easter, and the Bush administration will have to be very careful how it plays events in the early to mid part of this month. While in the Christian World Easter is a time of celebration, for many other creeds it is simply business as usual. This opposition flanks the relationship axis, repeating some earlier alignments of February and March, thus there could be a return of some aggro related to one specific endeavour, or you may find that a bone of contention between you and your partner/close associate could rear its head once more. My advice would be to pussyfoot around situations at this time - when Mars is in your seventh house your opponent is often bigger and better than you. Put some distance between you and the issues - later in the year you will be in the driver's seat so to speak.
Between the 6th April and 3rd May Venus highlights the zone of home and family. This planet breeds harmony and happiness, and she also inspires make-overs of one sort or another. Aside from April being the month to redecorate, refurbish and generally sparkle up the home, much good work can be done to repair battered family relations. The Venus-Uranus conjunction of the 18th will require delicacy and patience, however. A surprise may not go down too well and a small grievance could become super-sized, so do your best to gain your perspective and avoid hurling missiles of the china and glass variety. The Venus-Pluto aspect of the 30th represents another warning light: while this is a very sexy combination, should you not have an outlet for your passion you may end up overreacting to a situation, in some cases leading to the end of a beautiful friendship. Keep those patience pills to hand.
1st May 2006 - 31st May 2006 Each May the sun transits your solar zone of work and well-being making this month a premium one for getting you and your life in shape. At first this might not seem the most welcome prospect but once May gets rolling and you start actively sorting, sifting, nipping and tucking the virtue of a well ordered life should soon become apparent! On the whole, May is a pretty good month for the celestial Archer, not least because lovely Venus will be in your fellow fire sign, Aries, and highlighting the pleasure centre of your horoscope. You should find plenty of opportunities to express your creativity and to enjoy life, whether with your loved ones - especially the younger generation - or friends and colleagues. Given that you have had many problems and upsets to deal with since the year began, your natural exuberance has been somewhat dimmed, but during May you should get back your joie-de-vivre and your ability to bring new and exciting projects into being. As for health, should you have been putting up with a minor problem or worry, now is the moment to sort it with the professionals, and if your energy has been low and your weight not quite as you would wish, you have the equivalent of a planetary tail-wind to set matters to rights. This is also an excellent month in which to take time-out, whether in the way of your annual two-week vacation or a series of weekend mini-breaks.
Another fascinating feature of May is the presence of a Grand Cross - an alignment of four or more planets, made up of squares and oppositions, which is in play between the 4th and 15th. Without becoming too technical, when planets are in this tense alignment, they bring all manner of issues to crunch point, and there is a feeling of having reached a giant cross-roads. While this configuration will certainly present itself in the form of moral and political crises for world leaders, in our own lives we too must make some wise decisions in a confusing and pressurized climate. Your crossroads may well appear in relation to work and long-term plans. Although it may seem as if you have been denied an opportunity or given too many options - none of them ideal - the choice you should make is a practical one. Lessons are having to be learned, and they may centre of the acquisition of patience and living within your boundaries. June will see Uranus and Pluto back in the picture, giving you plenty of opportunities for liberation.
On the 19th, Mercury heads into the area of love and relating, followed on the 21st by the sun. This marks the beginning of an eight-week period in which other people in general and partners in particular play a key part in what happens to you. Weddings and engagements could figure on your agenda, and you may also be asked to mediate in a working or personal matter. During the last week of the month, a combination of a new moon, Pluto and Uranus could make for some welcome changes, and new associations and ventures embarked upon at this time should be rewarding and certainly life-expanding.
I am sorry this forecast was delayed. The original sending was lost and both my webmaster and I have been in transit over the last 3 days. We have now added better facilities for updating forecasts.
1st June 2006 - 30th June 2006 No man is an island, eh? Well you're about to have a crash course on the art of relating, and in the process you'll discover whether you have a frog, a turkey or a golden goose as a partner! This is one of those months when situations reach crunch point, and with the sun in the zone of partnership, your life is subject to events in other people's lives, and it's your turn to listen, learn and compromise. What you do not want to do is to try to steam-roller your way through, because on this occasion you'll be the one sustaining the bruises.
This month puts Uranus and Pluto centre stage, and since many countries have major events planned for June, these alignments underscore the importance and celebratory nature of national occasions, yet they will surely produce some shocks and tremors too. On the 3rd, Mars enters the regal sign of Leo for a six-week transit and on the 18th this assertive planet hooks up to heavy-metal, Saturn - and at the same time as the sun-Pluto opposition. Mid-month, therefore, will be a time to watch for international dramas and the push-comes-to-shove syndrome. This conjunction falls on President Bush's Mercury-Pluto-Ascendant combo, and Tony Blair's South Node, so neither of them is in great shape in June, and there could be some serious threats to their tenures as leaders (as if there haven't been enough already).
In your case, first Mercury, then the sun opposes Pluto, thereby thrusting a relationship into the spotlight and bringing out the best and worst in you and your nearest and dearest. Especially if you have a mid-December birthday, 2006 is a year of great change and transformation, much of it inspired by partners and associates, and mid-June is another of those make or break times for relationships. The full moon on the 11th is the only one this year in your sign, so your emotions will be running at full tilt during that weekend - great if you're over-the-moon happy but a bit of a disaster should anyone or anything go wrong. Whether you are closing a chapter or opening another in June, there is an element of fate about events - all the more reason therefore not to let your emotions pitchfork you into actions that you might come to regret. The aforementioned Mars-Saturn conjunction takes place in the sector of far horizons, so this could benefit you tremendously - you may be able to reach a satisfactory agreement with a company, and things of a foreign or long-term nature will add to your stature, and certainly your bank of knowledge and experience.
From the 21st life becomes less fraught and with Venus entering the relationship zone (24th) it could be a case of peace following the storm and love triumphing over hostilities.
1st July 2006 - 31st July 2006 After the planetary heat of June, July’s influences have much to recommend them. Even with Mercury in retrograde between the 4th and 29th, there are many benign alignments, and in tandem, national and international affairs may be more fruitful than fraught. However, the Grand Cross in fixed signs will be loosely in place, so it may seem as if more than one situation is refusing to budge, and there will be very little give when it comes to matters of law and enforcement. Many of the world’s leading figures, including Tony Blair, George Bush, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip have relentless Saturn and nebulous Neptune on key planets and points in their natal charts, and it remains a mystery to me as to why the gathering gloom has not yet resulted in a truly serous crisis, although leaked information from the enquiry into the death of Princess Diana must be sending seismic waves through Britain's corridors of power. With this in mind, events on or near the Mars-Neptune opposition of the 5th and the full moon in Capricorn of the 11th could precipitate a minor tsunami...Pluto also puts in a double appearance on the 14th so the first half of July looks to be the most scandal ridden and generally explosive.
The good news for you this month is that your ruler, Jupiter resumes direct motion on the 6th which means that you will begin to feel you’re getting somewhere at last. An Archer who cannot move forward in life is an unhappy creature and, since Jupiter is currently residing in your most spiritual zone the journey you are now undertaking is more concerned with personal growth than physical progress. After several weeks of treading water you will now begin to feel that the tide is with you - not only that, there will be more joy and fun in life all round.
As for your love life...let me just say that you may be in for some exciting surprises as the sun brings more energy and vigour to the zone of intimacy. Mid-month will not be without its dramas on the relationship front, but if you do have a passionate outburst, making up will be fantastic - Venus follows in the footsteps of the sun, soothing any troubled waters with all her seductive charms. Your sex life could also benefit from the presence of Venus here and, with Mercury retrograde for most of the month, you might be better off communicating your feelings physically and psychically as opposed to relying on intellectual ways and means. (Unless you’re communicating with the bank manager that is!) Joint investments are also favoured under these stars, but best wait until the very end of the month when Mercury goes direct before signing contracts of any kind.
