Virgo Week Ahead Horoscope - Results
The Following Week Ahead Horoscopes Were Found:

20th January 2003 - 26th January 2003

During the past few weeks there has been a huge amount of activity on the home front, which may have translated as family gatherings and domestic upheaval. On the other hand it may have taken until now for things to begin to move. Indeed, for some Virgos the concept of moving is quite literal in that you are knee deep in packing boxes and waiting for the removal men. But whether or not you are moving home with Pluto stirring the sediment at the roots of your chart, something that has been concealed is about to be revealed. This could manifest as a lost object, a hidden truth or a set of feelings that finally erupt and regardless of the waves created by such an event the process will be entirely therapeutic.

27th January 2003 - 2nd February 2003

Saturn and Jupiter play equally important roles this week. And they have totally opposite effects. Saturn always gives you pause for thought and sometimes presides over a period in which hopes are dimmed and projects have to be placed on hold yet Jupiter positively encourages hopes and creates an atmosphere of joy and success. Thus, it may be that one situation in your life reflects the Saturnian struggle while another produces a sense of achievement and increase. Then again you may find that after an initial disappointment the plus points to a difficult situation begin to reveal themselves or you will be compensated for a loss or cancellation.

3rd February 2003 - 9th February 2003

Hardly a planet steps out of line this week so life in tandem should be smooth and pleasant. At least that’s the theory. If, however, you find yourself in that all too familiar obstacle race keep yourself sane by remembering that under favourable stars like these something good lies at the base of any difficulty or disappointment. And speaking of bases! with much of the positive action taking place at the base of your chart a family or property matter could be the source of any upwardly mobile developments. Certainly, this is a week when efforts made to improve your living conditions will be rewarded and you should focus on putting down the foundation stones of new endeavours and relationships.

13th January 2003 - 19th January 2003

Life returns to normal. Well, almost. We still have to wait for Mercury to right itself so there may still be some delays and queries to deal with but at least you seem to have more energy and focus. The full moon of the 18th falls in the area of collaboration so this mid-to-latter part of January is both a time when a gestation period comes to an end and a time when your heart is full and your need to find fulfilment is acute. I am not exactly urging you to forget your responsibilities but I am suggesting that you put yourself first for the time being. Once you know what you want and what best serves your interests and abilities, the rest will fall into place.

10th February 2003 - 16th February 2003

There are two ways of looking at this week’s astrology: first that the effects of these two entirely opposite influences cancel each other out or that one triumphs over the other. Representing the divine are Jupiter and Neptune and acting as the trouble-makers are Mars and Pluto. Thus, while the former could produce a miracle and certainly an increase in optimism the latter could present you with a large headache. Mars and Pluto are currently to be found at the base of your chart so they are helping you transform your life at root level and in the process there could be some upheaval on the home front. Deal with events in a practical and expedient way but under no circumstances give up hope.

17th February 2003 - 23rd February 2003

Saturn may not be the jolliest member of the planetary team but he does help you see a situation in a realistic light. And since there is a general trend for fantasy and confusion you may need all the reality you can get. If a wonderful career opportunity opens up, examine the small print carefully and be sure that you are not offending anyone who could do you any harm in the future. On the other hand, if a job proves unsatisfactory - or goes by the board - endeavour to find the real reasons for the change in circumstances. Likewise, if someone sweeps you off your feet, be sure that he or she has what it really takes to make you happy and if a relationship or some other venture collapses, consider yourself relieved of a painful duty!

24th February 2003 - 2nd March 2003

Life settles down this week. The planets are kinder and in tandem you will find other people more accommodating. You could also begin to make sense of what has been a confusing and unstable patch. The best of the influences are to be found in the areas of work and life-direction so some Virgos could achieve promotion or be given a firm indication of future success while others may now find out whether or not there is any truth in recent rumours. And in general the astrology helps you put plans on a firm basis. In short you’ll be able to see the wood for the trees. Make the most of these calmer waters, however, in a few short weeks there will be waves aplenty!

3rd March 2003 - 9th March 2003

You may be one of the more self-contained signs of the zodiac but every so often you are made aware of the importance of togetherness, loyalty and support. The new moon (3rd) is a sign of new beginnings on the relationship front, whether this manifests as the start of a new liaison or a fresh phase of an established partnership. We all have a tendency to slip into a rut with our marriages and friendships but all it takes is a change in the routine to make us see a person in a new light and, indeed, the relationship itself in stark relief. For many Virgos, but especially those with August birthdays, March will prove to be an eye-opener and certainly the spring-board to a new phase of your life.

10th March 2003 - 16th March 2003

The 10th is an important day in the Virgo calendar. Uranus enters the area of love and relating with a brief to change everything! Well, maybe that is an exaggeration but this planet will certainly get rid of the cobwebs draping your love life. To begin with it will be those with birthdays between the 24th and 28th August who will see a difference in their relationships but during the course of the next seven years every Virgo will discover what Uranus can do for them in the way of bringing new and unusual people into their lives and stretching their capacity to love. Whether events this fortnight show you in no uncertain terms the truth of this prediction or whether you merely sense the drumbeat of change it is time to look at the old beliefs and expectations that stand in the way of true love and reciprocity.

17th March 2003 - 23rd March 2003

The only full moon in your sign this year takes place on the 18th and it provides you with a valuable opportunity to experience closure. Even if your life is full and you have few complaints there may still be a past incident that has left some raw edges and these now need to be addressed. A relationship is the most likely source of those raw edges and since Uranus has just begun to influence this area of your life before you can embrace the new the old must be put to bed. This full moon will highlight any aspect of your life that needs to be sorted and although this is not the lightest and brightest period of the year what you resolve and set in motion will make you happier and more secure in the future.

5th May 2003 - 11th May 2003

If you are sensing that a situation is getting out of control, you may well be correct. But at least you have an opportunity to perform a damage limitation exercise. These influences help you make bold statements and in the event of a difficulty they will evoke your courageous and philosophical spirit. Not that these stars are all about problems and hard decisions. In fact they could be quite the reverse. There is an exuberant feel to the astrology this week, which will encourage others to be generous and good-hearted, and if you have a special event in your diary, or you are waiting for an answer, what happens should be the stuff of the memory books.

12th May 2003 - 18th May 2003

Start as you mean to go on and expect life to throw you a curved ball or two. Mixed messages and lost plots are all part of this mysterious astro-scape and while this will make life interesting to say the least it could also create a few anxious moments. Before the 16th contact people who are essential to an event or an endeavour in order to ensure everyone is on the same page. Then keep a close check on arrangements thereafter. Travel and long-distance communications look to be top of the list for any unusual developments - a magical experience maybe but you should have a contingency plan up your sleeve nonetheless.

24th March 2003 - 30th March 2003

Earlier in March Uranus entered the relationship zone but this is the first opportunity you have had of discovering quite what this may mean. Between the 27th and 30th Venus and the moon conjunct this ground-breaking planet producing two very different scenarios - and this is especially so if you have a birthday on or near 24th August. On the plus side you could be on the receiving end of an unexpected marriage proposal, or a sudden and compelling romantic attraction may arise, but on the minus side a long-standing liaison could fall apart at the seams. In reality these influences are not intended to wreak havoc in a satisfactory life- they are instead a wake up call.

31st March 2003 - 6th April 2003

Virgo is not the type to rely on sheer luck alone - you are, after all, the workaholic of the zodiac - but these fortunate stars could produce a minor miracle this week. Finances are the focus of the astrological bounty so although you might be tempted into a heavy bout of retail therapy it is more likely that a long-awaited payment comes through or someone behaves in a very generous fashion towards you. Investments, borrowings and property sales/purchases are under favourable influences and there is a chance that an old deal is about to come back on to the table. The past has taught you some valuable lessons but this is one week when you can afford to take a flying leap in the dark.

7th April 2003 - 13th April 2003

Beautiful Venus has another two weeks to go before she exits the zone of love and relating but it is these two weeks that really count. By connecting to Pluto (13th) and Saturn (17th) Venus tests the value and strength of a relationship. These connections could also bring to light the real state of an endeavour or an association. In many ways this is a prime time to make a long-term commitment and to put your love to the test but this period is not without its darker undercurrents. For instance by raising an issue or revealing your feelings you may uncover more than you intended. And you know what happened once Pandora’s box was opened!

14th April 2003 - 20th April 2003

Under these contentious stars if people can be difficult, they will be. And while you should not compromise your standards or allow someone to walk all over you, by being gracious and philosophical you will achieve far more. Thursday’s connection between Venus in the area of relationships and Saturn is far from light-hearted, although any agreements or decisions made at this time should prove solid and lasting. Venus-Saturn connections tend to highlight the problems between two people and reveal where each person feels neglected, unfulfilled or un-addressed. With love and patience this astro-scape can help a relationship to become stronger - throwing your arms up in despair is not an option.

21st April 2003 - 27th April 2003

Ruler, Mercury, takes one if his reverse turns on Saturday and for the following three weeks will be moving backwards through the area of far horizons. Mercury’s retrograde passage can be a nuisance yet it can also prove an asset. Hidden problems are often revealed during a Mercury retreat and there is invariably a very good reason why a project grinds to a halt or someone withdraws their support. If, on the other hand, you are about to do a serious amount of travelling, bear in mind that journeys will prove convoluted and delays are likely. With this in mind, making a few contingency plans now could prove useful, as would making sure all concerned are singing from the same hymn-sheet.

28th April 2003 - 4th May 2003

With all the activity in the area of travel and long-range endeavours you should be taking off at this point of the year. And even if you’re not about to board a plane or take a trip to a distant location you should be looking positively to the future. However, with Mercury in retrograde and a generous dose of Neptune your progress, albeit in the right direction, may take you longer than expected and your journey may turn out to have many twists and turns. On balance you have more going for you than against so you should continue to have faith in your endeavours and to build on the foundations of new enterprises and associations. It’s called action-backed hope.

19th May 2003 - 25th May 2003

Put on your anything-goes hat because this week’s astrology is all about the unexpected. In early March iconoclast, Uranus, entered the area of partnerships, so especially if you have an August birthday 2003 is likely to produce some very interesting relationship developments! and one of these developments could be about to happen. At worst this is a week when you realize someone has a very different agenda from yours therefore a re-think about your future is required but at best someone could make you an offer you cannot refuse. Play safe with life, limb and your credit card but live a little with your heart.

26th May 2003 - 1st June 2003

The second eclipse of the month falls on a strategic axis of your horoscope - that of life direction. And since this is an eclipsed new moon it represents the beginning of a brand new phase. For some Virgos this may emerge as a new job, new surroundings or a new contact; for others a change of life-style is imminent, perhaps because of a holiday or a new addition to the family. However, eclipses are rarely portents of light-weight events and you should be prepared for out of the blue announcements and an element of mystery developing around a certain person or situation. This forecast is not intended to alarm you so much as to sharpen your instincts.

2nd June 2003 - 8th June 2003

Jupiter-Neptune combinations raise our hopes and increase our stores of love and compassion, yet they can also inflate fears and difficulties. As far as the latter is concerned, if you believe a situation is not heading in the direction that you had hoped or you sense someone is not on your side, this would be the moment to express your unease. It may be that your fears are unfounded but, with a looming sun-Pluto opposition (9th), far better that you deal with a difficulty before it becomes a crisis. Not that these influences do not have their positive side: indeed this is the kind of astro-setting in which great things are achieved.

9th June 2003 - 15th June 2003

There is nothing ordinary about these stars. Pluto, Uranus and a full moon (14th) combined have the power to shift anything that has been stuck in a groove - and, with or without your approval! In your heart of hearts you may have known for some time that a situation was unsustainable and unless everyone concerned was prepared to make huge efforts and sacrifices it was not going to work out. Cutting your losses therefore would be one solution to the events thrown up by these influences. On the other hand, these blockbuster aspects could prove to be just what you need to fulfil an ambition that you have struggled long and hard to achieve.

16th June 2003 - 22nd June 2003

On the 17th Mars arrives in the seventh house of relationships where, during the next six months, he will either resuscitate a moribund love life or reveal to you who are your opponents. Mars activates yet also aggravates so while you may welcome some badly needed energy with which to get certain situations moving you should also be prepared for some arguments and opposition. However, this week is unlikely to produce any upsets or aggravation - indeed this should be a time when you make progress and find consensus and harmony. The weekend looks to be a particularly enjoyable and fun time and an invitation or proposal should be accepted with enthusiasm.

23rd June 2003 - 29th June 2003

If ever there was an astro-scape of extremes, it is this one. All the usual suspects are on board - Uranus, Pluto and Saturn - so while it may seem as if you are being put through a ring of fire for no good reason whatsoever, any challenging experiences will prove worthwhile. The area of relationships is in the frame, whether you are about to be bowled over by a new love or on the point of exiting a relationship that has weathered too many storms. Certainly this is a week when anything and everything may happen, especially if you have a late August birthday. Keep your feet on the ground and your sense of humour at the ready.

30th June 2003 - 6th July 2003

Uranus and Pluto are not the easiest of planets to deal with: while they open up new directions in which to channel your talents and affections they rarely do so in a stress-free and welcome fashion. That is unless they are gently anchored by a personal planet, which is the case this week. Love blossoms suddenly under such stars and romantic decisions are made with blinding certainty; likewise, business, financial or domestic developments happen unexpectedly, in some cases removing the blocks that have been there for some considerable time. Life may not be perfect but it is looking greatly improved.

7th July 2003 - 13th July 2003

There is a warning light flashing over a friendship or an endeavour at present. It may be only a small error that requires amending or it could be that there is a serious flaw at the heart of a situation. With your fine mind and your eye for detail you should have no trouble in discovering where a problem lies, and with your people skills you should experience little difficulty in resolving the matter. Sweetly and smartly. By stark contrast this could be a week when you bring a project that has been cooking for some time into the public arena, in which case you can expect a solid success. Likewise an association could also be ready to be put to the test.

14th July 2003 - 20th July 2003

A mystery is not something Virgo relishes, unless it is firmly in the realm of fiction, but you can put your problem solving skills to good use this week. There may be no truth whatsoever in a rumour and even a letter from an organization may be full of errors; likewise a partner or someone you have come to rely on could be short on facts and long on embellishment. Especially between the 16th and 18th thoroughly check information and make sure everyone involved in an event or a meeting is singing from the same hymn sheet. On balance this second half of July is more settled and accommodating than the first, even so you should not take everything for granted.

21st July 2003 - 27th July 2003

At the end of August a new and more fulfilling cycle will begin so in order to capitalize on events at that time a period of retreat, reflection and preparation is advised. You may have many demands placed on you and many commitments to meet but you should plan to give yourself enough space to come back to yourself from time to time. That way you will gain insights and understandings that will enable you to eliminate those things that are preventing you from finding your true path, your true happiness. During the next two weeks a seemingly insignificant development could prove to be the proverbial tip of the iceberg.

28th July 2003 - 3rd August 2003

Solving a mystery is deeply satisfying to the Virgo mind and you have many such opportunities to discover the truth now. Indeed, this is a period in which working behind the scenes and taking a relatively low profile has its definite advantages. Aside from gaining some useful distance from people and events in order to establish what is really going on, this week represents a time of replenishment and restoration. Events on the 31st have a revelatory aura to them, whether you reach an understanding all by yourself or whether you come across some eye-opening information. Whatever the discoveries of this period, however, it might be better to wait until the end of August before acting on them.

4th August 2003 - 10th August 2003

There is a sense of preparation and expectation in your chart. You may be getting ready for a specific event but the chances are you have nothing set in stone but simply sense that something good is about to happen. Well, Jupiter’s arrival in your sign on the 27th is the start of a year-long cycle of improvements so you have a solid basis upon which to build your hopes and expectations. However, the immediate future should be used to establish what of those hopes and expectations has a real chance of materializing and what are time-wasting and energy-draining. This week’s influences go a long way to showing you what can be achieved when opportunity meets preparation.

11th August 2003 - 17th August 2003

At the end of this month, Jupiter will enter Virgo for a year-long stay with the intention of enriching and expanding your life. However, before this process can begin certain situations need to be faced and resolved - and the next couple of weeks provide you with just such an opportunity. Whereas six months ago the ball was in other people’s courts now you are the one who must initiate and negotiate. And although you cannot flout the rules with impunity you must nonetheless do what you know in your heart is right for you. This is no time for compromise and even if, around the 13th, events seem to be heading you in the wrong direction, trust in yourself.

18th August 2003 - 24th August 2003

Jupiter and Uranus share the honours in making this one of the most stunning weeks of 2003. It might not bring you your heart’s desire but it could change a dreary pattern of life and give you the shot in the arm you require. Virgo tends to put its own needs and ambitions in second place to duties and responsibilities but especially if you have a birthday between the 23rd and 26th of August your moment of liberation has arrived! Whether you free yourself from a rigid routine or board an express train out of an unhappy or unfulfilling commitment do not look back.

25th August 2003 - 31st August 2003

Not with a whimper but with a flourish Jupiter enters Virgo on the 27th and is immediately followed by a new moon in your sign. Do you need any more evidence that you are on the threshold of a new and opportunity-laden era? During the next twelve months there will be at least one event in your life that is outstanding in the most welcome of ways and for many Virgos this is the start of one of the most successful and fulfilling years of the past decade. As for the week ahead, especially if you have an August birthday, expect the unexpected and don’t hesitate to make a break from tradition, or indeed break out of an unhappy situation.

1st September 2003 - 7th September 2003

Have you ever complained that nothing ever happens? Well, you may have cause to eat your words this week. Not only Jupiter but also Pluto make for larger than life developments, and even without an event of great significance you may sense a degree of power and drama running through situations. At best this is a time when you feel your cup runneth over - life and love are just too good for words - but at worst a situation that you have been hoping to contain may now bubble over. Virgo is a rational and reasonable sign but don’t be surprised if you suddenly develop the passion of a Scorpio and the daring of an Aries.

8th September 2003 - 14th September 2003

Since late August your chart has been showing signs of great change, if not a degree of turmoil, and this trend will reach a peak between the 8th and 13th. Certainly, if your birthday falls during this period you are looking at a year of unparalleled growth and opportunity. The world turns on aspects such as these, by which I mean that wonderful things come into being as do events that challenge and provoke us. With this in mind, accept the gifts you are given, whether they come in the form of new people and new situations or whether they force you to confront a problem and change a long-established pattern of existence.

15th September 2003 - 21st September 2003

If you came through last week with not a hair out of place, count yourself privileged; on the other hand, maybe Jupiter is already proving to you what a protective influence he can be! Whatever the vicissitudes of the recent past it looks to be a case of onward and upward from here. Indeed, with Venus moving into the zone of self-worth your financial situation could be first on the list of improvements. This is the beginning of a period when you should have confidence in your purchases and investments; it is also a time when you should not underestimate your value, whether in terms of talent, personality or wisdom.

22nd September 2003 - 28th September 2003

For the past eight weeks Mars has been on a go-slow in the area of relationships, so it may be that a romance or a working partnership has been experiencing difficulties. But while any situation that has been moving backwards or stuck in a relentless rut could have given you sleepless nights, it may also have served a useful purpose - a factor that now may become clear. The weekend of the 27th represents a turning point - your feelings about someone or your attitude to a situation may suddenly change; on the other hand the emergence of some fresh information or the arrival of a new person in your life could act as a catalyst for a change of heart.

29th September 2003 - 5th October 2003

With Venus gracing the financial sector of your solar chart already you should be sensing improvements in the air. This is an excellent week to make an investment and to tie up contracts or monetary arrangements, and although you will need to ensure that you have a safety clause, this is not a time to be fearful of jumping in the deep end. And while finances look to be the hot topic of the moment, much the same advice could apply to your love life. Life might not be perfect but the astrological climate could not be a better one in which to plant seeds of personal and professional alliances and endeavours of a financial nature.

6th October 2003 - 12th October 2003

Monday’s sun-Saturn conjunction provides food for thought. What may at one time have seemed a great idea may suddenly be looking distinctly moth-eared or you may feel you have spent too much time and energy on a situation that is giving you little reward. Either way, you should be making sensible and expedient decisions now, not seeking reassurances or expecting miracles. The area of finances is currently in the frame and there is an aura of commitments coming to an end or monetary negotiations reaching a conclusion. All in all this is a week of closing chapters and redirecting your energies in more profitable directions.

13th October 2003 - 19th October 2003

Loving communications are the trend for the week ahead and even if you do not receive a warm and wonderful message you should make every effort to be sweet and reasonable - as the old saying goes, you get more bees with honey than vinegar! In the event of someone proving difficult, if not downright opposed to your ideas and needs, you may well win him or her round with gentle persuasion. It may also help to allow some time and distance to accumulate after a difference of opinion. Not that this period is truly challenging - indeed the weekend of the 18th looks to be full of beautiful and tender moments!

20th October 2003 - 26th October 2003

Gentle aspects to Uranus help you break down barriers, whether these are self-created or produced by circumstance or other people. If you are unhappy or insecure about what is happening to you in regard to work or a relationship, now is the moment to air your concerns, not with angst but with confidence that a new way forward can emerge. People will be receptive to your ideas and offers now; likewise, you should be open to the opinions and proposals of others. In this climate good things happen, positive decisions can be made, and even an unexpected U-turn can turn out to be the best possible scenario for you.

27th October 2003 - 2nd November 2003

Life appears to be anything but static during the next couple of weeks: either you will be on the move, organizing others and promoting your ideas or a situation that has been stuck in a giant rut will suddenly start to shift. By and large, this is a favourable time for you, even if you do feel a mite conflicted about a situation and under pressure to make a quick decision, so have faith in events and confidence in your actions. Neptune makes an appearance on the 30th, just to remind you that appearances can be deceptive and that sometimes truth is a great deal stranger than fiction.

3rd November 2003 - 9th November 2003

Your negotiating skills are likely to be in demand between now and the 16th. You could be travelling extensively or taking one of those formidable journeys in consciousness; either way your expeditions should prove enriching. The lunar eclipse of the 9th may temporarily impede good communications but what emerges around this time will no doubt enlighten you as to the real purpose of a relationship or working commitment. This is also a time when contracts can be exchanged and information related to your long-term future can be gleaned. All in all November is shaping up to be one of the most seminal periods of 2003.

10th November 2003 - 16th November 2003

If life has been a tad boring recently here come some lively stars to pitchfork you out of that rut. Already, Mars and Jupiter have been increasing the potential for grand gestures, whether you have been on the receiving end of someone else’s extravagant displays or whether you have been giving forth big time but this week sees this trend reaching something of a peak. Virgos tend to be on the reticent side - and how many times have you stood back and watched someone else take all the glory - but not so now: you are in the spotlight, whether you are accepting a reward for your faith and hard work or whether you are telling an individual or an organization precisely what you think.

17th November 2003 - 23rd November 2003

The total eclipse of the 23rd has new regimes printed all over it. And since it takes place in the home centre of your solar chart, the chances are that any new developments are set to come in regarding your family or the home itself. Pluto is also in the mix, so do not expect this time of transition to be easy or light-hearted. The issues being brought to the surface now, like items that have been lurking unseen in the cellar, give a whole new meaning to the phrase a bolt from the blue. As always Pluto urges you to strip away that which is rotten or past its sell-by date and any which way you can do this will prove both therapeutic and helpful to your future.

