This is one of the more powerful starts to a new year. Old orders get swept away and the road ahead prepared for the new and the very different. You yourself may be behind such a process and looking forward to the big changes that lie ahead, but it is worth being prepared for events you did not expect. Tempers get frayed easily in such an astro-climate, so avoid issuing ultimatums and do your best not to escalate hostilities. Allow this influence to get rid of what you don’t need, not what you will need in the future.

Geminis rarely choose to “come on heavy” but you’re more likely to issue a serious statement of intent now than try to make light of your feelings. Jupiter in your sign angles Saturn for the second time in this cycle, giving you another opportunity to set plans in stone and address the future. Of course, there’s room for joy and celebration too, but, on balance, this is a time in which to address the realities of life. Uranus is also in the mix, bringing surprises and unexpected detours from the grand plan. Under this celestial canopy, everything is as it should be.

A great start to a great year. Maybe not perfect, but you have the wind in your sails and Jupiter’s good fortune to provide for and protect you. Finances, or to be more accurate, financial relationships, are a top priority with some of you signing up to long-term agreements and obtaining the funding you need while others will be cutting their losses and making a new start thereafter. And there could be monetary gifts and settlements too. From the 20th, far horizons come into view, whether you’re off on your travels or talking futures with someone you love.

The Year Ahead for Gemini

You might like to think of the first half of the year as a time of preparation and a period when you must make a supreme effort to overcome challenges while in the second half, one or more of your ships comes in… In your twenties, thirties, forties and fifties, you will be looking at where you want to be ten, twenty, thirty years down the line, whereas if you’re in your sixties and beyond, you may already be living your best life, the one you spent years crafting and grafting for. Since Pluto’s theme is transformation, whether you are part of the younger or older generation, your plans for the future will change, not only as a result of your growth and personal experience but because of the great global changes that lie ahead.