1st August 2006 - 31st August 2006 You should be in your element this month as the astrological emphasis is placed firmly in the zone of foreign travel, higher education and philosophy... the very stuff of life for Sagittarius. In the Northern hemisphere this is the holiday season, a time when you might naturally depart for foreign shores, but down South, expanding your life horizons could take other shapes and forms. Some Sagittarians could give serious thought to taking up new courses of study, or surfing the internet for information while others may seek to widen their circle of friends and business connections. This year has been hard going for many, but especially those who have been under Pluto (the mid-December birthdays), and although events may have inspired something of a spiritual journey, which has made you lighter in the divine sense, you could have lost your joie-de-vivre. This state of affairs is due to be rectified towards the end of the year when your ruler, Jupiter, enters Sagittarius and returns to its natural home in the zodiac. In the meantime, the emphasis of planetary activity in the sign of Leo is a hint of good things to come.
Nonetheless, August is tough on the whole zodiac, largely because of the developing Saturn-Neptune opposition. I have written a separate piece on the Saturn-Neptune opposition, which becomes exact on the 31st of this month, so you'll have plenty of food for thought should you find yourself wondering why you're making little progress and running into troughs of low pressure at inappropriate intervals. August is always a strange (and often uneventful) month in politics, but given mid-July sparked another major conflict in the Middle East, under these relentless influences we can expect an intensifying of hostilities - not just in Lebanon - and very little progress on the diplomatic front. I'd like to believe that the Jupiter-Uranus trine, which is both ebullient and barrier-breaking, will provide a balance for this depressing opposition but we will have to wait until the very end of the month before we see what rabbits these two can pull out of the hat. The usual suspects - that's President Bush, and Prime Minister Blair - face a dark and difficult summer break, although with the world in such crisis, their individual careers and reputations pale into insignificance.
Since this Saturn-Neptune opposition straddles your chart axis of communications, August could turn out to have more than its share of important documents for you to deal with, and legal issues and meetings that will affect your long-term future. Travel too is likely to be a source of enlightenment, so don't leave home without your cell-phone, your address book and a map - and it won't harm to have photo-copied all your most vital documents either. There appears to be a strong element of fate and karma about August's events, so even the most out of the blue development will have its origins in a past action. All the more reason, therefore, to think long and hard before tearing a strip off someone who may be working for you or someone you might need on your side in the future. The plus factor about Saturn and Neptune is that a long-held wish can be realized and there will be some wiggle room in the most deadlocked situation. Certainly, the aforementioned Jupiter-Uranus trine of the 29th could unlock a door and provide you with a liberating opportunity.
The new moon of the 23rd indicates a fresh start in your career. This may be a complete change of occupation, or possibly a promotion within your present employment. Some ten days prior to the new moon, a Mars-Uranus opposition could inspire a dramatic clash of wills with someone close over your chosen career path, however, Pluto is giving you the courage and willpower to make the changes you know are needed.
As far as your love life is concerned you may be making some kind of commitment at the tail end of the month. This could be linked to a long distance relationship...one of you may be living abroad...or you may be tying the knot with someone from another culture. And although August might not be everyone's cup of tea, that theme of widening horizons has to be a welcome one for you.
1st September 2006 - 30th September 2006 It is at this time of year that the sun positions itself at the zenith of your solar horoscope, therefore ambitions and life-direction are thrust into prominence. While the typical Sagittarian is never a ruthlessly ambitious sort, under these stars you should be able to find the focus you need to get ahead career-wise and/or to set yourself on a firmer course regarding a primary life goal. And, with advantageous Venus in this area, you can impress people in high places, and use the power of love to get you where you want to go.
September, like August, is a big month in astrological terms. The Saturn-Neptune opposition is still dominating the heavens (and, if you need to gen up on this transit, please go to the article dedicated to it on the website...CLICK HERE) so we are still trying to get to grips with reality and watching some very weird situations unfold out there on the world's stage. There are two eclipses to take into account - neither of them total eclipses but nonetheless they can still pack a powerful punch. The first - a lunar eclipse in Pisces - appears on the 7th, and harks back to March in terms of eclipses and events, and the second, on the 22nd, is a solar eclipse in Virgo. Eclipses set in motion events that shape the destiny of nations, and also our own lives, should they fall on key planets and points in our charts, so anything that emerges on or around the time of an eclipse must be taken seriously. The period of the 11th - 17th looks to be the most impressive: transformational Pluto is centre stage, so we can expect some dramatic entrances and exits on the political scene and a rattling of sabres from the usual suspects. The sun's entry into Libra on the 23rd, followed by Venus on the 30th, heralds the beginning of a calmer period, and certainly one in which dialogue and debate pave the way for peace and concord.
The two eclipses fall on the axis of life-direction, so at the very least you may have reason to examine the balance between the demands of your job and those of the home and family, but for some Sagittarians the time has come to make a huge change on either or both these fronts. Adding to the complexity of matters is Pluto, which stands at the intersection, so to speak, of the lunar eclipse of the 7th. Pluto enables you to eliminate the dead wood, and to trim your sails, thus, in an ideal world, you would get behind your own streamlining operation, however, we human beings tend to be a bit lazy about this kind of stuff, so it may be that events do the work for you - an unexpected end to a job or commitment, for instance, or an out of the blue reason to move or make alterations to the home.
On balance, September is a challenging month - I know you've heard it before - but events are not without purpose, and once you adapt to a new regime and leave the upheaval behind, you will soon appreciate the upside. The weekend of the 23rd has much to offer in the way of divine moments and passionate exchanges, and it may take until that time for you to fully understand why this is such an important month, and why certain events simply had to happen.
1st October 2006 - 31st October 2006 At last you appear to have been given some time off for good behaviour. October produces opportunities for you to enjoy life, especially with friends and like-minded individuals, and the climate is right for beginning new personal endeavours and professional projects. Hopefully, you will find time to get away from the rat race, if only for a long weekend, and, by shifting the focus at work from what you gain in terms of money and position to what a job offers you in the way of a true reflection of your abilities, you may reach some important understandings in October.
With the challenges of August and September behind us we can all look forward to better times in October. Until the 23rd there are almost no hard angles to the senior planets (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) to hamper us, which means global hostilities should lessen and the climate will be suitable for discussion, debate, new peace agreements and generally more co-operation between nations and leaders. Of course, having put my pen where my astrological judgement is it wouldn't surprise me to find that a simmering hot spot boils over and that there are further terrorist outrages. However it is unlikely...by the 22nd this little patch of perfection will be over: the sun, Mars and Venus head into Scorpio, Mercury is squared by Saturn(23rd) and Mercury turns retrograde (28th), all of which is likely to create a more intense atmosphere, and we may see some reversals of decisions, and certainly far less progress made in war-torn areas.
The 23rd also marks the date the sun enters the low key twelfth house, and with Venus and Mars following in its footsteps you are beginning that all-important period of the year when you need to recharge your physical, emotional and spiritual batteries. Rather more pertinently, this date may indicate the beginning of a time of doubt and uncertainty: people and situations may be difficult to read and you could feel less in control of your destiny. My advice is to keep your schedule as light as possible and to refrain from being pro-active - you're a better receptor than you are an initiator during this period. Also you should bear in mind that between late October and late November plenty of water is to flow under that proverbial bridge.
1st November 2006 - 30th November 2006 The month opens with a cluster of planets in the subterranean twelfth house of your solar chart, so you will be entirely justified in feeling less than your bubbly self, even somewhat dispirited. If you want to put these influences to good use, however, you can place health at the top of your must-do list, attending to ailments that you hoped might have cleared up by themselves and increasing energy and fitness levels by diet and exercise. The full moon of the 5th may expose your weakest links, and should you have any choice in the matter, this would be an ideal weekend upon which to retreat from the rat race and certainly to cut down on social commitments and heavy-duty activity. Spiritually speaking the period until the 22nd is premium: the voice of your unconscious is speaking to you through dreams and intuitions, and by taking the time to meditate or practice yoga you will not only find peace of mind but solutions to some of life's little problems.