24th November 2003 - 30th November 2003

November goes out in a blaze of glory. Indeed, there is nothing small and insignificant about this week’s astrology. If you have a big event already penned in your diary, you have the equivalent of a full symphony orchestra to accompany it, and if you don’t, prepare to be surprised. But before you get carried away with the notion that everything in the cosmos is wonderful right now, with Pluto acting as conductor, while the good is fantastic, the bad is, well, fasten your seat belts. Changing spaces is the theme of the moment, whether this is reflected in a change of home or work location or whether events give you a whole new perspective on life, love and the rest.

1st December 2003 - 7th December 2003

Mercury’s arrival in the fifth house of your solar chart is to be welcomed. You are at the beginning of an extremely social and creative period, and one when discussions lead to new endeavours and meetings become the spring-board to new romances or working friendships. That’s the good part. The more difficult stuff lies at the feet of Saturn and a forthcoming alignment involving the full-moon and Pluto (8th-10th December). Translated, this means some information could appear next week that changes an arrangement or sets you on a new and less than appreciated course. Therefore, this week’s solid and realistic influences should be put to good use by creating a contingency plan or two.

8th December 2003 - 14th December 2003

Not since mid-September have there been such power-packed alignments - they may ignite slumbering passions and bring to an end old eras. In some ways this would be an ideal period in which to make a big career move or initiate major changes on the home front, but if such plans are not in your diary, there may well be other, more subtle ways, in which your position will be altered. Events around the 8th and 9th are likely to bring buried issues to the surface - it is a time of realizations and high-octane emotions. But whether you are happy about developments or somewhat sandbagged by them that theme of new beginnings is written all over them.

15th December 2003 - 21st December 2003

Hopefully, you have been following the Virgo code to success and survival so you have your Christmas sorted and are looking forward to taking it easy from now on. Not so? Well, you have until the 17th, when ruler, Mercury turns retrograde, to get all your festive ducks in a row. From then on there are likely to be some travel hiccups and cancellations or postponements to take on board, and while these may not be a huge problem they will add to the general stresses and strains of the season. Ideally, you should start to trim your schedule now and make contingency plans for long journeys. Being prepared is half the battle.

22nd December 2003 - 28th December 2003

A new moon in the creative, social and pleasure oriented zone of your horoscope sets a brilliant and optimistic tone to the festive season. However, first there is work to be done and a difficult conversation to negotiate - most probably on the 22nd. Facing the music in one way or another appears to be necessary before the celebrations can get rolling - indeed, once you have dealt with the difficult stuff, Christmas will seem all the sweeter. A beautiful moment looks set for the 25th and at the very least this is one of the most spiritual and caring Christmases for years.

29th December 2003 - 4th January 2004

Are we having fun? Under these Saturnian influences probably not quite as much as you had expected. But if you have work to do and a big decision to make, you couldn’t want for better stars. Working parties and joint collaborations bear the brunt of Saturn’s challenging agenda: it may be that the weather or some other external factor gets in the way of your perfect plans or it could be that other people are feeling out of sorts. Whatever the cause of any dip in the happiness barometer, there is much to be learned from the events of the coming week. Be philosophical and adaptable, and most important of all keep your sense of humour.

5th January 2004 - 11th January 2004

Life returns to normal and in the process what has been stuck in the pipeline since mid-December will start to make its appearance. And although this may prove an entirely satisfactory experience Wednesday’s full moon could up the emotional amps. With this in mind play down other people’s dramas and avoid going into production on any of your own. And speaking of productions! this is a highly creative period and may well coincide with the end of a gestation period, whether in the real sense of new life or in the metaphorical sense of the finalization of a business project. What is born this week should make you very happy in the future.

12th January 2004 - 18th January 2004

Venus’s arrival in the zone of love and relating sparks a short season of big relationship developments, the first of which may take place this week. Uranus is a key player so you should anticipate a surprise turn of events. For some Virgoans, especially those born in August, a sudden and powerful attraction could develop between you and someone who differs markedly from your usual template. For others, a relationship that is already in trouble will be stretched to breaking point. And for most members of your sign someone close to you now reveals a very different side of his or her nature. Enlightening, liberating - these are the buzzwords of the moment.

19th January 2004 - 25th January 2004

Jobs and finance take centre stage this week: on the plus side a new moon in the work sector of your solar chart signals a fresh phase for your career while Mars in the area of money and partnership will help you negotiate long-term financial deals. On the down side Saturn’s input could lead to the cancellation or postponement of a date or a heart to heart with someone may prove unexpectedly painful. Do your best to see events in their larger context - this is not a time for short-term solutions or to take things too personally. Fortunately, Jupiter makes an appearance over the weekend, raising spirits, if not the roof!

26th January 2004 - 1st February 2004

This is another of those make or break periods, especially for a relationship. Venus has been beaming her principles of love and harmony on the area of relating and particularly if you have an 8th -14th September birthday this week marks a turning point for a romantic or professional association. The weekend of the 31st is the centre-point of this trend, making this a perfect time to marry, sign a long-term agreement or bring an end to a commitment that is too painful or costly. Whatever the events of the next seven days this is a period in which you become acutely aware of what (or who) you want and what needs to happen in order to achieve those ends.

2nd February 2004 - 8th February 2004

As one of the more sensitive bunnies in the zodiac this is a week in which to take extra care of your system, both in the physical and psychological sense. If you already have a health worry, instead of keeping on regardless, go check it out. And if you’re simply feeling tired and much put upon, do yourself a favour and take some time out. Other people will survive without you, and it is good for them to have to draw on their own resources for a change. Neptune and a full moon combine to set the rumour mill in motion and to throw one or more situations into a state of confusion and uncertainty. Keep your feet on the ground.

9th February 2004 - 15th February 2004

While your powers of analysis help you solve the knottiest problems - at least in the material world - they can fail you completely when it comes to affairs of the heart. And this is where we seem to be this week. Not given to romantic flights of fancy you may nonetheless be nurturing some hopes that someone feels the same way as you do, and you are about to discover the truth. This is the kind of astrology that separates truth from fantasy: it reveals the depth and commitment of which a person is capable and it exposes duplicity and sham. Especially if you have a birthday around the 25th August or the 12th September a moment of truth approaches.

16th February 2004 - 22nd February 2004

Do you like surprises? I hope so, because the cosmos is full of them this week. August birthdays look to be on the receiving end of the biggest developments but whenever you were born this is a period of awakenings and accelerated learning! Not surprisingly, the area of relationships is in the forefront of events and even if a surprise proposal isn’t on your agenda, someone is likely to make a move that astounds you. Virgo tends to be a sign that likes to be in control but this is a period of the year when you may simply have to offer yourself up to experience. I can’t promise that you’ll love every minute of the next few days, but you’ll be anything but bored.

23rd February 2004 - 29th February 2004

Take nothing and no one for granted this week. Communication buff, Mercury, follows the sun into the area of relationships and almost immediately hooks up to revolutionary, Uranus: translated this means that someone is about to say or do something that will change your opinion of him or her, if not a lot more besides. At best this combination will produce an out of the blue offer that opens up your world but at worst an individual or an organization could pull the rug out from beneath your feet. Whatever the case, now is the time to re-think a relationship or two and to recognize that ruts of any description are not conducive to growth and happiness.

1st March 2004 - 7th March 2004

Partnerships are in the spotlight, big time. Especially if you have a birthday around the 25th August or 7th September an end of an era is writ large in your stars. This is both a time in which two hearts and minds can merge and one in which the ties that bind can be severed - there are no half-measures here. And whenever your birthday events this week reveal the strengths and weaknesses of romantic and professional relationships. Jupiter is a key player and it may be that an endeavour has reached a half-way point, in which case you will know whether your hopes and efforts have been justified or whether you should to cut your losses.

8th March 2004 - 14th March 2004

Pluto has been taking a back seat since January so you may have come to believe that someone or something has disappeared from your life. Not a bit of it. The past comes streaming into the present now, whether you visit a place that brings back old memories, an offer returns to the table or a relationship is resurrected. There are many aspects to the events of the coming week that will gratify you and encourage you to believe that a divine hand has been at work but even if you feel you have lost more than you have gained, in the fullness of time you will see that you have added to your lot and increased your stature.

15th March 2004 - 21st March 2004

Ever had that Monday morning feeling? Well, if you haven’t Monday’s hard-nosed Mercury-Saturn square will explain! This is hardly a week that gets off on a great note, but by working solidly at your labours and dealing with problems in a practical, unemotional way, you will reach the weekend in triumph and ready to party. On the 20th a new moon in the area of joint interests and finances points the way to improvements - and certainly activity - where loans and investments are concerned. And with go-get-‘em Mars reaching the highpoint of your chart on the 21st you are starting a six-week period when you can move proverbial mountains, especially in regard to your career and life ambitions.

22nd March 2004 - 28th March 2004

Just when you thought it was safe to come out of the kitchen, along comes Uranus and gives you one of those wake-up-and-smell-the-coffee moments! Admittedly, this may turn out to be an entirely welcome experience but even the best of surprises can create ripples in an otherwise calm and uncomplicated life. Mars and Uranus are responsible for any departures from the normal routine, whether they bring someone new into your life who makes your heart beat faster or whether changes at work lead to a new role for you. You tend to put up with situations that and people who use and abuse you: isn’t it time the proverbial worm turned?

29th March 2004 - 4th April 2004

In the place of strife and stress come harmony and ease: gone are the difficult influences that have been circulating during the past couple of weeks. A delightful connection between the sun in the area of finance and Neptune in the work zone, gives you an opportunity to display your talents and to reach a satisfactory conclusion where a monetary or professional matter is concerned. On the 3rd, Venus arrives at the Mid-heaven of your chart, where for the next five months, she will endeavour to bring more love and happiness into your life. And since Mars is already active in this area, the next three weeks could produce a major success story.

5th April 2004 - 11th April 2004

Roughly a year ago, the revolutionary planet, Uranus, headed into the zone of relationships with the intention of jolting you out of any complacent ruts. And to begin with it is the August birthdays who are top of the list for any awakenings, whether this translates as meeting someone new who blows you away or whether a long-time partner experiences a change of circumstances that in turn affect the future of your relationship. Between the 8th-11th Uranus is at his most effective, so you can expect anything from a sudden proposal to an unexpected revelation. Certainly, this is a week when your plans need to be elastic enough to accommodate last moment changes and overnight sensations!

12th April 2004 - 18th April 2004

You may well have chosen this Easter for a special event; if so, this week’s astro-scape should not disappoint. Jupiter, currently raising hopes and success levels for the 30th August-3rd September birthdays, forges major connections to Venus and Mars in the area of life-direction, setting the stage for a promotion or some other larger than life event. Nevertheless, it must be said that this combination can also inflate problems and exaggerate minor upsets, therefore, do your best to distance yourself from situations that and people who press all your negative buttons. The 14th/15th is the most exciting yet also the most destabilizing period of a week that has much to offer all those Virgos ready to embrace change.

19th April 2004 - 25th April 2004

Every so often Pluto comes along and gives you a little reminder that while you have perfect plans, other people do not necessarily agree with them. There is a rather confrontational aura to this week’s stars, which on the plus side, gives you the power and determination to move a proverbial mountain but on the minus side, you are likely to discover the strength of your opposition. Especially where work or the home is concerned do your best to separate emotions from the central issue: you will get far further waving an olive branch than a pitchfork, and sometimes what appears to be such a barrier to harmony, happiness and success turns out to be the very bridge to it.

26th April 2004 - 2nd May 2004

Venus-Pluto connections are the stuff of change and transformation so, especially if you have an 8th-12th September birthday, be prepared to be shaken and stirred! You may have selected this period of the year for a house move, a job change or some other key life event, in which case these stars merely underline the enormity of the occasion, but if you have nothing important penned in your diary, during the next seven to ten days events may well conspire to offer you a new window on your world. At the very least, these alignments give you an opportunity to alter some long-held beliefs and give voice to feelings that have been hidden for some time. Think wake up calls and moments of truth.

3rd May 2004 - 9th May 2004

Trying to separate fact from fiction is this week’s challenge. And with your analytical, pragmatic approach to life, you are the ideal person to perform such a task. What you must do, however, is avoid taking anything personally. People do not necessarily mean what they say, and their actions could be confusing, therefore treat rumours with the disrespect they deserve and question information reaching you from institutions and superiors. Travel and communications are in the frame, encouraging you to go far but not to lose your sense of direction - a point to be taken whether you are travelling out of your area or making a journey in terms of life experience.

10th May 2004 - 16th May 2004

Your sign is not noted for taking large leaps of faith, nor do you leave home ground without a clear idea of where you’re headed - and we’re not just talking travel here. You are someone who likes to know the full story. However, you are now being encouraged to look further than your own back yard for fulfilment,, and without a guarantee of what you will find. Aside from the possibility that you are about to do some serious travelling, rather more importantly, you should be considering ways in which to expand your life - emotionally, professionally, whatever. To this end, this is the right time to approach an individual or an organization in a position to open doors for you.

17th May 2004 - 23rd May 2004

With the sun’s arrival on the mid-heaven of your solar chart (20th) career and life-ambitions return to the main agenda. Not known for your ruthless ambition, this is a time when you need to find your steel backbone, leaving others in no doubt as to your aims and intentions. Especially if you have a 25th -29th August birthday, 2004 is a year of great change and opportunity - as events of the week ahead may prove. Do not expect the next seven days to be routine and uneventful, whether you are the architect of a sudden change of heart or whether someone else takes an unexpected course of action. Don’t be afraid to rock the boat or to jump ship - it’s time other people realized you have a mind of your own.

24th May 2004 - 31st May 2004

This is one of those weeks when anything and everything may happen. Uranus, like the Cosmic Joker he is, shows you where your thinking has been wrong and reveals just how little you know certain people. In many ways this is the right time to sever a connection with an organization or an individual - think of it as gaining your liberty, and focus on what opportunities lie ahead - yet it is also a time when romance comes into your life with the speed and force of a hurricane. If life changes for the better overnight, count your blessings but also accept that you have worked towards just such a happy development; and if a situation collapses like a deflated balloon, do not try to piece it together, but move on courageously.

31st May 2004 - 6th June 2004

There are no shades of grey about these alignments: life is either wonderful or the pits. Nevertheless, in the long run, you will be the one to reap huge benefits from developments between now and mid-June. Jupiter’s presence brings a protective and benign influence to bear: some Virgos may experience tremendous good fortune, while others may simply feel that life is good. However, Pluto is also part of the package, and this planet can act like a volcano bringing up buried issues and revealing hidden factors, all of which change the shape of relationships and agendas. Especially if you have an 8th - 13th September birthday, you appear to have reached a crossroads: take the path with the heart.

7th June 2004 - 13th June 2004

Since the beginning of June Pluto has been urging you to get rid of aspects of your existence that you simply do not need. Now, this may translate as your shedding a few unwanted pounds but it is more likely, especially if you have a late August or mid-September birthday, that a personal or professional commitment is about to be dropped. But before you press the panic button, let me assure you that what may come to an end now is creating the space for something new and better to come in. This is the ideal time to make sweeping changes in your life, and whether you are excited about events or crying over spilt milk, you personally are moving onward and upward.

14th June 2004 - 20th June 2004

Pluto has been taking a lead role in astrological affairs since the beginning of the month, and you continue to be in a phase where you can accomplish huge tasks and make an enormous amount of progress. Yet there’s no denying that Pluto is a challenge, so if instead, you feel you have been making a long day’s journey into night, do your best to see the good that is coming out of your trials and tribulations. What is not an OK policy at the moment is resisting change and trying to force others to take a path that they simply do not want to go along. All right, you may seek closure and offer your advice, but this is one of those periods when acquiescing to the status quo gives you dignity and peace of mind.

21st June 2004 - 27th June 2004

Order should now be emerging out of the chaos. Whatever the past few weeks have brought in the way of derailed plans and unexpected detours, you now have an opportunity to reflect on the whys and wherefores and establish what benefits have emerged from it all. Little Mercury comes to your aid this week, encouraging communications with individuals who and organizations that could help you, and for some Virgos, a recent upset can be set to rights. There is also a high focus on social events and meetings with like-minded people, making this latter part of June a time when you can build bridges and cement alliances.

28th June 2004 - 4th July 2004

Venus’s passage through the area of career and life-direction helps you make progress with personal and professional ambitions - that is, unless she is retrograde. For the past six weeks this planet has indeed been moving backwards, thereby impeding the success of your business endeavours, and possibly hindering the course of true love too. On the 29th Venus rights herself, so between now and early August you may well see a plan back on track and someone who has been less than impressed giving you his or her unequivocal support. Friday’s full moon signals the end of a gestation period, thus setting the stage for a birth of some description before September.

5th July 2004 - 11th July 2004

Sun-Saturn get-togethers are hardly the stuff of lightness and mirth but they can serve a useful purpose, as you may well discover this week. It may be that someone has been acting strangely or that a project has had a giant question-mark hovering over it, in which case you could get some answers now. There is also a chance that someone will let you down or prove to be a bit of a burden. However, whatever comes in the shape of a moment of truth, you stand to make a gain. It’s always good to know what people are made of and which situations are worth all the effort and faith you have expended, and even if a celebration is not exactly in order, knowing where you stand empowers you.

12th July 2004 - 18th July 2004

This is the ideal week in which to shut out the material world and focus on things of the heart, mind and spirit. However, since you may not be able to walk away from your responsibilities what you need to do instead is have plenty of rest and relaxation, and avoid people and situations that stress you out. You should also take a very philosophical view of what is going on. Life can sometimes turn out to be stranger than fiction, and under these stars what seems unreal now may have a perfectly satisfactory explanation in the future. Therefore, the less you do the better. Saturday’s new moon helps you make a fresh start, and it may also take a romance, friendship or working association onto a whole new level.

19th July 2004 - 25th July 2004

At the beginning of May Venus and Pluto opposed each other, thereby bringing one or more situations to crunch point. Now these two planets meet again, resurrecting ancient history and/or encouraging you to reach into the past for guidance. The life-direction axis is in the frame here, so while some Virgos - especially those with 12th September birthdays - will be facing a junction in their career, others will be experiencing considerable change on the home front. Fortunately, Jupiter continues to support you in the long-term, so whether you’re ready to open the champagne or feeling like throwing in the towel, some months down the line, you will be back on terra firma once more.

26th July 2004 - 1st August 2004

Between now and the end of August Uranus - the awakener and liberator of the planets - will be active in your chart, especially if you have a late August birthday. Perhaps you are already looking forward to a change of surroundings or some other unusual and exciting event but if your diary is empty, and you fall into this birthday group, by September some aspect of your life could have changed beyond recognition. This week marks the first port of call for Uranus, so it may be that a conversation or meeting sparks this process of life-change: on the other hand, you may simply feel that you have been sacrificing your needs and wants for everyone else - especially a partner - and it is time you set the record straight.

2nd August 2004 - 8th August 2004

With the sun tucked away in the most secluded part of your solar chart you are more than ready for a holiday, or at least a few days off from the rat race. However, if you have to keep the world turning because everyone else is AOL (away-on-leave) bear in mind that you’re not your usual razor-sharp self. Normally, you would spot an untruth a mile away, but you are far more sensitive and impressionable now, so don’t be afraid to give someone the third degree or to double check information reaching you, even from usually reliable sources. On the plus side, this is an ideal period to pursue spiritual and artistic interests: you may even feel that you have a soul connection with someone.

9th August 2004 - 15th August 2004

Situations may not be making much sense at the moment, so rather than force yourself into making a decision, take some time out. It seems more water has to flow under the proverbial bridge, so jumping to a conclusion would be counter-productive. This having been said, Mars’s arrival in your sign (10th) will tend to make you more ambitious and assertive, so you must try not to go on the attack the moment someone unintentionally injures you or something appears to be heading in the wrong direction. If you sense a problem, do not try to put it right yet: gather your information, check your resources, then wait until you are truly ready to make your move. For now, a wait and see policy is by far the best.

16th August 2004 - 22nd August 2004

This is one exciting week, especially if your birthday falls on or near 27th August. Of one thing you can be sure, someone or something will astound you. At the very least, during the next few days you should be prepared to change an opinion or two and implement a new routine, but at best you could be making a move that promises to change an aspect of your life. As one of the mutable signs, you should be adaptable and open to change, but your earthy nature relishes the comfort of the old and the familiar: at this time, you are being urged to see what belief, habit or relationship is getting in the way of your growth and prosperity, and if you are not ready to abandon ship, so to speak, you should take note of any writing on the wall.

23rd August 2004 - 29th August 2004

The second half of August is turning out to be a highly Uranian period - and if you've no idea what Uranus is all about, try recalling the last time someone made you feel truly alive or the moment when what you believed was unchanging and unchangeable turned out to be all too fluid! Especially if you have a birthday this week, you are being encouraged to make moves that will help you fulfil your dreams, if not your destiny. However, if you have turned a blind eye to your true needs and you are stubbornly heading in an inappropriate direction, Uranus will find a way of re-routing you. And for some Virgos this happens in the next few days, and in a very unexpected way.

30th August 2004 - 5th September 2004

Thanks to Mercury's return to normal service, you too should be coming back to reality and being made aware of some previously unknown facts and figures. Monday morning may well produce the first disclosure of the week, and this is probably not the day upon which to tell the boss what he can do with his job, or the moment to make any kind of threat, unless you can live with the consequences! What comes into the public arena now, may well prove to be entirely conducive to your happiness and success but just in case you sense that a situation is not heading in the direction you would wish, this is the time to make contingency plans and to talk to the right people.

6th September 2004 - 12th September 2004

Well, it doesn't get more exciting than this. The sun and Mars in your sign give you energy, ambition and courage so, if you've been standing on that diving board, waiting to jump in the deep end, what are you waiting for? You may have to accept that a decision you make now is not going to be very popular with certain people, but the issue here is whether you intend to allow others to live your life for you, or whether you're in charge of your own destiny. You cannot please all the people all of the time. And even if the events of early September appear to be against your wishes and hopes, this could be the cosmos giving you a huge helping hand to get on track with your ambitions and dreams.

13th September 2004 - 19th September 2004

This is both an exciting and unsettling few days. Lively Uranus brings you a surprise while assertive Mars gives you courage and confidence. To add to the fun, Tuesday's new moon in Virgo signals a phase in which you can add to your lot whether in the sense of personal growth or real-life achievements. Nevertheless, especially if you have a late August birthday, events beyond your control may continue to dictate your course so you will need to be flexible in your expectations and philosophical about people who prove unreliable, even downright disloyal. Since Uranus is in charge of relationships for the present, people come and go with the speed and unpredictability of a late summer storm.

20th September 2004 - 26th September 2004

This is a big week in the Virgo camp. On the 25th, Jupiter enters the zone of self-worth for a year-long stay, during which time you stand to add to your stock, whether in terms of personal fulfilment or wealth. And for some Virgos, especially those with birthdays this week, there will be evidence of such benefits before the end of September. This has been a month of severe ups and downs, but this week's powerful alignments bring an end to this pattern: indeed, Wednesday's sun-Jupiter conjunction is the epitome of success and celebration. You might like to consider these recent weeks to have been a time of transition, so even if the external aspects of your life remain the same, you as a person will have changed.