The main news of the month, however, is the arrival of Jupiter, your ruler, in your sign. Jupiter will move through Sagittarius until December 2007, so you have a little over twelve months to launch your biggest and bravest plans. This transit earmarks a time of plenty, a period of expansion and success, and while each and every day might not bring happiness, when you look back on this year-long period you will see it as fertile and pioneering. This month, the November Archers are the most likely to receive evidence of success, and the period on or near the 21st is brilliant for the start of new ventures and births of all kinds. And, whenever your birthday, what comes to you in the way of ideas, gifts and people should be welcomed with open arms - they will change your life for the better.
In general terms, Jupiter's passage through Sagittarius will hopefully inspire humanity to take some impressive leaps of faith and encourage us all to follow the spirit of religion as opposed to the dogma. During the latter part of November we may see magnanimous gestures on the part of leaders and governments or an aggressive show of power. Jupiter does not have the astrological stage to itself, however, and as if to remind us that the best things in life have to be earned and that all actions have consequences, Saturn makes regular appearances. Also, since Neptune is still in opposition to Saturn, especially around the 8th, 17th and 29th we will need to read between the lines when it comes to statements of national and international importance: the distance between reality and fabrication may never have been greater. And while such influences would not be out of place with an announcement of a withdrawal of troops from Iraq, and a subsequent aura of failure and defeat hovering over the Bush administration - their chances of keeping the Senate Republican are slim - we may also be looking at a severe loss of face inspired by leaks and betrayal for Tony Blair upon whose Mid-heaven Neptune will be sitting.
The Saturn-Neptune opposition has been responsible for making you doubt yourself and it has caused situations to swing from one extreme to the other. This trend may be particularly marked around the aforementioned dates, and while you should not ignore a glaring error or assume that no news is good news, there is no need to over-dramatize minor problems. You should not force things in the early to mid part of November, but treat difficulties with pragmatism and the knowledge that to every problem there is a solution. And with Jupiter entering Sagittarius those solutions will come sooner than later.
1st December 2006 - 31st December 2006 Birthday month and the planets are out in force to make sure it's a memorable one. While the majority of celestial Archers will reflect these intense influences by working themselves to the bone before Christmas and partying like a trooper throughout a few will experience a life-defining moment. Aspects to Uranus (3rd, 15th , 22nd and 25th) and Pluto (8th, 18th and 25th) generate an electric and unstable climate. On the one hand, you can bring an exciting flavour to events and make sensational progress at work or with a close relationship; on the other hand, if you have been giving a situation time to marinate these aspects ensure that it is ready for the tasting, and in some cases it may prove very hard to digest. Those with birthdays on or around the 3rd or 18th have the most to win or lose from these influences and if you're prepared for a complete change of life then here it is with knobs on.
Mars in your sign gives you the energy and drive necessary to get things done and to deal with those things that demand leadership and decisiveness. Mars hooks up to Jupiter on the 11th so around that date you may experience a lucky streak or you will have no self-discipline whatsoever, resulting in an over-used credit card and a post-extravaganza guilt trip. Other people may produce offers you cannot resist and/or you could decide on a last-moment trip. This Mars-Jupiter conjunction is the perfect expression of that rather overused epithet, fortune favours the brave.
Self-discipline may also be in short supply regarding love and relationships. Do your best to think of the consequences of your actions, especially when Uranus and Pluto are at their most active, and also at the time of the full moon (4th/5th). If you have reached the end of the line with a loved one, perhaps a hard and fast decision should be made in the New Year rather than in the heat of the moment; likewise, if you feel compelled to jump into a new relationship, make sure that the person is who he or she claims to be.
Each year at this time the sun squares Uranus and conjoins Pluto and often there are other alignments which add to this powerful mix, resulting in upheavals of a personal and global nature. Take the tsunami of 2004, for instance, which began as the moon clipped the degree of the sun-Pluto conjunction just prior to becoming full. Between the 1st and 22nd of December there will be no less than five planets in the sign of Sagittarius, so there is a concentration of 'energy' in one area of the cosmos: in a natal chart this often manifests as an individual who is a specialist, one who is very focused, and in terms of events there can be a last-straw effect to be observed. Put another way, people reach the end of their tethers and take extreme measures to prove their point. The period from the 15th to the 23rd is potentially the most explosive and we may see a lot of sabres being rattled by world leaders and another terror alert that interferes with our travel and our peace of mind. The year closes with war lord, Mars, and Master of Mystery, Neptune, in harmony, which is perfect for a champagne entry into 2007 but also a compassionate end to a year that has been full of strife and conflict.
1st January 2007 - 31st January 2007 Compared to December January's stars are a dream. Venus spends most of the month in Aquarius generally sweetening life for members of this sign and helping those of the opposite sign (Leo) find and celebrate love. The full moon of the 3rd is in Cancer and, like all full moons helps us close a chapter and begin a new one - something we tend to do anyway at the start of a new year, although of course, for Cancerians, this process is profoundly more marked. The Mars - Pluto conjunction of the 13th is the last in a series of aspects between the personal planets and Pluto, so events mid-month may well have a connection between those of the 8th-25th December. (Here in Great Britain the enquiry into the death of Princess Diana confirmed that it was an accident - not a white-wash surely? And on the same day (14th December) Prime Minister Tony Blair was questioned by police in the cash for honours enquiry - not an attempt to bury bad news, surely? - and in keeping with Pluto's principles of dark deeds, a nationwide police hunt began for serial killer of five young prostitutes, which resulted in an arrest just before Christmas.) On January 16th Mars enters Capricorn for a six-week transit - OK Cappies, it's time to get moving and motoring! And on the 20th the sun arrives in Aquarius. These last ten days of January present a complex and certainly variety-packed picture. In a nutshell the theme is chickens coming home to roost (courtesy Saturn Lord of Karma) so if we've spent too much money over Christmas we'll be paying the price at this time, and, in general, both on the world's stage and in our own lives we'll be looking at the cost of actions taken some time ago.
With the sun in your solar house of finances and self-worth there's work to be done setting monetary wrongs to rights. You can make more money, spend it like crazy or put together solid structures for future solvency. It's your choice. The Mars-Pluto conjunction of the 13th is particularly effective for the 16th-19th December birthdays; in some cases what could not be dealt with in December can be resolved at this time, and that push-comes-to-shove feeling will be much in evidence. Do your best not to let your temper or your emotions get the better of you mid-month or you could end up without something or someone you have come to rely upon; on the other hand, if you want sweeping change, here it comes with knobs on. Saturn is in a position to help you make good long term moves, so the last ten days of the month, which will be difficult for so many of the zodiac signs, could prove very productive and rewarding for you. All right, you may not achieve what you want overnight but with patience and effort you'll definitely get there.
1st February 2007 - 28th February 2007 With a full moon opening to February the theme of endings and beginnings is clearly stamped on our astrology. The moon is in Leo so members of this sign and those of Aquarius are in the front row when it comes to bringing to a close anything that has outlived its usefulness. Relationships for these two signs in particular appear to be at a crossroads, and with Valentine's Day coming in between a sun-Saturn opposition (10th) and a Venus Pluto square (20th), the scent of final straws is in the air! This is far from a light and frothy month, primarily due to the applying Saturn-Neptune opposition. (And if you want to know more about this important transit, please click on the article relating to it on the home page.) This opposition is exact on the 28th, and from the middle of February onwards we can expect to see events out on the world's stage reflecting its theme of sacrifice and redemption on the one hand, and the erosion of established structures on the other. Among those for whom the Saturn-Neptune bell tolls are: Fidel Castro (sun: 20 Aquarius), Tony Blair (Pluto: 20 Leo), George W. (Venus: 21 Leo) and Queen Elizabeth (Mars: 20 Aquarius and Neptune: 22 Leo).
Although other signs might not be enjoying the best of times, Sagittarius is somewhat immune from the most stressful aspects with the happy presence of Jupiter in your sign. If there are any clouds on your horizon, they are more likely to have silver linings. This month you could be the recipient of romantic messages (especially around Valentine's day) or surprise deliveries to your home. Nonetheless, those of you with birthdays on or near the 7th and 18th December will need to be careful about jumping in or out of a relationship - the sabotage button will be easily depressed this month. Planets Uranus and Pluto are responsible for any sudden changes of heart or decisions to leave behind an old way of life and although you tend to thrive on adventure, and the lure of distant horizons is usually irresistible, you could be more cautious and prone to regrets under the umbrella of Saturn and Neptune. Especially towards the end of the month play things according to the rule book and should you be planning some important events for March be sure you have all your ducks in a row by the 28th.
1st April 2007 - 30th April 2007 The sun passes through your pleasure zone this month, bringing more joy and fun your way - at least, that's the theory; in practice you may find that despite your best attempts to keep everyone happy and your earnest efforts to invest working, social and family projects with enthusiasm other people are less than co-operative. You can lay the blame for any derailment of plans and any sense of humour failure on Uranus - a planet that is centre stage at the start of the month and during the last week. On the plus side, the green light is on for house moves and changes of location but on the downside, the home itself could be the source of unexpected expenditure. And, if work on the house is already scheduled, the inconvenience caused by workmen - and the rest - could be the very reason for April's stormy weather.
On the 6th Jupiter, your ruler, turns retrograde and will remain so until August. Jupiter is a benevolent, expansive planet encouraging us to explore and move forward in life. Thus, while this planet heads backwards in your sign you may feel less outgoing and responsibilities and mundane matters could interfere with your preferred peripatetic lifestyle. In direct conflict with this trend Saturn in the zone of travel and all things of a lofty and far-ranging nature resumes direct motion on the 19th. Quite how you resolve this dilemma rather depends but you'll probably find that if you do travel your thoughts will be dwelling on matters close to home, and if you stay put you'll be straining at the leash, so to speak. Of course, Sagittarians are noted for their exploratory minds too, so there may be a simple solution here - use the magic carpet of your mind to transport you where you wish to go!
The two Grand Trines which are in play for almost the entire month will, at the very least, buffer the effect of any Uranian tempests but at best your creative juices will be flowing like the Ganges. This may translate as additions to the family or fresh outlets for your talents, but since Venus will be transiting the zone of love and relating from the 12th onwards there could be an unexpected surge of romance. Even a long-established liaison could suddenly regain its former glory. And should you wish to take advantage of this romantic trend, the weekend of the 21st is perfect for a romantic get-away or the making/remaking of vows.
1st March 2007 - 31st March 2007 What can you say about a month that has two eclipses in it, the first of which is not only a total lunar but conjunct/opposition lively Uranus, and the second, a partial solar, which squares Pluto? I'd say it's one of those periods in which matters that have been rumbling underground for some while erupt with the force of a minor volcano! March is a very cleansing month: think de-tox and de-clutter, whether in terms of our homes and our offices or in regard to our opinions and belief systems. The periods around the eclipses (3rd and 19th) are the most dynamic or disruptive, depending on your perspective, and the final ten days with its heavy concentration of Saturn are the most hard work. Could we have an announcement about a forthcoming wedding for Prince William and Kate Middleton? Very possibly. And will events in the Middle East be the cause of even greater consternation? Almost certainly.
There may be some surprises on the home and family front for you as the sun-Uranus conjunction of the 5th occurs at the base of your solar chart. A parent or child could be at the centre of a sudden change of circumstances - maybe deciding to up sticks and move or causing controversy in other ways. Uranus always has an unsettling effect, even in the best of circumstances, largely because of the element of surprise it employs. What we are expecting to happen doesn't and vice versa. You have been feeling the effects of Uranus in your home life for some months now, especially if you have a 6th-8th December birthday, and this month could see you responding to Uranus' call for change by redecorating your home, abandoning one way of life for another or moving house altogether.
The period between the 8th and 17th looks to be something of an oasis. Yes, you could simply enjoy what life has to offer but you might also use these bright stars to get a whole lot further with your ambitions and desires. Strike while the iron is hot so to speak.
The solar eclipse of the 19th ha similar properties to that of the 2nd/3rd , only this eclipse will be focusing primarily on those with birthdays between the 16th and 20th of December. While you must avoid making too much of minor issue at this time, if you are ready to move out and move on have the courage and conviction to so so. With Jupiter continuing its transit of your sign you are undergoing a very positive period of expansion and development this year, so if Uranus, Pluto, Saturn and the eclipses do throw a spanner in the works, it will all prove grist to your mill.
1st May 2007 - 31st May 2007 The sun passes through your lifestyle zone this month, encouraging you to give serious thought to your day to day routine in the context of whether or not any or all of your activities are helping you lead the kind of life you want. Perhaps you are in a job that is not meeting your needs, or maybe you feel your job is preventing you from getting out into the wider world. Sometimes Sagittarius takes on too much, which not only exhausts you but prevents you from fulfilling your talents and your goals. Putting your health and fitness under the microscope would be appropriate too this month, and there'll be a tail wind behind you should you opt for any new dietary/exercise regimes or decide to rectify specific problems. The full moon of the 2nd is likely to bring all manner of simmering issues centring on the above to boiling point, but since emotions will be running high you should obey any instinct to withdraw and reflect before making an irrevocable move. It's not only revenge that is a dish best served cold...
In my general forecast I referred to the week of the 7th, which contains a kitchen-sink cocktail of challenging aspects. Venus, Mars and Pluto are putting the 17th-20th December birthdays to the test and while some Archers will be doing all and everything for someone they love, or an endeavour they feel passionate about, others will feel they have reached the end of the line with a personal or professional matter. Jupiter is of great benefit in your sign so many of the developments that have happened this year will prove very advantageous to you; with this in mind the Jupiter-Uranus link of the 11th could produce a wonderful surprise or breakthrough.
The second half of May is easier all round, so if you have an opportunity to take a break, do so. The only aspect likely to send a few ripples across your smooth pond of life is the Mercury-Pluto opposition of the 27th. On or near this time it will be possible to get to the heart of a matter, however, if you choose to confront someone make sure you are prepared for a formidable response, and certainly to hear the truth. Pluto has a way of unearthing secrets and exposing facts which you might prefer to leave buried,. Likewise if you are provoked you might find yourself saying something you would rather have kept to yourself.
1st June 2007 - 30th June 2007 The month gets off to a promising start with your ruler, Jupiter, trining Mars. This aspect will particularly favour those of you who are studying or who are planning a journey of any kind, and is also excellent for beginning a long-term project which will require enthusiasm and determination to see it through to the end. For most of June, however, the accent is on relationships and the way other people figure in your life. It may be the month some of you have chosen in which to marry or become engaged - and, if you've selected the weekend of the 2nd you have made a perfect choice. Likewise, someone may enter your life who promises to have a huge effect on your future.
As I mentioned in my general forecast, there is a theme of endings and beginnings to June, and, with the full moon of the 1st in your sign and all the key aspects to Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto homing in on Sagittarius, this theme of closure and fresh starts is echoing long and loud for you. The usual suspects - in this case those with birthdays on or near the 11th and 19th December - can expect a month in which crises loom and life-defining decisions need to be made. However, before you reach for the tranquillizers, remember that crises bring simmering issues to boiling point after which there is a sense of renewal. It may indeed be time to get out of a job that is going nowhere, or to end an association with someone who does not value you; and if a brilliant opportunity presents itself, do you really have any option other than to accept it even though it may involve considerable disruption for others? The periods around the 9th and 19th are the most exciting yet also the most unsettling.
On the 15th Mercury turns retrograde, and with a new moon on the same day, it may be that any new start demands you return over old ground first, or you face a delay before a situation can take off. Sagittarius is not renowned for its patience so do your best to deal with those things that and those people who suddenly develop teething troubles.
The last major aspect to make its presence felt is the Saturn Neptune opposition of the 25th which falls on your travel and communication axis. The effect of this transit may be to raise a question in your mind, "Should I stay or should I go?" You, of course, are an explorer, and nobody knows better than you that life is a journey thus, the answer is surely, the further you go - whether, physically, mentally, or spiritually - the better. Food for thought in what may turn out to be the most pivotal month of 2007.
1st July 2007 - 31st July 2007 The sun and new moon both highlight your zone of shared resources this month, so this would be a good time to review your financial situation and consider new investments. If you are seeking advice from experts, do so after the 10th when Mercury resumes direct motion. Before that date, mis-communications are possible and you may not receive the best possible advice.