27th September 2004 - 3rd October 2004

This Jupiterian climate breeds extravagance and confidence - just the qualities you need to make a financial investment or a gesture of good faith. And while you may be concerned about the amount of money being spent, or the degree of faith you must have in a project or an association, sometimes you simply have to put your money where your mouth is! On Sunday, Venus will enter your sign for a four-week stay, so you are on the threshold of one of the most favourable periods of the year. Therefore, if Jupiter is inflating a problem, a resolution may not be too far away, and there should be compensations for any losses or set-backs. Indeed, Venus and her principle of love and unity could shortly work a minor miracle.

4th October 2004 - 10th October 2004

Venus has only just entered your sign, so you have several weeks in which to experience her principles of beauty and unity. And this you should keep in the forefront of your mind should Uranus upset the applecart this week. It is the late August birthdays who are in the centre of Uranian developments this year, and this is another of those times when you can bring about much wanted change, especially in regard to your relationship life. On the other hand, you may find that other people are the agents of change for you, whether you suddenly fall in love or whether someone decides to go his or her own sweet way. You are a wise and thoughtful sign - don't rush to judgment now: the story is not yet over.

11th October 2004 - 17th October 2004

You can accomplish great things in an astrological climate like this, and even if other people aren't giving you compliments or large cheques, your own sense of achievement should serve as a reward. Thursday's solar eclipse brings a new element into play regarding your financial situation, but while some Virgos may have to rethink their spending policy because of a job development others will be making a large investment in their future. The week ahead may not be a breeze exactly - and you must expect any negotiations, especially financial ones, to be tough - but what you achieve will be solid and durable.

18th October 2004 - 24th October 2004

While Venus wings her way through your sign, life can be highly pleasurable and successful, but depending upon the other planets she encounters life can also produce the occasional pothole, as may be the case this week. On Wednesday, Venus meets Pluto, thus raising passions and creating a climate of confrontation. Of course, a passionate exchange can be a wonderful thing but just in case you're not in the throes of a story-book romance, be a little careful how you handle partners and those people you need on your side. Not for the first time this year has Pluto shown you the best and worst in life, love and the rest, so, especially if you have a mid-September birthday, be on your best behaviour.

25th October 2004 - 31st October 2004

You may not have concrete evidence that you are gaining ground but since September signs of growth have been appearing in the astrology. Hopefully, you have seen improvements in your financial situation, or, perhaps, a relationship has blossomed, but if you seem to be stuck in the same dreary rut, the combination of Uranus and a total lunar eclipse could now make a huge difference. You may prefer to have people approach you with invitations and suggestions but if you want to bring about positive change, you yourself are going to have to make it happen. With this in mind, make that phone call, write that letter - do whatever you have to do to wake others up to the fact that you mean business!

1st November 2004 - 7th November 2004

You are either at your inspired best this week - making brilliant decisions on the spur of the moment - or you are in conflict about which way to turn, and just why a situation has changed, and virtually overnight. In a way, what is happening at the moment has been building for some time, and even if you do not recognize this now, you will come to do so once all the facts have been disclosed. I wouldn't say that there is nothing you can do about matters, but I would recommend taking a step back and waiting until you are sure what is real and what is gossip or illusion. This is a time to let others lose their heads, while you keep yours.

8th November 2004 - 14th November 2004

This week's stars are all about communications - how you say it, to whom you say it, and how far you'll go to make your point, or make something happen. Mercury, the master of communication, is perfectly placed to bring clarity and consensus where previously there were misunderstandings and hard feelings. Difficult as it may be, this is the moment to set pride aside and show you are willing to change your mind, or at least discuss a new way forward. This is also an excellent week to seek promotion or to talk about your future with an employer or someone who has influence over your financial affairs. Don't wait for others to make the first move - take the initiative and take control.

15th November 2004 - 21st November 2004

With the right actions you can turn this week's events to your advantage, and on this occasion the right action implies looking at the facts and not letting your emotions run away with you. At this time it is appropriate to streamline your life, and to at least take notice of what things could and should be cut back in the future. It may also be a time when you are making structural alterations on home or work territory, so that you are getting rid of clutter and debris, and looking at your surroundings with a new pair of eyes. This may not be the easiest weeks on record, but it could be considered enlightening and liberating.

22nd November 2004 - 28th November 2004

Just when you thought it was safe to come out of the kitchen... Yes, this is one of those periods when Uranus, the Cosmic Joker, is in charge so there are all sorts of unforeseen twists and turns to events. Friday's full moon is an indication of the end of a chapter, either in regard to your role in life or on the home front. This is both a good time to move to a new location, and to initiate sweeping changes, however, it is not a good time to make a radical decision in the heat of the moment. You may also find that a partner, or someone to whom you are close, experiences a change in his or her life, in which case going off the deep end is not an appropriate response!

29th November 2004 - 5th December 2004

On the 30th, Master Communicator, Mercury, turns retrograde and will continue to head backwards creating all manner of travel and information glitches until the 20th December. Hopefully, you are so far ahead with your plans that nothing will interfere with them, but just on the off chance that there is an individual or an organization you need to be in touch with before Christmas, make sure you set the wheels in motion on Monday. Not only Mercury but also Neptune joins in the fun, making life very blurry indeed. Do not rely on other people to carry out your orders or fulfil their promises, and under no circumstances believe everything you are told.

Don't leave anything to chance.

6th December 2004 - 12th December 2004

There are echoes of mid-September about this week's alignments. You may be about to see the results of a decision taken some three months ago, or a seemingly out of the blue development will have its seeds in that same period. Certainly, the past plays a big part in current events. Especially if you have a 9th - 14th September birthday you have an opportunity to resolve an ancient problem and to begin anew, and whenever you were born, a trip down memory lane could prove very revealing. Making a big change on the home front would be appropriate now, as would eliminating aspects of your existence that have exceeded their natural life-span.

Creating a vacuum.

13th December 2004 - 19th December 2004

In mid-September Pluto and Uranus played a big part in revealing to you an important truth, and subsequently you may well have made a big life-change. However, if you decided to give a situation a little more time to develop fully the moment has come to reconsider that radical move. Especially if you have a birthday on or near the 27th August or 12th September, events of early-to-mid December have an echo of September about them, and this is certainly not the week to put a pretty veneer on a situation that is rotten at the core, or at least in need of some major surgery. On another level altogether these current alignments help you to clear the decks in preparation of happy events to come.

Creating space.

20th December 2004 - 26th December 2004

There are two reason to ring out the Christmas bells: first, ruler, Mercury turns direct, thus ironing out all the wrinkles in travel and communications, and second, the sun arrives in the fifth house of your horoscope, thereby bringing out your innate sense of fun and positively influencing all kinds of creative endeavours. However, the main focus of these stars continues to be home and family: on the one hand you may be happily surrounded by your nearest and dearest for the festivities, but, on the other, your efforts to please all and sundry could interfere with your own enjoyment of events. Relax, and focus on what really matters - love in all its many aspects.

Peace and love.

27th December 2004 - 2nd January 2005

Whatever your ideas may be for the next ten days, be assured they will be different from the reality. Now, this doesn't mean you should abandon all your plans, but it does indicate that a very flexible and tolerant attitude is the right one to have. Other people may change their minds at the last moment, and circumstances beyond your control could interfere with blueprints and timetables. There is also a chance, especially if you have a late August or mid-September birthday, that you will find the courage and assertiveness to do what you want to do, rather than supporting the selfish interests of others. By complete contrast, you could be swept off your feet by someone now.

Anything goes !

3rd January 2005 - 9th January 2005

You may find that the events of early January are linked to those of mid-December or that what was just a wisp of an idea some weeks ago now becomes a solid reality. Ideally, you should use these powerful influences to bring something new into being and to sweep away unwanted remnants of the past. However, the planets cannot always be relied upon to do our bidding, and what may happen instead is that events conspire to set you on a whole new set of tracks. Making a radical change on the home front is appropriate at this time, and however the new comes in or whoever brings it about should be welcomed with open arms.

Staring over - again.

10th January 2005 - 16th January 2005

Pluto may well have stirred up the sediment last week but at least, under these more rational aspects, you should be able to gain clarity and reach some sensible understandings. Another plus to these influences is that you can bring something concrete into being, whether this translates as the birth of a new endeavour or the acceptance of a legally binding commitment. Saturn requires effort and adherence to rules and formality, and as long as you keep on the straight and narrow and maintain your integrity all will be well. What you should not do is over-emphasize the negative and bring an end to something that still has life in it.

Bringing order out of chaos.

17th January 2005 - 23rd January 2005

If financial matters have been somewhat sluggish, and you appear to have made little progress with your endeavours, at last the planets get their act together and speed your course. This is an especially good period for property matters, and for taking actions intended to improve your home and future security; it is also an ideal time to invest in your talents and to put your money where your mouth is, so to speak. There has been a dearth of happy influences during the past three weeks, and should you have suffered a setback or simply felt that you would never achieve a goal, these growth-oriented aspects could do much to right the balance.

A change of gear.

24th January 2005 - 30th January 2005

An earth sign like yourself works well with Saturn - you have the common sense and clarity to separate the wheat from the chaff and fact from fiction. Indeed, other people need your clear perception now, since simmering problems may bubble over into full-blown dramas this week. Part of the problem may simply be that everything looks rather grey and bleak under this astro-scape, so a little homespun optimism will go a long way, but if a serious obstacle appears avoid making a knee-jerk response and wait until the dust has settled. You can fulfil a plan that has been in the making for some months, even years, now yet you may also feel that you are powerless in the face of decisions and actions taken by others.

Give it time.

31st January 2005 - 6th February 2005

We are in Neptune country this week, which means the terrain will be marshy and the climate foggy. On the one hand, this would be an ideal time to take a break from the rat race and to focus on things of the heart and spirit; you may also benefit from a health check up or some healing work. On the other hand, it is not the best moment to expect unambiguous results and solid progress. Thanks to Neptune the rumour mill is in overdrive and truth in short supply, however, given this knowledge you will experience no difficulty in separating fact from fiction and sorting out the good guys from the bad guys. Or will you?

A confusing week.

7th February 2005 - 13th February 2005

If only the cosmos could always be like this. Whatever your reservations about making the first move, or however uncertain you feel about someone's response to your action, to do nothing would be disappointing to say the least: it's time to go for broke. Technically, these expansive influences are focused on the area of work, making this an ideal moment to seek a salary increase or a job promotion but whatever your dreams and ambitions these alignments represent the raft that takes you there. And if you have had something of a difficult start to 2005, events of the next couple of weeks could turn life around, and at the very minimum they'll make a positive difference to your outlook.

Jumping in the deep end.

14th February 2005 - 20th February 2005

The sun and Mercury swing into the zone of love and relating setting the stage for a season of relationship highs and lows - the first of which may well take place this weekend. There is an aura of excitement - or is it anxiety? - in your stars, which means that while some Virgos, especially those with August birthdays, are about to marry or meet someone who will knock their socks off, others are poised to terminate a romance, or at least make a strong statement of disaffection. Nonetheless, even in the event of a romantic setback you'll gain more than you lose, and I'm tempted to remind you of the saying: it's not over 'til the fat lady sings.

Surprise, surprise!

21st February 2005 - 27th February 2005

This is one of the more important weeks of 2005. First, the only full moon in your sign this year takes place on Thursday then, trendsetter Uranus makes an appearance, so forget routine and rules and set yourself in anything-goes mode. A relationship is likely to be at the centre of any controversy or epoch-making development, especially if your birthday falls in late August. Certainly, if you meet someone under these extraordinary stars the relationship could change your life. As per usual, however, with anything of a Uranian nature, those things that are not built of solid and lasting material do tend to buckle, so this is not the week to issue a threat or an ultimatum without being able to carry it through.

Memories are made of this.

28th February 2005 - 7th March 2005

Is this the most exciting week ever, or just another of those periods when situations turn ever so slightly pear-shaped? Of one thing you can be sure, those rumours about Virgos being the quiet mice of the zodiac are entirely unfounded - you should be the talk of the town! The personal planets are gathered in the area of relationships, making this a week of surprises and conclusions. New relationships are born under such stars and old alliances come to an end - possibly in a sudden and impressive way. You won't be able to predict the actions of others now, although what takes place will have been in the pipeline for some time.

Reaching conclusions.

7th March 2005 - 13th March 2005

If you have been complaining that a situation is all to fluid or that you can get no sensible answers from certain people, you're about to see the light. Saturn is here to bring order out of chaos and to show us the reality as opposed to the fantasy. On the plus side, you can bring something solid into being now, and you'll certainly know exactly what and who you are dealing with, but on the minus side a defect could appear that puts an endeavour in a less than positive light. My advice is to put emotions to one side and focus on the practicalities - even if it is a relationship matter. That way, you may discover that there is a workable solution after all.

Finding alternatives.

14th March 2005 - 20th March 2005

Not since September have there been such powerful influences at work in your relationship life, especially if your birthday falls between the 12th and 16th of September. Every planet has a positive and negative role to play in our lives, so on the plus side Pluto could preside over a romantic or business merger that will change your life for the better or you may reach the end of your tether with a personal or professional association. And even if neither of these scenarios comes about precisely, events at this time could precipitate such developments in the future. There is nothing lightweight or superficial about this week's stars: they touch you at the core of your being.

Taking a big step.

21st March 2005 - 27th March 2005

With the sun currently residing in the most introspective zone of your horoscope, you may be preoccupied with matters that you feel other people cannot understand or share with you. However, you are entirely wrong. Partners in particular and other people in general could help with complex issues, especially if you believe they are partly, or even wholly, responsible for them. With Venus, the planet of love, entering this same chart area on Tuesday, even the darkest and most painful matter can be resolved and certainly improved. Love is the answer here, not silence and accusatory looks! Talk things through lovingly and with an open mind, and watch those barriers come down. You are not alone.

Time to share.

28th March 2005 - 3rd April 2005

Jupiter never hides its golden light under a bushel so you can be sure whatever emerges now in the way of news, activities and opportunities will be radiant, it will add to your lot. It is the area of financial and emotional exchange that is basking in this Jupiterian glow, making this an excellent time to take a large leap of faith, first and foremost in terms of money and, second regarding your love life. Under these stars, small is not beautiful but big is absolutely fabulous. Have the courage to make an investment, and at the very least you'll have added to your bank of experience but at best you could be about to make a proverbial killing.

Faith backed action.

1st April 2005 - 30th April 2005

4th April 2005 - 10th April 2005

Mercury may not yet have turned direct, thereby ironing out the wrinkles in communications but other factors are helping bring reason to bear. Sometimes using broad-brush strokes is the best way to view a situation but at this time, the more research you can perform and the more detail you can find, the better. A financial matter looks to be the principle reason for any close scrutiny and any subsequent cut back, but it may also be that emotions have got in the way of clear communications in a relationship, therefore a withdrawal, albeit temporarily, could provide the answer. For the moment, allow the other person to have his/her say: time and analysis will do the rest.

Pause for thought.

11th April 2005 - 17th April 2005

If it weren't for the presence of muddle-maker Neptune, this would be a straight-forward, easy-going week. Indeed, with Mercury turning direct people who and organizations that have been out of touch could get back to you, and with a positive response. And getting from A to B in the sense of travel and understandings should be a piece of cake. But, oh, that troublesome Neptune. . . My advice is to remain confident and to proceed with your plans but to be aware that not everything that people say is the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Also, keep checking and re-checking arrangements, and have more than one back-up system at the ready.

Don't trust to luck.

18th April 2005 - 24th April 2005

On the 20th, the sun enters your fellow earth sign, Taurus, thereby increasing the level of harmony in your life, and making any recent issues, particularly over money, seem less of a burden. Indeed, from this point you should sense life opening up for you: travel may become more of a feature and you will be more focused on long-term plans, as opposed to short-term interests. In effect a more laid-back, philosophical and optimistic you is emerging. Whether or not Sunday's eclipsed full moon adds to this sense of joy and expansion rather depends, but it may well set the stage for an important discussion or journey, one intended to take you into new and untrammelled territory.

Crossing frontiers.

25th April 2005 - 1st May 2005

Isn't it about time you stopped giving your all to other people and spoiled yourself? There is an element of self-indulgence about these aspects, which needs to be overcome by some members of the zodiac but not caring, responsible, dedicated and hard-working Virgo. Aside from a spend-fest in the high street, you could be digging deep into your pockets for a major investment; there could also be talks aimed at giving you more money or enabling your income to go further. While I don't want to encourage you to get in over your head, maybe you do need to remind yourself that sometimes taking a risk is the only way to get where you want to go.

Making gains.

2nd May 2005 - 8th May 2005

Getting all the pieces of the puzzle to fit together could be this week's biggest challenge. There is a degree of confusion surrounding events, and even you with your fine mind and penchant for detail could fail to make two and two add up to four. Where affairs of the heart are concerned, you should follow your feelings, but where finances and matters with legal overtones are involved, hold back until you know all the facts, and have taken expert advice. You could have reason to feel very optimistic about the events of early to mid-May; on the other hand, there is a slight danger that what seems a great idea today will turn out to be a mistake in time to come.

Getting the facts.

9th May 2005 - 15th May 2005

Think back to the end of February - was there a change in your life then, and was a relationship part of the equation? If so, there could be a connection to those events this week. Mars has just begun its transit of the zone of love and relating so there are still six weeks of action-packed developments to come, however, this sexy planet hooks up to Uranus over the weekend, creating some fiery sparks. As usual, there are at least two ways of viewing this juice-some twosome - on the one hand, a sudden surge of romance with someone new, or a reawakening of passion with a long-time love, and, on the other hand, a development that could rock a relationship to its foundations.

A roller-coaster ride.

16th May 2005 - 22nd May 2005

If you have been complaining that life never changes, prepare to eat your words. This mid-May period is full of Uranian sparks, guaranteed to set the rumour mill grinding and wake up a slumbering giant of a situation. Other people are almost certainly going to be the cause of controversy, whether you watch in amazement from the safety of the wings, or because someone's actions have an impact on your life. Uranus is not known as the Great Awakener for nothing: it is this planet's job to evoke dormant feelings and abilities, and this planet's role to prevent us from following a course that is either redundant or potentially damaging. Food for thought, eh.

A breath of fresh air.

23rd May 2005 - 29th May 2005

With the sun now transiting the most ambitious zone of your chart, you may sense the wind in your sails. The period of 20 May-15 June is one of the most dynamic and eventful of 2005, and you may just understand why this week. Especially if you have a mid-September birthday opportunities to shed a piece of your past in order to carve a new path for yourself should arise during this four-week period. First and foremost this trend applies to your career and role in life, and, second, to your home. Ideally, you need to take a proactive stance here, pre-empting moves made by others, and thereby gaining control of the situation.

Time to get moving and motoring.

30th May 2005 - 5th June 2005

Just when you were getting used to the sedate pace of life, along come Uranus and Pluto to shake up the tempo and rhythm. And this may be a polite way of describing the ups and downs of the next few days. These two planets are gradually changing the shape of your life, particularly your relationships, but what happens this week, especially if you have an early or mid-September birthday, could amount to an abrupt and dramatic transformation. It could be time to awaken to feelings that have been lying dormant for some while, or it might be the right moment to put into action ideas you have been formulating for months, if not years.

Get ready, get set, go!

6th June 2005 - 12th June 2005

This is a tricky part of the year, and one when you'll need to use that fine mind of yours and that brand of quiet courage. It may be that you are happily expecting to start a new phase of your life yet there are still some anxieties about leaving behind the old and the familiar. On the other hand, you could be about to have a change thrust upon you, which will upset your comfort level and raise concerns about your future. And this is especially so should you have a mid-September birthday. Use that aforementioned courage to accept what cannot be changed and that intelligence and ingenuity to see that a new route is not only right in front of you, but that this one will take you where you want to go.

Luck comes through strength.

13th June 2005 - 19th June 2005

This period of the year bears more than a passing resemblance to March, by which I mean that current events are similar to those of early-to-mid March or they are directly related. On the one hand, plans come to fruition now, and, on the other, an issue that has been lying low, so to speak, surfaces and positively demands to be dealt with. This is an ideal week in which to make a major life change or to throw out a piece of the past in order for the new to take root. This may not be the easiest of times but by working with events as opposed to fighting them, you will not only regain your serenity but you will see the purpose and benefits of all that is happening all the sooner.

Go with the flow.

20th June 2005 - 26th June 2005

With the Plutonic storms of the past few weeks fading away you can now turn your attention to the lighter side of life. Friends and social events look to be the source of happiness, and some Virgos could be about to welcome new life into the world, whether in the literal or figurative sense. The weekend puts exultant Jupiter and sombre Saturn in the frame - perfect for making a serious commitment, after which the champagne corks will be a-popping. But should you meet with a difficulty or find yourself estranged from a colleague or loved one, remind yourself that time heals all wounds, and eventually you will understand why.

Mixed blessings.

27th June 2005 - 3rd July 2005

From its position in the area of love and relating Uranus can be a bit of a bother: this planet is excitable, bringing about sudden attractions and equally sudden separations. However, this week Uranus is all lightness and mirth. People you meet for business and pleasure could open up new directions for you, and this is certainly the time to stretch the boundaries of your experience and try something completely different. There's also some money to be made or an opportunity for you to boost your self-esteem. And, should a relationship appear to be changing gear, don't head into panic mode but take a step back and watch from the sidelines.

New territory.

4th July 2005 - 10th July 2005

You could be more introspective than usual or you may need to shut out the external world in order the focus on things of a romantic or spiritual nature. Whatever the case, this is not a time to be putting pressure on yourself or trying to force situations to go in the direction you want. Indeed, there is something to be said for allowing people to go their own sweet way and waiting to see how events will unfold left to their own devices. A new personal or professional connection could be on its way, or a new endeavour may be about to spring forth. And although this isn't exactly a dream of an astro-scape it could get you thinking about bringing a dream into reality.

Take the pedal off the metal.

11th July 2005 - 17th July 2005

The areas of home, finance and collaboration are beautifully aligned. On the one hand, the purchase or sale of a property could take place and on the other, an event on home territory could be a cause to push the boat out in financial and celebratory terms. This mid-July period is highly auspicious and even if you have no planned event in the diary, situations may arise that will turn out to be profitable and enjoyable. Certainly, you should consider changing that notion of yours that good things only happen to other people. Have the courage of your convictions and believe the best of people and events - they won't disappoint you.

Happy days.

18th July 2005 - 24th July 2005

The sun is temporarily occluded by a Saturnian cloud, however this is a temporary chill and one aimed at helping you make some necessary improvements. It is possible that someone has developed cold feet or seems to be distancing himself/herself from you; then again, you yourself could feel less than enamoured about a situation. While it is tempting to try to sort out matters immediately, with Mercury - the planet of communication - heading into reverse on Saturday it might be better to put things on ice for a few short weeks. On the plus side, the lovely Venus enters your sign on the 23rd all set to bring a little more love and sparkle to life.

Take a step back.

25th July 2005 - 31st July 2005

There is excitement in the air. As Venus and Uranus draw ever closer to each other, life, or rather love, is about to give you a surprise. This planetary couple act like Cupid on a mischievous day, throwing two people together who are either totally different or who have previously had no feelings for each other: by contrast this double act can create a ripples in a relationship that threaten to develop into a major sea-storm. My advice is to wait until a situation has settled down and all the facts have emerged before heading for the escape hatch, but should the irresistible object appear on your doorstep, perhaps this is one temptation you cannot resist.

Surprise, surprise.