If you feel your financial situation is under control, it may be that your personal life comes under the spotlight, thus some of you may be considering joining forces with another and making commitments, either of the business or romantic variety. The Venus-Saturn conjunction of the 1st occurs in your zone of distant horizons, so someone at a distance, or from another country or culture, may be in the picture here. Emotional commitments, however, often do affect finances too as people have to share living expenses etc. so there may well be practical considerations to take on board as well as the more romantic variety. The zone of shared resources also concerns intimacy and sexual relationships. When Mercury goes direct on the 10th, it would be a good time to discuss matters of this nature and to connect with someone on a deep level. Sagittarians are very good at the fun side of relationships but often feel very vulnerable when it comes to baring the soul. All too often the flight instinct takes over, but this month you can afford to take a chance and open your heart. The change this brings about may astound you!
1st August 2007 - 31st August 2007 In August Sagittarians' thoughts invariably turn to people and places far away. The ninth house of travel and long-range interests is in focus so if you're heading off for your annual 'hols', or welcoming into your home friends and relatives whom you rarely see, you'll be following your stars to the letter. Nonetheless, all those aspects to Saturn and Neptune throughout the month will complicate matters, whether your journeys take much longer than you'd expected (and turn out to be major learning curves) or because bureaucracy rears its ugly head transforming the simplest of endeavours into minefields of paperwork and red tape. You can turn these influences to your advantage, however, by devoting time and effort to long-term plans, especially those that require a legal stamp or authorization of any sort. You may also be able to reach a decision that you have been dithering about for some time.
Jupiter, your ruler, turns direct on the 7th so you may well find that a situation which has been in limbo for a while is galvanized into action and that you too are more capable of injecting energy and optimism into your affairs. The period up until Christmas should see one or more of your projects coming to fruition and there are gains to be made of the financial and philosophical variety. The 7th also turns out to be the day Mars zips into the zone of relating where it will remain for the following six weeks. One of the effects of this transit is that your sex life may get back its sparkle and you could receive far more attention from the opposite sex. The downside, however, invariably reveals itself in grumpy partners and an increase of people in your life who seem to be permanently on the war path. Do your best not to lose your cool - what cannot be cured must simply be endured!
The total lunar eclipse of the 28th falls in the area of home and family, and, like all full moons, it signals both an ending and a beginning. Whether fate steps in and brings about a change in your domestic circumstances or you are finally able to make a decision about a house move, you may sense that things will never be quite the same again. And in general events towards the end of August and the early part of September crystallize your feelings.
1st September 2007 - 30th September 2007 This month may turn out to be something of a watershed as the Archer clan aim their arrows in a new direction and fire! Saturn enters your career zone on the 2nd making you ready to commit to a new goal and giving you the impetus to work hard to achieve your ambitions. Saturn will spend roughly two years in this sector of your horoscope so now would be the moment to do some forward planning and to see if the position you are in at this juncture bears any relation whatsoever to where you want to be in two years or ten years time.
Uranus and Pluto are big players throughout the month, so if you have a birthday on or near the 10th or 19th December, you will need to cut down your commitments and expectations because the cosmos has some surprises up its sleeve. Certainly, if you have been trying to fuflil other people's needs and doing your best to cope with a situation that is far too much for you to handle alone, the periods of the 3rd, 11th and 19th could push you over the edge, so to speak. Yet these very dates are also times of breakthroughs and brilliant results. And although I have earmarked the above birthdays as the principle recipients of these dynamic aspects, all Sagittarians can expect to meet with some unusual and unexpected developments on or near the aforementioned times.
Friendships and collaborations are in the mainframe for much of the month: there could be invitations to foreign parts and people in far away places could be offering you opportunities to expand your talents and interests. There could even be a hint of romance with someone from a different country or a flirtation with a fellow traveller on a journey. However, given the power of the solar eclipse (11th) what may start out as an insignificant romp may turn out to be much, much more important.
1st October 2007 - 31st October 2007 Feeling sociable, ready to combine your talents with others and start a new project? If so, you are already responding to the
call of the sun's transit of the creative and collaborative eleventh house of your solar chart. This trend continues
throughout October, making it one of the best periods of 2007 to reconnect with old friends and to find that spirit of fellowship
in your personal and professional relationships. The cosmic joker is clearly up to his usual tricks though - on the 11th a new
moon heralds a new enterprise or association but the very next day Mercury turns retrograde putting the blocks on your progress
and sending you round and round in circles. As they say, what cannot be cured must be endured...
Saturn has just begun its journey through the tenth house of career and life-goals so unless you are a November-born
Archer it may be too soon to see what this planet can bring to your life in the way of consolidating your ambitions or helping you
see where your energies and expectations have been misplaced. Venus begins to tread the same turf as Saturn this month so this is
a time when people in a position to help and guide you will look favourably on you and your ideas. On or near the 14th when Venus
conjoins Saturn important career connections can be made, although in some cases a minor set-back may have to be overcome. On
the 25th Venus meets Uranus creating a flashpoint - if you're ready to branch out in new directions, this is the signal
you've been waiting for; on the other hand, if you'd rather things stayed the same, don't wave any red rags at raging
bulls! By contrast, the 29th is a great day to make a bold move where your career is concerned and you might just come up
smelling of roses.
The most important aspect for you this month is the Jupiter Uranus square of the 9th. Jupiter, your ruler, has been transiting
your sign all year and bringing opportunities and more joy and optimism into your life. The square to Uranus should bring a
sudden, unexpected change which will affect most strongly those of you born around the 9th December. This change may well affect
your home life…whether you suddenly feel much better than previously, or because an exciting development occurs chez vous.
A house move could be on the cards, for example, or you might make an important discovery connected with your family. Some signs
resist change, but you Archers welcome it with open arms because it takes you to new places, brings new people into your life and
reinforces your belief that life is a journey. Which, of course, it is.
1st November 2007 - 30th November 2007 It is during this time each year that the sun descends into the hermit-like twelfth house, and you in tandem, become uncharacteristically withdrawn and less optimistic about life. So, if you're reading this and feeling in a bit of a slump, rest assured - by the time the sun enters your sign (22nd) you will be on the road back to sanity and salvation! One of the pluses to the twelfth house is that it allows you to access the inner world and so discover truths locked in the unconscious; it also enables you to recharge your batteries – physical, emotional and spiritual – in preparation for the new cycle beginning on your birthday. Use the first three weeks of November purposefully - take more rest, for instance, pay greater attention to your dreams, even practice some yoga and mediation. The sun-Neptune square of the 12th may well release some secrets, plus your ability to visualize will be super-charged thereby helping you actualize your hopes and dreams.
Nonetheless, the more 'happening' part of the month is the second half, more specifically, the period between the 19th and 30th. On the weekend of the 24th, Uranus turns direct, Mercury squares Neptune and there is a full moon (on the relationship axis) so you may well find that a difficulty is resolved overnight or that a situation that has dragged on for many unsatisfactory moons ends. On the other hand, since full moons have a way of bringing situations full circle, this would also be an appropriate time to marry or commit yourself to a long-term project. Saturn echoes a similar theme on the 30th and, especially if you have a late November birthday, this is the right time to make a hard decision or to accept that some situations have to be lived with even if they are deeply flawed.
1st December 2007 - 31st December 2007 If you like thrills and spills you're going to love December. Many of the situations that have bubbled up over the past twelve months are due to be resolved and there will be some surprises, courtesy of Uranus and Pluto, along the way. Each week contains a major aspect, which your birthday chart will reflect, so you will be looking at a year-ahead that takes you into new territory - emotionally, professionally or quite literally.
Those of you with birthdays around the 7th are facing the most unexpected events - there is a theme of liberation playing with planet Uranus so an obstacle that has been in your path will be removed. However, whenever your birthday, on or near the 7th and 11th avoid making a shoot-from-the-hip statement because you will bring an abrupt end to a friendship or a commitment. And slips of the tongue aren't the only problem you may encounter so don't do anything in a panic or out of pique. The 11th is also significant because the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction is exact on that day, and this is nitroglycerine in a bottle. Great things can happen when these planets combine their gifts, so you could be looking at a wonderful offer or opportunity and certainly a chance to show what a star you can be. Make a big decision then and watch it change your prospects.