1st August 2005 - 7th August 2005

You enjoy a reputation as the zodiac's clearest thinker, but you cannot afford to rest on your laurels during the next ten days. Not only is there a cluster of planets in the occluded twelfth house but also communication CEO, Mercury, is under Neptune's illusory influence. While you may have a dream of an experience to look forward to, you should keep a close eye on your affairs, especially those of a financial or romantic nature. It will be all too easy to respond to the voice of your hopes or fears, thus information reaching you should be scrutinized to within an inch of its life! Once into the second half of August you will be able to trust your instincts and your information again.

Appearances are deceptive.

8th August 2005 - 14th August 2005

For the past couple of weeks Venus has been transiting your sign so hopefully you have enjoyed some success and happiness or seen a turn-around in your love life. Now this loving planet hooks up to depth-charged, Pluto, inviting a passionate encounter or setting the stage for a confrontation. Your powers of analysis are excellent, as is your ability to discriminate between truth and falsehood, but now you need to allow your feelings to speak, regardless of how irrational or intense they may be. You are in the driver's seat and capable of changing the course of a business or romantic association - don't back down and don't underestimate yourself.

Trust your feelings.

15th August 2005 - 21st August 2005

You are not quite out of the woods where information is concerned, but you are beginning to see the way forward. Since the beginning of August, you have not been able to see the truth for all the rumour and innuendo, and you yourself may have felt divided on a matter, but gradually the pieces of the puzzle are beginning to fit together. With this in mind, avoid making a judgment for a little while longer - Friday's full moon could intensify emotions and turn a minor issue into a full-blown drama, therefore a cool and detached stance is to everyone's advantage. As for the weekend, with Uranus in charge, expect the unexpected.

Keep your distance.

22nd August 2005 - 28th August 2005

Have you ever been caught up in a dense fog? Your sense of where precisely you are is compromised and the commonest object assumes the strangest proportions. Well, this is a perfect metaphor for this week's astrology. The appearance of situations is deceptive, leading to false conclusions and a deep sense of confusion. Alternatively, your heart could be beating like a kettle-drum due to a new relationship. Of course you should enjoy the thrill of new feelings, which may well turn out to be true love, but if instead you are trying to make a decision about a financial or practical matter, your best bet is to leave well alone for a short while.

Time will tell.

29th August 2005 - 4th September 2005

Saturday's new moon in Virgo sets a new year-long cycle in motion: events that take place between now and mid-September should be seen as the springboard to a fresh stage of your life, and with Uranus in the mix the way the new comes in could be unexpected and fast. Especially if you have a birthday this week, the unconventional and the unusual should be embraced, and even if this does mean you'll be rocking the boat, remember it's your life, and your feelings and talents should not be compromised because other people do not approve. One day, what currently seems so different, possibly unwelcome, will be the norm.

Make waves.

5th September 2005 - 11th September 2005

Logic and tedium have no place in this Uranian climate - events have a life of their own and you will be hard pressed to understand the actions of other people or the vicissitudes of situations. For some Virgos, this is a time of wonderful developments - sudden offers and proposals or opportunities to experience new and life-enhancing activities - yet others could be forgiven for wondering where the next bombshell is coming from. Either way, of course, you will be embarking on a fresh path, one that will encourage you to grow and ultimately to prosper. By the end of September what currently appears to be in a huge state of flux will have settled down and equilibrium will have been regained.

A storm in a tea-cup?

12th September 2005 - 18th September 2005

These alignments hark back to those of an earlier time so you may be able to link the events of this period directly to those of mid-March or mid-June. Certainly, this is a week when elements of the past reappear with a view to sewing up any loose ends, and it is also a time when preparations reach culmination. Perhaps you have been dealing with an on-going situation and avoiding taking a radical action in the hope that circumstances would do the job for you, or maybe you have been ignorant of a state of affairs and now the reality is exposed. These influences are far from easy, yet nothing that is truly worthwhile is ever achieved without effort.

Finding out...

19th September 2005 - 25th September 2005

September's stars may have left much to be desired thus far but you should be able to glimpse that light at the end of the tunnel by the end of this week. The emphasis shifts from dealing with situations as they unfold to coming to terms with them and finding resolution, if not a sense of peace. Also, finances are beginning to play a bigger role in life, whether you are about to make a large purchase/investment or whether the time has come to renegotiate a salary or a monetary commitment. Jupiter has roughly a month left in which to up your value so waste no time crying over spilt milk, and put on your hustle and bustle boots!

Upping your stock.

26th September 2005 - 2nd October 2005

Most of the time, facts and figures speak louder than estimations and intuitions but this week giving people the benefit of the doubt and plenty of wiggle room will pay off handsomely. A gentle link between Mercury in the zone of finances and Neptune in the work area helps ease the wheels of commerce, and for some Virgos, may even produce a dream of an offer. By contrast, should you experience a set-back, you will almost certainly find that it is a blessing in disguise. September has been a difficult month on the whole, but as October comes in, you are facing a new horizon with all the attendant properties of fresh starts and hope-inrpired actions.

All's for the best.

3rd October 2005 - 9th October 2005

The week opens on an impressive note with a solar eclipse in the area of finances and self worth. Add to this a conjunction between Mercury and Jupiter, and you could be looking at a windfall and/or an ego boost. October is going to be a month of opportunity, and while you could just sit back and wait to see what happens, my advice is to use these aspects as a tail wind, launching an ambition or two for yourself. Property matters are especially favoured now, as are business schemes and financial investments. If I do have a quibble with this astro-scape it is that you could bite off more than you can chew - then again, no one ever got anywhere without taking a risk.

Weighing anchor.

10th October 2005 - 16th October 2005

It has been roughly a month since Uranus made a guest appearance, so you may be well overdue for a breath of fresh air, and a new take on life and love. Or not, as the case may be... This quirky planet has a reputation for inspiring situations to perform 180 degree turns, and generally to make mincemeat of your plans. Once again it is the early September birthdays whom can expect the best and worst of these capricious influences, whether you suddenly decide that you have waited long enough, done too much to please other people and finally get the courage to follow your heart, or whether a partner or associate withdraws from you for no apparent reason.

No rhyme or reason...

17th October 2005 - 23rd October 2005

The money sector of your chart has been the focus for much of this month's astral activity, and now a combination of larger-than-life Jupiter and a lunar eclipse announce the ending of a major financial cycle. This may result in a large outgoing from your bank account or an impressive gain; on the other hand your self-esteem could be the focus for a credit or debit. Put another way, an individual or an organization could reward you for your talents and hard work or you might be on the receiving end of an offer that you simply cannot refuse. Investments made now stand to make you richer one way or another.

Making gains.

24th October 2005 - 30th October 2005

If you have been complaining that you never go anywhere, Jupiter's entry into the zone of travel and communications could be about to make all the difference. During the coming year you may well travel further and more often than you have in the past ten - and you will certainly benefit from opening your mind to people, places and interests of a foreign nature. And this is a good thought to hang onto should Saturday's Venus-Pluto conjunction cause a little trouble in paradise. Feelings run high when these two planets are doing the tango, so try to gloss over any small crimes, misdemeanours and disappointments - tomorrow is another day.

Taking events in your stride.

31st October 2005 - 6th November 2005

You may feel caught between the devil and the deep blue sea at the moment - do you stay where you are or head in a new and untried direction? This dilemma is caused by Saturn who is urging you to accept your responsibilities and hold with tradition while Uranus is tweaking your desire for independence and innovation. You may prefer to leave a decision for a while and wait for someone else to make the first move, but according to your stars, you should be the one to take the initiative and perform a leap in the dark. Now, I am not urging you to take a risk with life, limb and your savings but I am encouraging you to recognize when fear masking as loyalty is holding you back...

Are you in or out?

7th November 2005 - 13th November 2005

This is a rather confusing period of the year so don't be too hard on yourself if you feel deeply in doubt about a situation, and try not to put too much pressure on others to make a definitive move. Consider this to be a state of transition - you cannot go back, the way forward is not clear, yet there is movement. Information reaching you could prove faulty and this is one week when rumours should be dismissed and negative comments ignored. What you can do is check that people have received your messages and that you have filled out forms or responded correctly to questions raised by organizations. One step at a time, eh.

Feeling your way.

14th November 2005 - 20th November 2005

Retrograde Mercury can be likened to an infection, once it starts it spreads everywhere! Top of the list for delays and diversions is travel, and making contact with people at home and abroad could prove time consuming and frustrating. Add to this a full moon on the axis of travel and communications and you face a week in which a plan may have to be aborted and misunderstandings and missteps proliferate. At this point it would be sensible to bring a halt to a situation that you have misgivings about, and should you sense trouble in the air dust off those contingency plans lying in the "what-if" drawer! You may not need them, but there's no harm in being prepared.

Obey a distress signal.

21st November 2005 - 27th November 2005

Once again Uranus arrives on the scene and makes mincemeat of your plans and your opinions. Of course, this could prove refreshingly welcome but just in case someone cancels an arrangement or you receive information that challenges your preconceptions, get ready to make a gracious acceptance speech! It may be that a domestic or property matter meets with an obstacle or forces beyond another person's control mean that an endeavour has to be postponed. But whatever creates ripples on your smooth pond of life, the situation is not likely to be permanent. Under Uranus, goalposts continue to be moved, sometimes in your favour and sometimes not.

All change!

28th November 2005 - 4th December 2005

Uranus and his box of surprises is in town this week, therefore put your plans on hold and wait to see what is produced in the way of exciting opportunities or changes to agendas. Romances come into being suddenly and explosively in this electric atmosphere, but so too can hostilities and hurt feelings lead to abrupt and acrimonious partings. Do your best to humour other people, whether in the hopes of keeping a business/working relationship on the rails or an intimate association in one piece. By contrast, this is a perfect week in which to move house or seek a change of outlook just for a temporary period.

Gently does it.

5th December 2005 - 11th December 2005

Great journeys are undertaken under stars like these, whether in the real sense of travel or in a figurative way through a life-defining experience. And even if you feel overwhelmed by developments, there is a terrific plus to them, which may only become apparent in time to come. Mars-Jupiter connections either inflate already troublesome situations, in some cases sending them spiralling out of control, or they generate great and good events, transforming a so-so existence into something truly splendid. Should an opportunity arise now it should be grabbed with both hands and if someone overreacts to something you have done, do your best not to add fuel to the fire.

Nothing in moderation.

12th December 2005 - 18th December 2005

Roughly six months ago the sun opposed Pluto, no doubt propelling you onto the horns of a dilemma. Now you have an opportunity to revisit that situation or you will be able to assess to where and to what events have led. And there is, of course, a third way in that developments this week will change a long-established pattern, especially if you have a mid-September birthday. Home and family look to be the focus for these stirring alignments, so while some Virgos could be preparing to move house others could be welcoming in a new member of the family. And in general this is a period when old values and old habits give way to the new.

Turning points.

19th December 2005 - 25th December 2005

Thanks to Uranus, the week gets of to an electric start - an unexpected addition to your Christmas agenda or a last moment change to a plan. The home looks to be the setting for any hullabaloo, and while the early part of the week is an excellent time to follow your hunches and take someone else by surprise you too could be on the receiving end of a revelation or two! This is a Christmas with a difference, whether you have already decided to reinvent the season this year or whether members of the family take it upon themselves to give you a celebration you'll never forget.

'Tis the season to be jolly!

26th December 2005 - 1st January 2006

The cosmic joker has once again been placed in charge of the New Year's party, and since he has chosen Pluto as the guest of honour, light-hearted banter is not what you'll get. Indeed, the whole week is suffused by a deep and meaningful aura. What will work well under these stars is a massive clear-out, whether you eliminate the remnants of Christmas gone or whether you decide that certain individuals belong to your past, not your future. Especially if you have a mid-September birthday this is a period of profound understandings, intense exchanges of feelings or decisions that change the shape and texture of your life.

Depth-charged moments.

2nd January 2006 - 8th January 2006

The holiday season is giving way to some serious activity, especially on the creative front. Normally a behind the scenes player you are about to experience an opportunity to display your talents and to influence the shape of things to come, both in a personal and professional way. Communication is all now, and you'll find that people are ready to experiment and to welcome new blood in the form of people and ideas. Friday is a particularly good day to launch your boat of dreams into open water, so while I am not urging you to risk life and limb for a project or a person and I am encouraging you to have faith in yourself and the future.

A creative spurt.

9th January 2006 - 15th January 2006

As one of the more modest and cautious signs of the zodiac you may be hesitant to believe that something terrific can happen to you. Well, I don't want to raise your hopes to unrealistic levels but if you have faith in a situation, and, more importantly, belief in yourself, you can hit the heights this week. The best of the influences are to be found where travel and long-range plans are concerned, so a journey or holiday could be the reason hopes are high and, on the other hand, you may receive an offer or a sign of approval from someone you have been hoping to impress. Don't let the grass grow under your feet, Virgo - aim far and high.

Believe in your dreams.

16th January 2006 - 22nd January 2006

This is one of those weeks when life gets weirder by the day. Plans that seemed firm start to collapse and your confidence in an endeavour may appear to have been unjustified. However, before you close the door on a project or an association, be sure that you have all the facts. There is so much room for misinterpretation and misdirection now that information should be checked more than once and you must be sure that other people have understood your statements and feelings. The work place looks to be the centre of most of the confusion so before you tell the boss what you think of his ideas, make sure he really said them.

Losing the plot.

23rd January 2006 - 29th January 2006

Under these stars you give of your best. Your penchant for detail and your unfailing sense of duty will not only help you to succeed in your endeavours but also encourage others to fulfil their obligations. Sound a trifle dull? Well, Saturn is not the planet to have on side when you want to let your hair down and take a risk! You can use these influences to resolve a long-standing problem and to take on a big commitment, and should a difficulty arise the quicker it is faced the easier it will be. Health is also in the spotlight, if only because you have to redress the balance from the excesses of Christmas past! A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step...

Taking charge.

30th January 2006 - 5th February 2006

You are entering a period of extreme strangeness. During the next two weeks mysterious Neptune occupies centre stage so out of the window goes the ordinary and the rational and in comes the weird, the wonderful and the downright puzzling. Neptune is focusing his energies on work and lifestyle so you may experience a sense of deep disenchantment with your job or rumours could be flying around the workplace. Whatever the case, this is the moment to assume your Sherlock Holmes hat and refuse to believe anyone or anything unless it is accompanied by hard facts. You should also take extra time to ensure that other people have understood you.

A shrimp short of a sea-food salad.

6th February 2006 - 12th February 2006

If Saturn provided you with a dose of reality last week, Neptune is at his devious best this week. You are in uncertain waters and although you may wish you had your bearings you could have to rely purely on your gut instincts. Some things in life simply cannot be black and white - they're various shades of grey - and this may well be the case where a colleague, partner or work-related situation is concerned. Rumours can rarely be trusted so should one be doing the rounds now, refuse to be drawn into the gossip and wait until you can establish some real facts. Perhaps, more importantly, if you listen to your heart, you'll know exactly what to do.

Confusion, confusion.

13th February 2006 - 19th February 2006

Do Mercury and Uranus have a surprise for you? If you have a birthday in early September you're in the sights of these two planets on the 14th. What I cannot guarantee is whether you'll love the unexpected events or wish they could have happened to someone else. You are not in the driver's seat at present, but rather than struggle to achieve control you might make a considerable gain by biding your time. In roughly six months, the boot will be on the other foot, so to speak, and you will have an opportunity to make someone else's day by pulling a rabbit out of a hat. Be adaptable and prepared to put an old relationship script into the dustbin of history.

A change of tune.

20th February 2006 - 26th February 2006

There may have been a little bit too much Uranus in last week's stars for your liking - and if someone took you totally by surprise or something collapsed like a soggy soufflé you'll know what I mean. Now Jupiter and Mercury take over, making sweet music and certainly setting the stage for positive discussions. Should you be joining an organization or making plans to share your life with someone, the omens could not be more favourable. And if you meet a new person he or she should prove to be a serious asset. The only reservation I have is the sight of Pluto looming in the distance, so if you have a worry of any description attend to it now.

Sweet music.

27th February 2006 - 5th March 2006

If the planets were an orchestra they would be playing the opening bars of a magnum opus - and out of tune! In many ways you yourself are in perfect harmony, it's other people causing all the discord, and all you can do is bide your time until they change their tune. Then again, perhaps events are playing into your hands and you now have an opportunity to end a liaison or terminate a project that was in deep trouble. On the 2nd, Mercury goes into reverse thrust, which, on the one hand suggests that after a short time a situation will be back on track and, on the other, indicates you will benefit from more research and preparation before making a commitment.

Nothing stays the same forever.

6th March 2006 - 12th March 2006

Mars-Uranus connections are full of surprises, so even if you have all your ducks in row you should still leave a little wiggle room in the event of a last moment change, especially on the 6th or 11th. Mars is currently in the area of ambitions and career so you may receive an unexpected offer or someone could change his or her mind, thus sending you into a tail-spin. While events have an out of the blue quality about them, if you go deep within yourself you may well have to admit that you saw the signs many moons ago but preferred to ignore them. Change is no bad thing at present, and once you have got behind the new order you will come to see that everything has worked out for the best.

All's well that ends well.

13th March 2006 - 19th March 2006

Wednesday produces the only full moon in your sign this year and it is eclipsed, thus you are at an important stage of 2006, especially if you have a mid-September birthday. A full moon like this will empower you, yet it may also reveal where you have run out of road. Now, this trend may apply to a romantic or working relationship or it could relate to a personal or professional endeavour. Certainly, other people feature in the success or failure of current enterprises, and even if you have the deciding vote, you would do well to handle partners, colleagues and friends with kid gloves. Also, should you meet someone new under these stars, this could turn out to be one of the most important relationships of your life.

Eclipse? What eclipse?

20th March 2006 - 26th March 2006

It's amazing how things change so quickly. What may have seemed too challenging for words recently could suddenly resolve itself, and your fears for a situation may prove ungrounded. One of the big pluses of this week's astrology is that Mercury, the planet of travel and communication, begins to function normally, so instead of your being led up blind alleys and constantly advised by the ministry of dis-information you receive some straight answers. You may have to deal with a little uncertainty regarding a health or work matter but even here a progress of sorts can be made. It's time to move onward and upward.

Getting your bearings.

27th March 2006 - 2nd April 2006

If you have been feeling somewhat listless and in need of stimulation, the planets are about to do you a considerable favour - these alignments are the stuff of awakenings. The area of finances is the primary focus for Wednesday's total solar eclipse, so while some Virgos will be looking at an unexpected windfall others will need to dig deep in their pockets to cover an unanticipated expense. There will be periods later in the year when you have a greater say in your affairs - financial and otherwise - but at the moment you are dependent on other people's needs and decisions. In other words, be charitable, patient and adaptable.

Money, money, money.

3rd April 2006 - 9th April 2006

Mars is currently transiting the zone of career and life-direction so already a more driven and ambitious side of your nature may be revealing itself. This week, Mars engages mighty Pluto setting the stage for a victorious result or a rethink regarding a job or large-scale endeavour. There is combative element to these stars, and while you should neither be feint-hearted nor too accommodating you should not underestimate your opposition. Power struggles do erupt from time to time but often the real victor is the one who exhibits grace in defeat - something to think about should you lose out on a personal or professional goal.

Beginnings not endings.

10th April 2006 - 16th April 2006

Full moons end a chapter and enable us to complete a process, whether that is of an emotional nature or something a little more tangible. And you have the opportunity to do both this week. Thursday's full moon straddles the axis of finance and self-worth, so before the end of April a financial agreement could be signed and sealed or you will be able to bring a halt to any inappropriate spending habits and commitments. On the other hand, you can also close the door on an unfulfilling sexual relationship or come to an understanding that will help correct the balance of power in a partnership. Do your best to put compromise above pride.

A balancing act.

17th April 2006 - 23rd April 2006

If you haven't yet noticed the good work that Venus is doing on behalf of your love life this week's electric aspects could open your eyes. It is under such stars that romances are born suddenly and in unusual circumstances, and it is also thanks to such influences that unworkable relationships come to an abrupt end. Early September birthdays are once again in the limelight, and if you've been struggling to keep a liaison afloat or putting up with a state of affairs that is intolerable, your exit visa has been approved. By the weekend Jupiter will be in the ascendant, raising hopes and helping you celebrate in style.

Curiouser and curiouser.

24th April 2006 - 30th April 2006

Venus angles Pluto over the weekend, making this crunch time for a long-established liaison or inspiring a beautiful and profound moment for a burgeoning romance. And with Saturn's abiding presence over the proceedings, while a celebration may have its poignant aspect, there is also a sense of destinies being cast in iron and steel. In other words, marriages and other long-term commitments are blessed with durability but somehow, a sense of jubilation is missing. Also, should a project be delayed or someone have to pull out of an event, do your best to display a gracious and optimistic front.

Problems? What problems?

1st May 2006 - 7th May 2006

If you wake up on Monday morning with a spring in your step, don't assume it's a temporary aberration - there's a clear turn in the tide, so you should waste no time putting your dreams and ambitions onto the front burner. You tend to be one of the more pragmatic and strategic thinkers of the zodiac, but if you experience flashes of insight or spur of the moment impulses now, obey them. A partner may also surprise you in the best of ways. And even if these stars fail to produce a delightful and unexpected stroke of good luck, somewhere something is taking root that will change your life for the better.

A surprise package.

8th May 2006 - 14th May 2006

The best thing you can do with a set of stars like these is take a break, both in the sense of a holiday and putting a situation on hold. There is just not enough information to enable you to follow a specific course of action right now, and delays and obstructions may appear around each and every corner. And, perhaps you too need to shift a degree or so before you put thoughts into action. The area of far horizons is currently in the frame, so if you are heading out of familiar territory the experience could open your eyes to new and beautiful possibilities or you may become hopelessly lost. Consider this to be a time of transition, and allow yourself to be led by events.

Strange territory.

15th May 2006 - 21st May 2006

There's a fine line between expanding your awareness and allowing things to become blown up out of all proportion - something to think about in this week of Neptunian mists. Normally, your judgement is sound - Virgo has a gift for taking each of the component parts of a situation and making a perfect whole - but at the moment you are in danger of adding up two and two and reaching five. It could be that your hopes or fears are interfering with your perception or someone may have failed to give you all the facts - either by accident or design. In a little over a week Uranus will be in play producing one of those aha moments, so for now gain distance and perspective.

Jumping to conclusions.

22nd May 2006 - 28th May 2006

An old saying claims that if you want to make God laugh you should tell him your plans, and this notion comes to mind this week. Mercury and Uranus combine to bring about unexpected changes, and although they may take the wind out of your sails temporarily, it will not be long before you see the merits of those changes. By contrast, after a long period of waiting a break-through may come about suddenly and in the most unusual of ways. Career and relationships occupy the spotlight at the moment, making this a prime time to give an old order the big heave-ho and to implement a new and very different one.

A fresh chapter.

29th May 2006 - 4th June 2006

As June opens the drum rolls begin, largely in the form of a series of aspects to Pluto and Uranus. You may find that this week marks the starting point for a new venture or that you receive confirmation that you have succeeded in your efforts; on the other hand, you could realize that someone is never going to see matters your way and that there is no way to bridge your differences. Ideally, the sooner you face the music the better and the speedier you are about seizing an opportunity, the greater your chances of success. Do your best to find the positive side to current developments - a good attitude can do more to right a wrong than almost anything else.

Making a tough decision.