The week of the 10th is perhaps the most spectacular in terms of happy occasions or events that come out of the blue and sand-bag you, so if you have meetings booked then or you already know that a situation is in a delicate state, please take your diplomatic bag with you at all times. Those of you with birthdays on or near the 20th have been undergoing a slow process of transformation, which has meant that incidents from the past have been resurfacing and there have been situations beyond your control that have challenged you to grow. This trend reaches a peak in mid-to-late December, whether you finally make a decision that will alter the pattern of life or events give you no choice other than to effect a huge change.
On the 18th, Jupiter heads into the zone of finance and self-worth for a year-long transit, during which you will see your assets grow and if you don't make money with Jupiter here, don't blame your horoscope! Pluto and Jupiter have not been left behind for Christmas and the New Year so expect some powerful exchanges under the Christmas tree.
1st January 2008 - 31st January 2008 You start the year with Venus in your sign and your hopes high, in some cases for entirely romantic reasons. The area of money and self-esteem is in high focus too but while you may be feeling rich in spirit the content of your bank account may reveal an entirely different story. Fortunately, with Jupiter and ultimately Pluto in this same zone, you have the power and the opportunity to turn around a sad story and start to make serious money rather than spending it. And these thoughts you should keep to the forefront of your mind, especially during the first week and on or near the 24th - the reason being that there are some challenging aspects to deal with virtually as soon as we cross the threshold into 2008. One of the facets of this time of year is that real life has been put on hold since the 21st of December but by the end of the first week of January all those cooped up chickens come home to roost. The issues are going to vary from Sagittarian to Sagittarian but they will involve facing some painful truths and mapping out a new road ahead. Another point worth noting about the Mars-Pluto opposition of the 2nd is that it generates an aura of confrontation, which is very positive if you have eject yourself from the river of denial but not so good if you use it to unleash violent emotions on an undeserving object. So, please keep away from the kitchen and the knife block if you have an issue to bring up with your nearest and dearest.
So, romance... Venus always does her best to bring harmony to bear so you may find that marital wars soon blow over and that a new found interest in each other develops. This is also a premium period for attracting the opposite sex and putting a casual affair onto a more serious footing. The Venus-Saturn square of the 6th is all about making love legal and coming to terms with the reality as opposed to the fantasy of a relationship. However, a week later Venus squares up to Uranus causing romantic upsets and making many Sagittarians feel insecure about a relationship or some other commitment.
On the 28th Mercury goes into reverse thrust, stalling one or more of your plans and making the going very convoluted indeed. Do your best to tie up as many loose ends before that date, then be very precise with your information.
1st February 2008 - 29th February 2008 The month opens on a brilliant note with the lovely Venus in conjunction with glorious Jupiter. This is a sign of warm and wonderful
things to come and the blessings you have already in your life. For some Sagittarians, there is good news on the financial front and, even
though Mercury - the planet of transport, travel and negotiation - will be retrograding until the 19th , you can have confidence
in deals struck in the early part of the month, especially if they are linked to property, money and your status. The solar eclipse of the
7th falls in the zone of travel and dialogue and portends a journey of some significance: this may turn out to be entirely literal in
that you will be making a trip - perhaps somewhat unexpectedly - or it may imply that an experience takes you on a journey of
self-discovery. Valentine's Day puts the moon in the zone of relating so you may well receive a wonderful validation from someone
you love, and, with Saturn also in place, there could be a major decision made on this very day. The more important eclipse for you,
however, is the total lunar eclipse of the 21st. This brings to an end a chapter of life, especially if you are a November Sag, and urges
you to accept that in order for you to grow and fulfil your true potential some things, and, perhaps, some people, have to be set aside.
But as with all eclipses it's not so much what you put in motion as what the universe does.
1st March 2008 - 31st March 2008 You may be the travel-camel of the zodiac but things of a family and property nature dominate your
March stars. The new moon of the 7th is close to unpredictable Uranus so there could be some surprise
news ahead involving a member of the family or unexpected problems may develop with household
appliances. Uranus is synonymous with awakenings and while your eyes may be opened to the fact that
machines of one sort or another have built-in obsolescence, the more important message this planet
brings is that some of your ideas need waking up. It is good to make changes in March, whether these
concern your career, your base in life or your relationships and however change comes in - even if
it is initially unwanted - you will be the beneficiary of it. Finances are another key theme for the
month and should you have been playing ostrich with money matters you must get your head out of the sand
before the 7th. You can make huge gains in March, yet, if you haven't done your homework and you
have allowed other people too much rope, you could be implementing a major damage limitation exercise.
The last seven days of the month are particularly interesting, first and foremost in regard to money and
while you should not make a move without research or a safety net, a risk may be well worth taking at
this time.
1st April 2008 - 30th April 2008 You are your joyous self for much of April, thanks to the passage of the sun, Mercury and Venus through the zone of creativity and pleasure. You may be lucky enough to be taking some time out from work, you could be happily involved with the younger generation or you might be starting a new creative/business endeavour: whatever the case, you have needed a new lease on life for a while and you've got one. The first eight days of the month could leave you in some doubt as to the authenticity of this forecast but once Pluto has persuaded you to confront a financial bogey - or some other issue you've been stuffing under the carpet - all will be well. In fact, an harmonious Grand Trine will be presiding over the areas of life-direction, finance and work so April may well turn out to be the month that a job is confirmed or money matters start to improve. Indeed, I'm tempted to say that you don't need to push hard to achieve your objectives because much of what takes place is a result of efforts put in much, much earlier. Romance gets a look-in too and developments during the last ten days of April could find you dancing on air...
1st May 2008 - 31st May 2008 You're a broad brush-stroke kind of sign so the idea of dealing with things in detail and attending to bureaucratic matters may not be exactly appealing. However, you will be so grateful that you put your mind to such things this May. The structures you set in place now, whether in connection with your career, a relationship or your life-style, will prove highly worthwhile. This is also a premium period for looking after the health of mind, body and spirit so even if you haven't got a twinge, an ache or a pain, you'll benefit from a check-up and, at the very least, acquiring some healthier eating and exercise habits will do you a power of good. On the 9th, ruler, Jupiter, turns retrograde for a four-month period so this marks the beginning of a phase when economy is the name of the game: go back over old financial agreements with the intention of reducing payments and it may behove you to shelve plans for the sale or purchase of a property until later in the year. You should do well in financial terms in 2008 but this doesn't mean a policy of spend, spend, spend is the right one for now. And, if a project goes south, see it as an opportunity to diversify. As always, there are lessons in delays and derailments. On the 24th Venus heads into the relationship zone, all set to bring good people into your life.
1st June 2008 - 30th June 2008 June is all about other people - their lives, what happens to them and how it affects you. It is a month in which you're going to have to put your needs and wishes on one side and focus on those of others. For some Sagittarians a wedding is already in the planning; for others a proposal is imminent and for everyone the time has come to deal with all manner of relationship issues, whether this means finding the courage and the means to part or the will and skill to build an even stronger bond. And, if you're single and hoping, Venus is in just the right area of the horoscope to help you find someone, so get out there and flaunt your assets. The period between the 9th and 20th features powerful Uranus and Pluto aspects, so change and transformation once again become the name of the game. You may have to go back six months to trace the origin of events in mid-June and if you've been struggling to win a battle of any sort or bring something to fruition you may well succeed at this time. Nonetheless, keep as centred as you can during that eleven-day period; burning bridges is a dangerous business...
1st July 2008 - 31st July 2008 This is one of the big money months of 2008. It is the best time to discuss finances with banks and lending institutions, the right time to tackle monetary issues, especially those that involve a partner, and the perfect moment to make a large investment. Jupiter is in an excellent position throughout the year to help you make money and if you haven't seen any evidence of improvements yet, wait and see what these next four to five weeks produce in the way of break-throughs and windfalls. And even if these influences force you to take drastic action with finances - watch the period on or near the 10th - you will be setting the stage for better things to come. And much the same could be said about your love life. Core issues need to be tackled in July and once you connect with a partner at a profound level all aspects of your relationship will be transformed. And if you've just begun a romance, watch it deepen during July. On the 22nd, the sun heads into the far horizons sector of your horoscope making you think of the joys of travel and far off people and places.
1st August 2008 - 31st August 2008 August promises to be an eventful month, even if you have nothing penned in the diary, and while you may enjoy much of what happens you would be better planning for some unexpected outcomes. The areas of travel and communications are the focus for the more spectacular of August's planetary offerings so you can safely assume that journeys will be as eye-opening as developments in distant places. The eclipses of the 1st and 16th point to a departure of some description, whether this translates as a change from your normal routine or the end of a contract or commitment. However, you are the great explorer of the zodiac so any endings act as a springboard to the new and ultimately more gratifying. Uranus and Saturn continue to play good-guy/bad-guy with certain aspects of your life: put another way, you have been faced with situations that have pluses and minuses to them but even when you feel ready to make a decision, the situation changes yet again. You may feel you've been in a no-win position for far too long. I'm not sure whether or not you'll get the news you've been waiting for in August but you will be a whole lot further along the line by the end of the month than you were at the beginning. As always, do your best not to burn your bridges or make a drama out of a minor issue – points to remember particularly around the 5th, 14th, 16th, 23rd and 28th.
1st September 2008 - 30th September 2008 The past month may well have taken a toll on your energies and your patience but August is over and on 1st September a whole new set of influences comes in. Life-goals and career spring to the top of the agenda and with a lot of focus and foresight the first week could see you score your first goal. A job can be secured, funds raised and even if you don't achieve precisely what you want at this time, negotiations will lead to success in the future. Indeed, if you receive an offer on or around the 4th, don't hang back in the hopes that it will be upped, you need to take this opportunity immediately. Likewise, if you feel strongly that a certain action is right, go for it. By the 11th, this advice no longer applies: Uranus takes over from where Saturn left off so the climate is volatile, and statements and actions could lead to ruptures in relationships. By the same token, if someone makes a change in a plan or proposes a major alteration to a long-term endeavour, bite your tongue and wait until you can see the whole picture. Friendships and collaborations are another key theme for September, with some Sagittarians heading off on a trip with friends or colleagues and others pooling their resources with like-minded individuals. And for a few, a friendship morphs into a romance. Get as much in the diary as possible before the 24th because for the following three weeks, people will go missing, along with information and reason.
1st October 2008 - 31st October 2008 The independent Archer is about to discover the joys of working as a
team. Or at least you're going to learn a whole lot about the
importance of friends and colleagues in your life. The sun's passage
through the zone of collaboration puts the focus on personal and
business ventures, in some cases signalling the start of a new
enterprise. Old friends may require your help and advice and there could
be reunions to attend and ancient history to review. This is also a
premium period for networking and exchanging ideas with like-minded
individuals. The alignments are largely harmonious, although with
Mercury in retrograde until the 15th you may experience the delays and
detours typical of this transit. But, as soon as you see the full moon
you will know your days of running around in ever decreasing circles are
at an end. On the 18th lovely Venus arrives in your sign, adding to your
attractions and giving you the edge in competitive situations. Your
desire for beauty, harmony and love will be strong, and some
Sagittarians will begin a love-affair to remember. And, should you
want to move a romance forward or bring romance back into a relationship
go on a charm offensive during the second half of October.
1st November 2008 - 30th November 2008 When planets occupy the twelfth house of your horoscope, as they do for much of November, life seems very blurry at the edges: nothing is real and you are not quite your sparkling self. In an ideal world you'd be able to tuck yourself away from the hurly burly of life and focus on the inner world of dreams and intuitions. But since this is probably impossible you are instead going to have to devote a little more time to sleep and repairing mind, body and spirit. By the 21st the sun will be in your sign and your energy and focus will have returned so there's much to be said for maintaining a chilled attitude up until that point and refusing to buy into the rumours and dramas doing the rounds. Since September Saturn, at the zenith of your solar chart, and Uranus, at the base, have been drawing ever closer to the opposition that will be in play for the next two years. So, if you have been pulled in two directions by a situation or by the demands of one aspect of your life and the equally important needs of another, you'll already know what this opposition feels like. You can read more about Saturn and Uranus on a separate article on this site, but as far as your sign is concerned, this process of dissolution and reformation is going to be most noticeable in your career and home life. Until the 12th, Venus will be in your sign, adding to your charms but also making your love life somewhat stormy. Do your best, especially around the 12th, not to exaggerate small crimes and misdemeanours -what is full of value will survive the cosmic storm without your help! Pop the 21st in your diary because this is an excellent day for business and for making a long-term decision -you may even find that there is a connection between the latter part of November and early September.
1st December 2008 - 31st December 2008 One reason to celebrate your birthday this year is that Pluto has finally done his work - he has left your sign and moved on. Of course, he hasn't left the solar system... Now the work of creating and/or rebuilding your self- worth begins, both in the financial and psycho- emotional sense. And you may well get your first opportunity to do this during the second half of December, perhaps because of an unexpected financial bonus or through someone's obvious love and admiration for you. Likewise, if you must face a stark financial reality or someone proves to be anything but worthy of your love and support, you need to confront the fact and make some no- holds- barred decisions. Right up until the Christmas weekend Mars will be in your sign, giving you the energy and focus to do what must be done but occasionally causing arguments, if only because you have burned yourself out. Should you sense that a situation may not last for much longer or you are concerned that something is spiralling out of control, make use of Mars' incisiveness and create a safety net or two. In this volatile financial climate you are better taking a very safe course of action - something you don't want to be considering in hindsight on the 6th or 15th. A journey for love could be on the agenda too and if you're not travelling in the literal sense you could be exchanging some profound feelings across the air- waves and cyberspace. The year ends on a high note with some celestial Archers celebrating a victory.
1st January 2009 - 31st January 2009 Do you need your astrologer to tell you there are monetary issues to resolve? The passage of the sun and Mars through the zone of money and self worth means there is work to be done to get back in balance but you may also be able to make some good deals, whether these come in the form of bargains in the high street or contracts and commitments. The full moon of the 11th ends a year-long financial cycle so you can expect to be signing off on an agreement, fulfilling a monetary obligation or coming to the painful realization than you cannot keep all those plates spinning. And if it's not a financial reality that must be faced on or around the 11th it could be an emotional one. Jupiter will be in the early stages of its transit of the area of travel and communications, so although this may be a year in which you go far, and often, January could see you making your first trip to foreign parts or conducting important dialogues with people in other countries. Of course, Mercury will be in retrograde from the 11th January - 1st February so be prepared to take your time with transport and negotiations of all kinds. The last seven days of the month are somewhat unpredictable so while you could experience a breakthrough on the personal or professional front, you'll need to handle people with kid gloves to ensure that a situation does not go up in smoke.
1st March 2009 - 31st March 2009 There's nothing like getting to the root of the matter or starting to build from the foundations upwards, and you could be doing both this March. To begin with, however, it may seem as if you are doing anything but: instead of knowing what's going on and standing on solid ground, everything seems strangely indistinct. Neptune plays a leading part in events during the first eight days so aside from feeling uncertain about a situation, establishing the truth will be akin to finding a needle in a haystack. You'll need to give certain individuals the third degree and you won't be able to take anything on trust. The full moon of the 11th cuts across the life-direction axis of your solar chart, in some cases pointing to the end of a major life chapter and in others bringing a simmering issue to boiling point. The mid-December birthdays are in the front line of this trend and if you're changing jobs or moving home you'll be among that happy band too. The sun's arrival in fellow fire sign, Aries on the 20th begins a period of the year in which you're ready to have more fun and you will actively seeking to create opportunities to enjoy life – planning holidays and happy events, perhaps, even considering adding to or starting a family. And if you have an entrepreneurial or artistic streak late March and much of April finds you at the top of your game. But getting back to that theme of the roots of situations and foundation-building, events in late March could prove both enlightening and transformational.