5th June 2006 - 11th June 2006

Another burst of fresh air is surely promised by Uranus, so unless you're planning to head off to unfamiliar pastures or looking to change some aspect of your routine, prepare for a bolt from the blue. Once again, other people are likely to be the agents of change, whether they whisk you off on a minor adventure or turn a plan upside down. Yet even in the event of a less than pleasing occurrence you look to do well out of the experience - and it will certainly broaden your outlook! One thing to be aware of, however, is offending someone with the strength of your opinions: with Mars moving ever nearer the judge and jury of the planets - Saturn - a small rebuff could provoke a mini ice-age.

Moderation in all things.

12th June 2006 - 18th June 2006

Transformation is a wonderful process - it implies growth and change of a deep and profound order - and this is what is offered by this week's stars. You may already have chosen this week for a specific occasion, in which case these aspects underline its significance, but if you have nothing important on your agenda, you may have cause to remember this period of June for its innovative, and, yes, transformational events. At the very least this is an ideal opportunity for a purge of some description, whether you empty your wardrobe of clothes you haven't worn for years or whether you give someone who or something that has been draining your energies and patience the big heave-ho.

Cutting out the non-essentials.

19th June 2006 - 25th June 2006

This astrological climate should suit you well: there is a dearth of confusion and a surplus of reality. Then again, if you were hoping for a week of high romance and open-ended arrangements, you're going to be somewhat disappointed. At this time you can put flesh on the bones of ideas and plans, and any results that come in deliver a clear picture. Nonetheless, planets currently in the obscure twelfth house carry a warning of hidden agendas and unconfirmed rumours. In other words, this is a week in which to put your trust in statements that can be supported in fact and to know people by their actions, not their promises.

Brass tacks.

26th June 2006 - 2nd July 2006

During the past weekend, Venus arrived at the mid-heaven of your solar chart for a four-week transit during which she will ease your relations with employers and those people who have influence on your future. In effect, the green light is on for projects close to your heart, and you should set out your market stall without delay. There is also much to be gained from pooling your ideas and resources with colleagues and friends - this is an ideal astro-scape in which to network and re-establish old connections. Sometimes Virgos can be too reticent for their own good, so take a tip from your astrologer and start knocking on some doors.

Making connections.

3rd July 2006 - 9th July 2006

Nine times out of ten you know precisely how someone will act and what the likely outcome of a situation will be. But not always... Now with tricky Neptune and volatile Uranus in the mix, other people have the capacity to surprise and undermine you, and you may not be at your physical and emotional best. While these stars may produce an unexpected bonus, it could be too soon to assume that everything is in the bag. Likewise, should a relationship or endeavour suddenly take a reverse turn, it may well right itself by the end of the month. Indeed, this is the beginning of a short period when delays and detours will be par for the course.

Be adaptable.

10th July 2006 - 16th July 2006

Venus is bringing her positive influence to bear on your career and personal ambitions, but quite what she will make of her meeting with Pluto on the 14th rather depends. In some cases, this connection will produce a much wanted reward for your labours but in others it will be apparent that a radical change of tactic is necessary if you are to achieve your objectives. Other people, especially authority figures, will not be easily impressed at this time and dialogues will be tough and uncompromising. It may also be that you have reached the end of your patience with a situation: if so, have the confidence to state your case and move on.

No compromise.

17th July 2006 - 23rd July 2006

Full knowledge of where you stand with someone or something may still be a week or so away, but you have reached a point where you know a lot more than you did, and, in general, you are on firmer ground. With Mars' arrival in your sign (22nd) extra resources come your way in the sense of confidence and resolve, although you may experience a little more conflict and argument in the process. Health also springs into the mainframe, whether the green light goes on for a new diet and exercise regime or because you finally recognize that you're not super-woman and require some rest and space to re-charge your batteries.

A change of gear.

24th July 2006 - 30th July 2006

Acting on your intuition can be a little scary - after all, you are a sign that likes facts and figures as opposed to leaping to conclusions - but you should play close attention to your inner voice this week. Your unconscious mind has taken in far more information than meets the external eye, and those ideas and understandings that appear to have no basis in reality are likely to be right on the mark. It might be better to wait until Thursday to put an idea into action and to confront someone with your feelings and suggestions, but as a general rule of thumb, if a thought refuses to go away, your inner-guide is urging you to make a move.

Obeying a hunch.

31st July 2006 - 6th August 2006

If you are feeling somewhat apprehensive - and for no solid reason - the chances are you feeling the effects of the sun's passage through the occluded twelfth house. The way to enjoy this transit is to pay attention to your dreams and intuitions, without acting upon them - let those thoughts and possibilities simmer. In a few short weeks your ability to understand those feelings and activate plans will be much greater. With this in mind, do not ignore any signals that other people may be sending, but do not subscribe to them either. You are being asked to be patient at this point and to allow flesh to form on the bones of ideas.

A Waiting Game.

7th August 2006 - 13th August 2006

There is nothing plain-sailing about the week ahead so unless you're relaxing on a desert island with nothing more on your mind than where your next pina-colada is coming from, be prepared for some exasperating detours. Plans may have to change from day to day, whether the weather is at fault or people you were banking on fail to keep their promises. That having been said, should someone appear to be behaving in an unusual fashion the reason could be entirely laudable, and in a few short weeks you could find yourself on the receiving end of a beautiful surprise. But just to be on the safe side, avoid taking a risk and leaping to a conclusion.

Mixed messages.

14th August 2006 - 20th August 2006

Hopefully, you are taking time out or cutting down your work schedule, because with a cluster of planets in the secluded twelfth house, little is quite as it seems and you may not be your usual smart self. On the plus side, unbeknownst to you, a delightful plan may be taking shape or someone who seems to be displaying deep disinterest in you and your ideas could be seriously impressed. Also, should last week have produced an unexpected development that upset more than your timetable, you may now begin to see that events have played into your hands. August is a tricky month - take it one step at a time and don't be misled by appearances.

Gently does it.

21st August 2006 - 27th August 2006

In the words of Alice in Wonderland, life is curiouser and curiouser. The problem is that two planets with very different natures are dominating the astrology, and this creates muddles and raises deep doubts. However, what you need to remember is that this is a temporary state of affairs, and with the sun's entry into your sign (23rd) you will gain clarity and vitality as the days go by. Indeed, it may well be that a situation that has been perplexing you since the beginning of the month, finally begins to make sense, and while I wouldn't recommend acting on the bare threads of information, what amounts to solid evidence should be responded to as soon as possible.

Hard evidence, not hard feelings.

28th August 2006 - 3rd September 2006

You will not be able to predict the outcome of one or more situations nor the behaviour of certain individuals. In this eccentric climate, you need to be ready for all eventualities and avoid making snap judgements. With feisty Mars in your sign, you are more assertive than ever and more determined to achieve your objectives, and, while this is a positive trend, with Pluto in the frame force of any kind is to be avoided. What comes to you without effort will serve you well in the future but what you push, shove and insist upon could come back to bite you. You are beginning a period of great change: expect the best but prepare for a detour or two.

Powerful times.

4th September 2006 - 10th September 2006

September is going to be a seminal month for Virgo. Many new openings will appear and there will be big changes, some of them planned and others coming as a surprise. And it all starts from here. Uranus, Pluto and an eclipsed full moon give you enough ammunition with which to attack any flagging situation or face any obstacle, and if you have been waiting for a signal to get moving on a project, here it is. Especially if it is your birthday this week or next, the year ahead will see you in a new space - in literal or psychological terms - within a year. And whenever you were born, these influences point to the ending of a mini-era.

Get ready to rock and roll.

11th September 2006 - 17th September 2006

There will be no excuses for refusing to bite the bullet now or failing to seize the moment. Uranus and Pluto are on top form ensuring that you eliminate the negative and input the positive, regardless how it may seem at the time. Both these planets change the status-quo, sometimes in regard to a relationship or a job, and sometimes through inspiring epiphanies. Certainly what comes to you as a blinding insight or a sudden awakening should be taken seriously and acted upon. All right, this may not be the easiest week of the year but in retrospect it will have brought about more good than harm; you'll be the winner, not the loser.

A sea change.

18th September 2006 - 24th September 2006

A solar eclipse in Virgo is a sign of great things to come, especially if it is your birthday between the 20th and 22nd. New beginnings are forecast, and if you have been seeking to change your life, you now have the power to do so. Venus is also working hard on your behalf, giving you extra charm particles and helping you attract those things that and those people who will be of benefit to you. Sound too good to be true? Well, sometimes solar eclipses must eliminate the negative before they input the positive so try not to be too phased if something heads toward the exit sign now. Baggage and liberation simply do not go together.

Signs of change.

25th September 2006 - 1st October 2006

Venus is all sweetness and light when she's in your sign, persuading you to take a softer line in any conflict and trying to bring balance and harmony into your life. That is until she hooks up to mighty Pluto, which she does early this week. Issues that are deeply buried erupt under these aspects, which may mean that you are suddenly made aware of how deeply you feel about someone or something or events could bring a secret into the open, leading to some profound changes. Relationships look to be the centre of the storm, whether you realize how precious someone is to you or because an incident bears all the hallmarks of the straw that broke the camel's back.

Realizations.

2nd October 2006 - 8th October 2006

As one of the most hard-working and conscientious signs of the zodiac, isn't it about time you received a reward for your efforts.? Well, if Mars and Neptune have anything to do with it, appreciation in one form or another is on its way. In some cases, a financial bonus can be expected, but, in others, the rewards are more subtle, and may come in the form of a loving exchange or a kind gesture. However, in order to encourage the divine flow of abundance you might consider demonstrating generosity towards someone else. There are some distinct benefits to two-way streets, you can even perform a U-turn, if you wish...

Generosity of spirit.

9th October 2006 - 15th October 2006

Neptune runs the ministry of muddles so when this planet is in prominence it is essential to have frequent reality checks. However, Neptune also stands at the gateway of the invisible world, the world of feelings and the spirit, so a strong Neptunian presence also promotes compassion, forgiveness, love and selflessness, which is the case this week. The areas of finance and work are in the frame, indicating that an act of generosity on your part could set a situation to rights, and that this is the correct moment to put an end to hostilities. You may also find that the intervention of a stranger helps with a long-standing matter, or that a flash of genius solves a problem.

Divine intervention.

16th October 2006 - 22nd October 2006

You can make some excellent financial moves at this time. Not only are you on the money in terms of seeing the advantage of certain investments and the benefits of changing long-standing commitments, but you are in the money, perhaps because of an unexpected bonus or a new salary structure. Yet finances are not the only aspect of your existence in the spotlight: a relationship can gather momentum now, and, whether for professional or romantic reasons, an approach made to someone under these stars will almost guarantee a positive response. Affirm your value, Virgo, and who can fail to be impressed.

Upping your stock.

23rd October 2006 - 29th October 2006

October draws to an end with a mixture of sweet and sour. While progress is to be made and there is a new energy and rhythm to life, Monday's Mercury-Saturn link sounds a note of caution. If you spot a distress signal, or there are signs that someone is less than enamoured with a situation, do not leave the matter unchecked. With the sun and Mars yet to meet with Saturn, minor problems could turn into three-act dramas within the next four weeks. Add to this Mercury's retrograde turn, and the potential for information to go missing and for misunderstandings to proliferate is quadrupled This is not meant to alarm you, however, more to urge you to deal promptly with any anomaly.

Attention, please.

30th October 2006 - 5th November 2006

Mercury has only been in retrograde motion for a matter of days but already you may be witnessing the slowing down of a project and experiencing a general pattern of frustrating delays. However, the rest of the planets are in pretty good shape so a temporary hitch could prove entirely useful, and you too might benefit from taking some time out or, indeed, taking more time to reach a conclusion. For once Uranus is on brilliant form, bringing new ideas into being and showing you that contrary to your opinions people can change and that you are not the only person capable of hanging in there when the going gets tough.

Making a detour.

6th November 2006 - 12th November 2006

You are normally very diligent when it comes to fact-finding and adding up the figures but even your excellent judgement could be faulty at this time. It may be that your desires, hopes or fears are strong enough to blind you to a reality, or, perhaps, you have misinterpreted a piece of information. While you may disagree with this possibility, it will do no harm to go over a document or set of instructions once again to ensure that you have fully understood the contents and the implication. And by the same token, much as you may trust a professional advisor or a respected organization, there is a chance that somewhere along the line mistakes have been made.

Unsafe verdicts.

13th November 2006 - 19th November 2006

As Alice in Wonderland might have said: life gets curiouser and curiouser. Early in the week you may feel you are on solid ground: you have answers and you know where you stand, yet by Thursday things could be changing shape. In part this could have to do with your own shifting feelings, although there is also a chance that events beyond your control will alter the status-quo. My advice is to continue to keep an open mind unless you run the risk of losing serious money or your good name. Hope is a vital currency and no stone should be unturned in order to reverse a decision or alter the course of southbound situation.

Roll with the punches.

20th November 2006 - 26th November 2006

On the 24th, Jupiter sets up home at the base of your solar chart, and this is one house guest you'll want to stay. This planet promotes abundance and good fortune, and given that it is now stationed at the roots of the horoscope its growth oriented properties will flow into every branch of life. During the coming year, you may add to your family, increase the value of your home, perhaps move house, but even without such life-defining events you will experience a sense of expansion. All right, there will be times when Uranus, Pluto et al will put a spanner in the works, but you will have greater resources to deal with the ups and the downs.

Change for the better.

27th November 2006 - 3rd December 2006

Not for the first time is it your job to bring order out of chaos, but doing so could prove a tad challenging this week. For a start you may not be dealing with a full deck of cards, by which I mean what you are being told may not be the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Thus, you will need to do your homework. Second, you may not be able to give a matter the attention required due to the strange and sudden way events unfold. Now, this is not mean to alarm you so much as to put you in the right head space to deal with the unusual and the unpredictable. Don't be afraid to break with tradition or relieve yourself of a burden that you neither need nor want.

Knowing what's right.

4th December 2006 - 10th December 2006

This is one of those weeks when everything happens all at once, so pile in as many routine chores as you can on Monday, then wait for the games to begin! It may also be that a situation that has been rumbling along for a while reaches a head. Ideally, this is a time to throw out those things that are gathering dust in order to free up some space; it is also a time to leave a part of the past behind so that you are open to fresh influences. And since the home sector of your horoscope is in the spotlight sweeping changes on the domestic front are top of the list of possibilities. Not for the first time this year is the prospect of liberation ahead of you.

Letting rip!

11th December 2006 - 17th December 2006

Your judgement and analysis is rarely at fault but sometimes it is worth going with your gut feelings. There is a lot of good will to be had at the moment, so although this will not turn black to white, so to speak, there's much mileage to be gained in giving someone or something the benefit of the doubt, or at least a little more time. Also, while I'm not urging you to spend money you can ill-afford if you see something of value, or something that will grow in value over the years, it will be worth digging deep into your pockets. Indeed, this is one of those weeks when acts of faith have the power to manifest great things.

Thinking big.

18th December 2006 - 24th December 2006

'Tis the season to be jolly, although some people seem determined to make it anything but. On the plus side, you can throw out a whole lot of dusty and unusable items this week, but on the downside, you may not enjoy being made to do so by someone else. Pluto and Uranus are not gentle influences - they act like minor volcanoes thrusting molten lava to the surface and insisting that you deal with the debris - so the best you can do with those events that force your hand is to simply get on with it. The roots of life are the setting for much of the activity, and if the furniture isn't being moved, then some goal posts probably are.

Moving mountains.

25th December 2006 - 31st December 2006

Who thought of inviting Pluto to the Christmas celebrations? The cosmic joker, obviously. However, you can make the best of these powerful stars by setting new trends in motion, whether this manifests as a change in the Christmas fare or altering one or more family traditions. Sometimes under Pluto secrets emerge and people choose what should be the happiest of moments to unburden their angst and guilt; and at other times people decide to make an announcement that surprises everyone. So this Christmas is sure to be memorable for what is said and what is done about what is said. With a matter of days to go before 2007 arrives, think new beginnings not sad endings.

Christmas blessings.

1st January 2007 - 7th January 2007

How accommodating of Uranus, currently lodged in the area of partnership and causing the occasional upset, to change his tactics in the first week of a new year by producing a happy surprise. A partner may have good news to share with you, or a break from routine will add a positive dimension to a relationship. You could just sit back and wait and see what comes up in the way of the new and the different but it might be even better to initiate some ground-breaking moves of your own. Virgo has a tendency to wait until the climate is perfect before going into action but you'll miss the proverbial boat of opportunity if you let this week go by.

Seizing the moment.

15th January 2007 - 21st January 2007

With changes of sign for more than one planet, your focus is shifting from events of a pleasurable kind to getting yourself in shape. While for some Virgos this will manifest as a desire to detox after the Christmas extravaganza, others will be seeking to set their working life in order and generally put their existence back on track. However, with mysterious Neptune in the mix, the ministry of dis-information is at work so rumours must be ignored until the facts are out, and should you be experiencing doubts, do not act out of panic but wait until you feel centred. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with this week's astrology but you'll have to separate fact from fiction.

Take your time.

8th January 2007 - 14th January 2007

Since mid-December Pluto has been a prominent figure on our astro-scape, so you may have been through a series of events that have changed your outlook considerably. This weekend marks the end of this short term of trial, whether you have gone beyond the call of duty where friends and family are concerned or because you have completed a process, which has been physically, emotionally and financially challenging. And even if you have enjoyed every last moment of the past few weeks once the 14th is behind you you will be entering another phase: you will be in a new space, either in literal or metaphorical terms.

Changing spaces.

22nd January 2007 - 28th January 2007

The bluebird of happiness may not be much in evidence this week, although with Venus heading into the zone of love and relating (28th) there is the promise of better things to come. Jupiter and Uranus combine to produce a surprise - perhaps in the form of an unexpected arrival or a sudden burst of romance - while Saturn and Neptune expose the flaws in your ideas and expectations. Perhaps too, since the year began you have been pushing yourself too hard and the time has come to take the pedal off the metal before you are forced into retirement! Whatever the week ahead brings in the way of realizations, somewhere along the line, someone has failed to tell the truth.

Remain centred.

29th January 2007 - 4th February 2007

With so much celestial activity in the zone of relationships finding your own space is going to be the challenge du jour. Other people have needs and demands, and it's your job to meet them! On the one hand, you are entering a three-week period when discussion and debate lead to some interesting developments; and, on the other, you may be on the receiving end of some surprise offers and announcements. That all change is good may be a cliché but it is especially the case at present, so if the one factor holding you back is the fear of taking a leap into the unknown, may I give you a little push over the brink?

All change is good.

5th February 2007 - 11th February 2007

This week could mark the turning point for a relationship. Venus, already working hard to restore your faith in life and love, hooks up to quirky Uranus, in some cases sparking a new romance and in others bringing a relationship to crisis point. The 5th - 7th September birthdays are centre-stage here and at the very least this planetary combo will awaken you to new feelings and bring about fresh understandings. There is something entirely fateful about what happens during the next few days, and although you will do almost anything to avoid a wave of controversy you may find yourself on the receiving end of a development that raises more than a few eyebrows.

Go with the flow.

12th February 2007 - 18th February 2007

You won't be able to blame Venus, the planet of love, for any disappointments or dreary developments this week: this planet is gracing the area of relationships, in some cases presiding over a wedding and in others pouring soothing oil on troubled matrimonial waters. Indeed, the weekend is one of the most perfect periods of 2007 to kiss and make-up or plight your troth. There is a small but, which comes in the form of Mercury's turning retrograde - a factor that tends to make getting from A to B far more protracted than usual. The way around this little irritation is to be very patient with people who upset you, and to avoid leaving anything to the last moment.

Happy landings.

19th February 2007 - 25th February 2007

Just before Venus leaves the area of relationships she squares up to Pluto, thus bringing simmering issues to boiling point. Clearly, this may be an entirely enjoyable experience should a new relationship have been smouldering gently but not so wonderful if you've been sitting on a volcano of resentment. There is much to be said for releasing pent up feelings - the air can be cleared and a fresh start made - but sometimes in the eruption words are said and actions taken that cannot be rewound, so to speak. Thus, before you leap into a commitment that you may ultimately regret or exit a relationship that still has some value, count to ten, if not a hundred!

Gently does it.

26th February 2007 - 4th March 2007

Fasten your seat belts - this is one bumpy ride. The total lunar eclipse falls in your sign and with its proximity to liberator, Uranus, something is about to take off big time or come to a screaming halt. Now, before you reach for the panic button let me assure you that the writing has been on the wall for some while, especially in regard to a relationship, so whether a reality is revealed this week or next, deep down you've sensed it coming. You won't be the only one negotiating an obstacle course - indeed, the reason you may run into a road block is because someone else's plans have changed, and in the blink of an eye.

The times they are a changing.

5th March 2007 - 11th March 2007

After a three-week period of mixed messages and lost plots you begin to make sense of one or more situations. Mercury, the communications officer, returns to normal service so people who have been out of touch will be back in circulation and plans that have been stuck in limbo can proceed. My only reservation is that Uranus is also a major player at the moment so the way enlightenment is achieved could be through a somewhat surprising piece of news. You are by nature thoughtful and discriminating but just occasionally you should follow your gut feelings: this is either the moment to jump in with both feet or get out of the kitchen!

Sudden awakenings.

12th March 2007 - 18th March 2007

Roughly half-way through this month of memorable occasions and you have an opportunity to alter the course of an endeavour, or at least make an adjustment. Virgos have a natural distaste for drawing attention to themselves, especially if it is to express serious reservations about a forthcoming event or some other commitment, but if you have a gut feeling or any solid facts to support those doubts you should now declare them. Not that the week ahead is just about difficult moments... A beautiful link to Pluto at the base of your chart could produce some bright financial news, and relationships formed or solemnized now are the stuff of great things in the making.

Finding your voice.

19th March 2007 - 25th March 2007

The second eclipse in two weeks occurs on Monday, and it falls in the area of relating and is angled by mighty Pluto. At the very least, and especially if you have a 17-20 September birthday, you are about to see what one or more people are made of. If you have selected this week to marry then your relationship will challenge and reward you in ways you have not dreamed of yet if a partnership is already in deep trouble these influences will help you make a decision, one way or another. As always, your heart knows the answers and if you listen to that you cannot make a mistake.

Mighty decisions.

26th March 2007 - 1st April 2007

You may believe you have had all you ever wanted and more from prickly Uranus, but this planet is back in business helping you see where your ideas conflict with those of the planetary gods! Expect other people to be the bearers of intriguing news and don't assume that you know someone so well that he or she cannot surprise you. A romance that began recently could take a radically different turn so while some Virgos (especially those with 5 September birthdays) could be on the receiving end of a sudden proposal others could discover that love, no matter how promising its beginnings, is not always meant to last...

An eye-opener.

2nd April 2007 - 8th April 2007

Not every single Virgo is a paragon of virtue but all Virgos appreciate being organized and informed. Sadly, the ministry of dis-information is in charge of this week's events so even though you may know where you're headed and what precise arrangements are in place someone else may not. Aside from checking and re-checking that everyone's ducks, including yours, are in a row you would do well to detach yourself from specific outcomes, by which I mean once you have done all you can towards the success of an endeavour, allow fate and other people to do the rest. You never know, things could turn out even better than expected.

Let situations breathe.

9th April 2007 - 15th April 2007

Finances and property could be the source of great good news. A brilliant connection between the sun and Jupiter breeds abundance so you can anticipate anything from a minor saving to a major financial gain. And should you have been wondering when might be the time to improve your monetary lot now is the moment to knock on a few doors. Money is not the only focus for these expansive influences, however, a family worry could be resolved and a relative may be the focus for a celebration. Pluto does have a part to play in this week's story but you can be assured that whatever emerges in the way of truth can only be to your advantage.

A breakthrough.

16th April 2007 - 22nd April 2007

Knowing when to make your move is half the battle and with this in mind your astrologer is urging you to take the initiative, especially regarding a financial or romantic matter. These influences preside over new beginnings and you can have faith in the offers and agreements that come your way now: it is an ideal time to open up a dialogue with banks and lending institutions and a perfect moment to discuss joint monetary responsibilities with a partner. And as far as romance goes, your intuition is far more valuable than any amount of material evidence that a relationship is either in good shape or heading for the door marked: over.

Making moves.

23rd April 2007 - 29th April 2007

At the beginning of April Mercury hooked up to Uranus setting the stage for an unexpected announcement or a change in your thinking. In some cases what transpired has had a noticeable effect on your life but if not, and you are in the 8th - 11th September birthday group, there is about to be a repeat performance. Affairs of the heart are in the frame so a suggestion from a partner earlier on in the month could become a reality or a rumour may turn out to be a fact. Uranus is the wild-card among the planets so even if you have nothing special penned in your diary or you feel you know everything there is to know about a person you could be in for a surprise.

A spring storm.

30th April 2007 - 6th May 2007

Whatever upset the apple-cart recently seems to have left a lingering question mark in your mind, and although events may ultimately do you many favours your actions this week could make a big difference as to how quickly you bounce back. First, you need to trust your excellent judgement: your initial feelings were correct about someone's behaviour or the way a situation was heading so you should not delay putting in any measures that would protect your interests and your reputation. Second, whatever you may have been told about a certain matter, more is set to emerge before the middle of May.

More to come.

7th May 2007 - 13th May 2007

These are complex influences in the best of circumstances but if you are currently on the horns of a dilemma, it doesn't get more confusing than this. Normally a sensible, rational sign events could be stirring your passions and making you anything but your equable self. It could be that someone is being exposed for what he or she truly is and the temptation for you might be to cut and run. By contrast, you may suddenly decide to leave a long-standing relationship for another more attractive proposition. Whatever happens at this time has the ring of fate about it, and even if you do not feel compelled to vote with your feet, other people might.

Stirring stuff.

14th May 2007 - 20th May 2007

Predicting anything in this climate carries a no-refund policy, by which I mean if matters can be contrary to expectations, they will. On the plus side, an event you had assumed would be dull and boring could turn out to be fantastic and someone you believed would never surprise you does just that - and in style. Then there is that irritating down side... A date could be cancelled at the last moment and a plan that you had thought was watertight may start to leak like a proverbial sieve. All these developments come with a Uranus-Jupiter gift tag, which means that although your ideas may be turned upside down, in the end you will be grateful.

Keep your options open.

21st May 2007 - 27th May 2007

It seems people are ready to talk business. The sun's arrival in the zone of career and life-goals sets in motion a four-week period in which great progress can be made, and with a little help from wingéd Mercury moves made this week act as a rocket-launcher. Almost any situation will benefit from this astro-scape, provided you are prepared to adjust your plans somewhat, even abandon one of your pet-theories. It is appropriate to go to the top, however, whether this means approaching those in positions of power for direction or whether through your own efforts people of substance are now able to see that you are worth their investment.

Making your point.

28th May 2007 - 3rd June 2007

The sun's passage through the area of career and life-goals is enabling you to make progress and to focus on the material aspects of life as opposed to the spiritual and ephemeral. But no so this week. Events on home turf serve to show you the need for balance between earning money and acquiring status on the one hand and being in the bosom of your family and finding emotional nourishment on the other. Once you achieve a balance here, life will be infinitely less stressful. In terms of events this week may give cause for a celebration or a gathering of the clans, and if you've been trying to buy or sell a property expect a breakthrough.

A Balancing act.

4th June 2007 - 10th June 2007

There is an unpredictable element to your stars but it seems that an unexpected change is all in a good cause. There are monetary gains to be made, and for some Virgos this involves a change or promotion at work; others may find that a financial organization is prepared to offer favourable terms or that an ex is in a more generous frame of mind. Jupiter's transit of the base of your chart is encouraging expansion on the home front, which may mean welcoming new people into the family fold or extending the home (and the mortgage) to accommodate your growing aspirations. Normally, you are a cautious sign but you should have reason to be cautiously optimistic now.

Expansion or bust!

11th June 2007 - 17th June 2007

You are at the beginning of a short but eventful period of 2007. A new moon at the zenith of your horoscope (15th) brings a new element into play, first and foremost regarding your career. During the next two to four weeks events may well inspire you to change course and certainly to re-think your goals and priorities. The 11th and 19th September birthdays are front of the queue here, so if you hear rumblings of change or feel the urge to make a liberating move, don't ignore it. Just how much Mercury's reverse turn will help or hinder matters rather depends: on the plus side it will give you some time to consider your best options but on the minus side, the ministry of dis-information is in charge!

Looking for signs.

18th June 2007 - 24th June 2007

Roughly a month ago a similar planetary set-up was in play so a development in mid-to-late May could be centre stage now or there will be a conclusion of sorts. Certainly, if you're in that 17th-20th September birthday group this is one of several occasions this year when changes in your overall direction come about, either by your own actions or those of others. And in general this is a time of huge peaks and troughs. Where money, family or property are concerned much may be asked of you yet you have the ability and the resources to deliver. Plus, with gentle Venus waiting in the wings, a happy ending is virtually guaranteed, albeit a little further down the line.

Big stuff.

25th June 2007 - 1st July 2007

As the healer, helper and organizer of the zodiac, prepare to be everybody's angel this week. A friend, member of the family or a colleague could experience events that temporarily rock their world, and even though they may be exaggerating the size of the situation they will need you to set them straight and put soothing balm on their bruises. Then again, you yourself may end up feeling somewhat shaken and stirred. Saturn and Neptune are making their last connection with each other for some years, and while it may be too early to reach a final verdict on current events it seems a new way forward will come out of them.

Seeing straight.

2nd July 2007 - 8th July 2007

Do you feel as if you are back-pedalling? No surprise if you do since Mercury is stuck in reverse gear making mincemeat of your arrangements and causing you to question all sorts of issues and people. As the great analyst of the zodiac you should use this period to gather information because something somewhere is, as you suspect, not quite right. It may take another week or so before you put two and two together and make four but time spent in following a paper trail will not be wasted. Also, should you be feeling less than your normal perky self it may be that you have been pushing yourself too hard and that a short break will do more for your peace of mind than anything else.

Two and two make five?

9th July 2007 - 15th July 2007

Should romance be on your mind Venus' arrival in your sign on Saturday will encourage those thoughts to become a reality. So, if you haven't got a special date in your diary for the weekend, don't lose a moment in making one. Indeed, someone could have some very warm feelings for you and only needs a signal from you to emerge from the shadows of his or her desires. Hyperbole aside, this is an excellent week to get behind your personal or professional goals, and the more unorthodox your methods the better. Sometimes even discriminating Virgo has to break a few rules in order to get what you want and so richly deserve.

Taking the plunge.

16th July 2007 - 22nd July 2007

From time to time Uranus puts on his magic hat and turns your love-life into a firework display - and one you'll enjoy. While some Virgos may be on the receiving end of a surprise gift or an unexpected proposal, others will be meeting and mixing with people who are different and very engaging. It may be that you are travelling to foreign parts or perhaps you are working in an unfamiliar area but whatever puts you in unusual territory promises to be a rewarding experience. You may be able to predict the course of a situation some of the time but not all of the time... Prepare to be taken out of yourself and to break a few of your own rules in the process.

New tricks.

23rd July 2007 - 29th July 2007

On Friday Venus in your sign performs an about-turn sending you a signal that all may not be quite as it seems with a love-affair or with a matter that is close to your heart. When planets turn retrograde they offer you an opportunity to re-think one or more issues and since Venus is the planet of love this trend applies first and foremost to romance. Relationships are organic things; they go through many seasons, so if someone's affections appear to be cooling or there is a strange sense of disconnection between you and another person, simply give the relationship and the situation room to breathe.

The need for space.

30th July 2007 - 5th August 2007

You may be feeling somewhat undermined at present. With the sun in the secretive twelfth house, you have to surrender control, whether this means you are temporarily away from your desk, so to speak, or you come to realize that no matter how much force you apply to a situation or the degree of pressure you place on someone, your will is not going to be obeyed! Strangely enough there is a great sense of lightness when you finally stop pushing and probing; more importantly a situation is free to come together in a way that is appropriate. You may not like everything that is happening but you will be grateful for it in the future.

Releasing your grip.

6th August 2007 - 12th August 2007

You're at your sizzling, sexy best this week, so seize the opportunity to be noticed. Sometimes the subtle approach works like magic but on other occasions you get results by showing you mean business and that you are head and shoulders above the competition. Virgo has a tendency to be too unassuming for its own good and under these stars you need to practice the art of self-promotion. A situation that has been sidelined is ready to be put back on the agenda and a show of strength and optimism will prevent an endeavour from sinking into oblivion. It's time to put let the power of faith do the work!

You can do it!

13th August 2007 - 19th August 2007

Keeping a low profile is advised, in part because you are not in full possession of the facts and also because you need time to build up your strength. The sun continues its journey through the subterranean twelfth house so you are a little more vulnerable and lot more likely to spring to erroneous conclusions. Normally, you like to take the role of healer and saviour, and people have come to look upon you as the one to clear up all their messes, but for this week at least do not volunteer your help nor agree to something that you do not want to do. The appearance of situations changes from day to day, and you will benefit from achieving all the distance and perspective you can.

Keeping your options open.

20th August 2007 - 26th August 2007

You may already know why this week is important for you but if you have nothing of significance penned in your diary, and you have a birthday on or near 2nd September, prepare for a week to remember. Mars and Jupiter are celebration in a bottle while the sun and Saturn bring a note of seriousness to the proceedings - perfect for a wedding, a brilliant career move or, plainly and simply having a ball! And even if you have a difficult decision to make or situations work out in a way that does not delight you, what is taking place at this time has the capacity to turn your life around - something you will only come to see at a future date.

Weighty matters.

27th August 2007 - 2nd September 2007

Get ready to rock and roll! Uranus and an eclipse set you on a new path and at the very least make for a week of interesting developments. Especially if you have a birthday on or near 9th September a release of some description is on the agenda, whether you are relieved of a responsibility or you unburden yourself of pent up feelings and ideas. And if this wasn't enough, Saturn arrives in your sign on Sunday with the intention of getting your life in ship-shape order. This process will take a couple of years during which time there will be tests and triumphs, and for a few Virgos this message will be issuing long and loud this week.

Mighty steps.

3rd September 2007 - 9th September 2007

This is either one of the most exciting periods of 2007 or quite the reverse. (You never know when Uranus is wearing his magician's hat whether he's producing pretty white rabbits out of it or making something disappear.) So, let's err on the side of caution and assume that something is going to stop you in your tracks, especially if your birthday is on or near the 9th. There are limits to your kindness and people do take advantage of your dedication and hard work, so if you have been suffering in silence you are about to voice your objections, and, if necessary, head out through the door marked exit. Things come and go at the speed of sound now.

A week to remember.

10th September 2007 - 16th September 2007

Well, you can't say life is dull. Since the end of August one alignment after another has encouraged you to see that things can change, sometimes in a heartbeat. And, if you are among that number of Virgos yet to experience the unexpected Tuesday's solar eclipse in your sign may well do the trick. This is your signal to get moving on your dearest ambitions: no one is going to make your dreams come true; it's down to you. So, if this means leaving an old way of life behind, so be it. One way or another there are revelations to come, even if this manifests as your finally hearing the voice of your own frustrated desires.

Move it!

17th September 2007 - 23rd September 2007

This is one powerful astro-scape, and one that will influence the next twelve months should you have a birthday this week. You may already have plans up your sleeve for a special occasion or, more importantly, you may have come to realize that if you don't take charge of your destiny, none of the things you hope for and dream about will come true. Whatever the case these influences are the sort that inspire you to shoot for the moon, or, rather, Pluto! While great things can come into being now it is also appropriate to shed some baggage - a process you can accomplish in practical terms or by relieving yourself of an emotional burden you can do without.

Lightening up.

24th September 2007 - 30th September 2007

As September draws to a close you are justified in believing that the worst is over, you have come through. Not everything may be in place but at least you have time to catch your breath and consider your next move. And finances may be top of the list for action. A deal could be agreed and an answer received and this is an excellent time to put together a new financial strategy and to find ways to get rid of over-heavy commitments. If I do have a reservation about this astro-scape it is that emotions will be running high and other people may not at first see the wisdom in your arguments. They will. It's just a question of time.

Reaching agreement.

1st October 2007 - 7th October 2007

Are you feeling excited for no apparent reason, or are the butterflies fluttering in your tummy? No surprise if you are experiencing some strange sensations: Jupiter and Uranus are poised to meet early next week with the intention of jolting you out of a comfortable little rut. You are more than ready for more stimulating company and it is time that you altered a pattern of life that has been stifling your creativity. Perhaps you had given up on a situation believing it would never happen but suddenly the wind has changed and your dearest wish could be about to be granted. October is a period of positive change, and it may all begin with a phone call, an email or an accidental meeting.

Lightening strikes.

8th October 2007 - 14th October 2007

Venus arrives in your sign on Monday morning all set to be your loving consort for the next four weeks but while Venus can produce the odd miracle all by herself, she will do even better with your assistance. Put another way, if you want something to happen, now is the moment to take action. You may not get an immediate result - Mercury's retrograde passage will see to that - but you will be sowing seeds in fertile soil. There is also much to be said for the surprise attack... You tend to do things by the book, which means other people can successfully predict your movements. Isn't it about time you showed them who they're really dealing with?

One step ahead.

15th October 2007 - 21st October 2007

Are you feeling the soothing balm of Venus in your sign? Well, this helpful planet may have had a run-in with Saturn recently that could have cooled a relationship or knocked your hopes into a cocked hat but this week she is at her loving best. While it may be too soon to try to rectify a recent upset it it the perfect time to mount a PR exercise intended to raise your professional profile or seize the attention of someone you would like to know better. There's also much to be gained by doing more research: you could find that you are better served by using or investing your money with a different organization and that statements made earlier do not reflect the current climate.

Being smart.

22nd October 2007 - 28th October 2007

Venus is mid-way through her transit of your sign and you too seem to have reached a half-way point in a relationship matter. You may have resigned yourself to an unsatisfactory situation or perhaps you have felt that the less said about something the quicker a relationship will return to normal. However, events this week may compel you to act. Information could emerge that puts a friendship or association in a new light or someone could make a move that changes the dynamics of your relationship. Either way, this is the perfect climate for a fresh start. Appearances don't matter now it's what you truly feel that counts.

Letting go.

29th October 2007 - 4th November 2007

Venus is making her gracious way through your sign so you may already have noticed a more upbeat quality to life and that your charm is working like, well, a charm! And if not, you may have reason to believe in your good fortune this week. Certainly, this is the moment to make your loving intentions known and to set out your market stall, whether for work or romance. There may have been some misunderstandings recently or other people may not have responded to your ideas or your pleas but you should drop the fear of rejection and expect to be treated as you deserve. As you may know by now, beautiful alignments like these are an oasis in a desert.

Choosing your moment.

5th November 2007 - 11th November 2007

Venus is poised to leave your sign but before she does she makes an important connection to Pluto, so, especially if you have a birthday on or near 19th September you are about to be shaken and stirred, albeit in a very pleasurable way. It could be that you have been trying to make up your mind over what to do about a relationship - are you in or are you out? - or, perhaps you have been sensing that a situation is changing direction and you are powerless to intervene. That is, until this week. You probably have more to say in a matter than you believe and by voicing your intent you can move a proverbial mountain.

Courage, mon brave!

12th November 2007 - 18th November 2007

It's not like you to be disorganized or uninformed but there's something about the astrology at the moment that has generated a degree of confusion in your life. This is not a terminal state of affairs, however, and if you take a step back now and refuse to be drawn into a situation which appears rife with contradictions, you will soon be back in the land of reason and common sense. Part of the problem may be that you have been given incorrect data and another reason is that someone is withholding information that would help unravel the plot, so to speak. Wherever you are headed this week, make sure you have a map, a compass and a baloney-meter!

Use your head.

19th November 2007 - 25th November 2007

You always make a good argument and your fine mind can get around the most complex issues but sometimes your words fall on deaf ears and your efforts to make progress are frustrated. However, the wind has changed and you can have real impact now. Someone who has been resistant to your ideas is opening up to you, and although you may not achieve your objectives in one fell swoop you will be on your way. Saturday's full moon brings to a close a major or minor chapter, thus enabling you to focus on creating new structures, both in relation to your career and life goals but also family life.

Setting sail.

26th November 2007 - 2nd December 2007

On Friday the sun makes its first angle to Saturn since it entered your sign in early September. This therefore could be the week you find out that an endeavour is made of the right stuff or just what obstacles you face trying to get a project off the ground. And since the area of home and family is in the frame, the biggest obstacle may prove to be a relative or a piece of real estate! If you receive the thumbs up, have confidence that this is the right move at the right time but should a red flag appear, withdraw for the moment and reconsider your options. All may not be lost but the route you have taken is not up to the job: an alternative can be found.

Repositioning yourself.

3rd December 2007 - 9th December 2007

It would be great if life obeyed your rules and situations worked out exactly as planned but, let's face it, life just isn't like that: it is contrary. With this in mind, do not expect people to live up to expectations this week, whether your opinion of them has been favourable until now or because you have assumed they were deeply flawed. Uranus is like that - revealing the other side of the coin. Big changes can take place at this time, both those that you yourself have set in motion and those that happen through force of circumstance, and for many Virgos these changes involve the home or people close to home.

New influences.

10th December 2007 - 16th December 2007

Jupiter and Pluto conjunctions evoke the best and worst in both people and events so if you know a tough meeting lies ahead or you have been trying to keep a situation together with string and sealing wax it's time to get out your big guns. With courage and the ability to confront someone or something in a no holds barred way you will be able to move forward. There are no guarantees that this week's events will produce the outcome you were hoping for but the cosmos is giving you the ammunition with which to overcome the opposition, whether your opponent is a person or the enemy-within - your own fears and self-imposed barriers.

Winning through.

17th December 2007 - 23rd December 2007

A milestone can be reached this week. On the one hand, Pluto is helping you to phase out inappropriate liaisons and outdated practises and, on the other, Jupiter's arrival in your fellow earth sign, Capricorn, is opening doors for you - and will continue to do so over the course of the next twelve months. So, it is another of those times of endings and beginnings, especially if you have a 24 August or 21 September birthday. The more courage you have, the better right now so don't be tempted to compromise your ambitions, feelings or standards in order to keep the peace or maintain the status-quo. You're about to find out whether you're a winner or a wimp!

Getting to the nitty-gritty.

24th December 2007 - 30th December 2007

Not for the first time will you be in your element - organizing and ensuring that everything goes according to plan. And for once, Saturn in your sign is fulfilling your expectations and giving you a pat on the back for all your long labours. But in the lather of activity and efficiency try not to miss out on the fun. Jolly Jupiter is in the perfect place to bring joy into your life, whether there is happy news on its way or you have an opportunity to let the wild-person-within without! Indeed, you may find that by displaying generosity, especially to someone who has not always behaved well, you will have the biggest Christmas present of all - love.

A fun-filled package.

31st December 2007 - 6th January 2008

You can behave like a terrier at times - once you have a bone to pick, you won't let it go - and it seems you begin the year with a bone of contention that may well have appeared before Christmas. Ideally, there should be honesty and commitment at this time, but what you will have to be careful of is sabotaging a perfectly good situation that is simply experiencing some temporary difficulties. Focus on the facts but allow for warmth and humour to filter through your comments. By contrast this is an excellent week to mount a campaign to streamline your life and/or reach a decision that will mean long-term changes to your lifestyle.

Stepping up to the plate.

7th January 2008 - 13th January 2008

Are you ready to take a daring step? This question is especially relevant should you have a birthday on or near 9th September, but whenever you were born planet Uranus is sending the winds of change blowing across your life landscape. At the very least you may find yourself gazing at your four square walls and deciding a fresh coat of paint might make a serious difference, but for many Virgos it's not a paint job that's required but a total transformation. As a sign you tend to think carefully before making any ground-breaking decisions but this is one of those times when you should obey your gut instincts - regardless of the consequences.

A liberating week.

14th January 2008 - 20th January 2008

Are you feeling restless? Do you need an outlet for your energies and desires? No surprise if you say yes - Venus and Mars are giving you spring-like thoughts (and, if you remember, 'in spring a young man's fancy turns to love...'). Especially if you have a 19 September birthday Venus is poised to unite with Pluto inspiring passionate feelings and bringing a relationship to the brink. Now, this may mean that you are ready to give your all to someone or it could mean that after a long struggle to keep a relationship together, there is really no option other than to throw in the towel. Expect a week of revelations.

All or nothing.

21st January 2008 - 27th January 2008

You may find that the answers you receive raise even more questions. On the one hand, Jupiter and Saturn provide substance and promote progress yet other factors generate uncertainty and emotional turbulence. Thus, when faced with information you have been hoping for you may find either there are errors or misunderstandings or that you haven't got what you expected at all. With this in mind, be flexible and fair-minded. When other people sense an openness and lack of resistance in you they will be less rigid and more accommodating. And you will be on your way to the outcome you had hoped for in the first place.

Patience and trust.

28th January 2008 - 3rd February 2008

In an ideal world you'd be taking a couple of weeks off and turning over your responsibilities and duties to others but since life is far from perfect you're going to have to find time to chill within your existing schedule. But this you can and should do. Virgos have a tendency to put themselves second and everyone else first and with a Venus-Jupiter conjunction in the area of pleasure and productivity, it's time you let some romance into your life or discovered the joy of doing what you, personally, want to do. Just how much Neptune will interfere with the enjoyment available rather depends but if something fails to materialize now, give it time.

Let loose a little.

4th February 2008 - 10th February 2008

Feeling dazed and confused is not an ideal state for you, the efficient pragmatist of the zodiac, but there is more than just a chance that someone or something has got your head - or is that your heart? - in a spin. Work is the area in focus this week so there could be rumours of change flying around the workplace or you could be dealing with people who and technical material that is failing to do what you want. In the main current events represent teething troubles not major upsets so do your best to remain positive about the future, tackling each and every problem one step at a time. And if your heart is beating wildly, consider yourself blessed, not cursed.

Confusion reigns.

11th February 2008 - 17th February 2008

This may be the most romantic week of the year according to the calendar but not in Virgo's book. You have much better things to come over the next few months. Now, this is not intended to throw doubt on your current romance or the plans for the future the two of you may have but it will prove to be a comfort should events and people not measure up to expectations on the 14th. Planet Neptune is responsible for any mix-ups and mis-communications and, although this may leave its most troublesome imprint on a close relationship, muddles and dis-information are most likely to proliferate at work. Whatever you do, stand firm and wait for truth to surface.

A tangled web.