1st February 2009 - 28th February 2009 With a crowded communications zone you could be travelling far and frequently or engaging in far reaching dialogues. Jupiter promises to make this a huge year for expanding your field of experience and adding to your bank of knowledge and expertise, and February could reveal why. Aside from a break from the routine round you may opt for a course intended to increase your earning power and you should take advantage of any and every opportunity to explore new territory. The first half of the month is a tad challenging, and you will need to keep your Sagittarian impatience and bluntness under control. Should events not go your way on or near the 5th, allow the dust to settle because out of the ashes of old situations new things come, and they'll arrive all the sooner if you keep your cool. Likewise, during the week of the 9th double-check all information and avoid snap judgements – while Neptune can make life very magical it can also throw a fine mist around situations thus obscuring their reality. Valentine's Day falls under the spell of Neptune so while you may have the most romantic day ever, any disappointment should be underplayed – after all, to place your hopes and dreams of the future on one day is somewhat unrealistic. From the 18th home affairs take precedence and for the next four weeks your agenda could contain anything from a home move to unexpected arrivals.
1st April 2009 - 30th April 2009 Life should lighten up considerably now the sun is in fellow fire sign, Aries – indeed you could be taking some time off, escaping the routine, and getting back that loving feeling. The little things in life assume a greater importance, whether you're thinking of starting or adding to your family or because you're heavily involved with your children and the younger generation. The full moon of the 9th ends a gestation period – something has been cooking over the months and it's ready to be revealed to the world – and since Easter comes on the heels of this full moon, there could be some very happy family events to follow. Not that every single day of April is unbridled joy: there's work to be done on or near the 5th , and a reality to be faced, and the week of the 13th could throw your plans into the shredder. This mid-month period could prove particularly unsettling on the home front, perhaps because your appliances have a life of their own causing inconveniences and aggravation; on the other hand, a member of the family could upset the routine and your equilibrium. Then again, you could be moving home or welcoming a new partner into your life... Finances spring into prominence at the beginning and end of the month – there could be an extra large drain on your account and even if you're in a good space financially speaking you could feel under pressure and out of pocket at these times. All things in moderation should be your mantra.
1st May 2009 - 31st May 2009 It's going to difficult being your usual independent self this month; the needs, demands and interests of others come first and it may seem as if your every step forward is followed by two back. In part this is to do with Mercury's retrograde passage but Neptune is at his confusing best so from the outset you should be prepared to check and re-check information and endeavour not to become too frustrated if people cancel on you or problems appear that cause delays. Work looks to be top of the list for any hold-ups or reversals and especially on or near the 8th and 17th information cannot be trusted so before you react to a situation make sure you are equipped with the facts. The sun enters the relationship zone on the 20th followed by a new moon on the 24th – perfect for a new beginning whether you're marrying, rekindling the romance in a long-standing partnership or hoping to meet Mr or Ms Right.
1st June 2009 - 30th June 2009 Half-way through the year and it seems one or more aspects of your life are under scrutiny, most notably a relationship. The full moon of the 7th cuts across the axis of relationships and in the wake of a Saturn square it is time to put a romance onto a permanent footing or take a very realistic view of the future of an alliance – and this could be a business relationship or your connection with an organization, not necessarily a romantic association. Indeed, people are essential to your progress in June, whether they are behind your efforts to get work, helping you complete important tasks or simply being there for you. Venus and Mars light up the work zone, making this one of the best months for networking and raising your profile; you may also find that the workplace is a-buzz because of a romance. On the 15th Jupiter, your ruler, turns retrograde and in tandem begins to take you back over old ground: a holiday to a favourite haunt for some Sagies, revision and a rethink for others and in general the next two to three months enable you to get a more balanced perspective on life and your future. The end of the month is a little stormy, especially for finances, and radical actions may be necessary to step the flood of cash out of your account. Plus, a decision may finally be reached over a loan or sale.
1st July 2009 - 31st July 2009 You're deep in financial waters, whether you're enjoying getting to the root of monetary issues and making major long-term investments or fumbling in the dark and wondering quite how to balance the budget. The eclipses of the 7th and 22nd respectively end and begin new financial cycles and there will be surprise actions by other people that make you richer or drain your bank account. Relationships also follow this trend but with Venus in the zone of partnership from the 4th to the 31st you're more likely to have happy-ever-after scenarios. Indeed, you're totally in-synch with your stars if you're marrying or becoming engaged in July. Other people should be more supportive too, and even if you don't receive all you asked for and more, you should be actively networking and seeking to impress backers this month. (Also, if romance has been in short supply there could be some very attractive options on offer so get out there and strut your booty!) The Jupiter-Neptune conjunction of the 10th could inspire a trip and it will certainly prove inspirational should you be needing to bring fresh ideas into being. From the 22nd the sun will be in the area of far horizons taking you away from home ground and encouraging links with people in distant places.
1st August 2009 - 31st August 2009 As the traveller of the zodiac you should be in your element. Planets in the zone of far horizons could send you off to all four corners of the globe, or at least out of familiar territory. Then again, the theme of far horizons could apply to your future. Either way, the lunar eclipse of the 6th and aspects to Saturn and Uranus (11th, 17th, 19th and 21st ) could change the map. If you are travelling, anticipate some delays and general irritations, especially on or near the above dates, however, as you may know, when we make an effort we appreciate the result so much more... While there is much to enjoy from August's stars, don't turn a blind eye to any distress signals, whether they are emitted by friends, family or the bank! Come September you'll need to have stabilized one or more rocky situations, which means taking a pro-active approach in August. Talk to people, air problems and make sure you have back-up plans. Even if you don't need a safety net and even if September turns out to be a golden month, you'll have gained much from 'research and development' now. Mars will be moving through the area of partnership for much of the month, so don't expect other people to roll over for you. You'll be better off going along with their ideas and generally being very accommodating. On the other hand, if sex has been off the agenda for a little too long, get ready to boogy!
1st September 2009 - 30th September 2009 With the sun at the top of your solar chart, your role in life is in the spotlight. It's time to set your material world to rights and to put your energies into mainstream objectives. Venus will head into this same area on the 20th so you might like to consider that from this point she will bring the reward for your efforts to promote yourself that you will have been engaged in since the beginning of September! The return of the Saturn-Uranus opposition (15th) will remind you once again that the old ways aren't necessarily the best ways, and that if you have bent the rules in any way you have to pay a price - chickens love to come home to roost under Saturn and Uranus. The period of the 11th - 24th requires care: while you can set plans in cement and secure a success, there will be severe ups and downs and you will not be able to predict the outcome of certain decisions and actions. Mercury will be retrograde from the 7th and while this may slow down your progress, considering the volatility of the alignments throughout the month, taking your time may be no bad thing.
1st October 2009 - 31st October 2009 Have you been neglected your friends recently, trying to go it alone? If you can answer yes to either of these questions you're going to be very happy with your October stars. Team-work and collaborations are in the mainframe, and, with Mars heading into the zone of far horizons (16th) you could be planning a trip or actually taking off to distant parts. That old bugbear – the Saturn-Uranus opposition – will still be active during the first half of the month but you may find you are sorting out the final elements of a situation that arose in August or September, rather than facing a new challenge. These two planets are changing aspects of your existence and although you may not enjoy being held up and re-routed, eventually you will be on course and happy about the outcome. Certainly, if you are considering changing your job or feeling that a new home location would be preferable, you can take steps to make a reality out of a possibility this month. Saturn's move into Libra (29th) will suit you far better and, over the course of the next three years you will be able to put creative ventures on solid ground, although you may lose some fans in the process, and aspects of your life style may have to be trimmed or re-shaped. Ruler, Jupiter, turns direct on the 13th so before the end of the year a situation you had shelved or given up on could be back in business. You're a sign that tends to think big but if you have experienced the odd lapse in confidence in recent months overcome such feelings now because you have a tail-wind behind you.