18th February 2008 - 24th February 2008

Roughly six months ago a total lunar eclipse thrust into prominence the relationship axis of your solar chart, revealing the good, the bad and the ugly in both working associations and love affairs. On the 21st the second lunar eclipse in this cycle takes place, either bringing a relationship full circle or inspiring fresh developments that will alter the shape and texture of one or more of your associations. The August birthdays are likely to be most affected by these celestial developments but whenever you were born this is another of those points when destiny takes you by the hand and only when events have fully revealed themselves will you be able to make a choice.

Que sera, sera.

25th February 2008 - 2nd March 2008

You're on top of your game, and other people may have noticed. Work could be the focus for an extremely positive development and your efforts to bring out the best in yourself and colleagues could reap rich benefits, now and in the future. You seem to know the right words to say and the appropriate actions to make so should a problem arise deal with it immediately, preferably adding great dollops of charm to soothe troubled minds. There is room to manoeuvre in the most difficult situation so rather than assume a recent upset is irreversible, go back to those involved with an alternative option. You'll never know what you can achieve if you don't try...

A way through.

10th March 2008 - 16th March 2008

Cast your mind back a fortnight and you will find there is a link between the events of that time and those of this week. A proposal of a business or romantic nature may be signed and sealed now or, should you have turned a blind eye to someone's actions you may have to open it. Venus arrives in the area of relating on the 12th so there are four more weeks to discover what this planet can do for you in terms of your general success and, more specifically, your love life. Thus, should you experience a disappointment now, matters could change by mid-April and, if you are entirely happy with a commitment, things can only get better.

A reality check.

2nd March 2008 - 9th March 2008

This week's forecast has been delayed!
Please call back tomorrow!

3rd March 2008 - 9th March 2008

Once again you are faced with an astro-scape that is either over-the-top exciting or seriously destabilizing. Not only Pluto but also Uranus urges you to see someone or something in a brand new light, which will inevitably alter the fabric and direction of an intimate relationship or a working one. And even if a relationship is not at the centre of this week's events, other people have the capacity to amaze you with their actions. If you have been waiting for a signal to head in a new and unfamiliar direction, here it is with sparklers; likewise, if you've been hanging on to a situation that is fundamentally bad for you now is the moment to make the final cut.

Seeing the light.

17th March 2008 - 23rd March 2008

First Venus and now Mercury opposes Saturn in your sign providing another exercise in patience and trust. It may be that you have to put aside a plan and regroup or, despite a lot of hard work, someone is clearly not going to play ball. There are rationalizations to be made and preferably without rancour and recriminations. Now, it could be that you are on the winning side, so to speak, even so this is not the time to crow about your achievement but to be wary of how it is being viewed by others. Enemies made at this point and events set in motion will have repercussions further down the line thus a policy of charity in victory is a wise one.

Knowing your higher self.

24th March 2008 - 30th March 2008

This is either a hugely exciting period of the year or one in which you are being forcibly ejected out of your comfort zone. Uranus likes nothing better than to surprise and amaze so if a special occasion lies ahead allow a little room for last moment changes. Relationships are the focus for much of this week's roller-coaster ride, urging some Virgos to throw convention to the winds and follow their hearts, regardless of what people may think, and others to deal with a set of developments that alters the direction of a long-term association. Nonetheless, with Jupiter in the mix there is an overriding sense that all this is happening for the best.

The things people do...

31st March 2008 - 6th April 2008

An old issue comes back to be resolved and you will be reminded of times past, whether through people who reappear in your life or situations that have considerable history to them. It will be well nigh impossible to make light of issues or to evade a matter that has been the equivalent of the-elephant-in-the-living-room. However, what gets done and dusted will leave you feeling freer and lighter. It may be that you have to give up a battle of some description or, perhaps, you will have to give way to forces more powerful than yourself but in the long run this will be far better for you. It's not every day you get such a valuable lesson.

Fate steps in.

7th April 2008 - 13th April 2008

You are by nature a circumspect sign but occasionally there are advantages to being immoderate in your opinions and actions. And this is one of those times. Economy is not feature of these stars, whether we're looking at the current financial picture or having dialogues with others: indeed, you could change the whole complexion of a situation by showing your enthusiasm and commitment. Our feelings about any given matter influence how we see it and how it turns out, so, even if you do this in the spirit of experiment, try looking at a situation in a much more positive light and watch what happens.

Seeing the best.

14th April 2008 - 20th April 2008

This mid-to-late part of April is an extremely go-ahead period for you, both in terms of travel and life-progress. On the 19th the sun moves into the far-horizons sector of your horoscope, bringing people and places at a distance closer to you. A long journey could be in the planning and for a few Virgos this will involve an extended stay abroad. And in general your prospects are looking brighter than they have for some while. Nonetheless, should you be coping still with a pressing problem there are signs of movement, some of it inspired by your own ability to gain a better perspective on things. Great change occurs only when we are ready for it.

A new outlook.

21st April 2008 - 27th April 2008

You are being given a terrific boost by the planets so don't leave it a moment longer to make an all-important decision. Take advantage of the surprise move by contacting an individual or company central your happiness or the achievement of a goal and you will get a result. Certainly, this is a time when enterprise and confidence are rewarded and the more positive your outlook the sooner those ships of yours can come in. Finances could be the primary focus for your efforts, although you may find that good news comes out of the blue or that a payment/agreement you have been waiting for arrives. As the cliché goes: nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Riding the wave.

28th April 2008 - 4th May 2008

You are being encouraged to spread your wings at the moment, whether in the sense of travelling to places you have never been to before or heading into unfamiliar territory regarding work or your love life. With this in mind, do not be put off by a rumour or your own self-doubts, especially in the early part of the week. Other people might well be jealous of you and fearful that you will find the success that they have not so where your heart is concerned (and anything else that you have in your sights) have the courage to move beyond your self-imposed boundaries. You may also experience a sense that the chains that once bound you, no longer do so.

Gaining your liberty.

5th May 2008 - 11th May 2008

It's that time of year when distant places loom into view. This could be because you are about to set off on holiday or make a journey of many, many miles or it may be because information reaching you and discussions taking place open up new avenues of possibility. Either way, this is a positive period of 2008 and one when you should be considering broadening your field of expertise and stretching the boundaries of your life experience. And for some Virgos this expansion has much to do with someone you love or a person who or organization that is far away. Be courageous and optimistic - you'll only regret not taking a chance.

Going the extra mile.

12th May 2008 - 18th May 2008

This is not the first time this year that I have mentioned you have far to go in 2008, but this is one occasion when that promise could be fulfilled. Yes, you could be clutching your ticket to distant shores; yes, you could be on your way to meeting someone who will make a big difference to your life but it is the journey you make in terms of understanding and faith that counts now. Set-backs and disappointments should be laid to one side and you must allow your generous and hopeful spirit to shine through your actions. Whatever comes into being in this mid-May period will prove life-enhancing and certainly illuminating.

Faith-backed actions.

19th May 2008 - 25th May 2008

Three months ago you may have come to a decision which has taken until this time to put in motion. Likewise, events of early March may only now be revealing their true potential. Saturn has a big role to play in this week's developments so you have an opportunity to show what a strong person and a serious contender you are. Then again, if you have made an error of judgement you'll probably discover the cost of that mistake during the next few days. There's much you can do to strengthen your position and it seems you need to take a firm hand rather than allowing situations to come together in their own way. It's not the time to trust to luck.

Staying strong.

26th May 2008 - 1st June 2008

A red light appears. Now, this does not mean you will not be able to reach your target in the future but it does imply that there is a fault in the planning or the timing such that a period in which to set matters to rights - or gain a better picture of the situation - is required. It seems your career is in the frame here, whether the powers that be are having a major re-think or because you are experiencing some kind of conflict at work. By complete contrast, there could be a firm offer on the table. However, if this is indeed the case, you would be wise to take time with your decision since you may not be getting the full story.

Take your time.

2nd June 2008 - 8th June 2008

The area of career and life goals is the frame. On the one hand, an offer that was withdrawn could be back on the table and, on the other, a journey over old ground will ease a situation in difficulty. Indeed, revisiting the past has huge benefits all round. Virgo prefers a behind-the-scenes position - you're not one of the zodiac's attention-seekers - but people have noticed your talents and your charms, and you should be ready to capitalize on your assets now. A phone call to someone of power and influence should be made and instead of down-playing your skills and ambitions you should strut your stuff with pride.

Front of the queue.

9th June 2008 - 15th June 2008

Uranus has been keeping a low profile recently but he's back with a vengeance. The unconventional and the unexpected are the hallmarks of this planet, and although the events he inspires can upset your timetable, more often than they awaken and liberate you. With this in mind, do not rattle someone's chain if you want that person to stay in your life; then again, maybe you should ask yourself why you're continuing to pussy-foot around someone who is not prepared to accommodate you and your needs. Romances begin and end like a summer storm under these stars; what they won't do is run true to form.

Surprise, surprise.

16th June 2008 - 22nd June 2008

Think back to March. Did someone come into your life then? Was a project begun or a big decision made? If so, there should be a denouement this week. Under these stars situations reach a head and in the their wake come new ways forward. First and foremost this theme applies to your career but in whatever area of life a crossroads appears, you are more than equipped to make the right choice. At the very least, these next seven days clears away any fog in your own mind and once you have clarity you can start making plans. And even if everything in the garden is rosy for you, your wisdom and support could be required by others.

Making a choice.

23rd June 2008 - 29th June 2008

Saturn is a harsh critic and a severe task-master, as you have probably discovered over the last few months, however, occasionally he can do you a genuine favour, which he does this week. You have a lot more control of the ball now so if you have been failing to make an impression or not getting very far with a negotiation, get back in the ring and start making moves. Friends and colleagues could prove particularly helpful and even though you are self-reliant and used to other people coming to you for wisdom and support, being honest with others about your needs and wishes will produce great results.

Accepting the hand of friendship.

30th June 2008 - 6th July 2008

Have you been feeling ever so slightly lethargic? Uncertain whether or not to take action? Not so after Tuesday. Mars enters your sign giving you the courage to take up arms against anything or anyone standing in your way. Of course, there will be a price to pay – you won't have a moment's peace and arguments will be breaking out all around you but it is about time you got moving. There is plenty of change and opportunity to these stars too so even if you are reluctant to reveal the warrior-within you should have the energy and the spirit to enjoy every occasion to the full. And if passion has been off the menu, it's about to make a serious comeback.

Up 'em and at 'em.

7th July 2008 - 13th July 2008

Feisty Mars meets hard-nosed Saturn so a confrontation is on the cards. Now, this may manifest as a need to face your own feelings about someone or something, or it could be that you have been blind to a problem and require enlightenment. Either way, any wake-up calls are clearly in your best interests. Then again, this astro-scape could preside over a major break-through, one that has life-changing properties. Certainly, the week ahead has the potential to give you a whole new perspective on life, love and the rest... Whatever you do, however, don't head down that river of denial because you will be missing a great opportunity to change your life for the better.

Facing reality.

14th July 2008 - 20th July 2008

What separates the winners from the losers is the ability both to take a risk and to get back in the saddle after an upset. So, which are you? You could well find out under these stars since there is a real opportunity to show what you're truly made of, especially in light of a recent difficulty. Confidence is going to be half the battle now, so even if you fear rejection or ridicule, by putting on a bright and determined face you will melt the opposition. (And you will certainly prove a lot to yourself.) And if you have major events already in the diary, put those doubts away and enjoy your moment in the sun.

Success is in the mind of the believer.

20th July 2008 - 27th July 2008

A pragmatic sign like yours believes that rewards come through effort and skill but sometimes you need a dose of sheer good luck. And Mars-Jupiter combos are luck in a bottle. You could find yourself in the right place at the right time, you may act on a sudden impulse and discover you've done the very best thing or someone could become the agent of good fortune for you. Certainly, it's been a long while since the cosmos has given you such an overwhelming vote of approval. At the very least you could find out that an unwelcome development earlier in the month does have its plus points.

Counting your blessings.

28th July 2008 - 3rd August 2008

You may feel you are being kept in the dark or that you are not sure which way to go, however, there is light at the end of the tunnel. It may take until later this month before you see where a situation is leading or what your decision should be but if you are adept at reading signs you may be able to discern the writing on the wall this week. Be especially attentive to your dreams and prepared to recognize that your unconscious needs and desires are beginning to manifest. And when covert wishes are coming true it may seem as if events beyond your control are taking over your life. Food for thought, no doubt.

Be careful what you wish for.

4th August 2008 - 10th August 2008

Life could not be more contrary or confusing. While you yourself may be unsure as to what is the right way to deal with a situation information reaching you could be conflicting and other people will not be helping with the process of finding peace and equilibrium. One factor you will need to watch out for, especially mid-week, is making silly mistakes because you are unfocused or trying to accomplish too many tasks. A moment's lapse of attention, a sudden flash of irritation could contribute to a headache you didn't really need. This having been said, if you are ready to make some life changes you couldn't have better stars.

Focus, focus...

11th August 2008 - 17th August 2008

A little over five weeks ago you may have come up against an obstacle of some description or were faced with a hard decision, in which case a further piece of the story could unfold this week. Certainly, there is a relationship between the events of early July and now, which may well help you negotiate this rather complex week. In some ways this is the right moment to nail your colours to the mast but if there is an element of doubt in your mind, it will be preferable to hold off for a little while longer. A lunar eclipse is often coincident with fateful developments so although you may not have control over what precisely happens, you can choose how to react.

Exercising free-will.

18th August 2008 - 24th August 2008

Almost as soon as the sun arrives in your sign (22nd) information appears that throws your preconceived ideas into the trash can. Some new thinking is well overdue on a relationship – or, indeed, a matter that has refused to budge for way too long – and although that information may propel you into a tail-spin, once it is absorbed, you will be thankful. Surprises of one sort or another are on the menu and especially over the weekend try not to become paranoid about someone's strange behaviour – he or she may well be putting together something that will please and delight you. On the other hand, keep your eyes open for silly mistakes.

Eyes wide open.

25th August 2008 - 31st August 2008

2008 may be going down as the year of many crossroads and thanks to Pluto here comes another. It may be that you have been dealing with a situation for many moons and several decisions have been made already; on the other hand, events during the course of the week ahead could mark the beginning of such a process. There is always an element of confrontation and elimination with Pluto but provided you yourself get behind such issues it can be an entirely therapeutic experience. Nonetheless, if you run into a major roadblock this week, do your best to take a step back before casting a final verdict. After all, you don't want to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Decisions, decisions.

1st September 2008 - 7th September 2008

Normally, a sun-Saturn conjunction in your sign would be something to moan about, given that Saturn tends to pour cold water on your hopes and plans, however, on this occasion, Jupiter is waiting in the wings. Now, this may manifest as a cloud with a silver lining or it may indicate that a difficulty handled well will not only give you a sense of triumph but could take you precisely where you want to go. While you are a sign that is innately cautious and not given to trumpeting your talents or your feelings a show of confidence and passion could make a big difference to your future. And it will certainly show other people that you're still in it to win it!

A show of strength.

8th September 2008 - 14th September 2008

The plus factor about a shake-up is that it makes you aware of what has been lurking unrecognized under the surface. And it seems as though something will stir you into wakefulness this week. A long-standing situation which has experienced no movement for months may suddenly change and someone who has been very non-committal could be ready to make a decision. There is also a possibility that a working or intimate relationship will snap under the pressure of unexpected developments. In the event of the latter, remind yourself that there was nothing you could really do to prevent such outcomes - they have been a long time coming.

In the blink of an eye.

15th September 2008 - 21st September 2008

You appear to be getting rid of excess baggage. And it is a good thing. Earlier in the month, Saturn urged you to face a reality and now Pluto helps you sort it. What you won't be able to do though is have your cake and eat it too. Something's got to give. Should a property be part of the equation, give serious thought to cutting your price or accepting a lesser deal in order to move on. There is not a lot to be gained by digging in your heals or fighting fire with fire. And although there are many plus points to this week of endings and beginnings, you will discover them by taking a less adversarial stance.

Bend like a reed in the river.

22nd September 2008 - 28th September 2008

Temptation could come in all forms this week but top of the list is a spend-fest in retail heaven! Before you buy, be absolutely sure it is right for you and, more importantly, that you can take it back if it proves faulty. And this same advice could apply to other aspects of life. You have got your rose-coloured spectacles on, which is fine if you need to gloss over a good friend's genuine mistake or a less than ideal gift but not all right if your hard-earned money is at risk or your heart and reputation. Double-check everything from a bill to a statement of 'fact', and if you have to put your signature to an agreement, only do so with an escape clause and a guarantee of protection.

Safety-first.

29th September 2008 - 5th October 2008

Conflicting signals are being given to you at the moment so you can be forgiven for feeling confused. While Monday's new moon in the zone of finances is indicative of fresh developments of a positive nature, Mercury continues on its backward journey creating financial log-jams and considerable irritation. Of course, this may not be the only area of life to be issuing mixed messages but money matters certainly require a lot of care and patience. Especially where the sale and purchase of a property is concerned, expect some hidden flaws to appear so don't be too hasty to open the champagne or drape the crepe.

The fat lady hasn't sung yet...

6th October 2008 - 12th October 2008

There's good news on the horizon. Maybe you'll hear someone say precisely what you have longed to hear or perhaps you'll receive a welcome invitation. On the other hand, there's a lot you can do to help these influences do their job. Despite the economic gloom, there are ways and means to get around a problem and to sow seeds of future enrichment. Therefore, if you have been considering making an investment of some description now would be the time to do so. You will find also that a show of strength and confidence will bring people around to your way of thinking. Go on, put on that happy face.

Positive input.

13th October 2008 - 19th October 2008

This is an ideal time to tie up financial loose ends and to set your money house in order. Tuesday's full moon highlights the good, the bad and the mediocre where finances are concerned and it may coincide with a settlement or closure on a property. Money may not be the only issue under the spotlight, however, and it could be that after a period of uncertainty for a relationship you know where the two of you are headed. From the 15th Mercury will be back on track so you can have confidence in the offers that other people are extending and you yourself will be able to make a decision and stick to it.

Getting there.

20th October 2008 - 26th October 2008

This is not the time to hold back but to go bravely forward. Ask yourself what you have to lose, whether the question relates to establishing where you stand in a romantic relationship or making an upwardly mobile career move - or indeed going after a goal of any description. People will respond to your positive attitude, and you will benefit from proving to yourself that you can stick your head above the parapet and live to tell the tale! Finances get the Jupiter treatment this week, which means either you've got to speculate to accumulate, pay a large bill or address an over-heavy monetary commitment. Follow the law of prosperity and expect to add to your lot.

Upping your value.

27th October 2008 - 2nd November 2008

You can gain a much better grip on situations and someone who has been unpredictable or prickly will be far easier to handle. Therefore, make contact while you have this little window of opportunity. With Mars in the zone of communication you are the one with the ideas and the person who can get matters moving in the right direction. Of course, it is nicer when someone else shows you how valued you are and to your advantage when others reveal their hand first but there is also tremendous satisfaction in making a pre-emptive move and exerting your power. If life were an ocean a wave would be building that you simply have to surf.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

3rd November 2008 - 9th November 2008

People may well surprise you by their actions this week. On the one hand, you may be on the receiving end of an offer that will change your direction, if not the course of your life, and, on the other, someone may suddenly pull out of an agreement or take a step that throws your relationship out of kilter. This is a period in which people are reaching the end of their tethers and a time when radical moves are necessary for survival, so whether it is you who must protect your interests (and your heart) or you who must bear the consequences of someone else's conclusions, know that it is the right thing for now.

Doing the right thing.

10th November 2008 - 16th November 2008

Analysis and research come naturally to Virgo, however, even you could be stumped for a solution this week. There is so much conflicting information to be had that deciding which direction to follow could lead to a kind of paralysis. Not that this is such a bad thing: when you cannot see where to go, you should stand still until you can. Travel and communications could be in the mainframe here, so if you are embarking on an important journey leave plenty of time for it and make sure you have a plan B up your sleeve. Likewise, if you're heading into meetings be prepared for someone to throw you a curved ball. All this will pass...

Seeing double.

17th November 2008 - 23rd November 2008

You rarely allow your optimism to lead you astray, in fact you're far more likely to pour cold water on a vague promise or possibility simply to eradicate any chance of a disappointment. But there are times, and this is one of them, when you should have confidence in your plans and a belief in yourself that cannot be dented. There is an astrological link between events that took place in early September and those of the coming week, so you may find that someone comes back to you with a positive response or that you reap the benefits of an investment made earlier. Whatever you do, don't believe the nay-sayers.

Self-belief.

24th November 2008 - 30th November 2008

You can point the finger at Uranus for any relationship upsets or romantic sparks, and with this planet turning direct on the 27th, the trend of the past five months is about to be reversed. In some cases this means that a relationship that began in June is ready to morph into a full blown commitment or take its place in the history book of past loves; in other cases, after a few months of difficulty or uncertainty in a long-standing partnership, matters are ready to resolve themselves. A member of the family could prove instrumental in helping move a process forward and if there has been a question mark over a property, an answer will shortly appear.

Knowing who, when or what.

1st December 2008 - 7th December 2008

You may need to go back to the events of early November to see why and what is happening now. It seems you must find the balance between remaining true to institutions that and people who have stood the test of time, on the one hand, and, on the other, cutting your ties with certain individuals and taking an untried path. Ultimately the choice is yours, of course, but you might need to ask yourself why you would stay with a situation that is not delivering, and probably will never deliver? Monday's Venus-Jupiter conjunction lightens the load considerably and it may well be that a story has a happy ending at last.

Courage and confidence.

8th December 2008 - 14th December 2008

This is one of the more important junctures of the year. It is as though the missing piece of a giant jigsaw puzzle has appeared so now you can see the whole picture. In some cases what will come together this week is the stuff of pure happiness but in others it is quite the reverse. Nonetheless, in time to come, any current disappointments will be seen as blessings in disguise. Certain situations cannot go on in their old form; they have to change radically, and if they cannot alter then they must be set aside. Since early November Saturn and Uranus have been encouraging you to see that not everything was built to last, and it is probably time to move on.

A reality check.

15th December 2008 - 21st December 2008

The Christmas spirit does not seem to have arrived in Virgo land yet but it will, especially if you stop worrying so much. Concentrate on small triumphs and by the time you reach the end of the week you'll have a little pile of good jobs done. The reason for any drop in optimism levels is a testy little angle between Mars and Saturn, which tends to push you to your limits, whether in the sense of physically draining you or placing obstacle after obstacle in the way of your progress. Especially where a member of the family is concerned, stop trying to appease him or her and put the health and happiness of the majority to the fore.

Establishing your priorities.

22nd December 2008 - 28th December 2008

Some people feel it is safer to put only part of oneself into a project; some people believe that you should hold something back, just in case a situation doesn't pan out. This may be true where money is concerned, for instance, but as far as affairs of the heart go, you cannot be half-in or half-out of a relationship. And it seems you or a partner need to decide where you are with each other. All manner of issues come to a head at this point in the year – not necessarily of a romantic nature - and while there may be an element of fate as to events themselves they will serve to help you make a decision. Great steps can be taken now.

All or nothing?

29th December 2008 - 4th January 2009

This may not be the most ebullient start to a new year but you may well be looking at that champagne glass half empty. 2009 is not going to be the same as 2008 and, aside from changing your mind-set here, it may behove you to go back over some of the moves you made last year and attempt to rectify them. Saturn turns retrograde in your sign on the 31st and while this planet makes its way over old ground you too can repair some damage. On Saturday, Venus swings into the area of love and relationships all set to show you that someone loves you and that there are attractive people in the world with whom you can partner up.

No time for tears.

5th January 2009 - 11th January 2009

The second week of the year and already we're talking about endings. However, these are not unhappy endings. It seems a gestation period is over, whether in the real sense of a baby being born or an endeavour being ready for public consumption. Then there's love and romance... For some Virgos a relationship is ready to move onto a new level of commitment – you're becoming an official couple. Perhaps too you are sensing that even if it is still going to take some time to get your life in better shape you are much further ahead than you were some months ago, and already 2009 has a subtly different quality about it. Is there any champagne left?

Rationalization.

12th January 2009 - 18th January 2009

There's no point fretting about people who are not responding to your queries. You may have started the year with the energy and determination of a beaver with a dam to build but not everyone else has. It may take another three weeks before you acquire the answers you need and until dates can be firmly set in the diary, so do yourself a favour and enjoy the January sunshine. What you can usefully do this week is return to a matter that aired earlier in December or you could take the time and trouble to nurture a work-related connection. Creating and strengthening your infra-structures will turn out to be a very valuable exercise.

Using your time.

19th January 2009 - 25th January 2009

This is an interesting period for relationships. On the one hand, you could meet someone who will awaken you to wonderful and certainly very different possibilities – and we're not just talking love and romance here – and, on the other, a partnership or association could be hanging on by a thread. There is really not a lot you can do to change someone's mind if he or she is determined on a specific action or has undergone a change of heart, however you have a huge amount of control over what you do. Saturn and Uranus represent restriction versus liberation... Ask yourself which you choose. Your answer might prove very interesting.

Sink or swim.

26th January 2009 - 1st February 2009

This may be turning out to be an eventful January. Solar eclipses are like that – they throw you a curved ball and give you a nano-second to respond. Fortunately, Mercury turns direct on Sunday so you are in a much better position to make a decision. Work is the most likely source of surprise and opportunity, whether you are offered a job out of the blue or there are unexpected upsets to plans. Whatever the developments of the next few days – and throughout February – assume you are being given a chance to do something very different with your life. Even a small change could make a huge difference.

Going forward.

2nd February 2009 - 8th February 2009

On the 5th Saturn in Virgo opposes Uranus for the second time in three months thus you have an opportunity to complete a process that was begun last November or events will take you back to that period – and with good purpose. With Saturn in your sign you have to make grown-up decisions, and since Uranus is the challenger you cannot rely on old strategies nor the rules that were once in play. The goal posts have moved. This trend is particularly active in regard to your love life and relationships in general so do not be tied to the past and be prepared use some surprise tactics yourself. There has to be a new way forward and only you can find it.

Breaking new ground.

9th February 2009 - 15th February 2009

With Neptune at the centre of cosmic affairs, this is either the most romantic Valentine's Day ever or the most disappointing. Work is the primary focus for this week of weird or wonderful developments so aside from avoiding slip-ups with machinery and the written and spoken word, the rumours could be doing the rounds. Until the facts can be established you are far better keeping your distance and not buying into the drama; likewise, if someone seems to be behaving in an odd manner, do some research before reaching for the emergency button. What is true will remain true; only what is false will be exposed.

The currency of truth.

16th February 2009 - 22nd February 2009

This early part of 2009 puts a major focus on relationships of all kinds. On the one hand, new partnerships gather momentum while relationships that are tired and tattered get a work out. Now the sun's entry into the seventh house of relating consolidates the work already done and opens the door to yet more changes. There will be times during the year when you get to call the shots but this is unlikely to be one of them - your life is deeply affected by partners in particular and other people in general and it is your role to listen, learn and adapt. Not that this will prove to be a difficult role this week since there is plenty of optimism to go round.

Partners - you can't live with them, you can't live without them.

23rd February 2009 - 1st March 2009

A new moon in the area of relationships starts a fresh cycle for your love life. This may herald a new romance, a marriage or developments that will alter the shape and texture of a relationship. Of course, this trend does not apply merely to liaisons romantique but to working associations so a new business contact could be on its way and/or a contract with an organization. It's hard to see anything negative in these influences, however, if you believe someone is being disloyal or that a relationship is becoming increasingly fragile, don't turn a blind eye but start considering your options.

A new chapter.

2nd March 2009 - 8th March 2009

This is a perfect storm in astrological terms – Neptune, Saturn and Uranus all lined up to test your resolve and tie you up in ever more complex knots. Usually, when others are running around like headless chickens, your analytical mind proves to be an asset but at this point in the year, the more you look at a situation the less sense it makes. Indeed, you might be better waiting at least another couple of weeks before doing anything concrete. While you should not assume the worst you should revise your back-up plans, if only to give you confidence in a climate of doubt. There is a huge amount of misinformation doing the rounds.

Smoke and mirrors.

9th March 2009 - 15th March 2009

Did you say you were becoming ever so slightly bored? Well, you have to be careful what you wish for because when Uranus arrives on the scene, everything changes. There are no accidents as far as the people you meet and the actions others take – this is a time when fate steps in a takes a hand in your affairs. It is also a time when love blossoms unexpectedly and someone who has kept his or her feelings secret reveals all. And should you be among that group of Virgos for whom relationships are far from stable what happens during the course of this week could finally upend the love boat. Be philosophical.

The wild card.

16th March 2009 - 22nd March 2009

This is by no means an easy week, although it should be purposeful, even delivering something of a victory. You are standing in Saturn's shoes, which means you have a strong sense of obligation and a firm understanding of what is right and wrong, workable and non viable, however this is not quite the same as remaining stuck in a time warp, or plain and simply stuck. And of this you should remind yourself should you encounter a road block. Maybe someone is moving the goal-posts or perhaps a romantic or business association is proving difficult but sometimes if you yield ground the opposition gives way too.

Seeing change.

23rd March 2009 - 29th March 2009

Other people could be difficult to read and situations more complex than you had initially believed. You have a fine mind for detail but sometimes you can become bogged down in minutia thus should a difficulty arise, especially one with financial overtones, take a step back and try to see the whole picture. A large settlement could be reached now or you could be in receipt of an unexpected windfall. However, these are extreme influences so the trend for losses and blunders is equally strong. Money aside this could be a very important period for the future of a relationship: passions are running high and actions taken are likely to be irrevocable.

All or nothing?

30th March 2009 - 5th April 2009

Under these stars chickens come home to roost – and you may be in the fortunate position of watching other people eat humble pie. On the other hand, maybe you are beginning to realize that an action you took some time ago is having some unexpected consequences. First and foremost this notion applies to finances: perhaps you made a move that appeared to be wise at the time but now things have changed; or maybe you made a decision regarding a relationship that you are starting to regret. This may be stating the obvious but what is done is done and in the fullness of time it will be seen to have been right. You cannot go back.

6th April 2009 - 12th April 2009

The Mars-Saturn opening to the week might not be the most cheerful but it is purposeful. Perhaps you have been analysing the rights and wrongs, pluses and minuses, to a certain course of action and now you know what must be done. On the other hand, maybe you have needed one more piece of information to help make up your mind, and here it comes. You won't be able to haggle or put a gloss on a situation but you will get people to state their intentions and you will know where you stand. And this has to be a good thing. On the 11th, Venus moves back into the area of relationships giving you an opportunity to rekindle an old flame... Knowing what's what.

27th April 2009 - 3rd May 2009

It will be worth your while taking a second look at a financial option. Things have changed in recent weeks and what might have seemed unviable earlier in the year could work very nicely now. Likewise, if you were rejected before now might be a good moment to make another offer. (Your resolve will certainly impress other people.) Visiting the past is the theme of the week and there is buried treasure to be found if you dig deep enough. A close relationship could also benefit from a heart to heart and if passion has been off the menu for a little too long, don't be surprised if it makes an unexpected come-back.

Courage wins votes.

13th April 2009 - 19th April 2009

If your heart is currently beating like a humming-bird you can thank Uranus for awakening you to love. This planet may be one of the bad boys of the zodiac but without him life would be very dull. More importantly your heart might never open. So, forget about what other people will think and jump into the love boat. Conversely, if you're hanging on like a barnacle to a very rocky relationship wear your lifebelt at all times! You could hear some unexpected news from a partner or you may discover that all is not quite as you thought with a romantic or working situation. Enlightenment comes with a cost – but a worthwhile one.

Surprise, surprise!

20th April 2009 - 26th April 2009

Sometimes there are real benefits in not knowing where you're going. I realize this is anathema to the precision-oriented Virgo but if you are on the horns of a dilemma or being pressed to make a move about which you are uncertain, all you can do is go with your gut. While travel may indeed turn out to be a bit of a magical mystery tour, it will be the actions you need to take over finances or work that are likely to throw you into a tail spin. Some hidden factors are coming to light now but rather than wasting time and emotions on why, who, what and when, accept the situation has irrevocably changed; you cannot go back.

Trust your instincts.

4th May 2009 - 10th May 2009

One word neatly sums up this astro-scape: completion. You may be able to close on a sale or wrap up an agreement and if you are currently engaged in a legal matter, arguments may end this week. However, for a few Virgos what happens during the course of the next few days means that a situation must be placed on hold. When Mercury performs an about-turn you have to think more carefully about the actions you are taking and sometimes, if there are potential errors or the timing is not right, you are forced back over work already completed or agreements reached. There is a purpose to everything; even retrograde Mercury.

Taking your time.

11th May 2009 - 17th May 2009

At last Saturn in your sign turns direct giving you a sense of renewed determination and enabling you to find your feet. Between now and the end of October a plan that has been off the drawing board or a situation in which you have lost heart could be back in business. There is a proviso, however, and that is the item in question must be worthy of you. Should you see signs of hope this week, allow your spirits to rise but not to the extent that you burn a bridge or invest your life-savings in an idea with no substance. I'm a great believer in faith-backed actions, which have a near supernatural way of overpowering the opposition, but some concrete evidence cannot harm...

Better times ahead.

18th May 2009 - 24th May 2009

Creating boundaries may be essential but while Jupiter and Neptune are dominating astrological affairs life will be very fuzzy round the edges. And to a certain extent it will be better to allow situations to unfold without trying to influence them. When you find yourself in an unfamiliar place without maps or reference points, other instincts surface to guide you forward, and this little piece of wisdom can be applied to any situation that is confusing. Relax your grip and follow your instincts. The new moon of the 24th sets in motion a new cycle for career and long term goals, and within a month you can expect a positive change, and certainly a fresh outlook.

Going with the flow.

25th May 2009 - 31st May 2009

By the weekend you should be better informed and back on the road to reason so, if earlier in the week, you are puzzled by information reaching you or in doubt about someone's actions, don't go into melt-down. Not only has retrograde Mercury been leading you up some blind alleys but the fog of Neptune has been all-pervasive. Of course, you may instead be entirely swept up by the enchanting quality of events, in which case you should enjoy every moment, especially if you have been bitten by the love bug. Work looks to be the one area in need of some real clarity at the moment, and it may take some months before you know precisely how a set of changes will work. And even if your position is safe, it won't hurt to look at some alternatives.

Getting there. Slowly.

1st June 2009 - 7th June 2009

If there was a phrase that would sum up this week's stars it would be: the end of the matter. A full moon and Saturn combine to set a situation in cement and to show you in no uncertain terms what is workable and what is not. In some cases this involves an endeavour that experienced a set back some months ago and may be about to turn the corner. By contrast, you could receive the thumbs down to a project in which you have invested time and hope. In many ways, you are in a position of strength and it may fall to you to make the final decision. Whatever the case, you have a choice as to where you go from here.

Saying yes or no.

8th June 2009 - 14th June 2009

In an ideal world you'd be setting off on your travels, preferably to a very distant place. The astrology is all about the lure of far horizons and the intoxicating pleasure of romance. Of course, you don't have to physically travel to get away from the real world: this you can do by being with people who lift your spirits or by immersing yourself in activities that elevate the soul. On the other hand, there is a danger within these alignments of believing what you want to believe rather than what is real and true. Hardly a Virgo proclivity but sometimes when you over- analyse a situation you lose sight of it completely.

Food for thought.

15th June 2009 - 21st June 2009

Other people have the capacity to surprise you and upset your timetable, if not a major part of your agenda, however, in the process they could be doing you a great favour. It has been Uranus's job to keep you on your toes and ensure that you learn to adapt to anyone and anything so you could just think of this week's developments as another exercise in flexibility. On the other hand, you could stand up for yourself and refuse to allow someone to manipulate you and interfere with your plans. Either way, the tantalizing scent of liberation is in the air, all you have to do is breathe it in and be empowered.

Seeing the light.

22nd June 2009 - 28th June 2009

You probably won't feel like rolling out the red carpet and partying till dawn – Saturn is, after all, the one planet least likely to welcome excesses of any description – but you will be able to look at a situation warts and all and reach a sensible conclusion. In fact, conclusions are everywhere you look in this astro-scape. You can bring an end to speculation, you can close a chapter and you will be able say I do or I don't, I will or I won't. And that's an achievement. The last couple of years have done much to make you stronger and more sure of yourself but there could still be a matter or two over which you are compromising. It's time to say your piece.

Stepping up to the plate.

29th June 2009 - 5th July 2009

You have every reason to feel dreamy and distracted at present; indeed, if you are trying to work on facts and figures, don't be surprised if you make a few errors. Once again it is the Jupiter-Neptune influence tempting you away from the straight and narrow and encouraging you to remember you have a soul that requires nurture and expression. Don't be afraid to go with your gut instincts now – it will be the cosmic angels who are prompting you, and if you follow their guidance you cannot go wrong. Even if your plans are upset and a miscarriage of fate appears to be happening, know that all is going precisely as it should.

The force is with you.

6th July 2009 - 12th July 2009

You can analyse as much as you like but you're probably not going to make a lot of sense out of what is happening. First, it may be too soon to establish the truth and, second, you may have far too much on your plate to be your usual discriminating self. A project or relationship begun roughly six months ago could be at a pivotal stage but whether the fruits of your labours are proving successful or looking somewhat doubtful, you will make a gain of some description. Especially where a work situation is concerned, do not buy into rumours, neither becoming unrealistically hopeful nor unnecessarily negative.

Hold that thought.

13th July 2009 - 19th July 2009

Uranus isn't always your greatest ally but this planet is definitely on your side now. A friend or colleague could be instrumental in helping you on a new and positive path and you'll do better pooling ideas and working as a team. You may also find that a previously insurmountable problem can be overcome and that someone is prepared to adopt a different position on a matter, which will be to your advantage. With Saturn in your sign you have had to deal with many responsibilities and difficulties which may have caused you to be fearful of change but this is one week when you should throw caution to the winds and embrace the new and the different.

Two heads are better than one.

20th July 2009 - 26th July 2009

Venus and Saturn make awkward bedfellows: they know they have the business of love to accomplish together yet they're caught up in the formalities and the practicalities. Put another way, where a romance is concerned you may suddenly feel as though you have lost the sparkle and found a stumbling block. Likewise, in other areas of life there may appear to be more negatives than positives. Fortunately, Wednesday's eclipse reveals that something original and good will come out of current developments, especially if you're prepared to let go of those things that have done their time. This is another learning curve, but one you'll be oh so glad you took.

Getting real.

27th July 2009 - 2nd August 2009

This period of the year is full of changes - some just minor alterations to plans and others rather more destabilizing. However, to use a familiar axiom, it is what it is... As always with Uranus and Pluto on the scene if you are ready to make sweeping changes then you have all the help you require but should you be looking forward to a week of proverbial sunshine and blue skies, you'll need to carry an umbrella. People make the most unusual of moves and issues that have been simmering on the back burner bubble over with unexpected results. I wouldn't say this is a difficult few days but events come out of the blue and from all angles.

Eyes wide open!

3rd August 2009 - 9th August 2009

Your ideas have substance so be confident in sharing them with others. Indeed, this is a time for talking and making moves intended to take you places. You may also find that what has been a bit of a puzzle over the past few weeks is at last making sense. This having been said, you are still more emotionally and physically vulnerable at the moment so avoid putting too much pressure on yourself and try not to take other people's actions and statements too personally. The weekend is perfect for being with those you love and for exchanging deep and meaningful feelings, and if there are clouds over a relationship, they will pass.

Doing the talking.

10th August 2009 - 16th August 2009

With Mars squaring Saturn early in the week you can be forgiven for looking at life through a dark window. However, like a proverbial summer storm, it will be over quickly and by Friday Jupiter's rays will be brightening your outlook. It may be that you have been overworking or that an endeavour has too many flaws to survive - either way once you have gained distance and perspective you'll see matters in a better light. And while it is vital that realities are faced and that you're not wasting time and energies on a worthless project, there's nothing wrong in putting as positive a spin as possible on a unexpected turn of events.

A matter of opinion.

17th August 2009 - 23rd August 2009

The sun enters your sign on the 23rd giving you vitality and strength, and after this week's planetary cocktail you'll probably need all the energy you can get! Perhaps you have a packed schedule and already know there will be demands on your time and energies but the chances are information reaching you will involve last moment changes to arrangements and that people have very different ideas from you about what was meant to be happening. In an ideal world, you'd be starting a new page of your life book now but if events do the job for you, try to see the situation as a birthday gift not a booby prize.

All new episodes.

24th August 2009 - 30th August 2009

August goes out on a Plutonic note, which means stormy but therapeutic. If you have a huge workload you can clear it with no problem and should you be waiting to unload some baggage, the planetary removal team is right behind you. The trouble is, you may not be aware there is any excess baggage in your life, and what initially looks like a small task could turn out to be mammoth. This is a climate in which people make all-or-nothing decisions and a time when suppressed feelings erupt like a super-volcano. Obviously, it's better out than in, so to speak, but you might prefer to give certain people and situations a wide berth for now.

Playing it safe.

31st August 2009 - 5th September 2009

September is likely to turn out to be a month of conclusions. On the one hand, you could reach some profound understandings and, on the other, you'll be able to draw a line under a situation. And, the full moon of the 4th could set the ball rolling. Relationships are in the spotlight now, whether you are subject to the needs and desires of other people or because you are ready to make an important decision. Full moons up the emotional amps so if you're happily entwined with your love, you could experience that beautiful sense of oneness, however, if the love boat has been through some choppy waters you may want to be on the opposite side of the globe from each other.

A full heart.

6th September 2009 - 13th September 2009

September is a month of changes and turning points. Now, I know you've heard that before but if opportunities have arisen then fizzled into thin air you may be pleasantly surprised at what happens over the next few weeks. Of course, change is not always recognized at the time as being good for you... With this in mind should you be feeling insecure about a situation you should talk to the people concerned and put some alternative plans on paper. That way you will empower yourself. Until the end of the month Mercury will be in retrograde so enormous benefits are to be found from past connections and past experience.

Slowly but surely.

14th September 2009 - 20th September 2009

In a mater of weeks Saturn will exit your sign leaving you stronger and wiser, however, before this planet moves on it has another meeting with its opposite number, Uranus. Once again, events will reflect this theme of the old versus the new, safety versus risk and restriction versus liberation, and even though the way forward is with the new, which will almost certainly involve liberation and risk, letting go will be hard. You are not without options but to a certain extent you are in the hands of people who have either radically different opinions from you or who face a stark choice between looking after their interests or yours.

Wait and see.

21st September 2009 - 27th September 2009

Venus has just arrived in your sign and, over the course of the next four weeks, will brighten your sights and deliver a success; she may also do wonderful work on your love life. However, that is all in the near future; for now, it is a case of nose down and face the music. It is always difficult to know when continuing loyalty is necessary and when you are simply wasting your time but it could be that you have done all you can with a situation and to do more would be self-destructive. You need to put yourself first now and if other people truly appreciate you they will change their tune. The hard decision is the right one.

Getting tough.

28th September 2009 - 4th October 2009

With Mercury back on track from the 29th you can sort out lingering communication issues and get from A to B without going through the whole alphabet! Plus, a problem which occurred a few weeks ago could be solved by a simple conversation. It may seem that answers are emerging out of thin air but it is more likely that people – including you - have been unconsciously mulling over their options and finally reaching a decision. It may be that there is still room to manoeuvre but you would be wiser assuming that what is decided now is the way it's going to stay. No one's going to think less of you for changing your mind, by the way.

Turning around.

5th October 2009 - 11th October 2009

You can practically count the days until Saturn moves onward and upward but his regime isn't quite over. By which I mean you still have to tread carefully with people who could get in the way of your success, and there is still the odd lesson to learn. And there could be another Saturnian tutorial this week. You may believe you have bent like a reed in the river quite enough but once again you are being asked to accommodate changes and take certain outcomes on the chin. Fortunately, Jupiter is waiting in the wings ready to give you an ego boost of the romantic or financial kind. Stop focusing on what you cannot live without and celebrate what you already have.

Acceptance and progress.

12th October 2009 - 18th October 2009

Venus makes her last connection to Saturn in your sign so this could be an important week, especially for a love affair or a matter close to your heart. These two planets put the glue in a relationship, thus binding two people together yet also marking their sticking points. Therefore, you'll see the measure of a partner at this time, if not the measure of other people with whom you have shared feelings and commitments. Relationships that are built to last sail through such moments but others require a lot more work... The latter part of the week has the most to offer in the way of epiphanies and affirmations.

The real stuff.

19th October 2009 - 25th October 2009

If you've been overlooked and underpaid now is the moment to talk to the powers-that-be. Even if you don't receive that promotion or an immediate salary raise, you will have started the ball rolling and shown others that you're not afraid to stand up for yourself. And this same advice could be applied to other situations too. You don't have to be aggressive so much as persuasive; the past couple of years must have taught you everything you needed to know about handling difficult people, so with the cosmos beaming blessings in your direction, how can you fail to succeed. In a nutshell, you can't.

A slam dunk.

26th October 2009 - 1st November 2009

Saturn is leaving your sign for six months during which time you will feel the pressures lifting from your shoulders and you will be looking at that glass half-full for a change. That this planet of reality will be influencing finances is a point for consideration, however. Saturn produces a harvest of sorts, which is why you can become richer during such a transit; on the other hand if you have been hoping that a financial easing will occur without any pain on your part, you're in for a surprise. Take a realistic view of offers currently on the table and don't be afraid to drop a commitment you really don't need.

Cautious optimism.

2nd November 2009 - 8th November 2009

You're going to have to decide whether people are talking a load of hot air or if there is a genuine foundation for their beliefs. When Neptune is in the mix, illusion and fantasy are never far behind: on the other hand, matters that require vision and faith receive a massive injection of hope. The areas of communication are in the spotlight, in some cases because papers are ready to be signed and hands shaken on a deal, and in other cases because you have important words to say and you are prepared to go the full distance in order to be heard. Events of five months ago may figure in what is happening now – just in case you require a little more clarity.

True or false?

9th November 2009 - 15th November 2009

Good ideas should be acted upon and if you have something to say, say it. People require direction and focus and you could be the one to show them the way. On the other hand, if you are on the receiving end of someone else's divine inspiration – and you're not exactly impressed – have the courage to make a stand for your own needs and opinions. This kind of astro-scape separates the men from the boys and the Virgos from the victims... The one problem you may face is lack of genuine information so before you step up on your soap box, appraise yourself of as many facts and names as you can. It's just common sense.

Leading by example.
